Sunan Abi Dawud 1793
Narrated Sa'id ibn al-Musayyab:
A man from the Companions of the Prophet (saws) came to Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him). He bore witness before him that when he (the Prophet) was suffering from a disease of which he died he heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) prohibiting performing of umrah before hajj.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي حَيْوَةُ، أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو عِيسَى الْخُرَاسَانِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَتَى عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ - رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ - فَشَهِدَ عِنْدَهُ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي مَرَضِهِ الَّذِي قُبِضَ فِيهِ يَنْهَى عَنِ الْعُمْرَةِ قَبْلَ الْحَجِّ .

Narrated AbuUmamah:
The Prophet (saws) said: He who does not join the warlike expedition (jihad), or equip, or looks well after a warrior's family when he is away, will be smitten by Allah with a sudden calamity. Yazid ibn Abdu Rabbihi said in his tradition: 'before the Day of Resurrection".
حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، وَقَرَأْتُهُ، عَلَى يَزِيدَ بْنِ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ الْجُرْجُسِيِّ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ : " مَنْ لَمْ يَغْزُ أَوْ يُجَهِّزْ غَازِيًا أَوْ يَخْلُفْ غَازِيًا فِي أَهْلِهِ بِخَيْرٍ أَصَابَهُ اللَّهُ بِقَارِعَةٍ " . قَالَ يَزِيدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ رَبِّهِ فِي حَدِيثِهِ : " قَبْلَ يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ " .

Narrated Aisha, Ummul Mu'minin:
May Allah have mercy on the early immigrant women. When the verse "That they should draw their veils over their bosoms" was revealed, they tore their thick outer garments and made veils from them.

Narrated Al-Miqdad ibn al-Aswad:
I swear by Allah, I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) say: The happy man is he who avoids dissensions: happy is the man who avoids dissensions; happy is the man who avoids dissensions: but how fine is the man who is afflicted and shows endurance.

" إِنَّ السَّعِيدَ لَمَنْ جُنِّبَ الْفِتَنَ إِنَّ السَّعِيدَ لَمَنْ جُنِّبَ الْفِتَنَ إِنَّ السَّعِيدَ لَمَنْ جُنِّبَ الْفِتَنَ وَلَمَنِ ابْتُلِيَ فَصَبَرَ فَوَاهًا " .

Narrated Zayd ibn Thabit:
The verse "If a man kills a believer intentionally, his recompense is Hell to abide therein for ever" was revealed six months after the verse "And those who invoke not with Allah any other god, nor slay such life as Allah has made sacred, except for just cause in Surat al-Furqan.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنْ مُجَالِدِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، أَنَّ خَارِجَةَ بْنَ زَيْدٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ، فِي هَذَا الْمَكَانِ يَقُولُ أُنْزِلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ { وَمَنْ يَقْتُلْ مُؤْمِنًا مُتَعَمِّدًا فَجَزَاؤُهُ جَهَنَّمُ خَالِدًا فِيهَا } بَعْدَ الَّتِي فِي الْفُرْقَانِ { وَالَّذِينَ لاَ يَدْعُونَ مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ وَلاَ يَقْتُلُونَ النَّفْسَ الَّتِي حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ إِلاَّ بِالْحَقِّ } بِسِتَّةِ أَشْهُرٍ .

Narrated Mu'adh ibn Jabal:
AbuMusa said: Mu'adh came to me when I was in the Yemen. A man who was Jew embraced Islam and then retreated from Islam. When Mu'adh came, he said: I will not come down from my mount until he is killed. He was then killed. One of them said: He was asked to repent before that.
حَدَّثَنَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْحِمَّانِيُّ، - يَعْنِي عَبْدَ الْحَمِيدِ بْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ - عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ يَحْيَى، وَبُرَيْدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى، قَالَ قَدِمَ عَلَىَّ مُعَاذٌ وَأَنَا بِالْيَمَنِ، وَرَجُلٌ، كَانَ يَهُودِيًّا فَأَسْلَمَ فَارْتَدَّ عَنِ الإِسْلاَمِ، فَلَمَّا قَدِمَ مُعَاذٌ قَالَ لاَ أَنْزِلُ عَنْ دَابَّتِي حَتَّى يُقْتَلَ . فَقُتِلَ . قَالَ أَحَدُهُمَا وَكَانَ قَدِ اسْتُتِيبَ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ .

Narrated 'Amr b. Suh'aib:
On his father's authority, said that his grandfather reported the Messenger of Allah (saws) said: Anyone who practises medicine when he is not known as a practitioner will be held responsible.
Abu Dawud said: This has been transmitted by al-Walid alone. We do not know whether it is sound or not.

Narrated Ali ibn AbuTalib:
The tradition (No 5045, about Tasbih Fatimah) has been transmitted by Ali to the same effect through a different chain of narrators.
This version adds: Ali said: I did not leave them (Tasbih Fatimah) since I heard them from the Messenger of Allah (saws) except on the night of Siffin, for I remembered them towards the end of the night and then I uttered them.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Umar:
The Prophet (saws) said: When one of the Jews greets you saying: Death may come upon you, reply: The same to you.
Abu Dawud said: Malik b. 'Adb Allah b. Dinar transmitted it in a similar manner, and al-Thawri transmitted it from 'Abd Allah b. Dinar. He said in this version: The same to you.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ مُسْلِمٍ - عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " إِنَّ الْيَهُودَ إِذَا سَلَّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ أَحَدُهُمْ فَإِنَّمَا يَقُولُ السَّامُ عَلَيْكُمْ فَقُولُوا وَعَلَيْكُمْ " . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَكَذَلِكَ رَوَاهُ مَالِكٌ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ وَرَوَاهُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ قَالَ فِيهِ " وَعَلَيْكُمْ " .

Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 161
Al-Hasan reported that a man ordered one of his slaves to draw
water using one of his camels and the man fell asleep. The master came
with a torch and put it in his face and the slave fell into the well. In
the morning, the slave went to 'Umar ibn al-Khattab and 'Umar saw what
had happened to his slave and therefore 'Umar set him free."
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجُ بْنُ مِنْهَالٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ، وَحَمَّادٍ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ، وَحُمَيْدٍ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ أَنَّ رَجُلاً أَمَرَ غُلاَمًا لَهُ أَنْ يَسْنُوَ عَلَى بَعِيرٍ لَهُ، فَنَامَ الْغُلاَمُ، فَجَاءَ بِشُعْلَةٍ مِنْ نَارٍ فَأَلْقَاهَا فِي وَجْهِهِ، فَتَرَدَّى الْغُلاَمُ فِي بِئْرٍ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ أَتَى عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، فَرَأَى الَّذِي فِي وَجْهِهِ، فَأَعْتَقَهُ.

'Imran ibn Abi Anas reported from a man of Aslam who was one of
the Companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace,

a believer for a year is like spilling his blood."

'Umar ibn al-Khattab said, "When the Prophet, may Allah bless him
and grant him peace, withdrew from his wives, I was with Rabah, the slave
of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and
I called, 'Rabah, ask permission for me to come in to the Messenger of
Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace.'"
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ يُونُسَ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ أَبِي زُمَيْلٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ اللهِ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: لَمَّا اعْتَزَلَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نِسَاءَهُ، فَإِذَا أَنَا بِرَبَاحٍ غُلاَمِ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، فَنَادَيْتُ: يَا رَبَاحُ، اسْتَأْذِنْ لِي عَلَى رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Ja'far ibn Abi'l-Mughira said, "Sa'id ibn Jubayr stayed with me
and said tht Ibn 'Abbas related to me that he used to say, 'Where are those
who play with gambling arrows for the slaughtered camel? They buy a camel
with ten shares. Then they shuffle the arrows and it becomes nine shares
and they continue until comes down to one share. The others lose their
shares to the one share. That is gambling (arrow-shuffling).'"
حَدَّثَنَا فَرْوَةُ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَغْرَاءِ، قَالَ: أَخْبَرَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ الْمُخْتَارِ، عَنْ مَعْرُوفِ بْنِ سُهَيْلٍ الْبُرْجُمِيِّ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ قَالَ: نَزَلَ بِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ فَقَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّهُ كَانَ يُقَالُ: أَيْنَ أَيْسَارُ الْجَزُورِ؟ فَيَجْتَمِعُ الْعَشَرَةُ، فَيَشْتَرُونَ الْجَزُورَ بِعَشَرَةِ فِصْلاَنٍ إِلَى الْفِصَالِ، فَيُجِيلُونَ السِّهَامَ، فَتَصِيرُ لَتِسْعَةٍ، حَتَّى تَصِيرَ إِلَى وَاحِدٍ، وَيَغْرَمُ الْآخَرُونَ فَصِيلاً فَصِيلاً، إِلَى الْفِصَالِ فَهُوَ الْمَيْسِرُ.

Musnad Ahmad 1155, 1156
It was narrated that Buraid bin Asram said:
I heard `Ali (رضي الله عنه) say: A man from among Ahlus-Suffah died and it was said: O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), he has left behind a dinar and a dirham. He said: “Two brands. Offer the funeral prayer for your companion.`
Habban bin Hilal told us: Ja`far told us... and he narrated a similar report.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ حِسَابٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، حَدَّثَنَا عُتَيْبَةُ، وَهُوَ الضَّرِيرُ عَنْ بُرَيْدِ بْنِ أَصْرَمَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ مَاتَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الصُّفَّةِ فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ تَرَكَ دِينَارًا وَدِرْهَمًا فَقَالَ كَيَّتَانِ صَلُّوا عَلَى صَاحِبِكُمْ.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ و حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو خَيْثَمَةَ حَدَّثَنَا حَبَّانُ بْنُ هِلَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ فَذَكَرَ مِثْلَهُ نَحْوَهُ.

Al-Bara' b. 'Azib reported:
I noticed the prayer of Muhammad (may peace be upon him) and saw his Qiyam (standing), his bowing, and then going back to the standing posture after bowing, his prostration, his sitting between the two prostrations, and his prostration and sitting between salutation and going away, all these were nearly equal to one another.
وَحَدَّثَنَا حَامِدُ بْنُ عُمَرَ الْبَكْرَاوِيُّ، وَأَبُو كَامِلٍ فُضَيْلُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ الْجَحْدَرِيُّ كِلاَهُمَا عَنْ أَبِي عَوَانَةَ، - قَالَ حَامِدٌ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، - عَنْ هِلاَلِ بْنِ أَبِي حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، قَالَ رَمَقْتُ الصَّلاَةَ مَعَ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَوَجَدْتُ قِيَامَهُ فَرَكْعَتَهُ فَاعْتِدَالَهُ بَعْدَ رُكُوعِهِ فَسَجْدَتَهُ فَجَلْسَتَهُ بَيْنَ السَّجْدَتَيْنِ فَسَجْدَتَهُ فَجَلْسَتَهُ مَا بَيْنَ التَّسْلِيمِ وَالاِنْصِرَافِ قَرِيبًا مِنَ السَّوَاءِ .

Abu Qatada al-Ansari reported:
I saw the Apostle (may peace be upon him) leading the people in prayer with Umima, daughter of Abu'l-'As and Zainab, daughter of the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him), on his shoulder. When he bowed, he put her down, and when he got up after prostration, he lifted her again.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ، وَابْنِ، عَجْلاَنَ سَمِعَا عَامِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ سُلَيْمٍ الزُّرَقِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ الأَنْصَارِيِّ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَؤُمُّ النَّاسَ وَأُمَامَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي الْعَاصِ وَهْىَ ابْنَةُ زَيْنَبَ بِنْتِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَلَى عَاتِقِهِ فَإِذَا رَكَعَ وَضَعَهَا وَإِذَا رَفَعَ مِنَ السُّجُودِ أَعَادَهَا .

Abu Huraira reported:
The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: When the words of Iqama are pronounced, none of you should run to it (to join the prayer) but walk with tranquillity and dignity, and pray what you are in time for and complete what has gone before (what the Imam has completed).

" إِذَا ثُوِّبَ بِالصَّلاَةِ فَلاَ يَسْعَ إِلَيْهَا أَحَدُكُمْ وَلَكِنْ لِيَمْشِ وَعَلَيْهِ السَّكِينَةُ وَالْوَقَارُ صَلِّ مَا أَدْرَكْتَ وَاقْضِ مَا سَبَقَكَ " .

Sahih Muslim 603 a
Abdullah b. Abu Qatada reported on the authority of his father:
While we said our prayer with the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) he heard tumult. (At the end of the prayer) he (the Holy Prophet) said: What is the matter with you? They said: We hastened to prayer. He (the Holy Prophet) said: Don't do that; when you come for prayer, there should be tranquillity upon you. Pray (along with the Imam) what you can find and complete what preceded you.
حَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ الصُّورِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ سَلاَّمٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، أَخْبَرَهُ قَالَ بَيْنَمَا نَحْنُ نُصَلِّي مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَسَمِعَ جَلَبَةً . فَقَالَ " مَا شَأْنُكُمْ " . قَالُوا اسْتَعْجَلْنَا إِلَى الصَّلاَةِ . قَالَ " فَلاَ تَفْعَلُوا إِذَا أَتَيْتُمُ الصَّلاَةَ فَعَلَيْكُمُ السَّكِينَةُ فَمَا أَدْرَكْتُمْ فَصَلُّوا وَمَا سَبَقَكُمْ فَأَتِمُّوا " .

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that he went to the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) and found him observing prayer on a mat and prostrating on that.

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدٍ الْغُبَرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَيُّوبُ، وَالزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ الْخِرِّيتِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ شَقِيقٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، قَالَ سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم . فَذَكَرَا بِمِثْلِهِ وَلَيْسَ فِي حَدِيثِهِمَا ثُمَّ سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ عَلَى رَأْسِ الْحَوْلِ وَمَا بَعْدَهُ .

" That he recited Surah Jumu'a (lxii.) in the first rak'ah and" The hypocrites came" in the second rak'ah.

Hasten at a funeral, for if (the dead person) is good, you would (soon) bring him close to the good. And if it is otherwise, it is an evil of which you are ridding yourselves.

" أَسْرِعُوا بِالْجَنَازَةِ فَإِنْ كَانَتْ صَالِحَةً قَرَّبْتُمُوهَا إِلَى الْخَيْرِ وَإِنْ كَانَتْ غَيْرَ ذَلِكَ كَانَ شَرًّا تَضَعُونَهُ عَنْ رِقَابِكُمْ " .

Khaithama reported:
While we were sitting in the company of 'Abdullah b. 'Umar there came in his steward. He (Ibn 'Umar) said: Have you supplied the provision to the slaves? He said: No. Upon this he said: Go and give (the provision) to them, for the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) has said: This sin is enough for a man that he withholds the subsistence from one whose master he is.
حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْجَرْمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبْجَرَ الْكِنَانِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ طَلْحَةَ بْنِ مُصَرِّفٍ، عَنْ خَيْثَمَةَ، قَالَ كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو إِذْ جَاءَهُ قَهْرَمَانٌ لَهُ فَدَخَلَ فَقَالَ أَعْطَيْتَ الرَّقِيقَ قُوتَهُمْ قَالَ لاَ . قَالَ فَانْطَلِقْ فَأَعْطِهِمْ . قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" كَفَى بِالْمَرْءِ إِثْمًا أَنْ يَحْبِسَ عَمَّنْ يَمْلِكُ قُوتَهُ " .

Sahih Muslim 1036
Abu Umama reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:
O son of Adam, it is better for you if you spend your surplus (wealth), but if you withhold it, it is evil for you. There is (however) no reproach for you (if you withhold means necessary) for a living. And begin (charity) with your dependents; and the upper hand is better than the lower hand.

" يَا ابْنَ آدَمَ إِنَّكَ أَنْ تَبْذُلَ الْفَضْلَ خَيْرٌ لَكَ وَأَنْ تُمْسِكَهُ شَرٌّ لَكَ وَلاَ تُلاَمُ عَلَى كَفَافٍ وَابْدَأْ بِمَنْ تَعُولُ وَالْيَدُ الْعُلْيَا خَيْرٌ مِنَ الْيَدِ السُّفْلَى ".

Sahih Muslim 1131 b
Abu Musa reported that the people of Khaibar (most of them were Jews) observed fast on the day of 'Ashura and they treated it as 'Id and gave their women ornaments and beautiful dresses to wear. The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said:
You (only) observe fast on this day.
وَحَدَّثَنَاهُ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ الْمُنْذِرِ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ أُسَامَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْعُمَيْسِ، أَخْبَرَنِي قَيْسٌ، فَذَكَرَ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ مِثْلَهُ وَزَادَ قَالَ أَبُو أُسَامَةَ فَحَدَّثَنِي صَدَقَةُ بْنُ أَبِي عِمْرَانَ عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ مُسْلِمٍ عَنْ طَارِقِ بْنِ شِهَابٍ عَنْ أَبِي مُوسَى - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ كَانَ أَهْلُ خَيْبَرَ يَصُومُونَ يَوْمَ عَاشُورَاءَ يَتَّخِذُونَهُ عِيدًا وَيُلْبِسُونَ نِسَاءَهُمْ فِيهِ حُلِيَّهُمْ وَشَارَتَهُمْ . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" فَصُومُوهُ أَنْتُمْ " .

وَحَدَّثَنِي إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ بِشْرٍ الْعَبْدِيُّ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ، وَسُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَا النُّعْمَانَ بْنَ، أَبِي عَيَّاشٍ الزُّرَقِيَّ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، - رضى الله عنه - قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ
" مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 83
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:
"The idolators and Quraish came and disputed with the Prophet (SAW) concerning the Divine Decree. Then the following verse was revealed: 'The Day they will be dragged on their faces into the Fire (it will be said to them): "Taste you the touch of Hell!" Verily We have created all things with Qadar. (Divine Decree)'"
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، وَعَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ الثَّوْرِيُّ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمَخْزُومِيِّ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ جَاءَ مُشْرِكُو قُرَيْشٍ يُخَاصِمُونَ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فِي الْقَدَرِ فَنَزَلَتْ هَذِهِ الآيَةُ {يَوْمَ يُسْحَبُونَ فِي النَّارِ عَلَى وُجُوهِهِمْ ذُوقُوا مَسَّ سَقَرَ * إِنَّا كُلَّ شَىْءٍ خَلَقْنَاهُ بِقَدَرٍ } .

Sunan Ibn Majah 180
Waki' bin Hudus narrated that his paternal uncle Abu Razin said:
"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, will we see Allah on the Day of Resurrection? And what is the sign of that in His creation?' He said: 'O Abu Razin, do each of you not see the moon individually?' I said: 'Of course.' He said: 'Allah is Greater, and that is His sign in His creation.'"
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنْبَأَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ وَكِيعِ بْنِ حُدُسٍ، عَنْ عَمِّهِ أَبِي رَزِينٍ، قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَكُلُّنَا يَرَى اللَّهَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَمَا آيَةُ ذَلِكَ فِي خَلْقِهِ قَالَ " يَا أَبَا رَزِينٍ أَلَيْسَ كُلُّكُمْ يَرَى الْقَمَرَ مُخْلِيًا بِهِ " . قَالَ قُلْتُ بَلَى . قَالَ " فَاللَّهُ أَعْظَمُ وَذَلِكَ آيَتُهُ فِي خَلْقِهِ " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 181
Waki' bin Hudus narrated that his paternal uncle Abu Razin said:
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Allah laughs at the despair of His slaves although He soon changes it.' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, does the Lord laugh?' He said: 'Yes.' I said: 'We shall never be deprived of good by a Lord Who laughs.'"

Sunan Ibn Majah 485
It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:
The Prophet said: "Perform ablution after (eating) that which has been changed by fir." Ibn 'Abbas said: "Should I do ablution after (touching) hot water?" Abu Hurairah said: "O son of my brother, when I narrate a Hadith of the Messenger of Allah to you, then do not try to make examples for it."

" تَوَضَّئُوا مِمَّا غَيَّرَتِ النَّارُ " . فَقَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَتَوَضَّأُ مِنَ الْحَمِيمِ فَقَالَ لَهُ يَا ابْنَ أَخِي إِذَا سَمِعْتَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ حَدِيثًا فَلاَ تَضْرِبْ لَهُ الأَمْثَالَ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 492
Suwaid bin Nu'man Ansari narrated that :
They went out with the Messenger of Allah to Khaibar. When they reached As-Sahba' (a place near Khaibar), he performed 'Asr (Afternoon prayer), then he called for food, but no food was brought except for Sawiq. So they ate that and drank, and then he called for water and rinsed his mouth, then he stood up and led us for Maghrib (Sunset) prayer."

Sunan Ibn Majah 563
It was narrated that Abu Muslim, the freed slave of Zaid bin Suhan, said:
"I was with Salman, and he saw a man removing his leather socks for ablution. Salman said to him" 'Wipe over your leather socks and your head cover, and your forehead, for I saw the Messenger of Allah wiping over his leather socks and head cover.'"

Sunan Ibn Majah 603
It was narrated that Umm Salamah said:
"I said, O Messenger of Allah! I am a woman with tight braids. Should I undo them when I take a bath to cleanse myself from the state of sexual impurity?" He said: "Rather it is sufficient for you to pour three handfuls of water over yourself, and you will be purified," or he said: "In that case you would have become purified."

Mughith bin Sumayi said:
"I prayed the Subh with 'Abdullah bin Zubair in the darkness, and when he said the Taslim, I turned to Ibn 'Umar and said: 'What is this prayer?' He said: 'This is how we prayed with the Messenger of Allah and with Abu Bakr and 'Umar. When 'Umar was stabbed, 'Uthman delayed it until there was light.'"

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that:
The Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever catches one Rak'ah of the 'Asr before the sun sets, then he has caught it, and whoever catches one Rak'ah of the Subh before the sun rises, then he has caught it."

" مَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ الْعَصْرِ رَكْعَةً قَبْلَ أَنْ تَغْرُبَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا وَمَنْ أَدْرَكَ مِنَ الصُّبْحِ رَكْعَةً قَبْلَ أَنْ تَطْلُعَ الشَّمْسُ فَقَدْ أَدْرَكَهَا " .

It was narrated that Suraqah bin Ju'shum said:
"I asked the Messenger of Allah(SAW) about a lost camel that comes to my cisterns that I have prepared for my own camels - will I be rewarded if I give it some water to drink? He said: Yes, in every living being there is reward.'"

" نَعَمْ فِي كُلِّ ذَاتِ كَبِدٍ حَرَّى أَجْرٌ " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 3683
It was narrated from Abu Dharr that the Prophet(SAW) said:
"My nation was shown to me with their good deeds and bad deeds. Among their good deeds I saw a harmful thing being removed from the road. And among their bad deeds I saw sputum in the mosque that had not been removed."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ، أَنْبَأَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، عَنْ وَاصِلٍ، مَوْلَى أَبِي عُيَيْنَةَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عُقَيْلٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ يَعْمَرَ، عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ عُرِضَتْ عَلَىَّ أُمَّتِي بِأَعْمَالِهَا حَسَنِهَا وَسَيِّئِهَا فَرَأَيْتُ فِي مَحَاسِنِ أَعْمَالِهَا الأَذَى يُنَحَّى عَنِ الطَّرِيقِ وَرَأَيْتُ فِي سَيِّئِ أَعْمَالِهَا النُّخَاعَةَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ لاَ تُدْفَنُ " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 1995
It was narrated from Salim, from his father, that:
the Messenger of Allah said: "Omens are only to be found in three things: a horse, a woman and a house." (Sahih)(One of the narrators) Az-Zuhri said: " Abu 'Ubaidah bin 'Abdullah bin Zam'ah said that his mother, Zainab, narrated to him, from Umm Salamah, that she used to list these three, and add to them "the sword."
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ خَلَفٍ أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ سَالِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ قَالَ
" الشُّؤْمُ فِي ثَلاَثَةٍ فِي الْفَرَسِ وَالْمَرْأَةِ وَالدَّارِ " .
قَالَ الزُّهْرِيُّ فَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عُبَيْدَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَمْعَةَ، أَنَّ جَدَّتَهُ، زَيْنَبَ حَدَّثَتْهُ عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّهَا كَانَتْ تَعُدُّ هَؤُلاَءِ الثَّلاَثَةَ وَتَزِيدُ مَعَهُنَّ السَّيْفَ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 2061
It was narrated from Umm Salamah that:
the Messenger of Allah (SAW) swore to keep away from some of his wives for a month. On the twenty-ninth day, in the evening or the morning, it was said: "O Messenger of Allah, only twenty-nine days have passed." He said: "The month is twenty-nine days."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ السُّلَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ صَيْفِيٍّ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ آلَى مِنْ بَعْضِ نِسَائِهِ شَهْرًا فَلَمَّا كَانَ تِسْعَةً وَعِشْرِينَ رَاحَ أَوْ غَدَا . فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّمَا مَضَى تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ . فَقَالَ
" الشَّهْرُ تِسْعٌ وَعِشْرُونَ " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 2094
It was narrated from Salim bin 'Abdullah bin 'Umar, from his father, from 'Umar, that :
the Messenger of Allah (SAW) heard him swearing by his father. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'Allah forbids you from making oaths by your forefathers." 'Umar said: I never took an oath by them (i.e., my forefathers) myself nor narrating such words from anyone else.”

" إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَنْهَاكُمْ أَنْ تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ " . قَالَ عُمَرُ فَمَا حَلَفْتُ بِهَا ذَاكِرًا وَلاَ آثِرًا .

It was narrated from Ibn Abbas that a man came to the Prophet (SAW) and said:
"O Messenger of Allah, I vowed to offer a sacrifice at Buwanah." He said: "Do you intend any action of Ignorance period?" He said: "No." He said: "Then fulfill your vow."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْجَوْهَرِيُّ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَجَاءٍ، أَنْبَأَنَا الْمَسْعُودِيُّ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، جَاءَ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنِّي نَذَرْتُ أَنْ أَنْحَرَ بِبُوَانَةَ فَقَالَ " فِي نَفْسِكَ شَىْءٌ مِنْ أَمْرِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ " . قَالَ لاَ . قَالَ " أَوْفِ بِنَذْرِكَ " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 2286
Sa'eed bin Hani' said:
"I heard 'Irbad bin Sariyah say: 'I was with the Prophet (SAW) and a Bedouin said: "Pay me back for my young camel, and he gave him an older (i.e., better) camel." He said: 'O Messenger of Allah! It is older (i.e., better) than my camel.' The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'The best of people are those who are best in repaying."'
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ الْحُبَابِ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، حَدَّثَنِي سَعِيدُ بْنُ هَانِئٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الْعِرْبَاضَ بْنَ سَارِيَةَ، يَقُولُ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ النَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَالَ أَعْرَابِيٌّ اقْضِنِي بَكْرِي . فَأَعْطَاهُ بَعِيرًا مُسِنًّا فَقَالَ الأَعْرَابِيُّ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ هَذَا أَسَنُّ مِنْ بَعِيرِي . فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ
" خَيْرُ النَّاسِ خَيْرُهُمْ قَضَاءً " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 2230
It was narrated that 'Uthman bin 'Affan said:
"I used to sell dates in the marketplace, and I would say: 'This was such and such an amount (when I bought it).' I Would give the purchaser a specific amount of dates according to the way it had been measured for me, and take my profit. Then I began to have some doubts about that, so I asked the Messenger of Allah (SAW), and he said: ‘When you name the amount, measure it in front of the purchaser."'
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَيْمُونٍ الرَّقِّيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنِ ابْنِ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ وَرْدَانَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، قَالَ كُنْتُ أَبِيعُ التَّمْرَ فِي السُّوقِ فَأَقُولُ كِلْتُ فِي وَسْقِي هَذَا كَذَا . فَأَدْفَعُ أَوْسَاقَ التَّمْرِ بِكَيْلِهِ وَآخُذُ شِفِّي فَدَخَلَنِي مِنْ ذَلِكَ شَىْءٌ فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَالَ
" إِذَا سَمَّيْتَ الْكَيْلَ فَكِلْهُ " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 2227
It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said:
"The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'Whoever buys food, let him not sell it until he has taken full possession of it.'" (Sahih) In his narration, (one of the narrators) Abu 'Awanah said: "Ibn 'Abbas said: 'I think everything is like food."'

Sunan Ibn Majah 2220
It was narrated that Suwaid bin Qais said:
"Makhrafah Al' Abdi and I brought linens from Hajar[1] The Messenger of Allah (SAW) came to us to bargain with us with some trousers. There was someone with me who weighed (the goods) in exchange for a wage. So the Prophet (SAW) said to the one weighing: 'Weigh and add more.'"

" يَا وَزَّانُ زِنْ وَأَرْجِحْ " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 2193
It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, from his grandfather that :
the Prophet (SAW) forbade the deal involving earnest money. (Hasan)Abu 'Abdullah said: Earnest money refers to when a man buys an animal for one hundred Dinar, then he gives the seller two Dinar in advance and says: "If I do not buy the animal, then the two Dinar are yours." And it was said that it refers, and Allah knows best, to when a man buys something, and gives the seller a Dirham or less or more, and says: "If I take it (all well and good), and if I do not, then the Dirham is yours."

Sunan Ibn Majah 2432
It was narrated that Yahya bin Abu Ishaq Al-Huna'i said:
“I asked Anas bin Malik: 'What if a man gives his brother a loan, then (the borrower) give him a gift?’ The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: ‘If anyone of you borrow something then he gives (the lender) a gift or gives him a ride on his riding-beast, he should not accept the gift or the ride, unless they used to treat each other in that manner beforehand.'”

" إِذَا أَقْرَضَ أَحَدُكُمْ قَرْضًا فَأَهْدَى لَهُ أَوْ حَمَلَهُ عَلَى الدَّابَّةِ فَلاَ يَرْكَبْهَا وَلاَ يَقْبَلْهُ إِلاَّ أَنْ يَكُونَ جَرَى بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ " .

'Aishah narrated that the Messenger of Allah(SAW) said:
“If a slave woman commits fornication then whip her, and if she commits fornication then whip her, and if she commits fornication then whip her, then sell her even if that is for a rope.”
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا اللَّيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ أَبِي فَرْوَةَ، أَنَّ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ مُسْلِمٍ، حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عُرْوَةَ حَدَّثَهُ أَنَّ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَتْهُ أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ حَدَّثَتْهَا أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
" إِذَا زَنَتِ الأَمَةُ فَاجْلِدُوهَا فَإِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا فَإِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا فَإِنْ زَنَتْ فَاجْلِدُوهَا ثُمَّ بِيعُوهَا وَلَوْ بِضَفِيرٍ " . وَالضَّفِيرُ الْحَبْلُ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 2636
Nimran bin Jariyah narrated from his father that :
a man struck another man on the wrist with his sword and severed it, not at the joint. He appealed to the Prophet (SAW) who ordered that the Diyah be paid. The man said: “O Messenger of Allah (SAW), I want retaliation.” He said: “Take the compensation and may Allah bless you therein.” And he did not rule that he be allowed retaliation.

" خُذِ الدِّيَةَ بَارَكَ اللَّهُ لَكَ فِيهَا " . وَلَمْ يَقْضِ لَهُ بِالْقِصَاصِ .

It was
narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (saw)
said:
“There are no days in this world during which worship is more
beloved to Allah, Glorious is He, than the (first) ten days (of
Dhul-
Hijjah). Fasting one of these days is equivalent to fasting for
one
year, and one night of them is equal to Lailatul-Qadr.”

" مَا مِنْ أَيَّامِ الدُّنْيَا أَيَّامٌ، أَحَبُّ إِلَى اللَّهِ سُبْحَانَهُ أَنْ يُتَعَبَّدَ لَهُ فِيهَا، مِنْ أَيَّامِ الْعَشْرِ. وَإِنَّ صِيَامَ يَوْمٍ فِيهَا لَيَعْدِلُ صِيَامَ سَنَةٍ، وَلَيْلَةٍ فِيهَا بِلَيْلَةِ الْقَدْرِ " .

“What do they
use dogs for?” Then he permitted them to keep farming dogs and dogs
of
‘Ein. Bundar said: “The ‘Ein refers to the walls of
Al-Madinah.”

" مَا لَهُمْ وَلِلْكِلاَبِ " . ثُمَّ رَخَّصَ لَهُمْ فِي كَلْبِ الزَّرْعِ وَكَلْبِ الْعِينِ . قَالَ بُنْدَارٌ الْعِينُ حِيطَانُ الْمَدِينَةِ .

It was
narrated that Anas bin Malik – a man from the tribe of Banu
‘Abdul-Ashhal – said:
* “I came to the Prophet (saw) when he was
eating
breakfast and he said: ‘Come and eat.’ I said: ‘I am
fasting. Alas!
Would that I had eaten of the food of the Messenger of
Allah (saw).’”

" ادْنُ فَكُلْ " . فَقُلْتُ إِنِّي صَائِمٌ فَيَا لَهْفَ نَفْسِي هَلاَّ كُنْتُ طَعِمْتُ مِنْ طَعَامِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ .

It was
narrated from Abu Hurairah that when the first fruits (of the
season)
were brought, the Messenger of Allah (saw) would say:
“O
Allah,
bless us in our city and in our fruits, in our Mudd and in our
Sa’,*
blessing upon blessing.” Then he would give it to the smallest
of
the children present.

" اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي مَدِينَتِنَا وَفِي ثِمَارِنَا وَفِي مُدِّنَا وَفِي صَاعِنَا بَرَكَةً مَعَ بَرَكَةٍ " . ثُمَّ يُنَاوِلُهُ أَصْغَرَ مَنْ بِحَضْرَتِهِ مِنَ الْوِلْدَانِ .

It was
narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (saw)
said:
“There is no one who is wounded in the cause of Allah – and
Allah
knows best of who is wounded in His cause – but he will come on
the
Day of Resurrection with his wounds looking as they did on the day
he
was wounded; their color will be the color of blood but their smell
will be the fragrance of musk.”

" مَا مِنْ مَجْرُوحٍ يُجْرَحُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ - وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ بِمَنْ يُجْرَحُ فِي سَبِيلِهِ - إِلاَّ جَاءَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ وَجُرْحُهُ كَهَيْئَتِهِ يَوْمَ جُرِحَ وَاللَّوْنُ لَوْنُ دَمٍ وَالرِّيحُ رِيحُ مِسْكٍ " .

Arabian bow in his hand, and he saw a man who had a Persian bow in

hand. He said: ‘What is this? Throw it away. You should use
this and
others like it, and Qana* spears. Perhaps Allah will support
His
religion thereby and enable you to conquer lands.’”

" مَا هَذِهِ أَلْقِهَا وَعَلَيْكُمْ بِهَذِهِ وَأَشْبَاهِهَا وَرِمَاحِ الْقَنَا فَإِنَّهُمَا يَزِيدُ اللَّهُ بِهِمَا فِي الدِّينِ وَيُمَكِّنُ لَكُمْ فِي الْبِلاَدِ " .

narrated from ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abi ‘Amrah, from a grandmother
of
his who was called Kabshah Al-Ansariyyah, that the Messenger of
Allah
(saw) entered upon her, and there was a water skin hanging
there. He
drank from it while standing, and she cut off the mouth of
the water
skin, seeking the blessing of the place where the mouth of
the
Messenger of Allah (saw) had been.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، أَنْبَأَنَا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ يَزِيدَ بْنِ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ، عَنْ جَدَّةٍ، لَهُ يُقَالُ لَهَا كَبْشَةُ الأَنْصَارِيَّةُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ دَخَلَ عَلَيْهَا وَعِنْدَهَا قِرْبَةٌ مُعَلَّقَةٌ فَشَرِبَ مِنْهَا وَهُوَ قَائِمٌ فَقَطَعَتْ فَمَ الْقِرْبَةِ تَبْتَغِي بَرَكَةَ مَوْضِعِ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 3591
It was
narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar that ‘Umar bin Khattab saw a
silken two piece suit (being offered for sale). He said:
“O
Messenger
of Allah, why don’t you buy this two piece suit (to wear
for meeting)
the delegations, and on Fridays?” The Messenger of
Allah (saw) said:
“This is only worn by one who has no share in the
Hereafter.”

" إِنَّمَا يَلْبَسُ هَذَا مَنْ لاَ خَلاَقَ لَهُ فِي الآخِرَةِ " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 2931
It was
narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:
“I heard the Prophet (saw)
delivering a sermon – (one of the narrators) Hisham said: ‘On the
pulpit’ – and he said: ‘Whoever does not have a waist wrap, let
him
wear pants or pajamas, and whoever does not have sandals, let him
wear
leather socks.’” In his narration, Hisham said: “If he
does not find
any, then let him wear pants or pajamas.”

narrated that ‘Aishah said:
“When the Messenger of Allah (saw)
said the Salam, he would sit only for as long as it took to say:
‘Allahumma Antas-Salam wa minkas-salam. Tabarakta ya Dhal-jalali
wal-
ikram. (O Allah, You are As-Salam, From You is all peace, blessed
are
You O Possessor of majesty and honour).’”

Sunan Ibn Majah 1069
It was
narrated from Mujahid, Sa’eed bin Jubair, ‘Ata’ bin Abi Rabah
and Tawus that Ibn ‘Abbas told them that the Messenger of Allah
(saw)
used to combine the Maghrib and ‘Isha’ when traveling,
although there
was nothing to make him hurry and no enemy pursuing
him, and he was
not afraid of anything.

Kathir
bin ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr bin ‘Awf Al-Muzani narrated from his
father, that his grandfather said:
“I heard the Messenger of Allah
(saw) say: ‘On Friday there is a time of the day during which no
person asks Allah for something but He will give him what he asks
for.’” It was said: ‘When is that time?’ He said: ‘When the
Iqamah for
prayer (is called), until the prayer ends.’”

narrated that Abu Mas`ud said:
The Messenger of Allah (saw)
said:
“Whoever recites the last two Verses of Surat Al-Baqarah at
night,
that will be sufficient for him.”
In his narration (one of the narrators) Hafs said: “`Abdur-Rahman said: ‘I met Abu Mas`ud when he was performing Tawaf, and he narrated this to me.’”

“The Prophet (saw) said: ‘If

of you becomes drowsy, let him sleep until he feels refreshed,

does not know, if he prays when he feels drowsy, he may want to
say
words seeking forgiveness but (instead) he ends up cursing
himself.’”

Sunan Ibn Majah 1430
It was
narrated from Yazid bin Abu ‘Ubaid that Salamah bin Al-Akwa’
used
to offer the Duha prayer, and he would come to the pillar that
was
near the Mushaf. I said to him:
“Why do you not pray over there?”
And I pointed to some corner of the mosque. He said: “I saw the
Messenger of Allah (saw) seeking out this place.”

narrated from ‘Imran bin Husain:
“The Messenger of Allah (SAW)
said: ‘Your brother Najashi has died, so offer the funeral prayer
for
him.” Then he stood and we prayed behind him. I was in the
second row
and two rows prayed for him.”

" إِنَّ أَخَاكُمُ النَّجَاشِيَّ قَدْ مَاتَ فَصَلُّوا عَلَيْهِ " . قَالَ فَقَامَ فَصَلَّيْنَا خَلْفَهُ وَإِنِّي لَفِي الصَّفِّ الثَّانِي فَصَلَّى عَلَيْهِ صفَّين.

“When you see a funeral (procession) stand up for it until it has
passed by or it is placed on the ground.”

" إِذَا رَأَيْتُمُ الْجِنَازَةَ فَقُومُوا لَهَا حَتَّى تُخَلِّفَكُمْ أَوْ تُوضَعَ " .

narrated from Abu Qatadah that the Messenger of Allah (saw)
said:
“(Good) dreams come from Allah and (bad) dreams come from Satan,
so
if anyone of you sees something that he dislikes, let him spit
dryly
to his left three times, and seek refuge with Allah from the
accursed
Satan three times, and turn over onto his other side.”

" الرُّؤْيَا مِنَ اللَّهِ وَالْحُلْمُ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ فَإِنْ رَأَى أَحَدُكُمْ شَيْئًا يَكْرَهُهُ فَلْيَبْصُقْ عَنْ يَسَارِهِ ثَلاَثًا وَلْيَسْتَعِذْ بِاللَّهِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ ثَلاَثًا وَلْيَتَحَوَّلْ عَنْ جَنْبِهِ الَّذِي كَانَ عَلَيْهِ " .

It was narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (saw)
said:
“Adhering to religion will only become harder and worldly
affairs will only become more difficult, and people will only become
more stingy, and the Hour will only come upon the worst of people,
and
the only Mahdi (after Muhammad (saw)) is ‘Eisa bin Maryam.”

" لاَ يَزْدَادُ الأَمْرُ إِلاَّ شِدَّةً وَلاَ الدُّنْيَا إِلاَّ إِدْبَارًا وَلاَ النَّاسُ إِلاَّ شُحًّا وَلاَ تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ إِلاَّ عَلَى شِرَارِ النَّاسِ وَلاَ الْمَهْدِيُّ إِلاَّ عِيسَى ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ " .

It was
narrated from Abu Umamah that the Messenger of Allah (saw)
said:
“The
one who most deserved to be envied, un my view, is the one
who has
the least burden, who prays a great deal and finds joy in
prayer, and
who is unknown among people and is not paid any heed. His
provision
will be sufficient, he will be content with it, his death
will come
quickly, his estate will be small and his mourners will be
few.”

" إِنَّ أَغْبَطَ النَّاسِ عِنْدِي مُؤْمِنٌ خَفِيفُ الْحَاذِ ذُو حَظٍّ مِنْ صَلاَةٍ غَامِضٌ فِي النَّاسِ لاَ يُؤْبَهُ لَهُ كَانَ رِزْقُهُ كَفَافًا وَصَبَرَ عَلَيْهِ عَجِلَتْ مَنِيَّتُهُ وَقَلَّ تُرَاثُهُ وَقَلَّتْ بَوَاكِيهِ " .

It was
narrated that Abu Ayyub said:
“A man came to the Prophet (saw)
and
said: ‘O Messenger of Allah, teach me but make it concise.’ He
said: ‘When you stand to pray, pray like a man bidding farewell. Do
not say anything for which you will have to apologize. And give up
hope for what other people have.’”

" إِذَا قُمْتَ فِي صَلاَتِكَ فَصَلِّ صَلاَةَ مُوَدِّعٍ وَلاَ تَكَلَّمْ بِكَلاَمٍ تَعْتَذِرُ مِنْهُ وَأَجْمِعِ الْيَأْسَ عَمَّا فِي أَيْدِي النَّاسِ " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 4192
‘Amir
bin ‘Abdullah bin Zubair narrated that his father told him that
there was no more than four years between their becoming Muslim and
the revelation of this Verse, by which Allah reprimanded them:
“Lest
they become as those who received the Scripture before, and the term
was prolonged for them and so their hearts were hardened? And many of
them were rebellious.” [57:16]

It was
narrated that ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr said:
“It was said to the
Messenger of Allah (saw): ‘Which of the people is best?’ He said:
‘Everyone who is pure of heart and sincere in speech.’ They said:
‘Sincere in speech, we know what this is, but what is pure of
heart?’
He said: ‘It is (the heart) that is pious and pure, with
no sin,
injustice, rancor or envy in it.’”

narrated from Abu Dharr that the Messenger of Allah (saw)

know a word – (one of the narrators) ‘Uthman said: “a Verse”
– which if all the people followed it, it would suffice them.”
They
said: “O Messenger of Allah, which Verse?” He said: “And
whosoever
fears Allah, He will make a way out for him.” [65:2]

bin Jabal said:
“I heard the Messenger of Allah (saw) say:
‘Paradise has one hundred grades, each of which is as big as the
distance between heaven and earth. The highest of them is Firdaws and
the best of them is Firdaws. The Throne is above Firdaws and from it
spring forth the rivers of Paradise. If you ask of Allah, ask Him for
Firdaws.’”

`Abdullah bin ‘AbdurRahman bin Abi Dhubab narrated from his father that ‘Uthman bin ‘Affan (رضي الله عنه) prayed four rak`ahs in Mina and the people objected to that. He said:
O people, I have taken a wife in Makkah since I came here, and I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)say: “Whoever takes a wife in a city should offer the prayer of one who is a resident (i.e., in full).

My father told me, from his father, that ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: I was with the Prophet (ﷺ) when Abu Bakr and `Umar (رضي الله عنهما) came and he said: `O `Ali, these two are the leaders of the middle aged people of Paradise and its youth, after the Prophet (ﷺ) and Messengers.”

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that a slave of Abdullah ibn Umar stole while he was a runaway. Abdullah ibn Umar sent him to Said ibn al-As, who was the amir of Madina, to cut off his hand. Said refused to cut off his hand. He said, "The hand of a runaway slave is not cut off when he steals." Abdullah ibn Umar said to him, "In what Book of Allah did you find this?" Then Abdullah ibn Umar gave the order, and his hand was cut off.
حَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدًا، لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ سَرَقَ وَهُوَ آبِقٌ فَأَرْسَلَ بِهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ إِلَى سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْعَاصِ - وَهُوَ أَمِيرُ الْمَدِينَةِ - لِيَقْطَعَ يَدَهُ فَأَبَى سَعِيدٌ أَنْ يَقْطَعَ يَدَهُ وَقَالَ لاَ تُقْطَعُ يَدُ الآبِقِ السَّارِقِ إِذَا سَرَقَ . فَقَالَ لَهُ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ فِي أَىِّ كِتَابِ اللَّهِ وَجَدْتَ هَذَا ثُمَّ أَمَرَ بِهِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ فَقُطِعَتْ يَدُهُ .

Yahya related to me from Malik from Ishaq ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Talha that Anas ibn Malik said, "I was serving wine to Abu Ubayda ibn al-Jarrah and Abu Talha al-Ansari and Umayy ibn Kab. The wine had been prepared from crushed ripe dates and dried dates. Someone came to them and said, 'Wine has been made haram.' Abu Talha ordered me to go and take the jugs and break them. I stood up and went to a mortar of ours and I struck them with the bottom of it until they broke."
وَحَدَّثَنِي عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي طَلْحَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ كُنْتُ أَسْقِي أَبَا عُبَيْدَةَ بْنَ الْجَرَّاحِ وَأَبَا طَلْحَةَ الأَنْصَارِيَّ وَأُبَىَّ بْنَ كَعْبٍ شَرَابًا مِنْ فَضِيخٍ وَتَمْرٍ - قَالَ - فَجَاءَهُمْ آتٍ فَقَالَ إِنَّ الْخَمْرَ قَدْ حُرِّمَتْ . فَقَالَ أَبُو طَلْحَةَ يَا أَنَسُ قُمْ إِلَى هَذِهِ الْجِرَارِ فَاكْسِرْهَا . قَالَ فَقُمْتُ إِلَى مِهْرَاسٍ لَنَا فَضَرَبْتُهَا بِأَسْفَلِهِ حَتَّى تَكَسَّرَتْ .

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 60
Amr bin Amir Al-Ansari narrated that he heard Anas bin Malik saying:
"The Prophet would perform Wudu for every Salat." I said, "So what about you, what would you do?" He said I wouId pray all of the prayers with one Wudu, as long as we had not committed Hadath (anything that invalidates Wudu)."

قَالَ سَعِيدٌ قَالَ سُفْيَانُ وَحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، نَحْوَ هَذَا . قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، وَابْنِ، عَبَّاسٍ وَوَاثِلَةَ بْنِ الأَسْقَعِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ . وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ أَحْمَدَ وَإِسْحَاقَ . وَقَدْ رَوَى يُونُسُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ .

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:
Allah's Apostle said: (I saw in a dream that) I entered Paradise, and behold, there was a palace built of gold! I asked, 'For whom is this palace?' They (the angels) replied, 'For a man from the Quraish.' " The Prophet added, "O Ibn Al-Khattab! Nothing stopped me from entering it except your Ghira." `Umar said, "How dare I think of my Ghira being offended by you, O Allah's Apostle?"

It was narrated that Ziyad bin Subaih said:
"I prayed beside Ibn Umar and put my hand on my waist, and he did this to me-knocked it with his hand. When I had finished praying I said to a man: 'Who is this?' He said: "Abdullah bin Umar.' I said: 'O Abu Abdur-Rahman, why are you angry with me?' He said: 'This is the posture of crucifixion, and the Mesenger of Allah (SAW) forbade us to do this.'"

It was narrated that Ubayy bin Ka'b said:
"The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, did not reveal in the Tawrah or the Injil anything like Umm Al-Quran (Al-Fatihah), which is the seven oft-recited, and (Allah said) it is divided between Myself and My slave will have what he asked for.'"

Sunan an-Nasa'i 977
It was narrated from Abdullah bin Abi Qatadah that his father said:
"The Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to recite the Umm Al-Quran and two surahs in the first two rak'ahs of Zuhr and 'Asr, and in the last two with Umm Al-Quran, and he would make us hear a verse sometimes, and he used to make the first rak'ah lengthy."

'Asim bin Humaid said:
"I heard 'Awf bin Malik say: 'I prayed Qiyam with the Messenger of Allah (SAW) one night, and when he bowed, he stayed as long as it takes to recite Surat Al-Baqarah, saying: "Subhana Dhil-jabaruti wal-malakuti wal-kibriya' wal-'azamah (Glory be to the One Who has all power, sovereignty, magnificence and might)."
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ، - يَعْنِي النَّسَائِيَّ - قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ مُعَاوِيَةَ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ صَالِحٍ - عَنْ أَبِي قَيْسٍ الْكِنْدِيِّ، - وَهُوَ عَمْرُو بْنُ قَيْسٍ - قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَاصِمَ بْنَ حُمَيْدٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَوْفَ بْنَ مَالِكٍ، يَقُولُ قُمْتُ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم لَيْلَةً فَلَمَّا رَكَعَ مَكَثَ قَدْرَ سُورَةِ الْبَقَرَةِ يَقُولُ فِي رُكُوعِهِ
" سُبْحَانَ ذِي الْجَبَرُوتِ وَالْمَلَكُوتِ وَالْكِبْرِيَاءِ وَالْعَظَمَةِ " .

Sunan an-Nasa'i 1082
It was narrated that Mutarrif said:
"Imran bin Husain and I prayed behind Ali bin Abi Talib. When he prostrated he said the Takbir, and when he raised his head from prostration he said the takbir, and when he stood up following two rak'ahs he said the takbir, and when he had finished praying, 'Imran took my hand and said: 'This reminded me of- he said a word meaning- the prayer of Muhammad (SAW).'"
أَخْبَرَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَبِيبِ بْنِ عَرَبِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ، عَنْ غَيْلاَنَ بْنِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ مُطَرِّفٍ، قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ أَنَا وَعِمْرَانُ بْنُ حُصَيْنٍ، خَلْفَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ فَكَانَ إِذَا سَجَدَ كَبَّرَ وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ مِنَ السُّجُودِ كَبَّرَ وَإِذَا نَهَضَ مِنَ الرَّكْعَتَيْنِ كَبَّرَ فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ أَخَذَ عِمْرَانُ بِيَدِي فَقَالَ لَقَدْ ذَكَّرَنِي هَذَا - قَالَ كَلِمَةً يَعْنِي - صَلاَةَ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم .

The Messenger of Allah (SAW) used to say salam to his right:As-salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah) , until the whiteness of his right cheek could be seen, and to his left: As-salamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullah (peace be upon you and the mercy of Allah) until the whiteness of his left cheek could be seen.

It was narrated that Abdullah bin Umar said:
"A man stood up and said: 'O Messenger of Allah (SAW), how are the prayers at night to be done?' The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: 'Prayers at night are (offered) two by two, then if you fear that dawn will come, pray witr with one.'"

" صَلاَةُ اللَّيْلِ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى فَإِذَا خِفْتَ الصُّبْحَ فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ " .

"I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: 'Whoever prays twelve rak'ahs a day, Allah (SWT), the Mighty and Sublime, will build for him a house in Paradise.'"
أَخْبَرَنِي أَيُّوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا مُعَمَّرُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ حِبَّانَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عَنْبَسَةَ بْنِ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أُمِّ حَبِيبَةَ، قَالَتْ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ
" مَنْ صَلَّى فِي يَوْمٍ ثِنْتَىْ عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً بَنَى اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ لَهُ بَيْتًا فِي الْجَنَّةِ " . قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَطَاءٌ لَمْ يَسْمَعْهُ مِنْ عَنْبَسَةَ .

حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي وَعَمِّي، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ، أَنَّ أَبَاهُ، جُبَيْرَ بْنَ مُطْعِمٍ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً أَتَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَكَلَّمَتْهُ فِي شَىْءٍ، فَأَمَرَهَا بِأَمْرٍ فَقَالَتْ أَرَأَيْتَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنْ لَمْ أَجِدْكَ قَالَ
" إِنْ لَمْ تَجِدِينِي فَأْتِي أَبَا بَكْرٍ ". زَادَ الْحُمَيْدِيُّ عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ سَعْدٍ كَأَنَّهَا تَعْنِي الْمَوْتَ.
