Ibn ‘Abbas said that the Prophet performed the circumambulation at the Farewell Pilgrimage on a camel and touched the corner with a crooked stick. Bukhari and Muslim.

Jabir said that God’s messenger entered on the day of the Conquest of Mecca wearing a black turban, but not wearing the ihram. Muslim transmitted it.

Mu‘awiya said that he heard God's Messenger say, “The mu’adhdhins will have the longest necks on the day of resurrection.” Muslim transmitted it.

Anas said that the Prophet, Abu Bakr and ‘Umar used to begin the prayer with, “Praise be to God the Lord of the universe.” Muslim transmitted it.

Anas said that when the Prophet went away* he turned to his right. *i.e. at the end of the salat. Muslim transmitted it.

She reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The two rak'as at dawn are better than this world and what it contains.” Muslim transmitted it.

Sahl b. Sa‘d said, “We did not have a siesta or lunch till after the Friday prayer.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Abu Talha reported the Prophet as saying, “The angels do not enter a house which contains a dog or pictures.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Ibn Abbas said God’s messenger prohibited every beast of prey with a fang and every bird with a talon. Muslim transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Umar reported God’s messenger as saying, "I neither eat nor prohibit the eating of lizards." (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Anas reported God's messenger as saying, "The best medical treatments you apply are cupping and sea costus.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

“There is no infection, no hama, no star promising rain, and no serpent in a hungry belly." Muslim transmitted it.

Ibn Shihab said, "When a man became Muslim, he was ordered to have himself circumcised, even if he was old."

Jabir bin Abdullah (RAA) narrated, "The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) prohibited beating a tied-animal to death." Related by Muslim.

"That (which we were doing) reached the Prophet (SAW) and he did not forbid us from doing it."

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "The earnings of a cupper (Hajjam) are impure." [Reported by Muslim].

The Prophet (SAW) combined the Maghrib and 'Isha prayers with one Iqamah.

"Twenty-five degrees (more)."

Ibn Sirin said, “This knowledge is a religion, so consider from whom you receive your religion.” Muslim transmitted it.

He also reported God’s messenger as saying, “It is enough falsehood for a man to relate everything he hears.” Muslim transmitted it.

Anas said that the Prophet used to perform ablution with a mudd of water and wash with a sa‘ up to five mudds. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

‘Aisha said that when the Prophet was defiled and wanted to eat or sleep, he performed the ablution prescribed for prayer. (Bukhari and Muslim)

‘Abdallah b. ‘Abbas said that he heard God’s messenger say, “When a skin is tanned it is pure." Muslim transmitted it.

She also said, “The Prophet would recline on my lap when I was menstruating, then recite the Qur'an.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Buraida reported God’s messenger as saying, “The believer dies with the sweat on his brow.” Tirmidhi, Nasa'i and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Ma'mar reported God's Messenger as saying, “If anyone keeps goods till the price rises he is a sinner.” Muslim transmitted it.

‘A’isha reported the Prophet as saying, “A thief’s hand should be cut off only for a quarter of a dinar and upwards.” (Bukhari and Muslim).

Ibn ‘Umar said the Prophet had a thief’s hand cut off for a shield worth three dirhams. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

"The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'Verbally abusing a Muslim is immorality and fighting him is Kufr (disbelief).'"

'The trustworthy, honest Muslim merchant will be with the martyrs on the Day of Resurrection."

“The disbeliever eats with seven intestines and the believer eats with one intestine.”

“The believer dies with sweat on his brow.”

“Verbally abusing a Muslim is Fusuq (disobedience) and fighting him is Kufr.”

‘The believer should not be stung from the same hole twice.’”

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to remember Allah at all times.

"The dreams of the believer are a portion of the forty-six portions of Prophet-hood".

A believer is not stung twice from the same hole.

Umm ad-Darda' said, "Abu'd-Darda' stood up in the night to pray. He was weeping and said, 'O Allah! You made my physical form good, so make my character good!' until morning. I said, 'Abu'd-Darda', your only supplication for the entire night was for good character!' He replied, 'Umm ad-Darda', the Muslim perfects his character until good character enters him into Paradise; and taints his character until his bad character enter him into Hellfire. The Muslim is forgiven while he is asleep.' I asked, 'Abu'd-Darda', how can be forgiven while he is asleep?' He said, 'His brother arises in the night, performs the night prayer, and supplicates to Allah Almighty and is answered. He supplicates for his Muslim brother and his supplication is answered.'"

He reported God’s Messenger as saying, “By Him in whose hand my soul is, were it not that men among the believers are not satisfied with remaining behind me when I cannot get mounts for them, I would not stay behind when an expedition goes out in God’s path. By Him in whose hand my soul is, I wish I could be killed in God’s path and brought to life, then be killed and brought to life, then be killed and brought to life, then be killed.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Ibn 'Umar said, "There was a time when no one was more entitled to a person's money than his Muslim brother. Now people love their dirhams and dinars more than their Muslim brother. I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'How many a neighbour will be brought together with his neighbour on the Day of Rising! He will say, "Lord, this man closed his door to me and refused to show me common kindness!"'"

Hisham ibn 'Amir heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "It is not lawful for a Muslim to snub another Muslim for more than three nights. As long as they are cut off from each other, they are turning away from the Truth. The first of them to return to a proper state has his expiation for that inasmuch as he was the first to return to a proper state. If they die while they are cut off from one another, neither of them will ever enter the Garden."

Abu Huraira reported God’s messenger as saying, “Everyone is born a Muslim, but his parents make him a Jew, a Christian, or a Magian; just as a beast is born whole. Do you find some among them [born] maimed?” Then he was saying, “God’s pattern on which He formed mankind. There is no alteration of God’s creation. That is the true religion.” ¹ (Bukhari and Muslim.) ¹ Quran, xxx, 30. It is not quite clear whether these words were recited by the Prophet or by Abu Huraira.

Ibn ‘Abbas told that the Prophet asked Ma'iz b. Malik, “Is what I have heard about you true?” He asked what he had heard about him, and he replied that he had heard he had had intercourse with a girl belonging to the family of so and so. When he admitted it, and had acknowledged it four times, he ordered him to be stoned to death. Muslim transmitted it. (Here a tradition by Muslim has been placed in Section II.)

The tribe Banu Salimah wanted to move nearer to the mosque. On learning this Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said to them, "I heard that you intend to move nearer to the mosque". They said, "That is so, O Messenger of Allah, we do want to do that". He said, "O Banu Salimah, keep to your homes, your steps (to the mosque) are recorded".

Another narration says: "There is for every step (towards the mosque) a degree (of reward) for you".

[Muslim].

Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Verily, I am only a human and the claimants bring to me (their disputes); perhaps some of them are more eloquent than others. I judge according to what I hear from them). So, he whom I, by my judgment, (give the undue share) out of the right of a Muslim, I in fact give him a portion of (Hell) Fire".

No one asked the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) more about Dajjal than I asked him. He said to me, "He will not harm you." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, it is reported that he will have with him a mountain of bread and a river full of water." Thereupon he said, "He (Dajjal) is far too worthless and insignificant near Allah (to let him deceive the believers)."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

"The believer owes six duties toward his fellow believer: To visit him when he is sick, to attend his funeral when he dies, to accept his invitation, to greet him with Salam when he meets him, to reply to him (say: Yarhamuk Allah, may Allah have mercy on you) when he sneezes and to be sincere to him, whether he is absent or present." (Hasan).

"Ali said: 'The Messenger of Allah did not tell me anything that he did not tell the people, except what is in a sheet in the sheath of my word.' They did not leave him alone until he brought out the sheet, and in it (were the words): 'The lives of the believers are equal in value, and they hasten to support the asylum granted by the least of them, and they are one against others. But no believer may be killed in return for a disbeliever, nor one with a covenant while his covenant is in effect."

The Prophet [SAW] said: "If two Muslims confront each other with swords, and one kills the other, they will both be in Hell." It was said: "O Messenger of Allah, (we understand about) the killer, but what about the one who is killed?" He said: "He wanted to kill his companion."

When you meet him, you should salute him; when he invites you, accept his invitation; when he asks for your advice, give it to him; when he sneezes and praises Allah, say May Allah have mercy on you; when he is ill, visit him; and when he dies follow his funeral.” Related by Muslim.

The Prophet (PBUH) used to teach them (i.e., the Companions) whenever they came out to visit the graveyard to say: "As-salamu 'alaikum ahlad-diyyari minal- Mu'minina wal-Muslimina, wa inna in sha' Allahu bikum lahiqun. As 'alul-laha lana wa-lakumul- 'afiyyah (May you be safe, O inmates of the abodes of the believers and the Muslims, and if Allah pleases, we shall follow you, we pray to Allah for well-being for ourselves and for you)."

Anas reported the Prophet as saying, “Every perfidious one will have a standard on the day of resurrection by which he will be recognized.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Ibn ‘Umar said that God’s messenger hastened to Mecca on the day of sacrifice, then returned and prayed the noon prayer at Mina. Muslim transmitted it.

‘Uthman reported God's Messenger as saying, “If anyone builds a mosque for God, God will build a house for him in paradise.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Abu Huraira reported God’s Messenger as saying, “When the time for prayer comes, only the prescribed prayer is to be said.” Muslim transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Umar said that God’s Messenger, Abu Bakr and ‘Umar used to say the festival prayers before the sermon. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Ibn Abu Aufa told that they went on seven expeditions along with God's messenger and ate locusts along with him. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

He reported God’s messenger as saying, “Two people’s food is enough for three and three people’s is enough for four.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Anas told that he saw the Prophet squatting and eating dates. A version says he was eating some quickly. Muslim transmitted it.

Ibn 'Abbas told that when he brought the Prophet a bucket of Zamzam water he drank it while standing. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Ibn ‘Umar reported the Prophet as saying, “Do not leave a fire burning in your houses while you are asleep.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

“Do not afflict your children by squeezing for a swelling in the uvula, but apply costus.” (Bukhari and Muslim .)

Anas said God’s messenger gave permission to use a spell for the evil eye, scorpion sting and small pustules. Muslim transmitted it.

Anas reported God's messenger as saying, "The dajjal will be followed by seventy thousand Jews of Isfahan wearing Persian shawls." Muslim transmitted it.

`Abdallah b. Mas'ud reported God's messenger as saying, "The last hour will come only when people are wicked." Muslim transmitted it.

Abut Tufail said he had seen God's messenger, and he was white, good-looking and of moderate size. Muslim transmitted it.

`A'isha said God's messenger did not leave a dinar or a dirham, or a sheep or a camel, and did not make a will about anything. Muslim transmitted it.

“The believer dies while his forehead is sweating." Related by the three Imams.

Jabir (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) prohibited whitening a grave with plaster, to sit on it or to build over it (such as a dome).’ Related by Muslim.

Abu Hurairah (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “None of you should drink while standing.” Related by Muslim.

‘Imran bin Husain (RAA) narrated that The Prophet exchanged two Muslim men from captivity for one polytheist.” Related by At-Tirmidhi.

Al-Bukhari and Muslim transmitted in the hadith of Umm Hani’, “We have given protection to whom you have granted (protection).”

Ibn 'Umar (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Every intoxicant is Khamr, and every intoxicant is prohibited." Related by Muslim.

The Prophet (SAW) said, "Do not eat with the left hand, for the devil eats with the left hand." [Reported by Muslim].

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "One or two sucks do not make (marriage) unlawful." [Muslim reported it].

The Prophet (SAW) said, "Offer Witr prayer before it is morning." [Reported by Muslim].

Allah's Messenger (SAW) forbade wearing of silk and clothes dyed with safflower (a red dye). [Reported by Muslim].

‘Uthman b. ‘Affan reported God's messenger as saying, “Whoever dies knowing that there is no god but God will enter paradise." Muslim transmitted it.

He also reported God's messenger as saying, "The cry of an infant at the moment of birth is due to a prick from the devil.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

‘A’isha reported God’s messenger as saying, “If anyone introduces into this affair of ours anything which does not belong to it, it is rejected.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Anas reported God's messenger as saying, “Take a meal a little before dawn, for there is a blessing in taking a meal at that time.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

‘A'isha said she never saw God’s messenger fasting during the first ten days of Dhul Hijja. Muslim transmitted it.

Ma'mar b. Abdallah told that he used to hear God’s Messenger say, "Food for food, like for like.” Muslim transmitted it.

He said that God’s Messenger forbade selling a quantity of dates whose measure was unknown for a specific quantity of dates. Muslim transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Umar said that God’s Messenger forbade selling or giving away the right to inheritance from a manumitted slave. (Bukhari and Muslim.)
