Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Allah loves a slave who is pious, free of all wants and the unnoticed."

[Muslim].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) commanded the licking of fingers and the gleaning of the dish, saying, "You do not know in which portion the blessing lies."

[Muslim].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "None of you should drink standing; and if any one forgets, he must vomit."

[Muslim].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "He who wears silk clothes in this life shall not wear them in the Hereafter."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "If someone leaves his seat (for one reason or another) and returns to it, he is better entitled to it."

[Muslim].

Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "When the people of the Book greet you, respond with: 'Wa 'alaikum' (And upon you)".

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) prohibited the price of a dog, the earning of an prostitute, and the money given to a soothsayer.

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Do not keep the fire burning in your homes when you go to bed."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The expiation for beating or slapping a slave on the face for something he has not done is to set him free."

[Muslim].

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "It is enough for a man to prove himself a liar when he goes on narrating whatever he hears."

[Muslim].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "He who supplicates sincerely for martyrdom, it will be granted to him even though he is not killed on the battlefield."

[Muslim].

The Messenger of Allah said, "When Allah wishes good for someone, He bestows upon him the understanding of Deen."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Allah makes the way to Jannah easy for him who treads the path in search of knowledge."

[Muslim].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "A believer never satisfies doing good until he reaches Jannah."

[At- Tirmidhi].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was asked: "Which Salat is the best?" He replied, " The best Salat is that in which Qiyam (the duration of standing) is longer."

[Muslim].

I came to the Prophet (PBUH) when he was in the mosque, and he said to me, "Perform two Rak'ah prayer."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to perform four Rak'ah of Duha prayer (at the forenoon) and would add to them whatever Allah wished.

[Muslim].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Dajjal (the Antichrist) will be followed by seventy thousand Jews of Isfahan and will be dressed in robes of green coloured satin."

[Muslim].

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The first matter concerning which people will be judged on the Day of Resurrection will be the matter of blood."

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to breathe three times in the course of a drink (he used to drink in three gulps).

I served the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) Zamzam water to drink and he drank it while he was standing.

"Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to do the same."

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) disliked going to bed before the 'Isha' (night) prayer and indulging in conversation after it."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'There is no Muslim, three of whose children die before reaching puberty, but Allah will admit him to Paradise by virtue of His mercy towards them."'

"This Verse - 'And whoever kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell' - was revealed six months after the Verse which was revealed in Surat Al-Furqan."

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'It is not befitting for a Muslim who has anything concerning which a will should be made, to abide for two nights without having a written will with him.'"

Hakim b. Hizam was born inside the Ka'ba and lived for one hundred and twenty years.

None of you should use the word al-harin (for grape) for the heart of a believer is karm (worthy of respect).

The believers are like one person; if his head aches, the whole body aches with fever and sleeplessness.

The obligatory prayer is essential behind every Muslim, pious or impious, even if he has committed a sins.

I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) say: When a Muslim supplicates for his absent brother the angels say: Amin, and may you receive the like.

Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The person who is best versed in the recitation of the Book of Allah, should lead the prayer; but if all those present are equally versed in it, then the one who has most knowledge of the Sunnah; if they are equal in that respect too, then the one who has emigrated (to Al-Madinah) first, if they are equal in this respect also, then the oldest of them. No man should lead another in prayer where the latter has authority, or sit in his house, without his permission".

In another narration in Muslim: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "One who is senior most in accepting Islam, should lead the Salat (prayer)".

Yet another narration is: Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "A man who is well versed in the Book of Allah and can recite it better, should lead the Salat (prayer); if (all those present) are equal in this respect, then the man who is senior most in respect of emigration, if they are equal in that respect too, then the oldest of them should lead the prayer".

"We were with 'Umar when a man came to him and said: 'O Commander of the Believers! sometimes we stay for a month or two without finding any water. Umar said: As if I did not find water, I would not pray until I found water.' 'Ammar bin Yasir said: 'Do you remember, O Commander of the Believer, when you were in such and such a place and we were rearing the camels, and you know that we became Junub?' He said: 'Yes.' 'As for me I rolled in the dust, then we came to the Prophet (PBUH) and he laughed and said: "Clean earth would have been sufficient for you." And he struck his hands on the earth then blew on them, then he wiped his face and part of his forearms. He ('Umar) said: "Fear Allah, O 'Ammar!'" He said: 'O Commander of the Believers! If you wish I will not mention it.' He said: 'No, we will let you bear the burden of what you took upon yourself.'"

‘Ali said that God's Messenger used to pray four rak’as before the afternoon prayer, separating them with a salutation to the angels who are near God’s presence and the Muslims and believers who come after them. Tirmidhi transmitted it.

"Allah's Messenger (S) would pray four Rak'ah before Al-Asr separating between them with At-Taslim upon the angels that are close (to Allah) and those who follow them among the Muslims and the believers."

Al-Hasan reported that Sa'sa'a ibn Mu'awiya told him that he met Abu Dharr finding him alone without any relatives and asked, "Don't you have any children, Abu Dharr?" He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'There is no Muslim who has three of his children die before they reach puberty without Allah admitting him to the Garden by virtue of His mercy to them. There is no man who frees a Muslim with Allah Almighty making each of the limbs of the one who is freed a ransom for each of the emancipator's limbs.'"

Our Lord (glorified and exalted be He) descends each night to the earth's sky when there remains the final third of the night, and He says: Who is saying a prayer to Me that I may answer it? Who is asking something of Me that I may give it him? Who is asking forgiveness of Me that I may forgive him? It was related by al-Bukhari (also by Muslim, Malik, at-Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud). In a version by Muslim the Hadith ends with the words: And thus He continues till [the light of] dawn shines.

‘A'isha said that when God’s messenger washed because of a seminal emission he first washed his hands, then performed ablution as he did for prayer, then put his fingers into the water and moved them through the roots of his hair, then poured three handfuls on his head with both hands, then poured the water over all his skin. (Bukhari and Muslim.) In a version by Muslim he first washed his hands before putting them into the vessel, then poured water over his left hand with his right hand, then washed his private parts, after which he performed ablution.

Six are the rights of a Muslim over another Muslim. It was said to him: Allah's Messenger, what are these? Thereupon he said: When you meet him, offer him greetings;when he invites you to a feast accept it. when he seeks your council give him, and when he sneezes and says:" All praise is due to Allah," you say Yarhamuk Allah (may Allah show mercy to you) ; and when he fails ill visit him; and when he dies follow his bier.

Tamim ad-Dari (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “The religion is Nasihah.” the people said, ‘To whom should it be directed?’ He replied, “To Allah, His Book, His Messenger (P.B.U.H.), to the leaders of the Muslims and to the common folk of the Muslims.” Related by Muslim.

"You shall not enter Paradise until you believe, and you have not believed until you love one another. Shall I tell you of something you can do to make you love one another? Spread the greetings of Salam (peace) amongst yourselves (i.e. between each other). Reference: Muslim 1/74 and others.

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "By Him in Whose Hand is my life! You will not enter Jannah until you believe, and you will not believe until you love one another. Shall I inform you of something which, if you do, you will love one another? Promote greetings amongst yourselves."

"I have been commanded to fight the people until they say La ilaha illallah (there is non worthy or worship except Allah). Whoever says it, his life and his property are safe from me, except for its right, and his reckoning will be with Allah."

Umm Habiba and Zainab daughter of Jahsh reported God’s Messenger as saying, “It is not lawful for a woman who believes in God and the last day to observe mourning for one who has died more than three nights, except for the four months and ten days in the case of a husband.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

He said that God’s messenger ran three circuits beginning at the stone and walked four, and he ran in the bottom of the channel when he went between as-Safa and al-Marwa. Muslim transmitted it.

the rat, the crow, the kite, the scorpion and the biting dog." Bukhari and Muslim.

Rafi‘ b. Khadij said, “We used to observe the sunset prayer with God’s Messenger, then one of us would go away when it was still possible to see the distance of a bowshot.” (Bukhari and Muslim)

She also said that God’s Messenger would pray the Morning Prayer, and the women would depart wrapped up in their woolen garments, being unrecognizable because of the darkness before dawn. (Bukhari and Muslim)

Al-Bara’ said that he heard the Prophet recite at the evening prayer, “By the fig and the olive”* and that he had never heard anyone with a more beautiful voice. *Al-Qur’an; 95. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Jabir b. Samura said that the. Prophet used to recite at the dawn prayer, "Qaf. By the glorious Qur'an"* and a passage of similar length, and his prayer afterwards was shortened. *Al-Qur’an; 50. Muslim transmitted it.

Abu Huraira said that the Prophet used to say when prostrating himself, “O God, forgive me all my sins, small and great, first and last, open and secret.” Muslim transmitted it.

Abu Sa‘id al-Khudri reported God’s Messenger as saying, “No prayer is to be said after the morning prayer until the sun rises, or after the afternoon prayer until the sun sets.”. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

O Malik, let your Lord put an end to us” (Al-Qur’an; 43:77). (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Abu Burda said ‘A’isha brought out to them a patched garment and a coarse lower garment and told them that God’s messenger’s spirit was taken when he was wearing those. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Hisham b. Zaid quoted Anas as saying that he went to visit the Prophet when he was in an enclosure and saw him branding sheep. He thought he said it was on their ears. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

‘A’isha reported the Prophet as saying, “A family which has dates will not be hungry.” A version reports him as saying twice or three times, “A family which has no dates, ‘A’isha, will be hungry.” Muslim transmitted it.

I went on seven expeditions with God's Messenger and stayed behind to look after the baggage, prepare food for them, tend the wounded and look after the sick. Muslim transmitted it.

He reported God's messenger as saying that on the day of resurrection God will seize the earth and fold the sky in His right hand, then say, "I am the King. Where are the kings of the earth?" (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Abu Dharr told that he asked God's messenger whether he had seen his Lord and received the reply, "He is Light; how can I see Him?" Muslim transmitted it.

A’ishah (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “Breaking a deceased body’s bones is exactly like breaking them when he is alive.” Related by Abu Dawud in accordance with the conditions of Muslim.

Sa'd bin Abi Wqqas (RAA) said (during his death illness) ‘Make a lahd for me and cover it with un-burnt bricks, as you did with the grave of the Prophet (P.B.U.H.).’ Related by Muslim.

‘A’ishah (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “O Allah, cause distress to him who has any charge over my people and causes them distress.” Related by Muslim.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RAA), narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “There are two characteristics which are not combined in a believer; miserliness and bad morals.” Related by At-Tirmidhi with a weakness in its chain of narrators.

The Prophet (SAW) considered Shahadah az-Zur (giving false testimony) among the most serious of major sins. [al-Bukhari and Muslim reported it in a long Hadith].

Allah's Messenger (SAW) ruled on the basis of an oath and a single witness. [Muslim, Abu Dawud and an-Nasa'i reported it, the latter said that it has a Jayyid (good) chain or narrators].

"So if you enjoy her you will do so while crookedness remains in her; but if you attempt to straighten her you will break her, and breaking her is divorcing her."

Allah's Messenger (SAW) cursed the one who accepts usury, the one who gives it, the one who records it and the two witnesses to it, saying, "They are all the same." [Reported by Muslim].

Allah's Messenger (SAW) forbade al-Muzara'ah (employing people on land for a share of the produce), and ordered al-Mu'ajara (renting it out for cash). [Reported by Muslim].

Ibn ‘Umar reported God's messenger as saying, “The hypocrite is like a ewe which goes to and fro between two flocks, turning at one time to the one and at another time to the other.” Muslim transmitted it.

‘Abdallah b. 'Amr reported God’s messenger as saying, “God recorded the fates of all creatures 50,000 years before creating the heavens and the earth, and His throne was upon the water.” Muslim transmitted it.

The best discourse is God’s Book, the best guidance is that given by Muhammad, and the worst things are those which are novelties. Every innovation is error.” Muslim transmitted it.

‘Uthman performed ablution in places where people sat and said, “Shall I not show you how God’s messenger performed ablution?” He then performed each detail thrice. Muslim transmitted it.

Sahl b. Sa'd reported God’s messenger as saying, "In paradise there are eight gates among which is a gate called ar-Rayyan which only those who fast will enter." (Bukhari and Muslim.)

‘Abdallah b. ‘Amr reported God’s messenger as saying, ‘‘The gift to a believer is death.”( i.e. death is the means by which he gains an introduction to the delights of paradise.) Baihaqi transmitted it in Shu'ab al-iman.

Abu Musa reported God’s messenger as saying, “When the bier of a Jew, a Christian, or a Muslim passes you, stand up for it. You are not standing for its sake, but for the angels who are accompanying it.” Ahmad transmitted it.

Salama b. al-Akwa said that in the year of Autas* God's Messenger permitted a temporary marriage for three nights, but afterwards he prohibited it. *This was after the battle of Hunain in 8 A.H. Muslim transmitted it.

Zaid b. Khalid reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Shall I not tell you of the best witness? He is the one who produces his deposition before he is asked for it.” Muslim transmitted it.

"Adhere to righteousness and it is a blessing if you are able to do so. Know that the best of your deeds is prayer and that no one maintains his ablution except a believer."

I heard Abu Umamah Al-Bahil say: “I heard the Messenger of Allah(SAW) say: “The guarantor is responsible and the debt must be repaid.' ”

“Any Muslim who fights in the cause of Allah for the time between two milkings of a she-camel, he will be guaranteed Paradise.”

“One of the Mothers of the Believers had a sheep that died. The Messenger of Allah (saw) passed by it and said: ‘It would not have harmed its owners if they had made use of its hide.’”

Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "He who observes the Fajr and 'Asr (prayers) will enter Jannah."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

I used to perform prayer with the Prophet (PBUH) and his Salat was of a moderate length and his Khutbah too was moderate in length.

[Muslim].

Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The person who severs the bond of kinship will not enter Jannah".

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to supplicate: "O Allah, make the provisions of family of Muhammad (PBUH) bare subsistence."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Piety is good manner, and sin is that which creates doubt and you do not like people to know of it."

[Muslim].

The Prophet (PBUH) used to do the same.

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "It is also charity to utter a good word."

[Al- Bukhari and Muslim].

It is part of a narration that has preceded in its entirety.

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "People will continue to adhere to good as long as they hasten to break the Saum (fasting)."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

I came to the Prophet (PBUH) once and noticed the tip of Miswak (tooth-stick) on his tongue.

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "A slave becomes nearest to his Rubb when he is in prostration. So increase supplications in prostrations."

[Muslim].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "If anyone of you performs the Friday prayer, he should perform four Rak'ah (Sunnah) after it."

[Muslim].

The Prophet (PBUH) set out on Thursday for the expedition of Tabuk. He liked to set out on a journey on Thursdays.

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) ordered me to kill chameleon. He also said, "It blew (fire) on Prophet Ibrahim.

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Spitting in the mosque is a sin, and its expiation is that the spittle should be buried in earth."

I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying, "Swearing produces a ready sale for a commodity, but blots out the blessing."
