Al-Firasi asked the Messenger of Allah (saws): May I beg, Messenger of Allah? The Prophet (saws) said: No, but if there is no escape from it, beg from the upright.

The Prophet (saws) offered the noon prayer, and then rode on his mount. When he came to the hill of al-Bayda', he raised his voice in talbiyah.

I asked: Messenger of Allah, what will remove from me the obligation due for fostering a child? He said: A slave or a slave-woman.

The Prophet (saws) said: to Ali: Do not give a second look, Ali, (because) while you are not to blame for the first, you have no right to the second.

Simak reported on the authority of a man from his people, on the authority of another man from them: I saw that the standard of the Messenger of Allah (saws) was yellow.

The Prophet (saws) said: You hear (from me), and others will hear from you; and people will hear from them who heard from you.

The Prophet (saws) said: Come near, my son, mention Allah's name, eat with your right hand and eat from what is next to you.

The food the Messenger of Allah (saws) liked best was tharid made from bread and tharid made from Hays.

Abu Dawud said: It is a weak (tradition).

When I came to the Prophet (saws), he was sitting with his hands round his knees wearing the cloak the fringe of which was over his feet.

The Prophet (saws) said: Hanging down is in lower garment, shirt and turban. If anyone trails any of them conceitedly, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.

I had a hanging lock of hair. My mother said to me: I shall not cut it, for the Messenger of Allah (saws) used to stretch it our and hold it.

The Prophet (saws) had a man's hand cut off who had stolen from the place reserved for women a shield whose price was three dirhams.

The Prophet (saws) said: None of my Companions must tell me anything about anyone, for I like to come out to you with no ill-feelings.

The Prophet (saws) said: Allah has revealed to me that you must be humble, so that no one oppresses another and boasts over another.

The Prophet (saws) said: When you hear the barking of dogs and the braying of asses at night, seek refuge in Allah, for they see which you do not see.

The last words which the Messenger of Allah (saws) spoke were: Prayer, prayer; fear Allah about those whom your right hands possess.

The Messenger of Allah(saws) as saying A tenth is payable on what is watered by rain or rivers or brooks or from underground moisture and a twentieth on what is watered by draught camels.

When the Messenger of Allah (saws) was alive, we used to say: The most excellent member of the community of the Prophet (saws) after himself is Abu Bakr, then ‘Umar, then 'Uthman.

Abu Huraira told that two men disputed about an animal but could produce no proof, so the Prophet said, “Cast lots about the oath.” Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Buraida reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The covenant between us and them is prayer, so if anyone abandons it he has become an infidel.” Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Nasa’i and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Ibn Mas'ud said that the extent of the shadow when God’s Messenger prayed the noon prayer was three to five feet in summer and five to seven feet in winter. Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Umar reported God’s Messenger as saying, “If anyone misses the afternoon prayer, it is as though he had been cut off from his family and his property.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Abu Mahdhura said that the Prophet taught him the adhan as consisting of nineteen words, and the iqama as consisting of seventeen words. Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Nasa’i, Darimi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Abbas said that God’s Messenger cursed women who visited graves, people who put mosques there and those who lit lamps there. Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi and Nasa’i transmitted it.

Qabisa b. Hulb quoted his father as saying that God’s Messenger would lead them in prayer and hold his left hand in his right. Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Abu Humaid as-Sa‘idi said that when God’s Messenger stood up to pray, he faced the qibla, raised his hands and said, “God is most great." Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Abbas said that the Prophet prostrated himself when reciting Sad (Al-Qur’an; 38) and said, "David made this prostration in repentance, but we do it out of gratitude.” Nasa’i transmitted it.

Abu Ayyub al-Ansari reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The gates of heaven are opened for four rak'as containing no taslim before the noon prayer.” Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Umm Salama said the Prophet used to pray two rak'as after the witr. Tirmidhi transmitted it, and Ibn Majah added that they were short ones which he prayed while sitting.

Ibn ‘Abbas said, “God has prescribed the prayer by the tongue of your Prophet as four rak'as when resident, two when travelling, and one when danger is present.” Muslim transmitted it.

Samura b. Jundub said that God’s Messenger led them in prayer during an eclipse, but that they did not hear what he said. Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Nasa’i and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Abbas reported the Prophet as saying, “At the end of time there will be people who will use this black dye like the crops of doves who will not experience the fragrance of paradise.” Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it.

Abu Huraira told that God’s messenger was brought some meat, and when the foreleg, which was a part he liked, was offered to him he took a bite of it. Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Abu Malik al-Ash'ari told of hearing God’s messenger say, “Some of my people will assuredly drink wine calling it by another name.” Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

“There is a remedy in three things: the incision of a cupping-glass, a drink of honey, or cauterization by fire, but I forbid my people to cauterize.” Bukhari transmitted.it.

Ibn ‘Umar told that God's Messenger used to give to some of the detachments he sent out booty for themselves in particular apart from the division made to the whole army. (Bukhari and Muslim.)

Anas reported the Prophet as saying, "My intercession will be for those of my people who have committed major sins." Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it, and Ibn Majah transmitted it on Jabir's authority.

Jubayr ibn Mu'tim reported that he heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, "The one who severs ties of kinship will not enter the Garden."

Jarir ibn 'Abdullah said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, 'Allah will not show mercy to someone who does not show mercy to people."

Sahl ibn Sa'd reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "I and the guardian of the orphan will be in the Garden like that," indicating his forefinger and middle finger.

Nafi' ibn al-Harith reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Part of a man's happiness is a spacious dwelling, a good neighbour, and a good mount."

Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Right guidance, good behaviour and aiming for what is just and correct is a seventieth part of prophethood."

Ibn 'Abbas reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Right guidance, correct behaviour and being moderate form a twenty-fifth portion of prophethood."

'Alqama ibn Wa'il reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "None of you should say 'kurm.' Rather use 'habala' for grape-vines."

Anas ibn Malik said, "Abu Talha used to kneel before the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and sprinkle water on his quiver and say:

Hanzala ibn Hidhaym said, "The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to like to call a man by the name that he liked best and by his favourite kunya."

Ibn 'Abbas said, "Return the greeting to whomever it is, Jew, Christian, or Magian. That is because Allah says, 'When you are greeted with a greeting, greet with one better than it or return it.' (4:86)"

Ibn 'Umar reported something similar from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He stated, "We said, 'If there are four?' He said, 'Then it will not harm him.'"

Nafi' reported that a group of the people of Iraq visited Ibn 'Umar. They saw a gold crown on one of their servants and looked at one another. He remarked, "How quick you are to see evil!"

Narrated (rad): Allah’s Messenger (saw) said, "When the skin is tanned it becomes purified.” [Reported by Muslim]. Al-Arba’a have the words: "Any skin that is tanned ... "

Allah’s Messenger (rad) said, “When you perform ablution, begin with your right limbs”. [Reported by Al-Arba’a and garded Sahih by Ibn Khuzaima].

The Prophet (saw) performed ablution and passed wet hands on his forelock, over the turban and over the two leather socks. [ Reported by Muslim].

“Ablution is necessary for one who sleeps while he is lying flat. [Reported by Abu Da’ud and there is weakness in its chain of narrators].

Jabir bin Samurah (RAA) narrated, ‘A man who killed himself with a broad-headed arrow, was brought to the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) but he did not offer the funeral prayer for him.’ Related by Muslim.

Al-Maisur bin Makhramah (RAA) narrated, ‘The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) sacrificed his animal before he shaved and commanded his companions to do so.’ Related by Al-Bukhari.

Anas (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “The atonement of backbiting a man is to ask Allah to forgive him.” Related by Al-Harith bin Abu Usamah with a weak chain of narrators.

Ibn Mas’ud (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) Said, “O Allah You have made my creation perfect, so make my moral characteristics also be the best.”

At-Taialisi transmitted on the authority of 'Amro bin al-'As (RAA), ‘The right of giving protection to non-Muslims is extended to the most humble of the believers (and all Muslims must respect it and give him support).’

Sahl bin Sa'd (RAA) narrated That the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, "People will always be fine (on the right path, or following the Sunnah) as long as they hasten to break their fast (in Ramadan)." Agreed upon.

Ibn 'Abbas (RAA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) had himself cupped while he was in a state of Ihram, and had himself cupped while he was fasting.’’ Related by Al-Bukhari.

Jabir (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "If a large quantity of any beverage intoxicates, then a small amount of it is prohibited." Related by Ahmad and the four Imams. Ibn Hibban graded it as Sahih.

Sa'id bin Zaid (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Whoever is killed while protecting his property, he is a martyr." Related by the four Imams and At-Tirmidhi graded it as Sahih.

Abu Sa'id Khudri (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "The (legal) slaughtering of the fetus is included when its mother is slaughtered." Related by Ahmad and Ibn Hibban graded it as Sahih.

The Prophet (SAW) forbade making vows, and said, "It does not bring good. Indeed, it is only a means by which something is extracted from the miserly." [Agreed upon].

"If anyone makes his wife unlawful for himself - it is nothing." He said, "Indeed you have a good example in Allah's Messenger." [Reported by al-Bukhari].

If anyone buys a goat whose udder has been tied up and he returned it, he must return it with one Sa'. [Reported by al-Bukhari].

The Prophet (SAW) forbade selling a debt to be paid at a future date for another i.e., a debt for a debt. [Reported by Ishaq and al-Bazzar with a Da;if (weak) chain].

Allah's Messenger (SAW), "Give the prescribed shares to those who are entitled to them, and what remains goes to the nearest male relative (of the deceased)." [Agreed upon].

The Prophet (SAW) said, "When a new born cries (at the time of birth) (and then dies), it is treated as a hair." [Reported by Abu Dawud and graded as Sahih (authentic) by Ibn Hibban].

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "When you prostrate, place the palms of your hands on the ground and raise your elbows." [Reported by Muslim).

Surat al-Hajj has been distinguished by two prostrations. [Abu Dawud reported it among al-Marasil (a broken chain after the Tabi'i)].

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "The prayer of those who are penitent is offered when the young weaned camels feel the heat of the sand." [Reported by at-Tirmidhi].

The Prophet (SAW) used to recite some verses from the Qur'an in the Friday Khutbah (religious talk - sermon), reminding the people. [Abu Dawud reported it].

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "The prayer in time of danger is one Rak'ah, in whatever manner it is (performed)." [al-Bazzar reported it through a weak chain of narrators].

He [the Prophet (SAW)] prayed during an earthquake six bowings and four prostrations, and said, "This is the way the Prayer of the Signs (of Allah) is offered. [Reported by al-Baihaqi].

Anas reported that when the Prophet came out of the privy he said, “Praise be to God who has removed harm from me and kept me in health.” Ibn Majah transmitted it.

‘A'isha said that when God’s messenger intended to engage in private devotion in the mosque he prayed the dawn prayer and then entered his place of seclusion. Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Ibn 'Abbas reported God’s messenger as saying, “Anyone who has nothing of the Qur’ān within him is like a ruined house.” Tirmidhī and Dārimī transmitted it, and Tirmidhī said this is a sahīh tradition.

Muhammad b. Hatib al-Jumahi reported the Prophet as saying, “The distinction between what is lawful and what is unlawful is the song and the tambourine at a wedding.” Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Nasa’i and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

‘A’isha reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The divorce of a slave-woman consists in saying it twice, and her 'idda period is two courses.” Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah and Darimi transmitted it.

Rafi‘ b. Khadij reported the Prophet as saying, “The hand is not to be cut off for taking fruit or the pith of the palm-tree.” Malik, Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Nasa'i, Darimi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Umar reported the Prophet as saying, “If a man seizes a man and another kills him, the one who killed him is to be killed and the one who seized him is to be imprisoned.” Daraqutni transmitted it.

Mu'adh b. Jabal said, “A man does nothing more calculated to rescue him from God’s punishment than making mention of God.” Malik, Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Jabir reported God’s messenger as saying that the most excellent way to make mention of God is to say, “There is no god but God” and that the most excellent supplication is “Praise be to God.” Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

When the Prophet (may peace be upon him) prostrated, lie spread out his arms so that the whiteness of his armpits was visible.

The Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) was leading prayer at 'Arafa.

We used to know that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) had finished his prayer when we heard the takbir (Allah-O-Akbar).

Prayer said in a congregation is twenty-seven degrees more excellent than prayer said by a single person.

" He then observed the noon prayer and then gave the sermon."

"The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'Allah refuses to accept the good deeds of one who follows innovation until he gives up that innovation.'"

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'If I were to appoint anyone as my successor without consulting anyone, I would have appointed Ibn Umm 'Abd.'"

"The Messenger of Allah forbade us from facing either of the two Qiblah when defecating or urinating."

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'There is no prayer for one who does not have ablution, and there is no ablution for one who does not mention the Name of Allah (before it).'"

'The Messenger of Allah said: 'When you get up for prayer, perform ablution properly and make the water run between your toes and your fingers.'"

The Messenger of Allah said: "The eye is the leather strap (that ties up) the anus, so whoever falls asleep, let him perform ablution."

"The Messenger of Allah milked a sheep and drank some of its milk, then he called for water and rinsed his mouth and said: 'It has some greasiness in it.'"

"The Messenger of Allah set a time limit for the traveler of three days, and if the questioner had persisted in asking, he would have made it five (days)."

On the Day of Khandaq, the Messenger of Allah said: "May Allah fill their houses and graves with fire, just as they distracted us from the middle prayer."

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Let the best of you give the call to prayer (Adhan), and let those who are most versed in the Qur'an lead you in prayer.'"

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Whoever builds a mosque for the sake of Allah (from his own wealth), Allah will build a house for him in Paradise.'"
