Al-Bara’ ibn ‘Azib said:
"I never saw anyone among the people more handsome in a red garb than Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace), when the hair of his head was touching close to his shoulders.”
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْبَرَاءِ بْنِ عَازِبٍ، قَالَ: مَا رَأَيْتُ أَحَدًا مِنَ النَّاسِ أَحْسَنَ فِي حُلَّةٍ حَمْرَاءَ، مِنْ رَسُولِ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، إِنْ كَانَتْ جُمَّتُهُ لَتَضْرِبُ قَرِيبًا مِنْ مَنْكِبَيْهِ.

Sunan Abi Dawud 916
Narrated Sahl ibn al-Hanzaliyyah:
The iqamah for the morning prayer was pronounced and the Messenger of Allah (saws) began to offer prayer while he was looking at the mountain-pass.
(AbuDawud elaborated that the Prophet had sent a horseman to the mountain-pass at night in order to keep watch.)
حَدَّثَنَا الرَّبِيعُ بْنُ نَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ، - يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَلاَّمٍ - عَنْ زَيْدٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَا سَلاَّمٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي السَّلُولِيُّ، - هُوَ أَبُو كَبْشَةَ - عَنْ سَهْلِ ابْنِ الْحَنْظَلِيَّةِ، قَالَ ثُوِّبَ بِالصَّلاَةِ - يَعْنِي صَلاَةَ الصُّبْحِ - فَجَعَلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُصَلِّي وَهُوَ يَلْتَفِتُ إِلَى الشِّعْبِ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَكَانَ أَرْسَلَ فَارِسًا إِلَى الشِّعْبِ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ يَحْرُسُ .

Sahih Muslim 1310 b
Nafi' reported that Ibn 'Umar regarded halt at Muhassab as Sunnah (of the Holy Prophet) and observed the noon prayer on Yaum al-Nafr at that place. Nafi' said:
Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) halted at Muhassab and the Caliphs did the same after him.
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَاتِمِ بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا صَخْرُ بْنُ جُوَيْرِيَةَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، كَانَ يَرَى التَّحْصِيبَ سُنَّةً وَكَانَ يُصَلِّي الظُّهْرَ يَوْمَ النَّفْرِ بِالْحَصْبَةِ . قَالَ نَافِعٌ قَدْ حَصَّبَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَالْخُلَفَاءُ بَعْدَهُ .

Abu Sa'id al-Kbudri (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said:
O Allah, bless us in our sa' and mud and shower with its blessings two other blessings (multiply blessings showerted upon it).
وَحَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، مَوْلَى الْمَهْرِيِّ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
" اللَّهُمَّ بَارِكْ لَنَا فِي صَاعِنَا وَمُدِّنَا وَاجْعَلْ مَعَ الْبَرَكَةِ بَرَكَتَيْنِ".

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 322
Amr bin Shu'aib narrated from his father, from his grandfather (Abdullah bin Amr Al-As), that :
Allah's Messenger prohibited the recitation of poetry in the Masjid, and from selling and buying in it, and (he prohibited) the people from forming circles in it on Friday before the Salat."
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلاَنَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ نَهَى عَنْ تَنَاشُدِ الأَشْعَارِ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَعَنِ الْبَيْعِ وَالاِشْتِرَاءِ فِيهِ وَأَنْ يَتَحَلَّقَ النَّاسُ فِيهِ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ قَبْلَ الصَّلاَةِ . قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ بُرَيْدَةَ وَجَابِرٍ وَأَنَسٍ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ . وَعَمْرُو بْنُ شُعَيْبٍ هُوَ ابْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ . قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ رَأَيْتُ أَحْمَدَ وَإِسْحَاقَ وَذَكَرَ غَيْرَهُمَا يَحْتَجُّونَ بِحَدِيثِ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ . قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ وَقَدْ سَمِعَ شُعَيْبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ مِنْ جَدِّهِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَمَنْ تَكَلَّمَ فِي حَدِيثِ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ إِنَّمَا ضَعَّفَهُ لأَنَّهُ يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ صَحِيفَةِ جَدِّهِ كَأَنَّهُمْ رَأَوْا أَنَّهُ لَمْ يَسْمَعْ هَذِهِ الأَحَادِيثَ مِنْ جَدِّهِ . قَالَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَذُكِرَ عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ أَنَّهُ قَالَ حَدِيثُ عَمْرِو بْنِ شُعَيْبٍ عِنْدَنَا وَاهِي . وَقَدْ كَرِهَ قَوْمٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ الْبَيْعَ وَالشِّرَاءَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَبِهِ يَقُولُ أَحْمَدُ وَإِسْحَاقُ . وَقَدْ رُوِيَ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنَ التَّابِعِينَ ...

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 500
Abu Al-Ja'd - meaning Ad-Damri - narrated, and he was a Companion according to the claim of Muhammad bin Amr:
"Allah's Messenger said: 'Whoever neglects the Friday prayer three times (in a row) without an excuse, then Allah sets a seal upon his heart.'"
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ خَشْرَمٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عِيسَى بْنُ يُونُسَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ بْنِ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ يَعْنِي الضَّمْرِيَّ، وَكَانَتْ، لَهُ صُحْبَةٌ فِيمَا زَعَمَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" مَنْ تَرَكَ الْجُمُعَةَ ثَلاَثَ مَرَّاتٍ تَهَاوُنًا بِهَا طَبَعَ اللَّهُ عَلَى قَلْبِهِ " . قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ وَابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَسَمُرَةَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ . قَالَ وَسَأَلْتُ مُحَمَّدًا عَنِ اسْمِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الضَّمْرِيِّ فَلَمْ يَعْرِفِ اسْمَهُ وَقَالَ لاَ أَعْرِفُ لَهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلاَّ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَلاَ نَعْرِفُ هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ إِلاَّ مِنْ حَدِيثِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو .

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 910
Najiyah Al-Khuza'i (the Companion of the Messenger of Allah) said:
"I said: 'O Messenger of Allah! What should be done with the afflicted among the Hadi?' He said: 'Slaughter them, then dip their sandals in their blood, then leave them so that the people can eat them.'"
حَدَّثَنَا هَارُونُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْهَمْدَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ نَاجِيَةَ الْخُزَاعِيِّ، صَاحِبِ بُدْنِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ أَصْنَعُ بِمَا عَطِبَ مِنَ الْبُدْنِ قَالَ
" انْحَرْهَا ثُمَّ اغْمِسْ نَعْلَهَا فِي دَمِهَا ثُمَّ خَلِّ بَيْنَ النَّاسِ وَبَيْنَهَا فَيَأْكُلُوهَا " . وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنْ ذُؤَيْبٍ أَبِي قَبِيصَةَ الْخُزَاعِيِّ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ نَاجِيَةَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ . وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ قَالُوا فِي هَدْىِ التَّطَوُّعِ إِذَا عَطِبَ لاَ يَأْكُلُ هُوَ وَلاَ أَحَدٌ مِنْ أَهْلِ رُفْقَتِهِ وَيُخَلَّى بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَ النَّاسِ يَأْكُلُونَهُ وَقَدْ أَجْزَأَ عَنْهُ . وَهُوَ قَوْلُ الشَّافِعِيِّ وَأَحْمَدَ وَإِسْحَاقَ . وَقَالُوا إِنْ أَكَلَ مِنْهُ شَيْئًا غَرِمَ بِقَدْرِ مَا أَكَلَ مِنْهُ . وَقَالَ بَعْضُ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ إِذَا أَكَلَ مِنْ هَدْىِ التَّطَوُّعِ شَيْئًا فَقَدْ ضَمِنَ الَّذِي أَكَلَ .

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1132
Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri narrated:
"We got some captives on the day of Awtas, and they had husbands among their peopled. They mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah, so the following was revealed: And women who are already married, except those whom your right hands posses.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ الْبَتِّيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَصَبْنَا سَبَايَا يَوْمَ أَوْطَاسٍ وَلَهُنَّ أَزْوَاجٌ فِي قَوْمِهِنَّ فَذَكَرُوا ذَلِكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَنَزَلَتْ : (وَالْمُحْصَنَاتُ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ إِلاَّ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ ) . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ . وَهَكَذَا رَوَاهُ الثَّوْرِيُّ عَنْ عُثْمَانَ الْبَتِّيِّ عَنْ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ . وَأَبُو الْخَلِيلِ اسْمُهُ صَالِحُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ .
وَرَوَى هَمَّامٌ، هَذَا الْحَدِيثَ عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ صَالِحٍ أَبِي الْخَلِيلِ، عَنْ أَبِي عَلْقَمَةَ الْهَاشِمِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم .

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2068
"Abu Hurairah narrated that people among the Companions of the Prophet (S.A.W) would say:
"Truffles are the earth's smallpox." So the Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said: "Truffles are a form of manna, and its liquid is a cure for the eye. Al-'Ajwah is from Paradise, and it contains a cure for poison."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، قال حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ، قال حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ نَاسًا، مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالُوا الْكَمْأَةُ جُدَرِيُّ الأَرْضِ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" الْكَمْأَةُ مِنَ الْمَنِّ وَمَاؤُهَا شِفَاءٌ لِلْعَيْنِ وَالْعَجْوَةُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَهِيَ شِفَاءٌ مِنَ السُّمِّ " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ .

Ibn 'Abbas narrated:
"'Umar bin Al-Khattab informed me, saying: 'I entered upon the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) and saw him reclining upon a mat woven from fibers, and I could see the impressions it left upon his side.'"
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ، يَقُولُ أَخْبَرَنِي عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ، قَالَ دَخَلْتُ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَإِذَا هُوَ مُتَّكِئٌ عَلَى رَمْلِ حَصِيرٍ فَرَأَيْتُ أَثَرَهُ فِي جَنْبِهِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ وَفِي الْحَدِيثِ قِصَّةٌ طَوِيلَةٌ .

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2494
Abu Bakr bin Al-Munkadir narrated from Jabir that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said:
"There are three (characteristics) for which whomever has them,Allah will expose His side,and admit him to Paradise:Being courteous to the guest,kind to parents,and doing good for slaves."
حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ شَبِيبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْغِفَارِيُّ الْمَدَنِيُّ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي، عَنْ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" ثَلاَثٌ مَنْ كُنَّ فِيهِ نَشَرَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ كَنَفَهُ وَأَدْخَلَهُ جَنَّتَهُ رِفْقٌ بِالضَّعِيفِ وَشَفَقَةٌ عَلَى الْوَالِدَيْنِ وَإِحْسَانٌ إِلَى الْمَمْلُوكِ " قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ غَرِيبٌ . وَأَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ الْمُنْكَدِرِ هُوَ أَخُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ .

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1504
Narrated 'Ali:
"The Messenger of Allah (saws) prohibited that an animal with a A'dab (stump) horn or ear should be slaughtered as a sacrifice." Qatadah (one of the narrators) said: "So I mentioned this to Sa'eed bin Al-Musayyab and he said: 'The A'dab is that which equals or more than that.'"
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدَةُ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ جُرَىِّ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ النَّهْدِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ يُضَحَّى بِأَعْضَبِ الْقَرْنِ وَالأُذُنِ . قَالَ قَتَادَةُ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِسَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ فَقَالَ الْعَضْبُ مَا بَلَغَ النِّصْفَ فَمَا فَوْقَ ذَلِكَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 1685
Narrated Anas bin Malik:
"The Prophet (saws) rode a horse belonging to Abu Talhah called Mandub. He said: 'There is nothing to be frightened of, and we found him to be (quick) like the sea.'"
[Abu 'Eisa said:] There is something on this topic from Ibn 'Amr Al-'As.
حَدَّثَنَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلاَنَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ رَكِبَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَرَسًا لأَبِي طَلْحَةَ يُقَالُ لَهُ مَنْدُوبٌ فَقَالَ
" مَا كَانَ مِنْ فَزَعٍ وَإِنْ وَجَدْنَاهُ لَبَحْرًا " . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ . وَهَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .

Abdullah b. 'Amr b. al-'As reported:
I heard Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: Allah ordained the measures (of quality) of the creation fifty thousand years before He created the heavens and the earth, as His Throne was upon water.
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَمْرِو بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ سَرْحٍ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ،
وَهْبٍ أَخْبَرَنِي أَبُو هَانِئٍ الْخَوْلاَنِيُّ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيِّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرِو،
بْنِ الْعَاصِ قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ
" كَتَبَ اللَّهُ مَقَادِيرَ الْخَلاَئِقِ
قَبْلَ أَنْ يَخْلُقَ السَّمَوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ بِخَمْسِينَ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ - قَالَ - وَعَرْشُهُ عَلَى الْمَاءِ " .

The son of Abu Said al-Khudri reported on the authority of his father that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said:
When one of you yawns, he should keep his mouth shut with the help of his hand, for it is the devil that enters therein.
حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو غَسَّانَ الْمِسْمَعِيُّ، مَالِكُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْوَاحِدِ حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، حَدَّثَنَا
سُهَيْلُ بْنُ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنًا، لأَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ يُحَدِّثُ أَبِي عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ
رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" إِذَا تَثَاوَبَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيُمْسِكْ بِيَدِهِ عَلَى فِيهِ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ
يَدْخُلُ " .

When one of you yawns, he should try to restrain it with cue help of his hand since it is the Satan that enters therein.

Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet forbade two kinds of dressing; (one of them) is to sit with one's legs drawn up while wrapped in one garment. (The other) is to lift that garment on one's shoulders. And also forbade two kinds of sale: Al-Limais and An-Nibadh.

Narrated Ibn `Umar:
Allah's Apostle forbade Al-Muzabana, i.e. to sell ungathered dates of one's garden for measured dried dates or fresh ungathered grapes for measured dried grapes; or standing crops for measured quantity of foodstuff. He forbade all such bargains.
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ أَنْ يَبِيعَ ثَمَرَ حَائِطِهِ إِنْ كَانَ نَخْلاً بِتَمْرٍ كَيْلاً، وَإِنْ كَانَ كَرْمًا أَنْ يَبِيعَهُ بِزَبِيبٍ كَيْلاً أَوْ كَانَ زَرْعًا أَنْ يَبِيعَهُ بِكَيْلِ طَعَامٍ، وَنَهَى عَنْ ذَلِكَ كُلِّهِ.

Narrated Al-A`mash:
We argued at Ibrahim's dwelling place about mortgaging in Salam. He said, "Aisha said, 'The Prophet bought some foodstuff from a Jew on credit and the payment was to be made by a definite period, and he mortgaged his iron armor to him."
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَحْبُوبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ، حَدَّثَنَا الأَعْمَشُ، قَالَ تَذَاكَرْنَا عِنْدَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الرَّهْنَ فِي السَّلَفِ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنِي الأَسْوَدُ عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم اشْتَرَى مِنْ يَهُودِيٍّ طَعَامًا إِلَى أَجَلٍ مَعْلُومٍ، وَارْتَهَنَ مِنْهُ دِرْعًا مِنْ حَدِيدٍ.

While the Prophet was in Al-`Aqiq he said, "Someone (meaning Gabriel) came to me from my Lord tonight (in my dream) and said, 'Offer the prayer in this blessed valley and say (I intend to perform) `Umra along with Hajj (together).' "

" اللَّيْلَةَ أَتَانِي آتٍ مِنْ رَبِّي وَهْوَ بِالْعَقِيقِ أَنْ صَلِّ فِي هَذَا الْوَادِي الْمُبَارَكِ وَقُلْ عُمْرَةٌ فِي حَجَّةٍ ".

Narrated `Abdullah bin Zaid:
that in the time (of the battle) of Al-Harra a person came to him and said, "Ibn Hanzala is taking the pledge of allegiance from the people for death." He said, "I will never give a pledge of allegiance for such a thing to anyone after Allah's Apostle."
حَدَّثَنَا مُوسَى بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا وُهَيْبٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ يَحْيَى، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ تَمِيمٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ لَمَّا كَانَ زَمَنَ الْحَرَّةِ أَتَاهُ آتٍ فَقَالَ لَهُ إِنَّ ابْنَ حَنْظَلَةَ يُبَايِعُ النَّاسَ عَلَى الْمَوْتِ. فَقَالَ لاَ أُبَايِعُ عَلَى هَذَا أَحَدًا بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم.

Narrated `Abdullah bin Malik bin Buhaina Al-Asdi:
When the Prophet prostrated, he used to keep his arms so widely apart that we used to see his armpits. (The sub-narrator, Ibn Bukair said, "The whiteness of his armpits.")

Narrated `Ali:
On the day of Al-Khandaq (i.e. Trench), the Prophet said '(Let) Allah fill their (i.e. the infidels') houses and graves with fire just as they have prevented us from offering the Middle Prayer (i.e. `Asr prayer) till the sun had set."

" مَلأَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِمْ بُيُوتَهُمْ وَقُبُورَهُمْ نَارًا كَمَا شَغَلُونَا عَنْ صَلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ ".

Narrated `Ali (through two chains):
On the day of Al-Khandaq (the battle of the Trench). the Prophet said, "They (i.e. pagans prevented us from offering the middle (the Best) Prayer till the sun had set. May Allah fill their graves, their houses (or their bodies) with fire."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَخْبَرَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم. حَدَّثَنِي عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ قَالَ هِشَامٌ حَدَّثَنَا قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ
" حَبَسُونَا عَنْ صَلاَةِ الْوُسْطَى حَتَّى غَابَتِ الشَّمْسُ مَلأَ اللَّهُ قُبُورَهُمْ وَبُيُوتَهُمْ أَوْ أَجْوَافَهُمْ ـ شَكَّ يَحْيَى ـ نَارًا ".

Sunan Abi Dawud 2101
Khansa’ daughter of Khidham al-Ansariyyah reports that when her father married her when she had previously been married and she disapproved of that she went to the Apostle of Allaah(saws) and mentioned it to him. He (the Prophet) revoked her marriage.
حَدَّثَنَا الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ الْقَاسِمِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، وَمُجَمِّعٍ، ابْنَىْ يَزِيدَ الأَنْصَارِيَّيْنِ عَنْ خَنْسَاءَ بِنْتِ خِدَامٍ الأَنْصَارِيَّةِ، أَنَّ أَبَاهَا، زَوَّجَهَا وَهِيَ ثَيِّبٌ فَكَرِهَتْ ذَلِكَ فَجَاءَتْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَذَكَرَتْ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَرَدَّ نِكَاحَهَا .

Sunan Abi Dawud 620
Al-Bara who is not a liar said; when they (the companions) raised their heads from bowing along with the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him), they would stand up, and when they saw him that he went down in prostration, they would prostrate (following the prophet).
حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ يَزِيدَ الْخَطْمِيَّ، يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا الْبَرَاءُ، - وَهُوَ غَيْرُ كَذُوبٍ - أَنَّهُمْ كَانُوا إِذَا رَفَعُوا رُءُوسَهُمْ مِنَ الرُّكُوعِ مَعَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَامُوا قِيَامًا فَإِذَا رَأَوْهُ قَدْ سَجَدَ سَجَدُوا .

Sunan Abi Dawud 3327
The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Qais b. Abi Gharazah through a different chain of narrators to the same effect. This version has:
"Lying and swearing have a place on i." 'Abd Allah al-Zuhri said: "Unprofitable speech and lying."
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ عِيسَى الْبُسْطَامِيُّ، وَحَامِدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ، قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ جَامِعِ بْنِ أَبِي رَاشِدٍ، وَعَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَعْيَنَ، وَعَاصِمٍ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ، عَنْ قَيْسِ بْنِ أَبِي غَرَزَةَ، بِمَعْنَاهُ قَالَ " يَحْضُرُهُ الْكَذِبُ وَالْحَلِفُ " . وَقَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ الزُّهْرِيُّ " اللَّغْوُ وَالْكَذِبُ " .

Sunan Abi Dawud 3364
Narrated Abu Hurairah:
The Messenger of Allah (saws) gave license regarding the sale of 'araya when the amount was less then five wasqs or five wasqs. Dawud b. al-Husain was doubtful.
Abu Dawud said: The tradition by Jabir indicates up to four wasqs.

'Abd Rabbihi b. Sa'id al-Ansari said:
'Ariyyah means that a man gives another man a palm-tree on loan, or it means that reserves one or two palm-trees from his property for his personal use, then he sells for dried dates.

Narrated Ibn 'Umar:
The Messenger of Allah (saws) found 'Umar al-Khattab in a caravan while he was swearing by his father. So he said: Allah forbids you to swear by forefathers. If anyone swears, he must swear by Allah or keep silence.

We had a makkuk which was called Makkuk Khalid. Its capacity was two measurements according to the measurements of Harun. The narrator said: The sa' of Khalid was the sa' of Hisham b. 'Abd al-Malik.

Narrated Isma'il bin Ibrahim:
On the authority of a man from Banu Sulaim: I asked the Prophet (saws) to marry Umamah daughter of 'Abd al-Muttalib to me. So he married her to me without reciting the tashahhud (i.e. the sermon for marriage).

Zaid bin Khalid al Juhani reported that Apostle of Allaah(saws) as saying “He who equips a fighter in Allaah’s path has taken part in the fighting. And he looks after a fighter’s family when he is away has taken part in the fighting.”

Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2369
Abu Hurairah narrated :
"The Prophet (s.a.w) went out during an hour in which he would normally not go out, nor meet with anyone. Then Abu Bakr came to him. So he said:"What brought you O Abu Bakr?" He said: "I came to meet the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) and to look at his face, and to make sure he was safe. It was not long before 'Umar came. He said: "What has brought you O 'Umar ?" He said: "Hunger O Messenger of Allah!"He said: "I also experienced some of that" So they went to the home of Abu Al-Haitham At-Taiyyihan Al-Ansari. He was a man with many date-palms and sheep, but he had no servants so they did not find him there. They said to his wife: "Where is your companion?" She said: "He has gone to fetch us some good water." It was not long before Abu Al-Haitham came along hauling to a large water-skin which he put down. Then he came to hug the Prophet (s.a.w) and uttered that his father and mother should be ransomed for him. Then he went to grove of his and he spread out a mat for them. Then he went to a date-palm and returned with a cluster of dates which he put down. The prophet (s.a.w) said: "Why don't you select some ripe dates for us?" He said: "O Messenger of Allah(s.a.w)! I wanted you to select from the ripe dates and the unripe dates." So they ate and they drank from that water. The Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) said: "By the One in Whose Hand is my soul! This is among the favors which you shall be asked about on the Day of Judgement. Cool shade, tasty ripe dates, and cool water." Abu Al-Haitham left to prepare some food for them. The Prophet (s.a.w) said: "Do not slaughter one with milk." So he Slaughtered a small female or male goat and brought it to them so they could eat it. The Prophet (s.a.w) said: "Do you have any servants?" He said: "No." So he said: "Then if we get some captives we shall bring them for you." So (later) the Prophet (s.a.w) came with 2 males, there was no third among them and he brought them to Abu Al-Haitham. The Prophet (s.a.w) said: "Choose from them." He said: "O Prophet of Allah! Choose for me." So the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "Indeed the one consulted is entrusted. Take this one for I have seen him praying, and encourage him to do well." So Abu Al-Haitham went to his wife and informed her of what the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said. So his wife said: "You will not fulfill what the Prophet (s.a.w) said until you have freed him." So he said: "He is free." So the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "Indeed Allah has not send a Prophet nor made a Khalifah except that he has two groups of supporters, group ordering him to do good, and prohibiting him from evil and a group that never ceases spoiling his affairs. So whoever protected."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، حَدَّثَنَا آدَمُ بْنُ أَبِي إِيَاسٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شَيْبَانُ أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عُمَيْرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي سَاعَةٍ لاَ يَخْرُجُ فِيهَا وَلاَ يَلْقَاهُ فِيهَا أَحَدٌ فَأَتَاهُ أَبُو بَكْرٍ فَقَالَ " مَا جَاءَ بِكَ يَا أَبَا بَكْرٍ " . فَقَالَ خَرَجْتُ أَلْقَى رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَأَنْظُرُ فِي وَجْهِهِ وَالتَّسْلِيمَ عَلَيْهِ . فَلَمْ يَلْبَثْ أَنْ جَاءَ عُمَرُ فَقَالَ " مَا جَاءَ بِكَ يَا عُمَرُ " . قَالَ الْجُوعُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قَالَ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " وَأَنَا قَدْ وَجَدْتُ بَعْضَ ذَلِكَ " . فَانْطَلَقُوا إِلَى مَنْزِلِ أَبِي الْهَيْثَمِ بْنِ التَّيِّهَانِ الأَنْصَارِيِّ وَكَانَ رَجُلاً كَثِيرَ النَّخْلِ وَالشَّاءِ وَلَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ خَدَمٌ فَلَمْ يَجِدُوهُ فَقَالُوا لاِمْرَأَتِهِ أَيْنَ صَاحِبُكِ فَقَالَتِ انْطَلَقَ يَسْتَعْذِبُ لَنَا الْمَاءَ . فَلَمْ يَلْبَثُوا أَنْ جَاءَ أَبُو الْهَيْثَمِ بِقِرْبَةٍ يَزْعَبُهَا فَوَضَعَهَا ثُمَّ جَاءَ يَلْتَزِمُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَيُفَدِّيهِ بِأَبِيهِ وَأُمِّهِ ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ بِهِمْ إِلَى حَدِيقَتِهِ فَبَسَطَ لَهُمْ بِسَاطًا ثُمَّ انْطَلَقَ إِلَى نَخْلَةٍ فَجَاءَ بِقِنْوٍ فَوَضَعَهُ فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَفَلاَ ...

Bilal ibn Yahya al-Absi said: Ali found a dinar and purchased some flour with it. The seller of the flour recognised him and returned the dinar to him. Ali took it, deducted two qirat (carat) from it, and purchased meat with it.
حَدَّثَنَا الْهَيْثَمُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ الْجُهَنِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ، عَنْ بِلاَلِ بْنِ يَحْيَى الْعَبْسِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رضى الله عنه أَنَّهُ الْتَقَطَ دِينَارًا فَاشْتَرَى بِهِ دَقِيقًا فَعَرَفَهُ صَاحِبُ الدَّقِيقِ فَرَدَّ عَلَيْهِ الدِّينَارَ فَأَخَذَهُ عَلِيٌّ وَقَطَعَ مِنْهُ قِيرَاطَيْنِ فَاشْتَرَى بِهِ لَحْمًا .

" إِنَّ لأَهْلِكَ عَلَيْكَ حَقًّا صُمْ رَمَضَانَ وَالَّذِي يَلِيهِ وَكُلَّ أَرْبِعَاءَ وَخَمِيسٍ فَإِذَا أَنْتَ قَدْ صُمْتَ الدَّهْرَ " . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَافَقَهُ زَيْدٌ الْعُكْلِيُّ وَخَالَفَهُ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَ مُسْلِمُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ .

The Messenger of Allah (saws) distributed sacrificial animals among his Companions. He gave me a kid (of less than a year). I took it to him and said: This is a kid. He said: Sacrifice it. so I sacrificed it.

Abu Ishaq said:
Al-Harith left his will that Abdullah ibn Yazid should offer his funeral prayer; so he prayed over him. He then put him in the grave from the side of his legs and said: This is a Sunnah (model practice of the Prophet).

Narrated Uqbah ibn Amir al-Juhani:
Uqbah said to the Prophet (saws): My sister has taken a vow that she will walk to the House of Allah (the Ka'bah). Thereupon he said: Allah will not do anything of the walking of your sister to the House of Allah (i.e. the Ka'bah).

Narrated Ash-Sharid:
The Prophet (saws) said: Delay in payment on the part of one who possesses means makes it lawful to dishonour and punish him. Ibn al-Mubarak said that "dishonour" means that he may be spoken to roughly and "punish" means he may be imprisoned for it.

The Prophet (saws) said: Then you, Khuza'ah, have killed this man of Hudhayl, but I will pay his blood-wit. After these words of mine if a man of anyone is killed, his people will have a choice to accept blood-wit or to kill him.

I asked Jabir bin `Abdallah about riding on the sacrificial camels. He said I heard The Messenger of Allah (SWAS) saying ride on them gently when you have nothing else till you find a mount.

A man from Muzainah who followed the knowledge and memorized it to me that sa’id b.al-Musayyab transmitted it. He then mentioned the rest of the tradition to the same effect.

‘Ali reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The niggardly one is the man in whose presence I am mentioned but who does not invoke a blessing on me.”
Tirmidhi transmitted it, and Ahmad transmitted it from al-Husain b. ‘Ali. Tirmidhi said this is a hasan sahih gharib tradition.
وَعَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «الْبَخِيلُ الَّذِي ذُكِرْتُ عِنْدَهُ فَلَمْ يُصَلِّ عَلَيَّ» . رَوَاهُ التِّرْمِذِيُّ وَرَوَاهُ أَحْمَدُ عَنِ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا. وَقَالَ التِّرْمِذِيُّ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ غَرِيبٌ

Umm 'Atiya al-Ansariya told that the Prophet said to a woman who used to perform circumcision (on girls) in Medina, “Do not cut severely, as that is better for a woman and more desirable to a husband.”
Abu Dawud transmitted it, saying this is a weak tradition one of whose transmitters is an unknown man.
وَعَن أُمِّ عطيَّةَ الأنصاريَّةِ: أنَّ امْرَأَة كَانَت تختن بِالْمَدِينَةِ. فَقَالَ لَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «لَا تُنْهِكِي فَإِنَّ ذَلِكَ أَحْظَى لِلْمَرْأَةِ وَأَحَبُّ إِلَى الْبَعْلِ» . رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُدَ وَقَالَ: هَذَا الْحَدِيثُ ضَعِيفٌ وَرَاوِيه مَجْهُول

‘A'isha told that God’s messenger wanted to buy a young slave, so he threw some dates in front of him, but when the youth ate greedily he said, “Voracious eating is ominous,” and ordered him to be sent back.
Baihaqi transmitted it in Shu‘ab al-iman.

Abu Huraira reported God's messenger as saying, "It is a part of the sunna that a man should accompany his guest to the door of the house."
Ibn Majah transmitted it, and Baihaqi, in Shu‘ab al-iman, transmitted it on the authority both of Abu Huraira and of Ibn 'Abbas, but said there is a weakness in its isnad.

'Abdallah b. Mas'ud reported God’s messenger as saying:
“Make use of the two remedies: honey and the Qur’an.”
Ibn Majah and Baihaqi, in Shu'ab al-lman, transmitted the two traditions, Baihaqi saying the correct view is that the second goes no farther back than Ibn Mas'ud.

Al-Qasim the client of ‘Abd ar-Rahman quoted one of the Prophet’s companions as saying:
We would eat a camel on an expedition without dividing it, and when we returned to our dwellings our saddle-bags would be full with its flesh.
Abu Dawud transmitted it.
وَعَنِ الْقَاسِمِ مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ عَنْ بَعْضِ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ: كنَّا نأكلُ الجَزورَ فِي الغزْوِ وَلَا نُقَسِّمُهُ حَتَّى إِذَا كُنَّا لَنَرْجِعُ إِلَى رِحَالِنَا وأخْرِجَتُنا مِنْهُ مَمْلُوءَة. رَوَاهُ أَبُو دَاوُد

Baihaqi in Shu'ab al-iman and Razin in his book made an addition, saying “An act of punishment out of anger for the infidel and a mercy for the believer.”

Mishkat al-Masabih 1768
Muhammad b. an-Nu‘man who traced the tradition back to the Prophet reported him as saying, “If anyone visits the grave of his parents, or of one of them, every Friday he will be granted forgiveness and it will be recorded as filial piety.”
Baihaqi transmitted it in mursal form in Shu'ab al-iman.

Mishkat al-Masabih 2855
Ibn ‘Umar said that God's Messenger forbade the transaction called habal al-habala which was one entered into in pre-Islamic times, whereby a man bought a she-camel which was to be the offspring of a she-camel which was still in its mother’s womb.

'Amr b. al-'As reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:
He Is successful who has accepted Islam, who has been provided with sufficient for his want and been made contented by Allah with what He has given him.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said:
A group would secede itself (from the Ummah) when there would be dissension among the Muslims. Out of the two groups who would be nearer the truth would kill them.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported from the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) that a group (Khawarij) would emerge from the different parties (the party of Hadrat 'Ali and the party of Amir Mu'awiya), the group nearer the truth between the two would kill them.

" مَنْ صَامَ يَوْمًا فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ بَاعَدَ اللَّهُ وَجْهَهُ عَنِ النَّارِ سَبْعِينَ خَرِيفًا " .

It was narrated from 'Eisa bin Yazdad Al-Yamani that his father said:
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'When anyone of you urinates, let him squeeze his penis three times (to remove the remaining urine drops)." (Da'if)

It was narrated that Ibn 'Abbas said:
"When the Prophet (SAW) came to Al-Madinah, they were the worst people in weights and measures. Then Allah, Glorious is He revealed: "Woe to the Mutaffifun (those who give less in measure and weight)",[1] and they were fair in weights and measures after that.

Sunan Ibn Majah 3138
It was
narrated from ‘Uqbah bin ‘Amir Al-Juhani that the Messenger of
Allah (saw) gave him some sheep, and he distributed them among his
Companions to be sacrificed. There remained an ‘Atud.* He mentioned
that to the Messenger of Allah (saw) and he said:
“You sacrifice it
yourself.”

ja’alana Muslimin (Praise is to Allah Who has fed us, given us to
drink, and made us Muslims).”

Sunan Ibn Majah 3453
It was
narrated from Abu Sa`eed and Jabir that the Messenger of Allah
(saw) said:
“Truffles are a type of manna, and their water is a
healing for eye (diseases). And the `Ajwah* are from Paradise, and
they are healing for possession.”**
Another chain from Abu Sa`eed from the Prophet (saw) with similar wording.
