Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
Regarding the Verse: 'And (We) made you into Shu'ub and Qabail-- (49.13) that Shu'uib means the big Qabail (i.e. nations) while the Qabail (i.e. tribes) means the branch tribes.

We had a makkuk which was called Makkuk Khalid. Its capacity was two measurements according to the measurements of Harun. The narrator said: The sa' of Khalid was the sa' of Hisham b. 'Abd al-Malik.

Al-Shaibani narrated on the authority of Zirr who narrated it on this authority of Abdullah that the (words of Allah):
" The heart belied not what he saw" (al Qur'an, Iiii. 11) imply that he saw Gabriel (peace be upon him) and he had six hundred wings.

Mishkat al-Masabih 3699
Ghalib al-Qattan quoted a man who stated on the authority of his father that his grandfather reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The office of a chief is necessary, for people must have chiefs, but the chiefs will go to hell.”*
Abu Dawud transmitted it.
* Mirqat. iv, 133 says this means those who are unjust, or is a warning against the temptations to injustice arising from their office.

أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ وَجَدَ الْقُرَّ فَقَالَ: ألق عَليّ ثوبا نَافِعُ فَأَلْقَيْتُ عَلَيْهِ بُرْنُسًا فَقَالَ: تُلْقِي عَلَيَّ هَذَا وَقَدْ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَلْبَسَهُ الْمُحْرِمُ؟ . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد؟

Abu Huraira reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The imam is responsible and the mu'adhdhin is trusted. O God, guide the imams and forgive the mu'adhdhins.”
Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi and Shafi’i transmitted it, and in another version by Shafi’i the wording of al-Masabih is used.

Mishkat al-Masabih 673
‘Abdallah b. ‘Amr told of a man who said, “Messenger of God, the mu'adhdhins excel us.”* To him God’s Messenger replied, ‘Say the same words as they say, and when you come to the end, if you make any petition it will be granted to you.”
* This most probably means that they get a greater reward. The reply suggests how that may be counterbalanced.
Abu Dawud transmitted it.
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ: قَالَ رَجُلٌ: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّ الْمُؤَذِّنِينَ يَفْضُلُونَنَا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «قُلْ كَمَا يَقُولُونَ فَإِذَا انْتَهَيْتَ فسل تعط» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد

Wabisa b. Ma'bad said that God’s Messenger saw a man praying alone behind the row and ordered him to repeat the prayer.
Ahmad Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it, and Tirmidhi said this is a hasan tradition.

Mishkat al-Masabih 1146
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri told how a man came when God’s Messenger had already prayed, and he said, “Will no one give alms* to this man and pray along with him?” Thereupon a man got up and prayed along with him.
* This is a literal translation. The idea is that by joining with him he increased the reward the man would receive for his prayer, as prayer in company has a much greater reward than prayer alone.
Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Sahl b. Abu Hathma related that God’s messenger used to say,

* This is interpreted by some as meaning that a third or a quarter was not to be reckoned when assessing the tax.

A’ishah (RAA) narrated, ‘The Prophet sent Umm Salamah on the night of the 10th (before the day of the Sacrifice) and she threw her pebbles before dawn, after which she returned to Makkah to perform Tawaf.’’ Related by Abu Dawud.
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: { أَرْسَلَ اَلنَّبِيُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -بِأُمِّ سَلَمَةَ لَيْلَةَ اَلنَّحْرِ, فَرَمَتِ اَلْجَمْرَةَ قَبْلَ اَلْفَجْرِ, ثُمَّ مَضَتْ فَأَفَاضَتْ } رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ, وَإِسْنَادُهُ عَلَى شَرْطِ مُسْلِمٍ 1 .

Abu Sirmah (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “He who causes harm to a Muslim will be harmed by Allah, and he who acts in a hostile manner against a Muslim, will be punished in the same way by Allah.” Related by Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi who graded it to be Hasan (good).

Narrated 'Aishah (RA) regarding the saying of Allah the Most High:
"Allah will not punish you for what is unintentional in your oaths (5:89)." She said: It (was sent down about such phrases as) a person's sayying: 'No, by Allah' and 'Yes, by Allah.'
[al-Bukhari reported it (Mauquf, i.e. as a saying of 'Aishah). Abu Dawud reported it as Marfu' (attributed to the Prophet).]
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا { فِي قَوْلِهِ تَعَالَى: ﴿ لَا يُؤَاخِذُكُمُ اَللَّهُ بِاللَّغْوِ فِي أَيْمَانِكُمْ ﴾ 1

Narrated 'Imran bin Husain (RA):

Sakhbara al-Azdi reported God’s messenger as saying, “If anyone
seeks knowledge, it will be an atonement for past sins.” Tirmidhi and
Darimi transmitted it, Tirmidhi saying that this is a tradition whose
isnad is weak, and that Abu Dawud the transmitter is declared to be
weak.

Tirmidhī, Abū Dāwūd and Nasā’i transmitted it, Tirmidhī saying this is a hasan gharīb tradition.
وَعَنْ عُقْبَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْجَاهِرُ بِالْقُرْآنِ كالجاهر بِالصَّدَقَةِ ولامسر بِالْقُرْآنِ كَالْمُسِرِّ بِالصَّدَقَةِ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ وَقَالَ التِّرْمِذِيُّ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ

As-Sa’ib b. Yazid on his father’s authority reported the Prophet as saying, “None of you must take his brother’s staff jestingly with the intention of causing annoyance. Anyone who takes his brother’s staff must return it to him.”
Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it, the latter’s version ending at “causing annoyance.”

Anas reported God’s Messenger as saying, “When a woman observes the five times of prayer, fasts during Ramadan, preserves her chastity and obeys her husband, she may enter by any of the gates of paradise she wishes.”*
* A way of saying nothing will prevent her from entering paradise.
Abu Nu'aim transmitted it in al-Hilya.
وَعَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْمَرْأَةُ إِذَا صَلَّتْ خَمْسَهَا وَصَامَتْ شَهْرَهَا وَأَحْصَنَتْ فَرْجَهَا وَأَطَاعَتْ بَعْلَهَا فَلْتَدْخُلْ مِنْ أَيِّ أَبْوَابِ الْجَنَّةِ شَاءَتْ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو نعيم فِي الْحِلْية

وَعَن سهلِ بنِ الحَنظلِيَّةِ قَالَ: مَرَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِبَعِيرٍ قَدْ لَحِقَ ظَهْرُهُ بِبَطْنِهِ فَقَالَ: «اتَّقُوا اللَّهَ فِي هَذِهِ الْبَهَائِمِ الْمُعْجَمَةِ فَارْكَبُوهَا صَالِحَة واترُكوها صَالِحَة» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد
