Abu Huraira reported the Prophet as saying, “Faith is an assurance of safety from being killed unawares. A believer does not kill another unawares.” Abu Dawud transmitted it.

He said that God’s messenger used to say, "O God, I seek refuge in Thee from divisiveness, hypocrisy and evil character." Abu Dawud transmitted it.

the speech of Messenger of Allah (PBUH) was so clear that all those who listened to it would understand it.

The Prophet (PBUH) used to perform two Rak'ah before the 'Asr prayer.

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said: "The supplication made between the Adhan and the Iqamah is never rejected."

[Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "No one should ask in the Face of Allah for anything except Jannah."

Abu Dawud reported the Apostle of Allaah(saws) as saying “Anyone who sets his slave girl free and then marries her, will have a double reward.”

On his father's authority, said that his grandfather told that a A man came to the Prophet (saws) crying for help. He said: His slave-girl, Messenger of Allah! He said: Woe to you, what happened with you ? He said that it was an evil one. He saw the slave-girl of his master; he became jealous of him, and cut off his penis. The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: Bring the man to me. The man was called, but people could not get control over him. The Messenger of Allah (saws) then said: Go away, you are free. He asked: Messenger of Allah! upon whom does my help lie? He replied: On every believer, or he said: On every Muslim.

Abu Dawud said: The name of the man who was emancipated was Rawh b. Dinar

Abu Dawud said: The man who cut off the penis was Zinba'

Abu Dawud said: The Zinba' Abu Rawh was master of the slave.

I bought something from the Prophet (saws) before he received his Prophetic commission, and as there was something still due to him I promised him that I would bring it to him at his place, but I forgot. When I remembered three days later, I went to that place and found him there. He said: You have vexed me, young man. I have been here for three days waiting for you.

Abu Dawud said: Muhammad b. Yahya said : This is, in our opinion, 'Abd al-Karim b. 'Abd Allah b. Shaqiq (instead of "from 'Abd al-Karim from 'Abd Allah b. Shaqiq").

Abu Dawud said: In a similar way I have been informed by 'Ali b. 'Abd Allah.

Abu Dawud said: I have been told that Bishr b. al-Sarri transmitted it from 'Abd Allah b. Shaqiq.

‘Uqba b. ‘Amir reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Sahib maks, meaning one who tithes people, will not enter paradise.” Ahmad, Abu Dawud and Darimi transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Umar said that the Prophet matted his hair with ghisl (A lotion made of marsh-mallows, or lotus leaves, or fuller’s earth, or potash with water). Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Ya'la b. Umayya reported God’s messenger as saying, “Storing up food to sell it at a high price in the sacred territory is a profanation of its sanctity.” Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Abbas reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Let the best among you call the adhan for you, and the Qur’an readers act as your imams.” Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Mu`adh b. Anas said that the Prophet forbade sitting on Friday with a cloth tied round the back and legs while the imam is preaching. Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

‘Abd ar-Rahman b. ‘Auf told that God’s messenger put a turban on him and let the ends hang in front of him and behind him. Abu Dawud transmitted it.

‘Abdallah b. Ja'far said the Prophet used to wear a signet-ring on his right hand. Ibn Majah transmitted it, and Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it on ‘Ali’s authority.

God’s messenger came to us once in Mecca and he had four plaits of hair. Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Anas said he had a hanging lock of hair and his mother told him not to cut it, for God’s messenger used to stretch it out and hold it. Abu Dawud transmitted it.

‘A’isha said the Prophet forbade men and women from entering baths, but afterwards permitted men to enter them wearing lower garments. Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Abu Musa al-Ash‘ari reported God’s messenger as saying, "He who plays backgammon has disobeyed God and His messenger." Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Ibn Mas'ud reported God’s messenger as saying, "Kill all the snakes except the little white one which looks like a silver wand." Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Umar told that when the Prophet was brought a piece of cheese in Tabuk he called for a knife, and after mentioning God’s name, he cut it. Abu Dawud transmitted it.

"There is no hama, no infection and no evil omen; but if anything is affected by an evil omen it is a house, a horse, and a woman." Abu Dawud transmitted it.

He reported God's Messenger as saying, “The fighter gets his reward, and the one who equips him gets his own reward and that of the fighter.” Abu Dawud transmitted it.

He said: “Guard against the three things which cause curse (i.e.) defecating at the watering places, on the roadbeds and in the shades.” [Reported by Abu Dawud]

Abu Hurairah (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “If you offer the funeral prayer for a deceased person, supplicate Allah sincerely for him." Related by Abu Dawud.

Ibn ’Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) specified al-Aqiq (a part of `Dhat Irq) for those coming from the east.’ Related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud and An-Nasa’i.

Abu Hurairah (RAA) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (P.B.U.H.) said, “Avoid envy, for envy devours good deeds just as fire devours firewood.” Related by Abu Dawud.

Makhul (RAA) narrated, ‘The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) set up the ballista while attacking the people of at-Ta’if`.’ Related by Abu Dawud with a trustworthy chain of narrators, but it is hadith Mursal.

Ibn 'Abbas (RAA), The Messenger (PBUH) prohibited killing four creatures; ants, bees, hoopoes and shirkes.' Related by Ahmad and Abu Dawud. Ibn Hibban graded it as Sahih.

Abu Dawud narrated a similar hadith that reads, "The slaughtering (of an animal) by any Muslim is Halal (lawful) whether or not he mentioned Allah's name over it." Its narrators are reliable.

He heard Allah's Messenger (SAW) say. "The testimony of a bedouin against a city dweller is not permissible." [Reported by Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah].

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "The only suckling (to be considered) is that which gives life to the bones and causes flesh to grow." [Abu Dawud reported it].

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "I was not commanded to build beautified mosques". [Reported by Abu Dawud and Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (authentic)]

We attended the Friday prayer with the Prophet (SAW) and he (SAW) stood leaning on a staff or a bow. [Reported by Abu Dawud].

Subbūḥun, Quddūsun, Rabbul-malā'ikati warrūḥ. Glory (to You) , Most Holy (are You) , Lord of the angels and the Spirit. Reference: Muslim 1/353, Abu Dawud 1/230.

He also reported God’s messenger as saying, “The Qadariya are the Magians of this people. If they are ill, do not visit them, and if they die, do not attend their funerals." Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Ibn Mas'ud reported God’s messenger as saying, “The one who buries her daughter alive and the one who is buried alive go to hell.” Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Anas said that when the Prophet wanted to relieve himself he did not raise his garment till he was near the ground. Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Darimi transmitted it.

Ubayy b. Ka'b said that “Water is necessary only when there is an emission” was a licence granted in the early days of Islam, but that afterwards it was renounced. Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Darimi transmitted it.

Qais b. ‘Asim said that when he accepted Islam the Prophet commanded him to bathe with water and lote-tree leaves. Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it.

Umm Salama said she never saw the Prophet fasting two consecutive months, except Sha'ban and Ramadan. Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasa’i and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

He reported the Prophet as saying, “Place trust in him who trusts you, but do not cheat him who cheats you.” Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Darimi transmitted it.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri told that when God’s Messenger swore strongly he said, “No, by Him in whose hand is the soul of Abu Qasim.” Abu Dawud transmitted it.

‘Ali told that a Jewess who was reviling the Prophet and speaking evil of him was strangled to death by a man and the Prophet allowed no payment to be made for her death. Abu Dawud transmitted it.

‘Abdallah b. ‘Amr reported God’s messenger as saying, “The supplication which gets the quickest answer is that made by one distant friend for another.” Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

I saw the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) wearing two green garments.

[Abu Dawud and At- Tirmidhi].

I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) saying, "If you find faults with Muslims, you will corrupt them."

[Abu Dawud].

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The return from an expedition is an act as meritorious as fighting."

[Abu Dawud].

The sleeves of the Messenger of Allah (PBUH)'s Qamees reached down to his wrists.

[Abu Dawud and At-Tirmidhi].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Do not ride on saddles made from silk or leopard's skin."

[Abu Dawud].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) prohibited riding a camel which eats dung, or animal or human waste.

[Abu Dawud].

The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "He who swears by Amanah (trust) is not one of us."

" He made a confession of having committed adultery, thrice."

Ibn 'Umar reported the Messenger of Allah (saws) as saying: The Muslims will soon be besieged up to Medina, so that their most distant frontier outpost will be Salah.

The former is more perfect.

The price of a male or a female slave is five hundred dirhams.

Abu Dawud said: Rabi'ah said: The price of a male or a female slave is fifty dinars.

Cutting of the hand is not be inflicted on one who snatches something.

Abu Dawud said : Ibn Juraij did not hear these two traditions from Abu al-Zubair, I have been informed by Ahmad. B. Hanbal saving : Ibn Juraij heard them from Yasin al-Zayyat.

Aby Dawud said: Al-Mughirah b. Muslim has transmitted it from Abu al-Zubair from Jabir From the prophet(saws).

`Abdallah b. Mas'ud reported God's messenger as saying, "The world will not pass away before the Arabs are ruled by a man of my family whose name will be the same as mine.' Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it. In a version by the latter he said, "If only one day of this world remained God would lengthen that day till He raised up in it a man who belongs to me (or, to my family) whose name is the same as mine and whose fathers name is the same as my father's, who will fill the earth with equity and justice as it has been filled with oppression and tyranny." Aba Dawud transmitted it.

"We went to Abu Hurairah (RA) regarding a friend of ours who was bankrupt. He said, "I shall certainly pronounce judgment about him in accordance with the judgement of Allah's Messenger (SAW). Whoever becomes bankrupt or dies, and a person finds his actual goods (remaining with that man), he has most right to them.'" [al-Hakim graded it Sahih (authentic); Abu Dawud graded it Da'if (weak). He also considered this addition of the mention of 'death' to be weak].

My maternal uncle Abu Burda b. Niyar passed me carrying a standard, and I asked him where he was going. He replied, “The Prophet has sent me to bring him the head of a man who has married his father’s wife.” A version by Abu Dawud, Nasa’i, Ibn Majah and Darimi has, “He has ordered me to cut off his head and take his property.” This version has “my paternal uncle” instead of “my maternal uncle.” Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Rukana b. 'Abd Yazid said he divorced his wife Suhaima absolutely and when the Prophet was informed of that he said, “I swear by God that I meant it to be only a single utterance of divorce.” God’s Messenger asked him if that was so, and when he assured him that it was, he restored her to him. Then he divorced her the second time in the time of ‘Umar and the third time in the time of ‘Uthman. Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Ibn Majah and Darimi transmitted it, but only Abu Dawud mentioned the second and third time (See Abu Dawud’s Sunan, Talaq, 14).

Abu Talhah said “When the Apostle of Allaah(saws) prevailed on any people, he stayed three nights in the field. Ibn Al Muthanna said “When he prevailed over people, he liked to stay three nights in the field.”

Abu Dawud said “Yahya bin Sa’id used to object to this tradition for this is not from his early traditions because his memory was spoiled at the age of forty five. He narrated this tradition in the last days of his age.”

Abu Dawud said “ It is said that Waki ‘ recived this tradition from him when his memory was spoiled.”

The Prophet (saws) said: No recompense is to be demanded if one is kicked by an animal.

Abu Dawud said: An animal kicks someone with its leg while one is riding on it.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported the Prophet as saying, “One who is in the sacred state may kill a dangerous wild beast.” Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Anas reported God’s Messenger as saying, “One of the signs of the last hour will be that people will vie with one another about mosques. Abu Dawud, Nasa’i Darimi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

‘A’isha reported God’s Messenger as saying, “People will continue to withdraw to rows behind the first one till God puts them in a back place in hell." Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Umar reported God’s Messenger as saying, “God show mercy to a man who prays four rak'as before the afternoon prayer!” Ahmad, Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Abu Said said God’s Messenger used to sacrifice a choice, horned ram with black round the eyes, the mouth and the feet. Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Nasa’i and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Ibn Abbas said it is part of the sunna that when a man sits down he should take off his sandals and place them at his side. Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Umar said the Prophet prohibited wine, maisir, the kuba,/i>, and ghubaira’ which is an intoxicating drink made by Abyssinians from millet. It is called sukruka. Abu Dawud transmitted it.
