Sunan Abi Dawud 4686
Ibn ‘Umar reported the Prophet (May peace be upon him) as saying :
Do not turn unbelievers after me ; one of you may strike the neck of the other.

" لاَ تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ " .

Mishkat al-Masabih 2549
Khallad b. as-Sa’ib on his father’s authority reported God’s messenger as saying, “Gabriel came to me and commanded me to order my companions to raise their voices in the talbiya.” (The tradition ends by saying they were to raise their voices bil-ihlal au at-talbiya. These are alternative words meaning the same thing, and therefore I have not given any alternative in the translation)
Malik, Tirmidhi, Abd Dawud, Nasa’i, Ibn Majah and Darimi transmitted it.

Mishkat al-Masabih 2554
Ibn ‘Abbas said that the polytheists used to say, “Labbaik, Thou hast no partner," whereupon God’s messenger would say, “Woe to you ! Enough, enough; [do not add] ‘except a partner who is Thine whom Thou possessest', when He possesses none.” They used to say this when they were going round the House.
Muslim transmitted it.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: كَانَ الْمُشْرِكُونَ يَقُولُونَ: لَبَّيْكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ فَيَقُولُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «وَيْلَكُمْ قَدْ قَدْ» إِلَّا شَرِيكًا هُوَ لَكَ تَمْلِكُهُ وَمَا مَلَكَ. يَقُولُونَ هَذَا وَهُمْ يَطُوفُونَ بِالْبَيْتِ. رَوَاهُ مُسْلِمٌ

Ibn ‘Umar said that when God’s messenger observed the circumambulation at the hajj or the ‘umra immediately on his arrival, he ran three circuits and walked four, then after making two prostrations he would go between as-Safa and al-Marwa.

Ibn ‘Abbas reported God’s messenger as saying to Mecca, “What a fine town you are, and how dear you are to me! Were it not that my people expelled me from you, I would live nowhere else.”
Tirmidhi transmitted it, saying this is a hasan sahih tradition whose isnad is gharlb.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِمَكَّةَ: «مَا أَطْيَبَكِ مِنْ بَلَدٍ وَأَحَبَّكِ إِلَيَّ وَلَوْلَا أَنَّ قَوْمِي أَخْرَجُونِي مِنْكِ مَا سَكَنْتُ غَيْرَكِ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيب إِسْنَادًا

Ibn ‘Abbas said that God’s messenger commanded his companions to substitute sacrificial animals at the ’umra of Fulfilment (‘Umra al-qada' The one performed in the year after the treaty made at al-Hudaibiya) for those they had sacrificed in the year of al-Hudaibiya.
Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Mishkat al-Masabih 865
‘Amir b. Rabi'a said that they prayed the morning prayer behind ‘Umar b. al-Khattab and that he recited slowly in both rak'as Sura Yusuf and Sura al-Hajj (Al-Qur’an; 22). When someone remarked that he must have begun the prayer at break of day he replied that that was so.
Malik transmitted it.

Ibu ‘Umar said he asked Bilal how the Prophet responded to them when they greeted him while he was engaged in prayer, and he replied, “He used to make a sign with his hand.”
Tirmidhi transmitted it. In Nasa'i’s version there is something similar, but Suhaib occurs instead of Bilal.

Sulaiman, client of Maimuna said:
We came to Ibn ‘Umar at al- Balat* when the people were praying, and I remarked on the fact that he was not praying along with the people. He replied that he had already prayed and that he had heard God’s Messenger say, “Do not pray a prayer twice on the same day.”
* A square paved with stones between the Prophet's mosque and the market-place in Medina.
Ahmad, Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it.
وَعَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ مَوْلَى مَيْمُونَةَ قَالَ: أَتَيْنَا ابْنَ عُمَرَ عَلَى الْبَلَاطِ وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ. فَقُلْتُ: أَلَا تُصَلِّي مَعَهُمْ؟ فَقَالَ: قَدْ صَلَّيْتُ وَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُول الله يَقُولُ: «لَا تُصَلُّوا صَلَاةً فِي يَوْمٍ مَرَّتَيْنِ» . رَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَأَبُو دَاوُد وَالنَّسَائِيّ

Ibn ‘Abbas told how the Prophet said, when a man cursed the wind in his presence, "Do not curse the wind, for it is under command; if anyone curses a thing which does not deserve it, the curse will return on himself."
Tirmidhi transmitted it and said this is a gharib tradition.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا لَعَنَ الرِّيحَ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ: «لَا تَلْعَنُوا الرِّيحَ فَإِنَّهَا مَأْمُورَةٌ وَأَنَّهُ مَنْ لَعَنَ شَيْئًا لَيْسَ لَهُ بِأَهْلٍ رَجَعَتِ اللَّعْنَةُ عَلَيْهِ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ

‘Ikrima told that when he saw Ibn ‘Abbas putting on a lower garment, letting the hem in front fall on the top of his foot and raising it behind, he asked why he did it that way and he replied that that was how he had seen God’s messenger do it.

Ibn `Umar reported the Prophet as saying, "The inhabitants of hell will become huge in hell so that the space between the lobe of the ear and the shoulder of one of them will be a journey of seven hundred years, the thickness of his skin will be seventy cubits, and his molar tooth will be like Uhud."

Abu Huraira reported God's messenger as saying, "Only he who is miserable will enter hell." He was asked to whom that referred and replied, "He who has not done an act of obedience for God's sake, or left an act of disobedience undone."

Anas used to tell of the Prophet that he would visit the sick, attend funerals, accept a slave's invitation, and ride on a donkey. He said he had seen him on a donkey at the battle for Khaibar using a rein of palm-fibres.

Abu Hurayra reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him

Ibn 'Abbas said, "None of you should say about a thing which he

Salim said, "Ibn 'Umar, Nu'aym and I were circumcised and they
sacrificed a ram on our behalf. I think that we were more happy about it
than the other children since a ram had been sacrificed on our behalf."
حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حَمْزَةَ قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنِي سَالِمٌ قَالَ: خَتَنَنِي ابْنُ عُمَرَ أَنَا وَنُعَيْمًا، فَذَبَحَ عَلَيْنَا كَبْشًا، فَلَقَدْ رَأَيْتُنَا وَإِنَّا لَنَجْذَلُ بِهِ عَلَى الصِّبْيَانِ أَنْ ذَبَحَ عَنَّا كَبْشًا.

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 1265
Ibn 'Abbas said that the words of Allah in Luqman (35:6), "There
are people who trade in distracting tales" mean "singing and things
like it."

Ibn 'Umar said, "Modesty and belief are together. If one of them

Ibn 'Abbas said, "The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him

Bulugh al-Maram 101
Narrated Ibn Mas’ud (rad):
The Prophet (saw) went out to answer the call of nature and asked me to bring three stones. I found two stones and searched for the third but could not find it. So I took a dried piece of dung and brought it to him. He took the two stones and threw away the dung and said, “This is a filthy thing”. [Reported by Al-Bukhari]
وَعَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: { أَتَى اَلنَّبِيُّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -اَلْغَائِطَ, فَأَمَرَنِي أَنْ آتِيَهُ بِثَلَاثَةِ أَحْجَارٍ, فَوَجَدْتُ حَجَرَيْنِ, وَلَمْ أَجِدْ ثَالِثًا. فَأَتَيْتُهُ بِرَوْثَةٍ. فَأَخَذَهُمَا وَأَلْقَى اَلرَّوْثَةَ, وَقَالَ:
"هَذَا رِكْسٌ" } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلْبُخَارِيّ ُ 1 .

Bulugh al-Maram 709
A’ishah (RAA) narrated, ‘I once asked the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) ‘O Messenger of Allah! Is Jihad incumbent upon women? He replied, “Yes. They have to take part in Jihad in which no fighting takes place, which is:
Hajj and 'Umrah." Related by Ahmad and Ibn Majah and the wording is his. It is reported with a sound chain of narrators.
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: { قُلْتُ: يَا رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ! عَلَى اَلنِّسَاءِ جِهَادٌ ? قَالَ:
" نَعَمْ, عَلَيْهِنَّ جِهَادٌ لَا قِتَالَ فِيهِ: اَلْحَجُّ, وَالْعُمْرَةُ " } رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ, وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ وَاللَّفْظُ لَهُ, وَإِسْنَادُهُ صَحِيحٌ 1 وَأَصْلُهُ فِي اَلصَّحِيحِ 2 .

’Abdur Rahman bin Al-Bailamani narrated that The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) killed a Muslim who killed a Mu'ahid who had made a covenant with the Muslims, and said, “I am closest to the ones who keep their covenants of protection.” Related by 'Abdur Razzaq.
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ اَلرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْبَيْلَمَانِيِّ; { أَنَّ اَلنَّبِيَّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -قَتَلَ مُسْلِمًا بِمَعَاهِدٍ. وَقَالَ: "أَنَا أَوْلَى مَنْ وَفَى بِذِمَّتِهِ } . أَخْرَجَهُ عَبْدُ اَلرَّزَّاقِ هَكَذَا مُرْسَلًا. وَوَصَلَهُ اَلدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ, بِذِكْرِ اِبْنِ عُمَرَ فِيهِ, وَإِسْنَادُ اَلْمَوْصُولِ وَاهٍ 1 .

Ibn Mas’ud (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “When three of you get together in company, two of you must not talk privately while isolating the third, so as not to make him feel sad (that he is left out) till you mingle with other people (i.e. you are joined by others).” Agreed upon and the wording is from Muslim.
وَعَنْ اِبْنِ مَسْعُودٍ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ إِذَا كُنْتُمْ ثَلَاثَةً, فَلَا يَتَنَاجَى اِثْنَانِ دُونَ اَلْآخَرِ, حَتَّى تَخْتَلِطُوا بِالنَّاسِ; مِنْ أَجْلِ أَنَّ ذَلِكَ يُحْزِنُهُ } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ, وَاللَّفْظُ لِمُسْلِمٍ. 1 .

Ibn Umar (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “If anyone seeks refuge in Allah’s name, grant him protection; if anyone asks you for something in Allah’s name give him something; and if anyone does you a favor recompense him, but if you do not have the means to do so, make Dua (supplication) for him.” Related by Al-Baihaqi.
وَعَنْ اِبْنِ عُمَرَ -رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا- قَالَ: عَنِ النَّبِيِّ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -قَالَ: { مِنْ اسْتَعَاذَكُمْ بِاَللَّهِ فَأَعِيذُوهُ, وَمَنْ سَأَلَكُمْ بِاَللَّهِ فَأَعْطُوهُ, وَمَنْ أَتَى إِلَيْكُمْ مَعْرُوفًا فَكَافِئُوهُ, فَإِنْ لَمْ تَجِدُوا, فَادْعُوا لَهُ } أَخْرَجَهُ اَلْبَيْهَقِيُّ. 1 .

Abu Hurairah (RAA) narrated that Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said, "He who can afford it but did not offer a sacrifice must not come near our place of prayer." Related by Ahmad and Ibn Majah. Al-Hakim graded it as Sahih. Other Imams said that it is Mawquf (i.e. it is not connected to the Prophet (PBUH).)
وَعَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -{
"مَنْ كَانَ لَهُ سَعَةٌ وَلَمْ يُضَحِّ, فَلَا يَقْرَبَنَّ مُصَلَّانَا" } رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ, وَابْنُ مَاجَه, وَصَحَّحَهُ اَلْحَاكِمُ, لَكِنْ رَجَّحَ اَلْأَئِمَّةُ غَيْرُهُ وَقْفَه ُ (1767) .

Narrated Ibn Abbas (RA):
Sa'd bin Ubada asked Allah's Messenger (SAW) for a ruling regarding a vow taken by his mother who had died before fulfilling it, and he said, "Fulfill it on her behalf." [Agreed upon].
وَعَنْ اِبْنِ عَبَّاسٍ رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا قَالَ: { اِسْتَفْتَى سَعْدُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ - رضى الله عنه - رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -فِي نَذْرٍ كَانَ عَلَى أُمِّهِ, تُوُفِّيَتْ قَبْلِ أَنْ تَقْضِيَهُ ? فَقَالَ:
"اِقْضِهِ عَنْهَا" } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ 1 .

Narrated 'Amr bin Shu'aib on his father's authority from his grandfather (RA):
Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "One who kills a man cannot inherit anything from him."
[Reported by an-Nasa'i and ad-Daraqutni. Ibn 'Abdul-Barr graded it Qawiy (strong), while an-Nasa'i declared it to be defective. The right opinion is that it is Mawquf (a saying of a Companion) from 'Umar].
وَعَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ , عَنْ أَبِيهِ , عَنْ جَدِّهِ قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ لَيْسَ لِلْقَاتِلِ مِنَ الْمِيرَاثِ شَيْءٌ } رَوَاهُ النَّسَائِيُّ , وَاَلدَّارَقُطْنِيُّ , وَقَوَّاهُ اِبْنُ عَبْدِ اَلْبَرِّ , وَأَعَلَّهُ النَّسَائِيُّ , وَالصَّوَابُ: وَقْفُهُ عَلَى عُمَرَ 1 .

Narrated Abu Umamah (RA):
Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "Whoever recites Ayat al-Kursi at the end of every obligatory prayer, nothing but death will prevent him from entering Paradise."
[An-Nasa'i reported it, and Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (authentic).
وَعَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ مَنْ قَرَأَ آيَةَ اَلْكُرْسِيِّ دُبُرَ كُلِّ صَلَاةٍ مَكْتُوبَةٍ لَمْ يَمْنَعْهُ مِنْ دُخُولِ اَلْجَنَّةِ إِلَّا اَلْمَوْتُ } رَوَاهُ النَّسَائِيُّ , وَصَحَّحَهُ اِبْنُ حِبَّانَ . 1

Narrated Wabisah bin Ma'bad:
Allah's Messenger (SAW) saw a man praying alone behind the row so he ordered him to repeat the Salat (prayer).
[Reported by Ahmad, Abu Dawud and at-Tirmidhi. The latter graded it Hasan, and Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (authentic)].
وَعَنْ وَابِصَةَ بْنِ مَعْبَدٍ ]اَلْجُهَنِيِّ] - رضى الله عنه - أَنَّ رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -{ رَأَى رَجُلًا يُصَلِّي خَلْفَ اَلصَّفِّ وَحْدَهُ, فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُعِيدَ اَلصَّلَاةَ. } رَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ, وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ, وَاَلتِّرْمِذِيُّ وَحَسَّنَهُ, وَصَحَّحَهُ اِبْنُ حِبَّانَ . 1 .

Mishkat al-Masabih 460
‘Ali said, “The Prophet used to come out of the privy, recite the Qur’an to us and eat meat with us, nothing restraining him from the Qur’an but seminal defilement.”
Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it, and Ibn Majah transmitted something similar.
وَعَن عَليّ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْرُجُ مِنَ الْخَلَاءِ فَيُقْرِئُنَا الْقُرْآنَ وَيَأْكُلُ مَعَنَا اللَّحْم وَلم يكن يَحْجُبْهُ أَوْ يَحْجُزْهُ عَنِ الْقُرْآنِ شَيْءٌ لَيْسَ الْجَنَابَةَ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَالنَّسَائِيُّ وَرَوَى ابْنُ مَاجَهْ نَحوه

Mishkat al-Masabih 511
Salma b. al-Muhabbiq said that on the expedition to Tabuk [In the year 9 A.H.] God’s messenger came to a household, and seeing a bucket hanging, asked for water. They told him that the animal had died a natural death, but he replied, “Its tanning is its purification.”
Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted it.
وَعَن سَلمَة ابْن المحبق: أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزْوَة تَبُوك أَتَى على بَيْتٍ فَإِذَا قِرْبَةٌ مُعَلَّقَةٌ فَسَأَلَ الْمَاءَ فَقَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ: «فَقَالَ دِبَاغُهَا طهورها» . رَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَأَبُو دَاوُد

Mishkat al-Masabih 2102, 2103
Anas said that the Prophet was accustomed to engage in private devotion in the mosque during the last ten nights of Ramadan; but one year he omitted it and he engaged in it during twenty nights the next year.
Tirmidhi transmitted it, and Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it from Ubayy b. Ka'b.
عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْتَكِفُ فِي الْعَشْرِ الْأَوَاخِرِ مِنْ رَمَضَانَ فَلَمْ يَعْتَكِفْ عَامًا. فَلَمَّا كَانَ الْعَامُ الْمقبل اعْتكف عشْرين. رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ

Mishkat al-Masabih 1569
‘Abdallah b. [ash-] Shikhkhir reported God’s messenger as saying, “The son of Adam was created with ninety-nine trials at his side. If the trials miss him he falls into decrepitude till he dies.”
Tirmidhi transmitted it, saying that this is a gharib tradition.
وَعَن عبد الله بن شخير قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مُثِّلَ ابْنُ آدَمَ وَإِلَى جَنْبِهِ تِسْعٌ وَتِسْعُونَ مَنِيَّةً إِنْ أَخْطَأَتْهُ الْمَنَايَا وَقَعَ فِي الْهَرَمِ حَتَّى يَمُوتَ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَقَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ

Mishkat al-Masabih 1572
Abu Sa'id reported God’s messenger as saying, "When you go in to visit an invalid, express a hope that he will live long. That will not avert anything, but it will comfort him.”
Tirmidhl and Ibn Majah transmitted it, and Tirmidhi said this is a gharib tradition.
وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِذَا دَخَلْتُمْ عَلَى الْمَرِيضِ فَنَفِّسُوا لَهُ فِي أَجَلِهِ فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَا يَرُدُّ شَيْئًا وَيُطَيِّبُ بِنَفْسِهِ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ وَقَالَ التِّرْمِذِيُّ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ

Mishkat al-Masabih 1623
‘A’isha said that God’s messenger kissed ‘Uthman b. Maz'un (The first of the Emigrants to die in Medina after returning from Badr) when he was dead, and the Prophet wept so much that his tears flowed over ‘Uthman's face.
Tirmidhl, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it.
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ قَالَتْ: إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَبَّلَ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ مَظْعُونٍ وَهُوَ مَيِّتٌ وَهُوَ يَبْكِي حَتَّى سَالَ دُمُوعُ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَلَى وَجْهِ عُثْمَانَ. رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَأَبُو دَاوُدَ وَابْنُ مَاجَهْ

Mishkat al-Masabih 1638
Ibn 'Abbas reported God’s messenger as saying, “Wear your white garments, for they are among your best garments, and shroud your dead in them. Among the best types of collyrium you use is antimony (ithmid) for it makes the hair sprout and clears the vision."
Abu Da wad and Tirmidhi transmitted it, and Ibn Majah transmitted' up to “shroud your dead in them."
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْبَسُوا مِنْ ثِيَابِكُمُ الْبَيَاضَ فَإِنَّهَا مَنْ خَيْرِ ثِيَابِكُمْ وَكَفِّنُوا فِيهَا مَوْتَاكُمْ وَمِنْ خَيْرِ أَكْحَالِكُمُ الْإِثْمِدُ فَإِنَّهُ يُنْبِتُ الشّعْر ويجلوا الْبَصَر» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ

Mishkat al-Masabih 1668
Zuhri said that Salim reported his father as saying, “I saw God’s messenger, Abu Bakr and ‘Umar walking in front of the bier.”
Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasa'i and Ibn Majah transmitted it, and Tirmidhi said the traditionists seem to consider it is in mursat form.

Mishkat al-Masabih 1706
He told that the Prophet entered a grave during the night, and when a lamp was lit for him he faced the qibla and said, “God have mercy on you if you were devoted to supplication with tears (The Arabic is awwah which cannot easily be translated by one word. It is variously explained as meaning one much given to sighing through fear of God, one much given to supplication from love of God, one much given to weeping from fefir, or one much given to prayer asking for God’s mercy. Cf. Mirqat, ii, 376) and to the recitation of the Qur’an.”
Tirmidhi transmitted it, but in Sharh as- sunna its isnad is said to be weak.

Mishkat al-Masabih 2204
Al-Laith b. Sa‘d quoted Ibn Abū Mulaika who quoted Yā'lā b. Mamlak as saying that he asked Umm Salama about the manner in which the Prophet recited, and she described it in a manner by which it was explained word by word.*
*This is explained as meaning that she showed how he pronounced each syllable distinctly, or simply that she gave an illustration of the fine quality of the Prophet’s recitation.

Sa'id b. al-Musayyib told that ‘Umar b. al-Khattab killed five or seven people for one man whom they had killed treacherously, ‘Umar saying. “If the people of San'a’ had conspired against him I would have killed them all.”
Malik transmitted it, and Bukhari transmitted something similar on the authority of Ibn ‘Umar.

Sahih Muslim 1102 a
Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with both of them) said that the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) forbade uninterrupted fasting. They (some of the Companions) said:
You yourself fast uninterruptedly, whereupon he said: I am not like you. I am fed and supplied drink (by Allah).

He who is anxious to seek it (Lailat-ul-Qadr) should seek it in the last ten (nights of Ramadan).

It was
narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:
“The Prophet (saw) used to pray
the night prayer two Rak’ah by two Rak’ah.”
حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ وَكِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَثَّامُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يُصَلِّي بِاللَّيْلِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ .

narrated that Jabir bin ‘Abdullah said:
“The Prophet (saw) was
asked: ‘Which prayer is best?’ He said: ‘That with the longer
Qunut.’”
حَدَّثَنَا بَكْرُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ أَبُو بِشْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ سُئِلَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ أَىُّ الصَّلاَةِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ
" طُولُ الْقُنُوتِ " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 1532
It was
narrated from Ibn Buraidah from his father that the Prophet
(SAW)
offered the funeral prayer for a deceased person after he had
been
buried.

narrated from ‘Aishah that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) gave
permission for visiting the graves.
حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ، حَدَّثَنَا بِسْطَامُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ أَبَا التَّيَّاحِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ رَخَّصَ فِي زِيَارَةِ الْقُبُورِ .

Dying in a strange land is martyrdom.”
حَدَّثَنَا جَمِيلُ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْمُنْذِرِ الْهُذَيْلُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ
" مَوْتُ غُرْبَةٍ شَهَادَةٌ " .
