Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 827
'A'isha said that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and
grant him peace, said, "'A'ish! Jibril sends you greetings." She said,
"And peace be upon him and the mercy of Allah." She remarked, "He sees
what I do not see."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، أَنَّ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم: يَا عَائِشُ، هَذَا جِبْرِيلُ يَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكِ السَّلاَمَ، قَالَتْ: وَعَلَيْهِ السَّلاَمُ وَرَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ، قَالَتْ: وَهُوَ يَرَى مَا لا أَرَى.

Bulugh al-Maram 734
Abu Qatadah Al-Ansari (RAA) narrated concerning his hunting a zebra while he is not in a state of Ihram, that ‘Allah’s Messenger (P.B.U.H.) said to Abu Qatada’s companions -who were in a state of Ihram, "Did any one of you ask Abu Qatadah to attack the herd, or point it out to him?" They said, ‘No.’ The Prophet then said, "Then, you may eat what is left of the quarry." Agreed upon.
وَعَنْ أَبِي قَتَادَةَ اَلْأَنْصَارِيِّ - رضى الله عنه - { فِي قِصَّةِ صَيْدِهِ اَلْحِمَارَ اَلْوَحْشِيَّ, وَهُوَ غَيْرُ مُحْرِمٍ, قَالَ: فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اَللَّهِ - صلى الله عليه وسلم -لِأَصْحَابِهِ, وَكَانُوا مُحْرِمِينَ: " هَلْ مِنْكُمْ أَحَدٌ أَمَرَهُ أَوْ أَشَارَ إِلَيْهِ بِشَيْءٍ ? " قَالُوا: لَا. قَالَ: " فَكُلُوا مَا بَقِيَ مِنْ لَحْمِهِ " } مُتَّفَقٌ عَلَيْهِ 1 .

Mishkat al-Masabih 2076
‘A'isha said:
The Prophet came to visit me one day and asked if I had anything [to eat]. When I said I had nothing he replied, “Then I shall observe a fast.” When he came to me another day and I told him I had been given a present of some hais* he said, “Show me it, for I began the day fasting.” Then he ate.
*A mixture of dates and clarified butter.
Muslim transmitted it.
وَعَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ يَوْمٍ فَقَالَ: «هَلْ عِنْدَكُمْ شَيْءٌ؟» فَقُلْنَا: لَا قَالَ: «فَإِنِّي إِذًا صَائِمٌ» . ثُمَّ أَتَانَا يَوْمًا آخَرَ فَقُلْنَا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أُهْدِيَ لَنَا حَيْسٌ فَقَالَ: «أَرِينِيهِ فَلَقَدْ أَصْبَحْتُ صَائِمًا» فَأَكَلَ. رَوَاهُ مُسلم

Mishkat al-Masabih 2348
Asma’ daughter of Yazid said she heard God’s messenger reciting, “My servants who have transgressed against their souls, do not despair of God’s mercy, for God pardons all sins,”* [adding] “and He does not care.”
*Qur’an, xxxix, 53.
Ahmad and Tirmidhi transmitted it, the latter saying this is a hasan gharib tradition. Sharh as-sunna has “saying” instead of “reciting.”

Sahih Muslim 882 b
'Abdullah b. 'Umar, while describing the Nafl prayer of the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him), said:
He did not observe (Nafl) prayer after Jumu'a till he went back and observed two rak'ahs in his house. Yahya said: I guess that I uttered these words (before Imam Malik) that he of course observed (them).
وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّهُ وَصَفَ تَطَوُّعَ صَلاَةِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ فَكَانَ لاَ يُصَلِّي بَعْدَ الْجُمُعَةِ حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ فَيُصَلِّي رَكْعَتَيْنِ فِي بَيْتِهِ . قَالَ يَحْيَى أَظُنُّنِي قَرَأْتُ فَيُصَلِّي أَوْ أَلْبَتَّةَ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 3753
It was narrated from Amr bin Shuaib, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Messenger of Allah(SAW) said:
"No one tells the stories to the people (for the purpose of exhortation) except a ruler, one appointed by a ruler, or a show-off."

"Do not corrupt the Sunnah of our Prophet Muhammad (SAW). The waiting period of an Umm Walad is four months and ten (days)."

“The testimony of a Bedouin against a town-dweller is not permissible.”

It was narrated that Jabir said:
“The Messenger of Allah (SAW) ruled that the blood money should be paid by the near male relations from the father's side of the killer, and the such relatives of slain woman said: 'O Messenger of Allah (SAW),her legacy is for us.' He said: 'No, her legacy is for her husband and children.'”

with a brass ring on his hand. He said:
“What is this ring?” He
said: “It is for Wahinah.”* He said: “Take it off, for it will
only
increase you in weakness.”

said: ‘Do not have any doubt about food, (thereby) following the

of the Christians in that.’”

" لاَ يَخْتَلِجَنَّ فِي صَدْرِكَ طَعَامٌ ضَارَعْتَ فِيهِ نَصْرَانِيَّةً " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 4009
It was narrated from ‘Ubaidullah bin Jarir that his father said:
“The
Messenger of Allah (saw) said: ‘There is no people among
whom sins are
committed when they are stronger and of a higher status
(i.e. they
have the power and ability to stop the sinners) and they
do not change
them, but Allah will send His punishment upon them
all.’”

" مَا مِنْ قَوْمٍ يُعْمَلُ فِيهِمْ بِالْمَعَاصِي هُمْ أَعَزُّ مِنْهُمْ وَأَمْنَعُ لاَ يُغَيِّرُونَ إِلاَّ عَمَّهُمُ اللَّهُ بِعِقَابٍ " .

Musnad Ahmad 258
It was narrated from Zaid bin Aslam from his father from `Umar that:
He found a horse that he had given to someone (for jihad) for the sake of Allah being offered for sale in the marketplace, and he wanted to buy it. He asked the Prophet (ﷺ) [about that] and he told him not to do that and said: “Do not take back your charity.`
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّهُ وَجَدَ فَرَسًا كَانَ حَمَلَ عَلَيْهَا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ تُبَاعُ فِي السُّوقِ فَأَرَادَ أَنْ يَشْتَرِيَهَا فَسَأَلَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَنَهَاهُ وَقَالَ لَا تَعُودَنَّ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ.

It was narrated from `Ali (رضي الله عنه) that The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade wearing rings on this or this - the middle finger and the index finger, Jabir - i.e., al-Ju`fi - said:
It is the middle finger, no doubt about it.

Sahih al-Bukhari 4881
Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, "In Paradise there is a tree which is so big that a rider can travel in its shade for one hundred years without passing it; and if you wish, you can recite: 'In shade long extended.' 56.30.
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ يَبْلُغُ بِهِ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ شَجَرَةً يَسِيرُ الرَّاكِبُ فِي ظِلِّهَا مِائَةَ عَامٍ لاَ يَقْطَعُهَا، وَاقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ {وَظِلٍّ مَمْدُودٍ} ".

Narrated Anas bin Malik:
The Prophet had a Had (a camel driver) called Anjasha, and he had a nice voice. The Prophet said to him, "(Drive) slowly, O Anjasha! Do not break the glass vessels!" And Qatada said, "(By vessels') he meant the weak women."
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ، أَخْبَرَنَا حَبَّانُ، حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ، حَدَّثَنَا قَتَادَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ كَانَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم حَادٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ أَنْجَشَةُ، وَكَانَ حَسَنَ الصَّوْتِ، فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" رُوَيْدَكَ يَا أَنْجَشَةُ، لاَ تَكْسِرِ الْقَوَارِيرَ ". قَالَ قَتَادَةُ يَعْنِي ضَعَفَةَ النِّسَاءِ.

Narrated Al-Qasim bin Muhammad:
Ibn `Abbas mentioned the couple who had taken the oath of Lian. `Abdullah bin Shaddad said (to him), "Was this woman about whom Allah's Apostle said, 'If I were ever to stone to death any woman without witnesses. (I would have stoned that woman to death)?' Ibn `Abbas replied," No, that lady exposed herself (by her suspicious behavior).
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الزِّنَادِ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ ذَكَرَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ الْمُتَلاَعِنَيْنِ فَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ هِيَ الَّتِي قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" لَوْ كُنْتُ رَاجِمًا امْرَأَةً عَنْ غَيْرِ بَيِّنَةٍ ". قَالَ لاَ، تِلْكَ امْرَأَةٌ أَعْلَنَتْ.

Riyad as-Salihin 142
Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:
The Prophet (PBUH) came in when a woman was sitting beside me. He asked me, "Who is she?" I said: "She is the one whose performance of Salat (prayer) has become the talk of the town." Addressing her, he (PBUH) said, "(What is this!) You are required to take upon yourselves only what you can carry out easily. By Allah, Allah does not withhold His Mercy and forgiveness of you until you neglect and give up (good works). Allah likes the deeds best which a worshipper can carry out constantly".

- وعن عائشة رضي الله عنها أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم دخل عليها وعندها امرأة قال: من هذه؟ قالت: هذه فلانة تذكر من صلاتها قال:
" مه عليكم بما تطيقون، فوالله لا يمل الله حتى تملوا" وكان أحب الدين إليه ما داوم صاحبه عليه. ((متفق عليه)) .

Sunan an-Nasa'i 1583
It was narrated that Jabir bin Samurah said:
"I saw the Messenger of Allah (SAW) delivering the Khutbah standing up, then he sat down for a while and did not speak, then he stood up and delivered another Khutbah. Whoever tells you that the Prophet (SAW) delivered a Khutbah sitting do not believe him."
أَخْبَرَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ سَمُرَةَ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَخْطُبُ قَائِمًا ثُمَّ يَقْعُدُ قَعْدَةً لاَ يَتَكَلَّمُ فِيهَا ثُمَّ قَامَ فَخَطَبَ خُطْبَةً أُخْرَى فَمَنْ خَبَّرَكَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم خَطَبَ قَاعِدًا فَلاَ تُصَدِّقْهُ .

Narrated Jarir:
The Prophet said to me during Hajjat-al-Wada`, "Let the people keep quiet and listen." Then he said (addressing the people), "Beware! Do not renegade as disbelievers after me by striking (cutting) the necks of one another."
حَدَّثَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُدْرِكٍ، سَمِعْتُ أَبَا زُرْعَةَ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَرِيرٍ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، جَرِيرٍ قَالَ قَالَ لِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ " اسْتَنْصِتِ النَّاسَ ". ثُمَّ قَالَ " لاَ تَرْجِعُوا بَعْدِي كُفَّارًا، يَضْرِبُ بَعْضُكُمْ رِقَابَ بَعْضٍ ".

Allah's Apostle said, "Do not wish to be like anyone, except in two cases: (1) A man whom Allah has given wealth and he spends it righteously. (2) A man whom Allah has given wisdom (knowledge of the Qur'an and the Hadith) and he acts according to it and teaches it to others."
حَدَّثَنَا شِهَابُ بْنُ عَبَّادٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ قَيْسٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" لاَ حَسَدَ إِلاَّ فِي اثْنَتَيْنِ، رَجُلٌ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ مَالاً فَسَلَّطَهُ عَلَى هَلَكَتِهِ فِي الْحَقِّ، وَآخَرُ آتَاهُ اللَّهُ حِكْمَةً فَهْوَ يَقْضِي بِهَا وَيُعَلِّمُهَا ".

Narrated Al-Qasim bin Muhammad:
Ibn `Abbas mentioned the case of a couple on whom the judgment of Lian has been passed. `Abdullah bin Shaddad said, "Was that the lady in whose case the Prophet said, "If I were to stone a lady to death without a proof (against her)?' "Ibn `Abbas said, "No! That was concerned with a woman who though being a Muslim used to arouse suspicion by her outright misbehavior." (See Hadith No. 230, Vol.7)

Narrated `Abdullah:

(to others i.e., religious knowledge of Qur'an and Sunna (Prophet's Traditions)). "

the Prophet said, "Allah said, "I have prepared for My righteous slaves (such excellent things) as no eye has ever seen, nor an ear has ever heard nor a human heart can ever think of.' "

Narrated Hudhaifa that he saw a person bowing and prostrating imperfectly. When he finished his Salat, Hudhaifa told him that he had not offered Salat. The subnarrator added, "I think that Hudhaifa also said:
Were you to die you would die on a "Sunna" (legal way) other than that of Muhammad (saws)."
أَخْبَرَنَا الصَّلْتُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَهْدِيٌّ، عَنْ وَاصِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، رَأَى رَجُلاً لاَ يُتِمُّ رُكُوعَهُ وَلاَ سُجُودَهُ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ قَالَ لَهُ حُذَيْفَةُ مَا صَلَّيْتَ ـ قَالَ وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ ـ لَوْ مُتَّ مُتَّ عَلَى غَيْرِ سُنَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Abu Sa`id was sitting in the company of Abu
Huraira and he did not deny anything of his narration till he reached his saying: "All this and as much
again therewith are for you." Then Abu Sa`id said, "I heard Allah's Apostle saying, 'This is for you
and ten times as much.' " Abu Huraira said, "In my memory it is 'as much again therewith.' "
قَالَ عَطَاءٌ وَأَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ جَالِسٌ مَعَ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، لاَ يُغَيِّرُ عَلَيْهِ شَيْئًا مِنْ حَدِيثِهِ حَتَّى انْتَهَى إِلَى قَوْلِهِ " هَذَا لَكَ وَمِثْلُهُ مَعَهُ ". قَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ " هَذَا لَكَ وَعَشَرَةُ أَمْثَالِهِ ". قَالَ أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ حَفِظْتُ " مِثْلُهُ مَعَهُ ".

Narrated Jabir:
Allah's Apostle came to visit me while I was sick and unconscious. He performed ablution and sprinkled the remaining water on me and I became conscious and said, "O Allah's Apostle! To whom will my inheritance go as I have neither ascendants nor descendants?" Then the Divine verses regarding Fara'id (inheritance) were revealed.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْوَلِيدِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرًا، يَقُولُ جَاءَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَعُودُنِي، وَأَنَا مَرِيضٌ لاَ أَعْقِلُ، فَتَوَضَّأَ وَصَبَّ عَلَىَّ مِنْ وَضُوئِهِ، فَعَقَلْتُ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ لِمَنِ الْمِيرَاثُ إِنَّمَا يَرِثُنِي كَلاَلَةٌ. فَنَزَلَتْ آيَةُ الْفَرَائِضِ.

(on the authority of his father) The Prophet said, "Whoever passes through our mosques or markets with arrows should hold them by their heads lest he should injure a Muslim."

Narrated Abu Wail:
Hudhaifa said, "I saw a person not performing his bowing and prostrations perfectly. When he completed the prayer, I told him that he had not prayed." I think that Hudhaifa added (i.e. said to the man), "Had you died, you would have died on a tradition other than that of the Prophet Muhammad."
حَدَّثَنَا الصَّلْتُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مَهْدِيٌّ، عَنْ وَاصِلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، رَأَى رَجُلاً لاَ يُتِمُّ رُكُوعَهُ وَلاَ سُجُودَهُ، فَلَمَّا قَضَى صَلاَتَهُ قَالَ لَهُ حُذَيْفَةُ مَا صَلَّيْتَ ـ قَالَ وَأَحْسِبُهُ قَالَ ـ وَلَوْ مُتَّ مُتَّ عَلَى غَيْرِ سُنَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Narrated Sahl bin Sa`d:
The people used to offer the prayer with the Prophet with their waist-sheets tied round their necks because of the shortness of the sheets and the women were ordered not to lift their heads till the men had sat straight.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ كَثِيرٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنْ سَهْلِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ كَانَ النَّاسُ يُصَلُّونَ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهُمْ عَاقِدُو أُزْرِهِمْ مِنَ الصِّغَرِ عَلَى رِقَابِهِمْ، فَقِيلَ لِلنِّسَاءِ
" لاَ تَرْفَعْنَ رُءُوسَكُنَّ حَتَّى يَسْتَوِيَ الرِّجَالُ جُلُوسًا ".

The Prophet said, "No Muslim whose three children died will go to the Fire except for Allah's oath (i.e. everyone has to pass over the bridge above the lake of fire)."
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيٌّ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ الزُّهْرِيَّ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ " لاَ يَمُوتُ لِمُسْلِمٍ ثَلاَثَةٌ مِنَ الْوَلَدِ، فَيَلِجَ النَّارَ إِلاَّ تَحِلَّةَ الْقَسَمِ ". قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ {وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلاَّ وَارِدُهَا} .

The Prophet said, "The terror caused by Al-Masih Ad-Dajjal will not enter Medina and at that time Medina will have seven gates and there will be two angels at each gate guarding them."

" لاَ يَدْخُلُ الْمَدِينَةَ رُعْبُ الْمَسِيحِ الدَّجَّالِ، لَهَا يَوْمَئِذٍ سَبْعَةُ أَبْوَابٍ، عَلَى كُلِّ باب مَلَكَانِ ".

the Prophet said "There are five kinds of animals for which there is no sin on the one who kills them when he is in a state of Ihram: Kites, mice, vicious dogs, scorpions and crows."
أَخْبَرَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ أَبُو قُدَامَةَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي نَافِعٌ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
" خَمْسٌ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ لاَ جُنَاحَ عَلَى مَنْ قَتَلَهُنَّ - أَوْ فِي قَتْلِهِنَّ - وَهُوَ حَرَامٌ الْحِدَأَةُ وَالْفَأْرَةُ وَالْكَلْبُ الْعَقُورُ وَالْعَقْرَبُ وَالْغُرَابُ " .

It was narrated from Umma Kurz that the Messenger of Allah said:
"For a boy, two sheep, and or a girl, one sheep, and it does not matter if they are male or female
أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، عَنْ سِبَاعِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ كُرْزٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
" عَنِ الْغُلاَمِ شَاتَانِ وَعَنِ الْجَارِيَةِ شَاةٌ لاَ يَضُرُّكُمْ ذُكْرَانًا كُنَّ أَمْ إِنَاثًا " .

Iya bin 'Abd, the companion of the Prophet said:
"do not sell surplus water, for the Prophet forbade the sale of surplus water."

Sunan an-Nasa'i 5215
It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that:
The Messenger of Allah [SAW] put on a ring of gold and put its stone (Fass) toward his palm. Then the people started to wear rings, and the Messenger of Allah [SAW] discarded it and said: "I will never wear it again."
أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا مِنْ ذَهَبٍ وَجَعَلَ فَصَّهُ مِمَّا يَلِي كَفَّهُ فَاتَّخَذَ النَّاسُ خَوَاتِيمَ فَطَرَحَهُ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَقَالَ
" لاَ أَلْبَسُهُ أَبَدًا " .

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: 'Al-Isbal may apply to the Izar, the Qamis and the turban. Whoever drags any one of these out of vanity, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.'"

Narrated Ibn 'Umar:
that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "People are but like a hundred camels, a man can not find a mount (suitable to ride upon) among them."

" إِنَّمَا النَّاسُ كَإِبِلٍ مِائَةٍ لاَ يَجِدُ الرَّجُلُ فِيهَا رَاحِلَةً " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .

The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said to me: 'Abd al-Rahman, do not ask for a position of authority, for if you are granted this position as a result of your asking for it, you will be left alone (without God's help to discharge the responsibilities attendant thereon), and it you are granted it without making any request for it, you will be helped (by God in the discharge of your duties).

" لاَ تَبْتَعْهُ، وَلاَ تَعُدْ فِي صَدَقَتِكَ ".

It is narrated on the authority of 'Abdullah that the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) observed:
He who has in his heart the weight of a mustard seed of pride shall not enter Paradise.

Narrated Abu Hurairah:
The Messenger of Allah (saws) as saying: Do not fast one day or two days just before Ramadan, except in the case of a man who has been in the habit of observing the particular fast, for he may fast on that day.

Mishkat al-Masabih 2561
Nafi' said that it was Ibn ‘Umar’s habit not to come to Mecca without spending the night at Dhu Tuwa (A place near Mecca), after which he would bathe and pray, then enter Mecca in the daytime. When he left it he went by Way of Dhu Tuwa where he would stay overnight till the morning. He used to say that the Prophet was accustomed to do that.

Umm Farwa said that when asked what act was most excellent, the Prophet replied that it was prayer at the beginning of the proper period for it.
Ahmad, Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it, and Tirmidhi said that the tradition is transmitted only from the traditions of ‘Abdallah b. ‘Umar al-‘Umari who is not considered by traditionists to be strong.

Sahl b. Sa'd reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Two things are not rejected, or are seldom rejected:
a supplication when the call to prayer is made, and in stress when people are locked in battle.” A version has “and when rain is falling”.
Abu Dawud and Darimi transmitted it, but Darimi did not mention “and when rain is falling”.

Mu'adh b. Jabal said that the Prophet used to like to pray in al-hitan*. One of its transmitters says that it means gardens.
* I have given the Arabic word because it is explained in the text. Why it should need to be explained is not clear.
Tirmidhi transmitted it and said, “This is a gharib tradition which we know only among the traditions of al-Hasan b. Abu Ja'far whom Yahya b. Sa'id and others have declared to be weak.”

Ibn ‘Umar reported God’s Messenger as saying, "There are three people whose prayer is not accepted:

Abu Huraira reported God s Messenger as saying, “If anyone performs ablution, doing it well, then goes and finds that the people have finished the prayer, God will give him a reward equivalent to that of those who prayed and were present at it without that diminishing anything from their rewards.”

Abu Huraira said that when the Prophet was asked for what reason Friday got its name he replied, "Because on it the nature of your father Adam was fashioned, on it will take place the shout and the resurrection of the dead, on it the assault* will take place, and at the end of three hours in it there is a time at which anyone who makes supplication to God will be answered."

Dihya b. Khalifa said :
When the Prophet was brought some pieces of fine Egyptian linen he gave me one and said, “Divide it into two; cut one of the pieces into a shirt and give the other to your wife for a veil.” Then when he turned away he said, “And order your wife to wear a garment below it and not show her figure.”
Abu Dawud transmitted it.
وَعَن دِحيةَ بن خليفةَ قَالَ: أَتَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِقَبَاطِيَّ فَأَعْطَانِي مِنْهَا قُبْطِيَّةً فَقَالَ: «اصْدَعْهَا صَدْعَيْنِ فَاقْطَعْ أَحَدَهُمَا قَمِيصًا وَأَعْطِ الْآخَرَ امْرَأَتَكَ تَخْتَمِرُ بِهِ» . فَلَمَّا أَدْبَرَ قَالَ: «وَأْمُرِ امْرَأَتَكَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَ تَحْتَهُ ثَوْبًا لَا يَصِفُهَا» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد

Qabisa b. Hulb quoted his father as saying that he asked the Prophet about the food of the Christians, (a version saying it was a man who asked him), adding that it was a kind of food from which he kept aloof. He replied, “Let no doubt enter your breast by which you resemble Christianity.”*
*The general sense is that such food is allowable.
Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it.
وَعَنْ قَبِيصَةَ بْنِ هُلْبٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: سَأَلْتُ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ طَعَامِ النَّصَارَى وَفِي رِوَايَةٍ: سَأَلَهُ رَجُلٌ فَقَالَ: إِنَّ مِنَ الطَّعَامِ طَعَامًا أَتَحَرَّجُ مِنْهُ فَقَالَ: «لَا يَتَخَلَّجَنَّ فِي صَدْرِكَ شَيْءٌ ضَارَعْتَ فِيهِ النَّصْرَانِيَّة» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيّ وَأَبُو دَاوُد

'Uqba b. 'Amir told that he said to the Prophet, "You send us out and we come to people who do not give us hospitality, so what is your opinion?" Abu Sa'id al-Khudri told that the Prophet forbade blowing into a drink. When a man said he saw specks in the vessel he told him to pour them out, and when he said his thirst was not quenched in one breath he told him to remove the cup from his mouth and take a breath.

وَعَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ أَنَّ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ النَّفْخِ فِي الشَّرَابِ فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ: الْقَذَاةَ أَرَاهَا فِي الْإِنَاءِ قَالَ: «أَهْرِقْهَا» قَالَ: فَإِنِّي لَا أُرْوَى مِنْ نَفَسٍ وَاحِدٍ قَالَ: «فَأَبِنِ الْقَدَحَ عَنْ فِيكَ ثُمَّ تَنَفَّسْ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ والدارمي

He reported God's messenger as saying, "The last hour will not come before you fight with Khuz and Kirman[*] who are foreigners with red faces, snub noses and small eyes, whose faces look as if they were shields covered with skin and whose sandals are of hair."
*Yaqut, Mu'jam, ii, 494, says Khuz is used both of Khuzistan and of its people. The districts mentioned are in what is now Iran.
Bukhari transmitted it. A version of his on the authority of `Amr b. Taghlib has ``broad faces."
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تَقُومُ السَّاعَةُ حَتَّى تُقَاتِلُوا خُوزًا وَكِرْمَانَ مِنَ الْأَعَاجِمِ حُمْرَ الْوُجُوهِ فُطْسَ الْأُنُوفِ صِغَارَ الْأَعْيُنِ وُجُوهُهُمُ الْمَجَانُّ الْمُطْرَقَةُ نِعَالُهُمُ الشّعْر» . رَوَاهُ البُخَارِيّ

Ibn `Abbas reported God's messenger as saying, "God created Israfil who has been keeping his feet in line from the day he was created and not raising his glance. Between him and the Lord who is blessed and exalted there are seventy lights not one of which he could approach without being burned."
Tirmidhi transmitted it and called it sahih.

`Abdallah b. Mas`ud reported God's messenger as saying, "Every prophet has friends from among the prophets, and my friend is my father, the friend of my Lord." He then recited, "Those who will be nearest to Abraham are those who followed him, as well' as this prophet and those who believe, and God is the Patron of the believers[*]."

Mishkat al-Masabih 5905
Anas told that, once when the people of Medina had an alarm the Prophet mounted a slow horse belonging to Abu Talha which took short steps. When he returned, he said, "I found this horse of yours could run like a great river." After that it had none to compete with it. A version says it was never outstripped after that day.

وَعَن أنسٍ أَنَّ أَهْلَ الْمَدِينَةِ فَزِعُوا مَرَّةً فَرَكِبَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَرَسًا لِأَبِي طَلْحَةَ بَطِيئًا وَكَانَ يَقْطِفُ فَلَمَّا رَجَعَ قَالَ: «وَجَدْنَا فَرَسَكُمْ هَذَا بَحْرًا» . فَكَانَ بَعْدَ ذَلِكَ لَا يُجَارَى

'Amr ibn Mu'adh al-Ashhali reported that his grandmother said, "The

women! Do not let any of you women disdain her female neighbour's gift, even
if it is only a burnt sheep's hoof.'"

of your women are slaves of Allah. Rather you should say, 'My boy (ghulami)',
my slavegirl (jariyyati)', 'my lad (fatayi)' or 'my girl
(fatati).'"

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “The lasting good deeds are:
(the saying of) ‘None has the right to be worshipped except Allah alone, How perfect Allah is and Allah is great and all praise is for Allah, There is no might nor power except with Allah.” Related by An-Nasa’i. Ibn Hibban and Al-Hakim graded it as Sahih.

Sahl bin Hunaif (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “He who assists a Mujahid for Allah’s sake, a debtor who is in distress (being unable to pay his debt) or a slave who had made an agreement to buy his freedom, Allah will shade him, with His Shade, on the Day when there will be no shade but His.” Related by Ahmad and Al- Hakim graded it as Sahih.

Narrated al-Miqdam bin Ma'dikarib (RA):
Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "A beast of prey with a fang, a domestic donkey, and a lost item from the property of a Mu'ahid (a disbeliever who has been given a covenant) - unless it is something worthless - are not lawful."

Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar (RA):
Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "The right to inheritance from a freed slave is a relationship like the relationship of blood relatives (lineage); it cannot be sold or given away."
[al-Hakim reported it through ash-Shafi'i's narration from Muhammad bin al-Hasan on the authority of Abu Yusuf. Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (authentic), while al-Baihaqi graded it defective].

Narrated Jubair bin Mut'im (RA):
Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "O descendants of 'Abd Manaf! You must not prevent anyone who goes round this House (Ka'bah) and prays (here) at any hour of the night or day that he wishes."

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas (RA):
Allah's Messenger (SAW) said: "Whoever speaks on Friday while the Imam is giving the Khutbah (religious talk), he is like a donkey which carries books; and he who tells him to be quiet has no Jumu'ah."

Al-Ahwas b. Hakim told on his father’s authority that a man asked
the Prophet about evil, and he replied, "Do not ask me about evil, but
ask me about good,” saying it three times. Then he said, "The worst
evil consists in learned men who are evil, and the best good consists in
learned men who are good.” Darimi transmitted it.
وَعَن الْأَحْوَص بن حَكِيم عَنْ أَبِيهِ قَالَ: سَأَلَ رَجُلٌ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى الله عَلَيْهِ سلم عَنِ الشَّرِّ فَقَالَ: «لَا تَسْأَلُونِي عَنِ الشَّرِّ وَسَلُونِي عَنِ الْخَيْرِ» يَقُولُهَا ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ: «أَلَا إِنَّ شَرَّ الشَّرِّ شِرَارُ الْعُلَمَاءِ وَإِنَّ خير الْخَيْر خِيَار الْعلمَاء» . رَوَاهُ الدَّارمِيّ

Jabir reported that God's messenger said, “Two things have results." On being asked by a man what these two things were, he replied, “He who dies a polytheist will enter hell, and he who dies worshipping God alone will enter paradise."

وَعَن أبي سعيد الْخُدْرِيّ قَالَ: قيل يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَنَتَوَضَّأُ مِنْ بِئْرٍ بُضَاعَةَ وَهِيَ بِئْرٌ يُلْقَى فِيهَا الْحِيَضُ وَلُحُومُ الْكِلَابِ وَالنَّتْنُ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «إِنَّ الْمَاءَ طَهُورٌ لَا يُنَجِّسُهُ شَيْءٌ» . رَوَاهُ أَحْمد وَالتِّرْمِذِيّ وَأَبُو دَاوُد وَالنَّسَائِيّ

Ibn ‘Umar reported God’s messenger as saying, “Do not fast till you see the new moon, and do not break your fast till you see it; but if the weather is cloudy calculate when it should appear.” In a version he said, “The month consists of twenty-nine days, but do not fast till you see it, and if the weather is cloudy wait till thirty days of the previous month have passed.”

Ibn ‘Umar reported God’s messenger as saying, “We are an unlettered people who can neither write nor count. The month is thus and thus and thus,” drawing in his thumb when he said it the third time.* Then he said, “The month is thus and thus and thus,” meaning a complete thirty days. He meant alternately twenty-nine and thirty.
*Spreading out the ten fingers the first two times and nine the third time.

وَعَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «أَنَا أمة أُميَّة لَا تكْتب وَلَا تحسب الشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا» . وَعَقَدَ الْإِبْهَامَ فِي الثَّالِثَةِ. ثُمَّ قَالَ: «الشَّهْرُ هَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا وَهَكَذَا» . يَعْنِي تَمَامَ الثَّلَاثِينَ يَعْنِي مَرَّةً تِسْعًا وَعِشْرِينَ وَمرَّة ثَلَاثِينَ "

Mishkat al-Masabih 2106
She said that the sunna for one who is observing a period of private devotion in a mosque is not to visit an invalid, or attend a funeral, or touch or embrace one’s wife, or go out for anything but necessary purposes. There is no period of private devotion in a mosque without fasting, and it must be carried out in a congregational mosque.

وَعَن عَائِشَة رَضِي الله عَنْهَا قَالَتْ: السُّنَّةُ عَلَى الْمُعْتَكِفِ أَنْ لَا يَعُودَ مَرِيضًا وَلَا يَشْهَدُ جِنَازَةً وَلَا يَمَسُّ الْمَرْأَةَ وَلَا يُبَاشِرُهَا وَلَا يَخْرُجُ لِحَاجَةٍ إِلَّا لِمَا لابد مِنْهُ وَلَا اعْتِكَافَ إِلَّا بِصَوْمٍ وَلَا اعْتِكَافَ إِلَّا فِي مَسْجِدٍ جَامِعٍ. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ

Mishkat al-Masabih 1541
Ka‘b b. Malik reported God’s messenger as saying, “The believer is like a tender plant moved by the winds, sometimes being bent down and sometimes made to stand up straight, till his appointed time comes; but the hypocrite is like the cedar standing firmly, which is unaffected by anything, till it is completely cast down.”( The idea of this tradition is that believers have many troubles during their lifetime, whereas hypocrites escape them.)

وَعَنْ كَعْبِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَمَثَلِ الْخَامَةِ مِنَ الزَّرْعِ تُفَيِّئُهَا الرِّيَاح تصرعها مرّة وتعدلها أُخْرَى حَتَّى يَأْتِيهِ أَجَلُهُ وَمَثَلُ الْمُنَافِقِ كَمَثَلِ الْأَرْزَةِ الْمُجْذِيَةِ الَّتِي لَا يُصِيبُهَا شَيْءٌ حَتَّى يَكُونَ انْجِعَافُهَا مَرَّةً وَاحِدَة»
