Sunan Abi Dawud 760
‘Ali b. Ali Talib said:
When the Messenger of Allah (saws) stood up for prayer, he uttered the takbir (Allah is most great), then said: I have turned my face, breaking with all others, towards Him Who created the heavens and the earth, and I am not a polytheist. My prayer and my devotion, my life and my death belong to Allah, the Lord of the Universe, Who has no partner. That is what I have been commanded, and I am first of Muslims (those who surrender themselves). O Allah, Thou art the King. There is no God but Thee. Thou art my Lord and I am Thy servant. I have wronged myself, but I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me all my sins; Thou Who alone canst forgive sins; and guide me to the best qualities. Thou Who alone canst guide to the best of them; and turn me from evil ones. Thou who alone canst turn from evil qualities. I come to serve and please Thee. All good is in Thy Hands, and evil does not pertain to Thee. I seek refuge in Thee and turn to Thee, Who art blessed and exalted. I ask Thy forgiveness and turn to thee in repentance. When he bowed, he said: O Allah, to Thee I bow, in Thee I trust, and to Thee I submit myself. My hearing, my sight, my brain, my bone and my sinews humble themselves before Thee. When he raised his head, he said: Allah listens to him who praises Him. O our lord, and all praises be to Thee in the whole of the heavens and the earth, and what is between them, and in whatever Thou creates afterwards. When he prostrated himself, he said: O Allah, to Thee I prostrate myself, to Thee I trust, and to Thee I submit myself. My face prostrated itself before Him Who created it, fashioned it, and fashioned it in the best shape, and brought forth its hearing and seeing. Blessed is Allah, the best of creators. When he saluted at the end of the prayer, he said: O Allah, forgive me my former and my latter sins, my open and secret sins, my sins in exceeding the limits, and what Thou knowest better than I. Thou art He Who puts forward and puts back. There is deity but Thee.
حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ الْمَاجِشُونِ بْنِ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي رَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا قَامَ إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ كَبَّرَ ثُمَّ قَالَ " وَجَّهْتُ وَجْهِيَ لِلَّذِي فَطَرَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ حَنِيفًا مُسْلِمًا وَمَا أَنَا مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ إِنَّ صَلاَتِي وَنُسُكِي وَمَحْيَاىَ وَمَمَاتِي لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِينَ لاَ شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَبِذَلِكَ أُمِرْتُ وَأَنَا أَوَّلُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ الْمَلِكُ لاَ إِلَهَ لِي إِلاَّ أَنْتَ أَنْتَ رَبِّي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ ظَلَمْتُ نَفْسِي وَاعْتَرَفْتُ بِذَنْبِي فَاغْفِرْ لِي ذُنُوبِي جَمِيعًا إِنَّهُ لاَ يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوبَ إِلاَّ أَنْتَ وَاهْدِنِي لأَحْسَنِ الأَخْلاَقِ لاَ يَهْدِي لأَحْسَنِهَا إِلاَّ أَنْتَ وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّي سَيِّئَهَا لاَ يَصْرِفُ سَيِّئَهَا إِلاَّ أَنْتَ لَبَّيْكَ وَسَعْدَيْكَ وَالْخَيْرُ كُلُّهُ فِي يَدَيْكَ وَالشَّرُّ لَيْسَ إِلَيْكَ أَنَا بِكَ وَإِلَيْكَ تَبَارَكْتَ وَتَعَالَيْتَ أَسْتَغْفِرُكَ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْكَ " . وَإِذَا رَكَعَ قَالَ " اللَّهُمَّ لَكَ رَكَعْتُ وَبِكَ آمَنْتُ وَلَكَ أَسْلَمْتُ خَشَعَ لَكَ سَمْعِي وَبَصَرِي وَمُخِّي وَعِظَامِي وَعَصَبِي " . وَإِذَا رَفَعَ قَالَ " ...

Anas reported:
When the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) entered the privy, and in the hadith transmitted by Hushaim (the words are): When the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) entered the lavatory, be used to say: O Allah, I seek refuge in Thee from wicked and noxious things.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، أَخْبَرَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ، وَقَالَ، يَحْيَى أَيْضًا أَخْبَرَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ صُهَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، - فِي حَدِيثِ حَمَّادٍ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِذَا دَخَلَ الْخَلاَءَ وَفِي حَدِيثِ هُشَيْمٍ - أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ إِذَا دَخَلَ الْكَنِيفَ قَالَ
" اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبْثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ " .

Sunan Abi Dawud 2134
Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin:
The Messenger of Allah (saws) used to divide his time equally and said: O Allah, this is my division concerning what I control, so do not blame me concerning what You control and I do not.
Abu Dawud said: By it meant the heart.
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ الْخَطْمِيِّ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقْسِمُ فَيَعْدِلُ وَيَقُولُ

Mishkat al-Masabih 2499
Abu Huraira said that a supplication he had learned from God’s messenger and which he would never give up was, “O God, make me thank Thee greatly, keep Thee in my memory often, follow Thy counsel, and keep Thy injunction.”

Abu Huraira reported God’s Messenger as saying:
When the imam says, “God listens to him who praises Him," say, “O God, our Lord, to Thee be the praise for if what anyone says synchronises with what the angels say, he will be forgiven his past sins.

'Amr b. Shu'aib, on his father’s authority, quoted his grandfather as saying that when the Prophet prayed for rain he said, "O God, provide water for Thy servants and Thy cattle, display Thy mercy and give life to Thy dead land.”
Malik and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Abu Hurayra reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and

and make them remain sound until I die. Turn away my enemy and grant me
revenge on him."

It is reported by Salim bin Abdullah on the authority of his father (Abdullah bin Umar (ra)) that when the prophet (saws) heard a thunder-clap or a thunder-bolt, he would make this supplication:
“O Allah, slay us not with your lightening and destroy us not with your punishment. But, preserve us before that.”

Narrated Umm Salam (rad):
Umm Sulaim, the wife Abu Talha said, “O Allah’s Messenger! Allah is not ashamed of the truth. Is a Ghusl (bath) compulsory for a woman when she has a sexual dream?” He (saw) replied, “Yes! When she sees signs of liquid” [Agreed upon].
] وَعَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ; أَنَّ أُمَّ سُلَيْمٍ -وَهِيَ اِمْرَأَةُ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ- قَالَتْ: { يَا رَسُولَ اَللَّهِ! إِنَّ اَللَّهَ لَا يَسْتَحِي مِنْ اَلْحَقِّ, فَهَلْ عَلَى اَلْمَرْأَةِ اَلْغُسْلُ إِذَا اِحْتَلَمَتْ? قَالَ:

Ibn 'Umar (RAA) narrated, ‘The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) used to supplicate saying, “O Allah! I seek refuge in you from the withholding of your favor, the decline of the good health you have given, the suddenness of your vengeance and from all forms of your wrath.” Related by Muslim.
وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ -رَضِيَ اَللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا- قَالَ: كَانَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -يَقُولُ: { اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ زَوَالِ نِعْمَتِكَ, وَتَحَوُّلِ عَافِيَتِكَ, وَفَجْأَةِ نِقْمَتِكَ, وَجَمِيعِ سَخَطِكَ } أَخْرَجَهُ مُسْلِمٌ . 1 .

Narrated Abu Hurairah (RA):
The Prophet (SAW) said, "O Sons of Bayada', marry to Abu Hind (someone of your women) and marry from his women (i.e. his daughters), (even though) he was a cupper.

It was narrated that Anas said:
"Banu Salimah wanted to move from their homes to somewhere near the mosque, but the Prophet did not want the outskirts of Al-madinah to be left vacant, so he said: 'O Banu Salimah, do you not hope for the reward of your footsteps?' So they stayed (where they were)."

" يَا بَنِي سَلِمَةَ أَلاَ تَحْتَسِبُونَ آثَارَكُمْ " . فَأَقَامُوا .

It was narrated from Umm Salamah that:
the Messenger of Allah (SAW) swore to keep away from some of his wives for a month. On the twenty-ninth day, in the evening or the morning, it was said: "O Messenger of Allah, only twenty-nine days have passed." He said: "The month is twenty-nine days."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السُّلَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ آلَى مِنْ بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ شَهْرًا فَلَمَّا كَانَ تِسْعَةً وَعِشْرِينَ رَاحَ أَوْ غَدَا . فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّمَا مَضَى تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ . فَقَالَ
" الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ " .

It was narrated that Jabir said:
“The Messenger of Allah (SAW) ruled that the blood money should be paid by the near male relations from the father's side of the killer, and the such relatives of slain woman said: 'O Messenger of Allah (SAW),her legacy is for us.' He said: 'No, her legacy is for her husband and children.'”

" لاَ مِيرَاثُهَا لِزَوْجِهَا وَوَلَدِهَا " .

narrated from Muhammad bin Safwan that he passed by the

with two rabbits hanging down. He said:
“O Messenger of

caught these two rabbits but I cannot find any iron* with
which to
slaughter them with Marwah** and eat them?” He said: “Eat.”

" كُلْ " .

It was
narrated from Abu Hurairah that when the first fruits (of the
season)
were brought, the Messenger of Allah (saw) would say:
“O
Allah,
bless us in our city and in our fruits, in our Mudd and in our
Sa’,*
blessing upon blessing.” Then he would give it to the smallest
of
the children present.

" اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي مَدِينَتِنَا وَفِي ثِمَارِنَا وَفِي مُدِّنَا وَفِي صَاعِنَا بَرَكَةً مَعَ بَرَكَةٍ " . ثُمَّ يُنَاوِلُهُ أَصْغَرَ مَنْ بِحَضْرَتِهِ مِنَ الْوِلْدَانِ .

narrated that ‘Aishah said:
“The Messenger of Allah (saw)

the house and saw a piece of bread that had been thrown (on

floor). He picked it up, wiped it and ate it, and said: ‘O
‘Aishah,
show honor to the precious (i.e., food), for is the blessing
of food
departs from people, it never comes back.’”

you would not (be able to) do it, and if you did not do
it you would
be punished.’”

the Farewell
Pilgrimage.”

nafthihi (O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the accursed
Satan, from
his madness, his pride, and his poetry).”

“Be moderate and adhere to moderation, for there is no one among
you who will be saved by his deeds.” They said: “Not even you, O
Messenger of Allah?” He said: “Not even me. Unless Allah
encompasses
me with mercy and grace from Him.”

" الْمَرْءُ مَعَ مَنْ أَحَبَّ ". تَابَعَهُ جَرِيرُ بْنُ حَازِمٍ وَسُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ قَرْمٍ وَأَبُو عَوَانَةَ عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Shu'aib bin Harb reported from Malik, from Zubaid, from Ibn Abza, from his father, who said:
"The Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to recite in witr: Glorify the Name of your Lord, the Most High;" and "Say: O you disbelievers!;' and 'Say: He is Allah, (the) One.'"

" اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْخُبُثِ وَالْخَبَائِثِ ". تَابَعَهُ ابْنُ عَرْعَرَةَ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ. وَقَالَ غُنْدَرٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ إِذَا أَتَى الْخَلاَءَ. وَقَالَ مُوسَى عَنْ حَمَّادٍ إِذَا دَخَلَ. وَقَالَ سَعِيدُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ.

Abu Az-Zubair narrated that he heard Jabir bin Abdullah say:
"I saw the Messneger of Allah stone the Jamrat while on his camel saying: "O people, learn your rituals (of Hajj) for I do not know whether I will perform Hajj again after this year.'"

Narrated Jabir bin 'Abdullah:
that 'Umar said to Abu Bakr: "O best of people after the Messenger of Allah (SAW)!" So Abu Bakr said: "If you say that, then I have heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: 'The sun has not risen upon a man better than 'Umar.'"

" مَا طَلَعَتِ الشَّمْسُ عَلَى رَجُلٍ خَيْرٍ مِنْ عُمَرَ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ لاَ نَعْرِفُهُ إِلاَّ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ وَلَيْسَ إِسْنَادُهُ بِذَاكَ . وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ أَبِي الدَّرْدَاءِ .

" إِنَّهُ مَنْ غَرِمَ حَدَّثَ فَكَذَبَ وَوَعَدَ فَأَخْلَفَ " .

أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي قَالَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَيْوَةُ، وَذَكَرَ، آخَرَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا سَالِمُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ التُّجِيبِيُّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ دَرَّاجًا أَبَا السَّمْحِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا الْهَيْثَمِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " أَعُوذُ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الْكُفْرِ وَالدَّيْنِ " . قَالَ رَجُلٌ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَتَعْدِلُ الدَّيْنَ بِالْكُفْرِ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " نَعَمْ " .

It was narrated that 'Aishah said:
"Umm Habibah bint Jahsh consulted the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I suffer from Istihadah (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding).' He said: 'That is a vein, so perform Ghusl and pray.' And she used to perform Ghusl for every prayer."

" إِنَّمَا ذَلِكِ عِرْقٌ فَاغْتَسِلِي وَصَلِّي " . فَكَانَتْ تَغْتَسِلُ لِكُلِّ صَلاَةٍ .

Sahih Muslim 1966 a
Anas reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) sacrificed with his own hands two horned rams which were white with black markings reciting the name of Allah and glorifying Him (saying Allah-o-Akbar). He placed his foot on their sides (while sacrificing).

" اخْتَرْ أَيَّتَهُمَا شِئْتَ " . هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ . وَأَبُو وَهْبٍ الْجَيْشَانِيُّ اسْمُهُ الدَّيْلَمُ بْنُ هُوشَعَ .

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1140
Aishah narrated that:
The Prophet would divide (his time) equally between his wives and said: "O Allah! This is my division in what I have control over, so do not punish me for what You have control over which I do not have control over."
حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَقْسِمُ بَيْنَ نِسَائِهِ فَيَعْدِلُ وَيَقُولُ " اللَّهُمَّ هَذِهِ قِسْمَتِي فِيمَا أَمْلِكُ فَلاَ تَلُمْنِي فِيمَا تَمْلِكُ وَلاَ أَمْلِكُ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ عَائِشَةَ هَكَذَا رَوَاهُ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَقْسِمُ . وَرَوَاهُ حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ وَغَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنْ أَيُّوبَ عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ مُرْسَلاً أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم كَانَ يَقْسِمُ . وَهَذَا أَصَحُّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ حَمَّادِ بْنِ سَلَمَةَ . وَمَعْنَى قَوْلِهِ " لاَ تَلُمْنِي فِيمَا تَمْلِكُ وَلاَ أَمْلِكُ " . إِنَّمَا يَعْنِي بِهِ الْحُبَّ وَالْمَوَدَّةَ كَذَا فَسَّرَهُ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ .

Usaid bin Hudair said:
"A man from Ansar said, 'O Messenger of Allah! You appointed so-and-so and did not appoint me. So, the Prophet(s.a.w) said, 'After me you will see preferential treatment, so be patient till you meet me at Al-Hawd."'
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ أُسَيْدِ بْنِ حُضَيْرٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ قَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ اسْتَعْمَلْتَ فُلاَنًا وَلَمْ تَسْتَعْمِلْنِي . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" إِنَّكُمْ سَتَرَوْنَ بَعْدِي أَثَرَةً فَاصْبِرُوا حَتَّى تَلْقَوْنِي عَلَى الْحَوْضِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .

Salim bin 'Abdullas [bin 'Umar] narrated from his father, that the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said:
"A fire is coming from Hadramawt- before the Day of Judgement- to gather the people." They said: "O Messenger of Allah! What do you order us?" He said: "Stick to Ash-Sham."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " سَتَخْرُجُ نَارٌ مِنْ حَضْرَمَوْتَ أَوْ مِنْ نَحْوِ حَضْرَمَوْتَ قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ تَحْشُرُ النَّاسَ " . قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ فَمَا تَأْمُرُنَا قَالَ " عَلَيْكُمْ بِالشَّامِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ وَأَنَسٍ وَأَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ وَأَبِي ذَرٍّ . وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ صَحِيحٌ مِنْ حَدِيثِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ .

" اللَّهُمَّ مُنْزِلَ الْكِتَابِ سَرِيعَ الْحِسَابِ اهْزِمِ الأَحْزَابَ اللَّهُمَّ اهْزِمْهُمْ وَزَلْزِلْهُمْ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ . وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .

" أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ " . فَقَالَتْ لِمَاشِطَتِهَا كُفِّي رَأْسِي . بِنَحْوِ حَدِيثِ بُكَيْرٍ عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ عَبَّاسٍ

Abu Malik Ashaja'i reported on the authority of his father that whenever a person embraced Islam, Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) instructed him to recilte:
" O Allah, grant me pardon, have mercy upon me, direct me to the path of righteousness and provide me sustenance."

Narrated Anas:
The Prophet saw a man driving a Badana (i.e. camel for sacrifice) and said to him, "Ride on it." The man said, "O Allah's Apostle! It is a Bandana." (The Prophet repeated his order) and on the third or fourth time he said, "Ride it, (woe to you" or said: "May Allah be merciful to you).

When the mountain of Uhud appeared before Allah's Apostle he said, "This IS a mountain that loves us and is loved by us. O, Allah! Abraham made Mecca a Sanctuary, and I have made Medina (i.e. the area between its two mountains) a Sanctuary as well."

" اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ وَالْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَالْهَرَمِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ فِتْنَةِ الْمَحْيَا وَالْمَمَاتِ " .

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah and Abu Dharr said:
"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] would sit among his Companions and if a stranger came, he would not know which of them was he (the Prophet [SAW]) until he asked. So we suggested to the Messenger of Allah [SAW] that we should make a dais for him so that any stranger would know him if he came to him. So we built for him a bench made of clay on which he used to sit. (One day) we were sitting and the Messenger of Allah [SAW] was sitting in his spot, when a man came along who was the most handsome and good-smelling of all people, and it was as if no dirt had ever touched his garments. He came near the edge of the rug and greeted him, saying: 'Peace be upon you, O Muhammad!' He returned the greeting, and he said: 'Shall I come closer, O Muhammad?' He came a little closer, and he kept telling him to come closer, until he put his hands on the knees of the Messenger of Allah [SAW]. He said: 'O Muhammad, tell me, what is Islam?' He said: 'Islam means to worship Allah and not associate anything with Him; to establish Salah, to pay Zakah, to perform Hajj to the House, and to fast Ramadan.' He said: 'If I do that, will I have submitted (be a Muslim)?' He said: 'Yes.' He said: 'You have spoken the truth,' we found it odd. He said: 'O Muhammad, tell me, what is faith?' He said: 'To believe in Allah [SWT], His Angels, the Book, the Prophets, and to believe in the Divine Decree.' He said: 'If I do that, will I have believed?' The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Yes.' He said: 'You have spoken the truth.' He said: 'O Muhammad, tell me, what is Al-Ihsan?' He said: 'To worship Allah [SWT] as if you can see Him, for although you cannot see Him, He can see you.' He said: 'You have spoken the truth.' He said: 'O Muhammad, tell me about the Hour.' He lowered his head and did not answer. Then he repeated the question, and he did not answer. Then he repeated the question (a third time) and he did not answer. Then he raised his head and said: 'The one who is being asked does not know more than the one who is asking. But it has signs, by which it may be known. When you see the herdsmen competing in building tall buildings, when you see the barefoot and naked ruling the Earth, when you see a woman giving birth to her mistress. Five things which no one knows except Allah [SWT]. Verily, Allah, with Him (alone) is the knowledge of the Hour up to His saying: 'Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware (of things).' Then he said: 'No, by the One who sent Muhammad with the truth, with guidance and glad tidings, I did not know him more than any man among you. أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ قُدَامَةَ، عَنْ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، وَأَبِي، ذَرٍّ قَالاَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَجْلِسُ بَيْنَ ظَهْرَانَىْ أَصْحَابِهِ فَيَجِيءُ الْغَرِيبُ فَلاَ يَدْرِي أَيُّهُمْ هُوَ حَتَّى يَسْأَلَ فَطَلَبْنَا إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ نَجْعَلَ لَهُ مَجْلِسًا يَعْرِفُهُ الْغَرِيبُ إِذَا أَتَاهُ فَبَنَيْنَا لَهُ دُكَّانًا مِنْ طِينٍ كَانَ يَجْلِسُ عَلَيْهِ وَإِنَّا لَجُلُوسٌ وَرَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي مَجْلِسِهِ إِذْ أَقْبَلَ رَجُلٌ أَحْسَنُ النَّاسِ وَجْهًا وَأَطْيَبُ النَّاسِ رِيحًا كَأَنَّ ثِيَابَهُ لَمْ يَمَسَّهَا دَنَسٌ حَتَّى سَلَّمَ فِي طَرَفِ الْبِسَاطِ فَقَالَ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ . فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمَ قَالَ أَدْنُو يَا مُحَمَّدُ قَالَ " ادْنُهْ " . فَمَا زَالَ يَقُولُ أَدْنُو مِرَارًا وَيَقُولُ لَهُ " ادْنُ " . حَتَّى وَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى رُكْبَتَىْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ أَخْبِرْنِي مَا الإِسْلاَمُ قَالَ " الإِسْلاَمُ أَنْ تَعْبُدَ اللَّهَ وَلاَ تُشْرِكَ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمَ الصَّلاَةَ وَتُؤْتِيَ الزَّكَاةَ وَتَحُجَّ الْبَيْتَ وَتَصُومَ رَمَضَانَ " . قَالَ إِذَا فَعَلْتُ ذَلِكَ فَقَدْ أَسْلَمْتُ قَالَ " نَعَمْ " . قَالَ صَدَقْتَ . فَلَمَّا سَمِعْنَا قَوْلَ الرَّجُلِ صَدَقْتَ أَنْكَرْنَاهُ قَالَ يَا مُحَمَّدُ ...

When the Messenger of Allah (saws) wanted to go to sleep, he put his right hand under his cheek and would then say three times: O Allah, guard me from Thy punishment on the day when Thou raisest up Thy servants.

Anas said that when Rajab came God’s Messenger said, “O God, bless us in Rajab and Sha'ban and bring us to Ramadan.” He also quoted him as saying, “Thursday night is a very bright night and Friday is a shining day.”
Baihaqi transmitted it in [Kitab] ad-Da'awat al-kabir.

Jabir said he saw God’s Messenger raising his hands in supplication. Then he said, “O God, give us rain which will replenish us, abundant, fertilising and profitable, not injurious, granting it now without delay.” He said that thereupon the sky became overcast.

Ibn Sirin said, "We were with Abu Hurayra one night and he said, 'O Allah,

of them.'" Muhammad said, "We used to ask for forgiveness for them so that
we would be included in Abu Hurayra's supplication."

‘Abdullah bin ’Umar (RAA) narrated, ‘When ‘Abdullah bin Ubay (the head of the hypocrites) died, his son came to the Prophet (P.B.U.H.) and said, ‘O Messenger of Allah! Please give me your shirt to shroud him (his father) in it.’ So, Allah’s Messenger gave it to him, Agreed upon.

Narrated Safwan bin Umaiya (RA):
At the battle of Hunain, the Prophet (SAW) borrowed coats of mail from him and he asked, "Are you taking them by force, O Muhammad (SAW)?" He replied, "No, it is a loan with a guarantee of their reutrn."

" إِنَّمَا يُنْضَحُ مِنْ بَوْلِ الذَّكَرِ وَيُغْسَلُ مِنْ بَوْلِ الأُنْثَى " .

Abdullah bin Mas'ud narrated that:
the Messenger of Allah said: “Whoever begs when he has enough to suffice him, his begging will come on the Day of Resurrection like lacerations on his face. ” It was said: “O Messenger of Allah, what is sufficient for him?” He said: “Fifty Dirham or their value in gold.”
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْخَلاَّلُ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " مَنْ سَأَلَ وَلَهُ مَا يُغْنِيهِ جَاءَتْ مَسْأَلَتُهُ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ خُدُوشًا أَوْ خُمُوشًا أَوْ كُدُوحًا فِي وَجْهِهِ " . قِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ وَمَا يُغْنِيهِ قَالَ " خَمْسُونَ دِرْهَمًا أَوْ قِيمَتُهَا مِنَ الذَّهَبِ " . فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ لِسُفْيَانَ إِنَّ شُعْبَةَ لاَ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ حَكِيمِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ . فَقَالَ سُفْيَانُ قَدْ حَدَّثَنَاهُ زُبَيْدٌ عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 2145
It was narrated that Qais bin Abu Gharazah said:
"At the time of the Messenger of Allah (SAW) we used to be called brokers, but the Messenger of Allah (SAW) passed by us and called by a name that was better than that. He said: 'O merchants, selling involves (false) oaths and idle talk, so mix some charity with it."'

" يَا مَعْشَرَ التُّجَّارِ إِنَّ الْبَيْعَ يَحْضُرُهُ الْحَلِفُ وَاللَّغْوُ فَشُوبُوهُ بِالصَّدَقَةِ " .

It was
narrated that Tariq bin Suwaid Al-Hadrami said:
“I said: ‘O
Messenger of Allah, in our land there are grapes which we squeeze (to
make wine). Can we drink from it?’ He said: ‘No.’ I repeated
the
question and said: ‘We treat the sick with it.’ He said:
‘That is not
a cure, it is a disease.’”

It was
narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:
Husain bin ‘Awf told me: I
said:
“O Messenger of Allah, the command for Hajj has come but my
father
cannot perform Hajj unless he is tied to a saddle.” Some time
passed, then he said: “Perform Hajj on behalf of your father.”

narrated that Jabir said:
“When Allah’s Messenger (saw)
finished
circumambulating the House, he came to Maqam Ibrahim. ‘Umar
said:
‘O Messenger of Allah, this is the Maqam of our father Ibrahim,
about which Allah says, “And take you (people) the Maqam (place) of
Ibrahim as a place of prayer.’” [2:125]

perform Witr and recite:
“Glorify the Name of your Lord the

High,” [Al-A’la (87)] “Say: O you disbelievers!” [Al-Kafirun
(109)] and ‘Say: Allah is One.”. [Al-Ikhlas (112)]

It was
narrated from Ziyad bin ‘Ilaqah that he heard Mughirah say:
“The
Messenger of Allah (saw) stood (in prayer) until his feet became
swollen. It was said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, Allah has forgiven you
your past and future sins.’ He said: ‘Should I not be a thankful
slave?’”

narrated that Abu Hurairah said:
“A man said: ‘O Messenger of
Allah, I do a good deed, then others find out about it and that
pleases me.’ He said: ‘You will have two rewards, the reward for
doing
it in secret and the reward for doing it openly (so that others
may
follow your example).’”

It was narrated that a man from Banu Asad said:
`Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) came out to us and they asked him about Witr. He said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) commanded us to pray witr at this time. O Ibn An-Nabbah, give the adhan - or, say the iqamah.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُوحٍ يَعْنِي قُرَادًا، أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ، سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أَبِي الْهُذَيْلِ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ رَجُلٍ، مِنْ بَنِي أَسَدٍ قَالَ خَرَجَ عَلَيْنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَسَأَلُوهُ عَنْ الْوَتْرِ، قَالَ فَقَالَ أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نُوتِرَ هَذِهِ السَّاعَةَ ثَوِّبْ يَا ابْنَ النَّبَّاحِ أَوْ أَذِّنْ أَوْ أَقِمْ.

`O Allah, bring it over us with blessing and faith, and with soundness and Islam. My Lord and your Lord is Allah.”
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ الْمَدَايِنِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي بِلَالُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا رَأَى الْهِلَالَ قَالَ اللَّهُمَّ أَهِلَّهُ عَلَيْنَا بِالْيُمْنِ وَالْإِيمَانِ وَالسَّلَامَةِ وَالْإِسْلَامِ رَبِّي وَرَبُّكَ اللَّهُ.

I heard `Umar while he was on the pulpit of the Prophet saying, "Now then O people! The revelation about the prohibition of alcoholic drinks was revealed; and alcoholic drinks are extracted from five things: Grapes, dates, honey, wheat and barley. And the alcoholic drink is that which confuses and stupefies the mind."

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
that `Umar entered upon Hafsa and said, "O my daughter! Do not be misled by the manners of her who is proud of her beauty because of the love of Allah's Apostle for her." By 'her' he meant `Aisha. `Umar added, "Then I told that to Allah's Apostle and he smiled (on hearing that).

" لاَ يَتَمَنَّيَنَّ أَحَدُكُمُ الْمَوْتَ مِنْ ضُرٍّ أَصَابَهُ، فَإِنْ كَانَ لاَ بُدَّ فَاعِلاً فَلْيَقُلِ اللَّهُمَّ أَحْيِنِي مَا كَانَتِ الْحَيَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي، وَتَوَفَّنِي إِذَا كَانَتِ الْوَفَاةُ خَيْرًا لِي ".

Narrated Um Salama:
Um Sulaim came to Allah's Apostle and said, "O Allah's Apostle! Verily, Allah does not feel shy to tell the truth. If a woman gets a nocturnal sexual discharge (has a wet dream), is it essential for her to take a bath? He replied, "Yes if she notices a discharge."

" نَعَمْ إِذَا رَأَتِ الْمَاءَ ".
