Musnad Ahmad 1424
Sufyan bin Wahb al Khawlani said:
When we conquered Egypt without a peace deal (i.e., by force), az-Zubair bin al-`Awwam (رضي الله عنه) stood up and said: “O `Amr bin al `As, divide the land.” `Amr said: “I shall not divide it.” az-Zubair (رضي الله عنه) said: “By Allah, you will divide it as the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) divided Khaibar!” ‘Amr said: “By Allah, I shall not divide it until I write to Ameer al-Mu`mineen.” So he wrote to `Umar (رضي الله عنه) and `Umar wrote back to him (saying}, Leave it so that the third generation (i.e., the offspring of the foetuses currently in their mother`s wombs) may use the income from it to go out on campaign for the sake of Allah.
حَدَّثَنَا عَتَّابٌ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُقْبَةَ، وَهُوَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ بْنِ عُقْبَةَ حَدَّثَنِي يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَمَّنْ سَمِعَ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ الْمُغِيرَةِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ سُفْيَانَ بْنَ وَهْبٍ الْخَوْلَانِيَّ، يَقُولُ لَمَّا افْتَتَحْنَا مِصْرَ بِغَيْرِ عَهْدٍ قَامَ الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ الْعَوَّامِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ يَا عَمْرُو بْنَ الْعَاصِ اقْسِمْهَا فَقَالَ عَمْرٌو لَا أَقْسِمُهَا فَقَالَ الزُّبَيْرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَاللَّهِ لَتَقْسِمَنَّهَا كَمَا قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْبَرَ قَالَ عَمْرٌو وَاللَّهِ لَا أَقْسِمُهَا حَتَّى أَكْتُبَ إِلَى أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ فَكَتَبَ إِلَى عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَكَتَبَ إِلَيْهِ عُمَرُ أَنْ أَقِرَّهَا حَتَّى يَغْزُوَ مِنْهَا حَبَلُ الْحَبَلَةِ.

Musnad Ahmad 412, 413
It was narrated from `Uthman bin `Affan (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
`The best of you is the one who teaches Qur`an or learns it.” Muhammad bin Ja`far and Hajjaj said: Abu `AbdurRahman said: That is what made me sit in this place (i.e., become a teacher). Hajjaj said: Shu`bah said: Abu `Abdur-Rahman did not hear (it) from `Uthman (رضي الله عنه) or from ‘Abdullah, but he heard it from ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه). My father said and Bahz said: (It was narrated from) Shu`bah who said: `AIqamah bin Marthad told me. “The best of you is the one who learns Qur`an and teaches it.`
`Affan told us: Shu`bah told us: `Alqamah bin Marthad told me... and he said in it: “Whoever learns the Qur`an or teaches it.”
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَبَهْزٌ، وَحَجَّاجٌ، قَالُوا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلْقَمَةَ بْنَ مَرْثَدٍ، يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَفَّانَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ إِنَّ خَيْرَكُمْ مَنْ عَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ أَوْ تَعَلَّمَهُ قَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ وَحَجَّاجٌ فَقَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ فَذَاكَ الَّذِي أَقْعَدَنِي هَذَا الْمَقْعَدَ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ شُعْبَةُ وَلَمْ يَسْمَعْ أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ مِنْ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَلَا مِنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ وَلَكِنْ قَدْ سَمِعَ مِنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أَبِي وَقَالَ بَهْزٌ عَنْ شُعْبَةَ قَالَ عَلْقَمَةُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ أَخْبَرَنِي وَقَالَ خَيْرُكُمْ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ وَعَلَّمَهُ.
حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ أَخْبَرَنِي عَلْقَمَةُ بْنُ مَرْثَدٍ وَقَالَ فِيهِ مَنْ تَعَلَّمَ الْقُرْآنَ أَوْ عَلَّمَهُ.

Musnad Ahmad 517
It was narrated that Abu Hurairah (رضي الله عنه) said:
`Uthman (رضي الله عنه) went to Makkah for Hajj. The wife of Muhammad bin Ja`far bin Abi Talib entered upon him (i.e., her husband) and he spent the night with her. Then the next morning, he (i.e., Muhammad bin Ja`far) came out smelling of perfume and wearing a wrapper saturated with safflower dye. He caught up with the people in weariness before they set out. When `Uthman saw him, he rebuked him and expressed disapproval, saying: Are you wearing something dyed with safflower when the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade that? `Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) said to him: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not forbid it to him or you; he only forbade it to me.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي ابْنَ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَوْهَبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَمِّي، عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَوْهَبٍ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ رَاحَ عُثْمَانُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِلَى مَكَّةَ حَاجًّا وَدَخَلَتْ عَلَى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ امْرَأَتُهُ فَبَاتَ مَعَهَا حَتَّى أَصْبَحَ ثُمَّ غَدَا عَلَيْهِ رَدْعُ الطِّيبِ وَمِلْحَفَةٌ مُعَصْفَرَةٌ مُفْدَمَةٌ فَأَدْرَكَ النَّاسَ بِمَلَلٍ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَرُوحُوا فَلَمَّا رَآهُ عُثْمَانُ انْتَهَرَ وَأَفَّفَ وَقَالَ أَتَلْبَسُ الْمُعَصْفَرَ وَقَدْ نَهَى عَنْهُ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَمْ يَنْهَهُ وَلَا إِيَّاكَ إِنَّمَا نَهَانِي.

Yahya related to me from Malik, from 'Abdullah ibn Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad, that Amra bint 'Abd ar-Rahman told him that Ziyad ibn Abi Sufyan once wrote to A'isha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying, "'Abdullah ibn Abbas said that whatever was haram for some one doing hajj was also haram for some one who sent a sacrificial animal until the animal was sacrificed. I have sent one, so write and tell me what you say about this, or tell the man in charge of the animal what to do.
Amra said that A'isha said, "It is notas Ibn Abbas has said. I once plaited the garlands for the sacrificial animal of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, with my own two hands. Then after that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, himself put the garlands on the animal and then sent it with my father. And there was nothing that Allah had made halal forthe Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that was haram for him until such time as the animal had been sacrificed."
حَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ بِنْتِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، أَنَّهَا أَخْبَرَتْهُ أَنَّ زِيَادَ بْنَ أَبِي سُفْيَانَ كَتَبَ إِلَى عَائِشَةَ زَوْجِ النِّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَبَّاسٍ قَالَ مَنْ أَهْدَى هَدْيًا حَرُمَ عَلَيْهِ مَا يَحْرُمُ عَلَى الْحَاجِّ حَتَّى يُنْحَرَ الْهَدْىُ وَقَدْ بَعَثْتُ بِهَدْىٍ فَاكْتُبِي إِلَىَّ بِأَمْرِكِ أَوْ مُرِي صَاحِبَ الْهَدْىِ . قَالَتْ عَمْرَةُ قَالَتْ عَائِشَةُ لَيْسَ كَمَا قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَا فَتَلْتُ قَلاَئِدَ هَدْىِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِيَدَىَّ ثُمَّ قَلَّدَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِيَدِهِ ثُمَّ بَعَثَ بِهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَعَ أَبِي فَلَمْ يَحْرُمْ عَلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم شَىْءٌ أَحَلَّهُ اللَّهُ لَهُ حَتَّى نُحِرَ الْهَدْىُ .

Sahih al-Bukhari 1700
Narrated `Abdullah bin Abu Bakr bin `Amr bin Hazm:
That `Amra bint `Abdur-Rahman had told him, "Zaid bin Abu Sufyan wrote to `Aisha that `Abdullah bin `Abbas had stated, 'Whoever sends his Hadi (to the Ka`ba), all the things which are illegal for a (pilgrim) become illegal for that person till he slaughters it (i.e. till the 10th of Dhul-Hijja).' " `Amra added, `Aisha said, 'It is not like what Ibn `Abbas had said: I twisted the garlands of the Hadis of Allah's Apostle with my own hands. Then Allah's Apostle put them round their necks with his own hands, sending them with my father; Yet nothing permitted by Allah was considered illegal for Allah's Apostle till he slaughtered the Hadis.' "

It was narrated from `Ali (رضي الله عنه) that The Prophet (ﷺ) said:
“Jibreel (عليه السلام) came to me but did not enter upon me.` The Prophet (ﷺ) said to him: `What prevented you from entering?” He said: We do not enter a house in which there is an image or urine.
It was narrated from ‘Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) that the Prophet (ﷺ) said: `Jibreel (عليه السلام) came to me and greeted me.` And he narrated a similar hadeeth.

و حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ قَالَ و حَدَّثَنَاه شَيْبَانُ مَرَّةً أُخْرَى حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ ذَكْوَانَ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ عَنْ حَبَّةَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبَّةَ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ أَتَانِي جِبْرِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلَام يُسَلِّمُ عَلَيَّ فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ مِثْلَهُ نَحْوَهُ قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ وَكَانَ أَبِي لَا يُحَدِّثُ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ خَالِدٍ يَعْنِي كَانَ حَدِيثُهُ لَا يَسْوَى عِنْدَهُ شَيْئًا.

Al-`Awwam narrated:
an old man who was guarding the coast told me: I met Abu Salih, the freed slave of `Umar bin al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) and he said, `Umar bin al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) told us that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “There is no night in which the sea does not approach the land three times and ask Allah for permission to flood it, but Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, restrains it.`
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَنْبَأَنَا الْعَوَّامُ، حَدَّثَنِي شَيْخٌ، كَانَ مُرَابِطًا بِالسَّاحِلِ قَالَ لَقِيتُ أَبَا صَالِحٍ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ لَيْسَ مِنْ لَيْلَةٍ إِلَّا وَالْبَحْرُ يُشْرِفُ فِيهَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ عَلَى الْأَرْضِ يَسْتَأْذِنُ اللَّهَ فِي أَنْ يَنْفَضِخَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَيَكُفُّهُ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ.

Musnad Ahmad 510
It was narrated that Abu ‘Ubaid, the freed slave of `AbdurRahman bin Azhar, said:
l saw `Ali (رضي الله عنه) and `Uthman (رضي الله عنه) on the day of Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha; they prayed, then when they finished they reminded the people. I heard them saying: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade fasting on these two days. He said: And I heard ‘Ali say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade anything of the sacrificial meat to be left after three days.
حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ خَالِدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ قَارِظٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، مَوْلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَزْهَرَ قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا وَعُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يُصَلِّيَانِ يَوْمَ الْفِطْرِ وَالْأَضْحَى ثُمَّ يَنْصَرِفَانِ يُذَكِّرَانِ النَّاسَ قَالَ وَسَمِعْتُهُمَا يَقُولَانِ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ صِيَامِ هَذَيْنِ الْيَوْمَيْنِ.
قَالَ وَسَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا، يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَبْقَى مِنْ نُسُكِكُمْ عِنْدَكُمْ شَيْءٌ بَعْدَ ثَلَاثٍ.

It was narrated from al-Hasan and ‘Abdullah, the sons of Muhammad bin `Ali, from their father Muhammad bin `Ali that he heard his father, ‘Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه), say to Ibn `Abbas, when he heard that he had permitted mut`ah marriage with women - `Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) said to him:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade it on the day of Khaibar and [he also forbade] the flesh of donkeys.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَنْبَأَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، وَعَبْدِ اللَّهِ، ابْنَيْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ عَنْ أَبِيهِمَا، مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ أَبَاهُ، عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لِابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ وَبَلَغَهُ أَنَّهُ رَخَّصَ فِي مُتْعَةِ النِّسَاءِ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَدْ نَهَى عَنْهَا يَوْمَ خَيْبَرَ وَعَنْ لُحُومِ الْحُمُرِ الْأَهْلِيَّةِ.

Musnad Ahmad 1229
It was narrated that ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said:
The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) came to us one night and put his foot between me and Fatimah, and he taught us what to say when we went to bed. Thirty-three tasbeehah, thirty-three tahmeedah and thirty-four takbeerah. `Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: I never omitted it after that. A man said to him: Not even on the night of Siffeen? said: Not even on the night of Siffeen.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَنْبَأَنَا الْعَوَّامُ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، قَالَ أَتَانَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ذَاتَ لَيْلَةٍ حَتَّى وَضَعَ قَدَمَهُ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ فَاطِمَةَ فَعَلَّمَنَا مَا نَقُولُ إِذَا أَخَذْنَا مَضَاجِعَنَا ثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ تَسْبِيحَةً وَثَلَاثًا وَثَلَاثِينَ تَحْمِيدَةً وَأَرْبَعًا وَثَلَاثِينَ تَكْبِيرَةً قَالَ عَلِيٌّ فَمَا تَرَكْتُهَا بَعْدُ فَقَالَ لَهُ رَجُلٌ وَلَا لَيْلَةَ صِفِّينَ قَالَ وَلَا لَيْلَةَ صِفِّينَ.

Musnad Ahmad 1263
It was narrated that Katheer bin Nafi’ an-Nawwa` said:
I heard ‘Abdullah bin Mulail say: I heard Ali (رضي الله عنه) say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: `There is no Prophet who came before me but he was given seven chiefs, advisors and nobles, but I have been given fourteen. Hamzah, Ja`far, `Ali, Hasan, Husain, Abu Bakr, ʻUmar, al-Miqdad, Hudhaifah, Salman, `Ammar and Bilal”. (رضي الله عنهم)
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا فِطْرٌ، عَنْ كَثِيرِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ النَّوَّاءِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مُلَيْلٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهُ لَمْ يَكُنْ قَبْلِي نَبِيٌّ إِلَّا قَدْ أُعْطِيَ سَبْعَةَ رُفَقَاءَ نُجَبَاءَ وُزَرَاءَ وَإِنِّي أُعْطِيتُ أَرْبَعَةَ عَشَرَ حَمْزَةُ وَجَعْفَرٌ وَعَلِيٌّ وَحَسَنٌ وَحُسَيْنٌ وَأَبُو بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرُ وَالْمِقْدَادُ وَعَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْعُودٍ وَأَبُو ذَرٍّ وَحُذَيْفَةُ وَسَلْمَانُ وَعَمَّارٌ وَبِلَالٌ.

Mishkat al-Masabih 4518
He told that when Sa'id b. Mu'adh was shot in the median vein of his arm the Prophet with his own hand cauterized it with a broad arrow head. Afterwards it swelled up and he cauterized it a second time.
Muslim transmitted it.
وَعَنْهُ قَالَ: رُمِيَ سَعْدُ بْنُ مُعَاذٍ فِي أكحله فحمسه النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِيَدِهِ بِمِشْقَصٍ ثمَّ ورمت فحمسه الثَّانِيَة. رَوَاهُ مُسلم

أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ ، عَنْ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ حُرٍّ ، حَدَّثَنِي الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ مُخَيْمِرَةَ ، قَالَ : أَخَذَ عَلْقَمَةُ بِيَدِي فَحَدَّثَنِي، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ أَخَذَ بِيَدِهِ، وَأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَخَذَ بِيَدِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، فَعَلَّمَهُ التَّشَهُّدَ فِي الصَّلَاةِ :" التَّحِيَّاتُ لِلَّهِ، وَالصَّلَوَاتُ، وَالطَّيِّبَاتُ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا النَّبِيُّ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَعَلَى عِبَادِ اللَّهِ الصَّالِحِينَ قَالَ زُهَيْرٌ : أُرَاهُ قَالَ : أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ".
أَيْضًا شَكَّ فِي هَاتَيْنِ الْكَلِمَتَيْنِ : إِذَا فَعَلْتَ هَذَا أَوْ قَضَيْتَ، فَقَدْ قَضَيْتَ صَلَاتَكَ، إِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ تَقُومَ، فَقُمْ، وَإِنْ شِئْتَ أَنْ تَقْعُدَ، فَاقْعُدْ

Mishkat al-Masabih 975, 976
‘Abd ar-Rahman b. Ghanm reported the Prophet as saying, “If anyone says ten times before he departs and turns away his feet after the senset and the morning prayers, ‘There is no god but God alone who has no partner, to whom belongs the kingdom, to whom praise is due, in whose hand is good, who gives life, causes death, and is omnipotent,’ ten blessings will be recorded for him for every time he says it, ten evil deeds will be obliterated, he will be raised ten degrees, it will act as a charm for him from every unpleasantness and from the accursed devil, he will not be taken to account for any sin but polytheism, and he will be among those whose deeds are most excellent, except for one who may excel him by saying something more excellent than he did.”
Ahmad transmitted it, and Tirmidhi transmitted something to the same effect from Abu Dharr up to “but polytheism”. He did not mention the sunset prayer, or “In whose hand is good", and he said this is a hasan sahih gharib tradition.
وَعَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ غَنْمٍ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ: «مَنْ قَالَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْصَرِفَ وَيَثْنِيَ رِجْلَيْهِ مِنْ صَلَاةِ الْمَغْرِبِ وَالصُّبْحِ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ يُحْيِي وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ عَشْرَ مَرَّاتٍ كُتِبَ لَهُ بِكُلِّ وَاحِدَةٍ عَشْرُ حَسَنَاتٍ وَمُحِيَتْ عَنْهُ عَشْرُ سَيِّئَاتٍ وَرُفِعَ لَهُ عَشْرُ دَرَجَاتٍ وَكَانَت حِرْزًا مِنْ كُلِّ مَكْرُوهٍ وَحِرْزًا مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيم وَلم يحل لذنب يُدْرِكَهُ إِلَّا الشِّرْكُ وَكَانَ مِنْ أَفْضَلِ النَّاسِ عَمَلًا إِلَّا رَجُلًا يَفْضُلُهُ يَقُولُ أَفْضَلَ مِمَّا قَالَ» . رَوَاهُ أَحْمد
وَرَوَى التِّرْمِذِيُّ نَحْوَهُ عَنْ أَبِي ذَرٍّ إِلَى قَوْلِهِ: «إِلَّا الشِّرْكَ» وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ: «صَلَاةَ الْمَغْرِبِ وَلَا بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ» وَقَالَ: هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيح غَرِيب

Sunan Ibn Majah 2753
It was
narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah (saw)
said:
“Allah has prepared (reward) for those who go out (to fight) in
His
cause: ‘And do not go out except (to fight) for Jihad in My cause,
out of faith in Me and belief in My Messengers, but he has a
guarantee
from Me that I will admit him to Paradise, or I will return
him to his
dwelling from which he set out, with the reward that he
attained, or
the spoils that he acquired.’ Then he said: ‘By the
One in Whose Hand
is my soul, were it not that it would be too
difficult for the
Muslims, I would never have stayed behind from any
expedition that
went out in the cause of Allah. But I could not find
the resources to
give them mounts and they could not find the
resources to follow me,
nor would they be pleased to stay behind if I
went. By the One in
Whose Hand is the soul of Muhammad, I wish I
could fight in the cause
of Allah and be killed, then fight and be
killed, then fight and be
killed.’”
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ فُضَيْلٍ، عَنْ عُمَارَةَ بْنِ الْقَعْقَاعِ، عَنْ أَبِي زُرْعَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم " أَعَدَّ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ خَرَجَ فِي سَبِيلِهِ لاَ يُخْرِجُهُ إِلاَّ جِهَادٌ فِي سَبِيلِي وَإِيمَانٌ بِي وَتَصْدِيقٌ بِرُسُلِي فَهُوَ عَلَىَّ ضَامِنٌ أَنْ أُدْخِلَهُ الْجَنَّةَ أَوْ أَرْجِعَهُ إِلَى مَسْكَنِهِ الَّذِي خَرَجَ مِنْهُ نَائِلاً مَا نَالَ مِنْ أَجْرٍ أَوْ غَنِيمَةٍ " . ثُمَّ قَالَ " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَوْلاَ أَنْ أَشُقَّ عَلَى الْمُسْلِمِينَ مَا قَعَدْتُ خِلاَفَ سَرِيَّةٍ تَخْرُجُ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ أَبَدًا وَلَكِنْ لاَ أَجِدُ سَعَةً فَأَحْمِلَهُمْ وَلاَ يَجِدُونَ سَعَةً فَيَتَّبِعُونِي وَلاَ تَطِيبُ أَنْفُسُهُمْ فَيَتَخَلَّفُونَ بَعْدِي وَالَّذِي نَفْسُ مُحَمَّدٍ بِيَدِهِ لَوَدِدْتُ أَنْ أَغْزُوَ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ فَأُقْتَلَ ثُمَّ أَغْزُوَ فَأُقْتَلَ ثُمَّ أَغْزُوَ فَأُقْتَلَ " .

`Abd Khair said:
I saw `Ali (رضي الله عنه) when a chair was brought to him and he sat on it, then an earthenware jug - Hajjaj said: A stone vessel-of water was brought to him. He washed his hands three times; rinsed his mouth three times and his nose with one scoop of water, he washed his face three times and washed his forearms three times-Hajjaj said: three times each - and he placed his hands in the vessel, then he wiped his head Hajjaj said: he gestured with his hands from the front of his head to the back. He said: I do not know whether he brought them back to the front of his head or not. And he washed his feet three times-Hajjaj said: three times each - then he said: Whoever would like to see the wudoo` of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) , this is the wudoo’ of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي شُعْبَةُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ مَالِكَ بْنَ عُرْفُطَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ خَيْرٍ، قَالَ رَأَيْتُ عَلِيًّا رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أُتِيَ بِكُرْسِيٍّ فَقَعَدَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ أُتِيَ بِكُوزٍ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ بِتَوْرٍ مِنْ مَاءٍ قَالَ فَغَسَلَ يَدَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا وَمَضْمَضَ ثَلَاثًا مَعَ الِاسْتِنْشَاقِ بِمَاءٍ وَاحِدٍ وَغَسَلَ وَجْهَهُ ثَلَاثًا وَغَسَلَ ذِرَاعَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا بِيَدٍ وَاحِدَةٍ وَوَضَعَ يَدَيْهِ فِي التَّوْرِ ثُمَّ مَسَحَ رَأْسَهُ قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ فَأَشَارَ بِيَدَيْهِ مِنْ مُقَدَّمِ رَأْسِهِ إِلَى مُؤَخَّرِ رَأْسِهِ قَالَ وَلَا أَدْرِي أَرَدَّهَا إِلَى مُقَدَّمِ رَأْسِهِ أَمْ لَا وَغَسَلَ رِجْلَيْهِ ثَلَاثًا قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ ثَلَاثًا ثَلَاثًا ثُمَّ قَالَ مَنْ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى طُهُورِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَهَذَا طُهُورُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Mishkat al-Masabih 2824
Usama b. Zaid reported the Prophet as saying, "Credit involves usury.” In a version he said, "There is no usury when payment is made on the spot.”

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) granted a concession allowing silk the width of two fingers.

It was narrated from `Uthman (رضي الله عنه) that The Prophet (ﷺ) said:

Qatadah narrated that `Uthman (رضي الله عنه) was killed when he was ninety years old or eighty-eight years old.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade a man to recite Qur`an whilst bowing or prostrating.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَقْرَأَ الرَّجُلُ وَهُوَ رَاكِعٌ أَوْ سَاجِدٌ.

It was narrated that ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said:
Witr is not an essential like regular prayer, but it is a Sunnah that was established by the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).
حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ ضَمْرَةَ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ الْوَتْرُ لَيْسَ بِحَتْمٍ مِثْلَ الصَّلَاةِ وَلَكِنَّهُ سُنَّةٌ سَنَّهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Mishkat al-Masabih 2533
Ibn ‘Abbas said that the people of the Yemen used to perform the pilgrimage without bringing provisions, declaring that they put their trust in God; and when they came to Mecca they begged from the people. So God most high sent down, “And bring provisions, but the best provision is piety.’’(Qur’an 2:197)

about which Allah says, “And take you (people) the Maqam (place) of

"The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) used to pray while on his animal when he was coming back from Makkah to Madinah. Concerning this, the verse was revealed: So wherever you turn (yourselves or your faces) there is the Face of Allah.'" [1]

It was narrated from 'Ubdah bin As-Samit-who had been present at Badar and had given his pledge to the Prophet swearing not to fear the blame of any blamer for the sake of Allah that 'Ubadah stood up to deliver a speech and said:
"O people, you have invented kinds of transactions, I do not know what they are, but make sure it is gold for gold, of the same weight, or silver for silver, of the same weight. There is nothing wrong with selling silver for gold, hand to hand, giving more silver than gold, but no credit is allowed. When you sell wheat for wheat and barley for barley, it should be measure for measure, but there is nothing wrong with selling barley for wheat, hand to hand, giving more barley than wheat, but no credit is allowed. And when you sell dates for dates, it should be measure for measure" And he mentioned salt, "measure for measure, and whoever gives more or asks for more has engaged in Riba.
أَخْبَرَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ آدَمَ، عَنْ عَبْدَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ مُسْلِمِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الأَشْعَثِ الصَّنْعَانِيِّ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، - وَكَانَ بَدْرِيًّا وَكَانَ بَايَعَ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنْ لاَ يَخَافَ فِي اللَّهِ لَوْمَةَ لاَئِمٍ - أَنَّ عُبَادَةَ قَامَ خَطِيبًا فَقَالَ أَيُّهَا النَّاسُ إِنَّكُمْ قَدْ أَحْدَثْتُمْ بُيُوعًا لاَ أَدْرِي مَا هِيَ أَلاَ إِنَّ الذَّهَبَ بِالذَّهَبِ وَزْنًا بِوَزْنٍ تِبْرُهَا وَعَيْنُهَا وَإِنَّ الْفِضَّةَ بِالْفِضَّةِ وَزْنًا بِوَزْنٍ تِبْرُهَا وَعَيْنُهَا وَلاَ بَأْسَ بِبَيْعِ الْفِضَّةِ بِالذَّهَبِ يَدًا بِيَدٍ وَالْفِضَّةُ أَكْثَرُهُمَا وَلاَ تَصْلُحُ النَّسِيئَةُ أَلاَ إِنَّ الْبُرَّ بِالْبُرِّ وَالشَّعِيرَ بِالشَّعِيرِ مُدْيًا بِمُدْىٍ وَلاَ بَأْسَ بِبَيْعِ الشَّعِيرِ بِالْحِنْطَةِ يَدًا بِيَدٍ وَالشَّعِيرُ أَكْثَرُهُمَا وَلاَ يَصْلُحُ نَسِيئَةً أَلاَ وَإِنَّ التَّمْرَ بِالتَّمْرِ مُدْيًا بِمُدْىٍ حَتَّى ذَكَرَ الْمِلْحَ مُدًّا بِمُدٍّ فَمَنْ زَادَ أَوِ اسْتَزَادَ فَقَدْ أَرْبَى .

Lā ilāha illallāh
waḥdahu lā sharīka lah,
Lahu ‘l-mulku wa lahu ‘l-ḥamd,
Yuḥyī wa yumīt,
wa huwa ḥayyun lā yamūt,
Biyadihi ‘l-khayr,
wa huwa `alā kulli shay'in Qadīr.
None has the right to be worshipped but Allah alone,
Who has no partner.
His is the dominion and His is the praise. He brings life and He causes death,
and He is living and does not die.
In His Hand is all good,
and He is Able to do all things.

Narrated ‘Abdullah bin Zaid bin ‘Aasim (rad) describing the nature of ablution performance:
Allah’s Messenger (saw) wiped his head from the forehead to the back of his head and then back to the forehead with his (wet) hands. [ Agreed upon ].

Abu Huraira reported that God’s messenger declared that God said, “The son of Adam injures me by abusing time, whereas I am time. Authority is in my hand. I vary night and day.”

Mishkat al-Masabih 882
‘Auf b. Malik said that he stood up to pray along with God’s Messenger and that when he bowed he paused about as long as it would take to recite Sura al-Baqara (Al-Qur’an; 2) and said while bowing, “Glory be to the Possessor of greatness, the kingdom, grandeur and majesty.”
Nasa’i transmitted it.

Mishkat al-Masabih 5625
Abu Huraira reported God's messenger as saying, "Peoples will enter paradise with hearts like the hearts of birds[*]."
*Mirqat, 5, 291, gives three possible meanings:
(1) with no jealousy, rancour, deceit, or hatred; (2) in trepidation, being on their guard; (3) with complete trust, as birds trust God for their food.
Muslim transmitted it.

Bulugh al-Maram 762
'Abdullah bin Masud (RAA) narrated that he kept the Ka'bah on his left and Mina on his right and threw the seven pebbles of Jamrat-ul ‘Aqabah. He then said, ‘This is the location where the one on whom surah al-Baqarah. (surah no. 2) was revealed (i e. the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.)).’ Agreed upon.

Narrated Abu Huraira:
The Prophet said, "The signs of a hypocrite are three:
1. Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie.
2. Whenever he promises, he always breaks it (his promise ).
3. If you trust him, he proves to be dishonest. (If you keep something as a trust with him, he will not return it.)"

Narrated Al-Bara:
The companions of (the Prophet) Muhammad who took part in Badr, told me that their number was that of Saul's (i.e. Talut's) companions who crossed the river (of Jordan) with him and they were over three-hundred-and-ten men. By Allah, none crossed the river with him but a believer. (See Qur'an 2:249)

Narrated `Ali bin Abi Talib:
That Allah's Apostle came to him and Fatima the daughter of Allah's Apostle at their house at night and said, "Won't you pray?" `Ali replied, "O Allah's Apostle! Our souls are in the Hands of Allah and when he wants us to get up, He makes us get up." When `Ali said that to him, Allah's Apostle left without saying anything to him. While the Prophet was leaving, `Ali heard him striking his thigh (with his hand) and saying, "But man is quarrelsome more than anything else." (18.54)
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو الْيَمَانِ، أَخْبَرَنَا شُعَيْبٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، ح حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَلاَمٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَتَّابُ بْنُ بَشِيرٍ، عَنْ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَلِيُّ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ، أَنَّ حُسَيْنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ عَلِيَّ بْنَ أَبِي طَالِبٍ قَالَ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم طَرَقَهُ وَفَاطِمَةَ ـ عَلَيْهَا السَّلاَمُ ـ بِنْتَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ لَهُمْ " أَلاَ تُصَلُّونَ ". فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ إِنَّمَا أَنْفُسُنَا بِيَدِ اللَّهِ، فَإِذَا شَاءَ أَنْ يَبْعَثَنَا بَعَثَنَا، فَانْصَرَفَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم حِينَ قَالَ لَهُ ذَلِكَ وَلَمْ يَرْجِعْ إِلَيْهِ شَيْئًا، ثُمَّ سَمِعَهُ وَهْوَ مُدْبِرٌ يَضْرِبُ فَخِذَهُ وَهْوَ يَقُولُ {وَكَانَ الإِنْسَانُ أَكْثَرَ شَىْءٍ جَدَلاً} . قَالَ أَبُو عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يُقَالُ مَا أَتَاكَ لَيْلاً فَهْوَ طَارِقٌ. وَيُقَالُ الطَّارِقُ النَّجْمُ، وَالثَّاقِبُ الْمُضِيءُ، يُقَالُ أَثْقِبْ نَارَكَ لِلْمُوقِدِ.

Riyad as-Salihin 517
Jabir bin 'Abdullah (May Allah be pleased with them) reported:
Messenger of Allah (PBUH) sent us in an expedition under the command of Abu 'Ubaidah (May Allah be pleased with him) to intercept a caravan of the Quraish. He provided us with a bag of dates, apart from which he found nothing for us. Abu 'Ubaidah (May Allah be pleased with him) gave each of us one date (every day). He (the narrator) was asked: "What did you do with that?" He said: We sucked that just like a baby and then drank water over that, and it was sufficient for us for the day until night. We beat off leaves with the help of our sticks, then drenched them with water and ate them. We then went to the seaside, when there appeared before us something like a big mound. We came near it and we found that it was a beast called Al-Anbar. Abu 'Ubaidah (May Allah be pleased with him) said: "It is dead (so it useless for us)." He then said: "No (but it does not matter), we have been sent by Messenger of Allah (PBUH) in the way of Allah and you are hard-pressed (on account of the scarcity of food), so you can eat that." We, three hundred in number, stayed there for a month until we fattened up (having plenty to eat of that fish). He (Jabir) said: I saw how we extracted pitcher after pitcher full of fat from the cavity of its eye, and sliced from it compact piece of meat equal to a bull or almost like a bull. Abu 'Ubaidah (May Allah be pleased with him) called thirteen men from us and he made them sit in the cavity of its eye, and he held one of its ribs and raised it erect and then saddled the biggest of the camels we had with us and it passed through it (the arched rib), and we carried large pieces of meat for use in our journey. When we came back to Al-Madinah we went to Messenger of Allah (PBUH) and told him about that, whereupon he said, "That was a sustenance Allah had brought forth for you. Do you have any piece of meat left with you, for us to eat." Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) said: We sent to Messenger of Allah (PBUH) some of that (meat) and he ate it.

وعن أبي عبد الله جابر بن عبد الله رضي الله عنهما قال: بعثنا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وأمر علينا أبا عبيدة رضي الله عنه، نتلقى عيرا لقريش، وزودنا جراباً من تمر لم يجد لنا غيره، فكان أبوعبيدة يعطينا تمرة تمرة، فقيل كيف كنتم تصنعون بها؟ قال: نمصها كما يمص الصبي، ثم نشرب عليها من الماء، فتكفينا يومنا إلى الليل، وكنا نضرب بعصينا الخبط، ثم نبله بالماء فنأكله. قال: وانطلقنا على ساحل البحر، فرفع لنا على ساحل البحر كهيئة الكثيب الضخم، فأتيناه فإذا هي دابة تدعى العنبر، فقال أبو عبيدة: ميتة، ثم قال: لا، بل نحن رسل رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وفي سبيل الله وقد اضطررتم فكلوا، فأقمنا عليه شهرا، ونحن ثلاثمائة، حتى سمنا، ولقد رأيتنا نغترف من وقب عينه بالقلال الدهن ونقطع منه الفدر كالثور أو كقدر الثور، ولقد أخذ منا أبوعبيدة ثلاثة عشر رجلا فأقعدهم في وقب عينه وأخذ ضلعا من أضلاعه فأقامها ثم رحل أعظم بعير معنا فمر من تحتها وتزودنا من لحمه وشائق، فلما قدمنا المدينة أتينا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فذكرنا ذلك له، فقال: "هو رزق أخرجه الله لكم، فهل معكم من لحمه شئ فتطعمونا؟" فأرسلنا إلى رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم منه فأكله. ((رواه مسلم)).

It was narrated from `Abdullah bin Yasar that `Amr bin Huraith visited al-Hasan bin `Ali (رضي الله عنهما) [when he was sick]. `Ali said to him:
Are you visiting al-Hasan [during his sickness] when you feel what you feel? He said to him: You are not my Lord, to direct my heart as you will. ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: That does not prevent us from giving you advice. I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) say: `There is no Muslim who visits his sick brother, but Allah will send to him seventy thousand angels who will send blessings upon him from whatever hour of the day it is until evening comes, and from whatever hour of the night it is until morning comes. `Amr said to him: What do you say about walking in front of or behind the bier at a funeral? `Ali (رضي الله عنه) said. The superiority of walking behind it over walking in front of it is like the superiority of offering a prescribed prayer in congregation over offering the prayer alone. `Amr said: But I saw Abu Bakr und ‘Umar walking in front of the bier, Ali (رضي الله عنه) said; They did not like to embarrass the people.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ يَعْلَى بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ، أَنَّ عَمْرَو بْنَ حُرَيْثٍ، عَادَ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ أَتَعُودُ الْحَسَنَ وَفِي نَفْسِكَ مَا فِيهَا فَقَالَ لَهُ عَمْرٌو إِنَّكَ لَسْتَ بِرَبِّي فَتَصْرِفَ قَلْبِي حَيْثُ شِئْتَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَمَا إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لَا يَمْنَعُنَا أَنْ نُؤَدِّيَ إِلَيْكَ النَّصِيحَةَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ عَادَ أَخَاهُ إِلَّا ابْتَعَثَ اللَّهُ لَهُ سَبْعِينَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ يُصَلُّونَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ أَيِّ سَاعَاتِ النَّهَارِ كَانَ حَتَّى يُمْسِيَ وَمِنْ أَيِّ سَاعَاتِ اللَّيْلِ كَانَ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ قَالَ لَهُ عَمْرٌو وَكَيْفَ تَقُولُ فِي الْمَشْيِ مَعَ الْجِنَازَةِ بَيْنَ يَدَيْهَا أَوْ خَلْفَهَا فَقَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنَّ فَضْلَ الْمَشْيِ مِنْ خَلْفِهَا عَلَى بَيْنِ يَدَيْهَا كَفَضْلِ صَلَاةِ الْمَكْتُوبَةِ فِي جَمَاعَةٍ عَلَى الْوَحْدَةِ قَالَ عَمْرٌو فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ أَبَا بَكْرٍ وَعُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا يَمْشِيَانِ أَمَامَ الْجِنَازَةِ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِنَّهُمَا إِنَّمَا كَرِهَا أَنْ يُحْرِجَا النَّاسَ.

" إِنَّ سُورَةً مِنَ الْقُرْآنِ ثَلاَثُونَ آيَةً شَفَعَتْ لِرَجُلٍ حَتَّى غُفِرَ لَهُ وَهِيَ سُورَةُ تَبَارَكَ الَّذِي بِيَدِهِ الْمُلْكُ."
Yahya related to me from Malik that Nafi said, "I stood behind Abdullah ibn Umar in one of the prayers when there was no one else with him, and he reached behind with his hand and placed me beside him."

Anas said that God’s Messenger sacrificed with his own hand two horned rams which were white with black markings, mentioned God’s name and said, "God is most great.” He added:
I saw him placing his foot on their sides and saying, "In the name of God. God is most great.”

It was narrated that Shuraih bin Hani’ said:
I asked `A`ishah about wiping over the khuff (leather slippers) and she said. Ask ‘Ali, for he knows more that than me; he used to travel with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). So I asked ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) and he said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: `For the traveller, three days and nights; for the one who is not travelling one day and night.`

It was narrated that Ibn ‘Umar said:
One of the Companions of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ entered the mosque on a Friday, when 'Umar bin al Khattab رضي الله عنه was addressing the people. 'Umar said: What time is this? He said: 'O Ameer al-Mu'mineen, I have just come from the marketplace. I heard the call and I did not do anything more than wudoo', 'Umar رضي الله عنه said: Wudoo’ too! You know that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to enjoin ghusl!
قَالَ أَبُو عَبْد الرَّحْمَنِ حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَد بْن حَنْبَلٍ، قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ مَهْدِيٍّ : مَالِكٌ عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ دَخَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الْمَسْجِدَ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ وَعُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ أَيَّةُ سَاعَةٍ هَذِهِ فَقَالَ يَا أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ انْقَلَبْتُ مِنْ السُّوقِ فَسَمِعْتُ النِّدَاءَ فَمَا زِدْتُ عَلَى أَنْ تَوَضَّأْتُ فَقَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَالْوُضُوءَ أَيْضًا وَقَدْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَأْمُرُ بِالْغُسْلِ.

Musnad Ahmad 422
It was narrated that Nubaih bin Wahb said:
`Umar bin `Ubaidullah sent word to Aban bin `Uthman (رضي الله عنه), (to ask) whether he could apply something to his eyes when he was in ihram - or (to ask) what he could apply to his eyes when he was in ihram. He sent word back to him telling him that he could apply aloes to them, and I heard `Uthman bin Affan(رضي الله عنه) narrating that from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) .
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنْ نُبَيْهِ بْنِ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ أَرْسَلَ عُمَرُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ إِلَى أَبَانَ بْنِ عُثْمَانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَيُكَحِّلُ عَيْنَيْهِ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ أَوْ بِأَيِّ شَيْءٍ يُكَحِّلُهُمَا وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ فَأَرْسَلَ إِلَيْهِ أَنْ يُضَمِّدَهُمَا بِالصَّبِرِ فَإِنِّي سَمِعْتُ عُثْمَانَ بْنَ عَفَّانَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يُحَدِّثُ ذَلِكَ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

It was narrated from Hajjaj:
I heard ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) say: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “If there was only one day left of this world, Allah, may He be glorified and exalted, would send a man from us [Ahlul Bait] to fill it with justice as it was filled with injustice.” Abu Nu`aim said: `A man from me.` He said: On one occasion I heard him narrate it from Habeeb from Abut-Tufail from `Ali (رضي الله عنه) from the Prophet (ﷺ).
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، وَأَبُو نُعَيْمٍ قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا فِطْرٌ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ أَبِي بَزَّةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ، قَالَ حَجَّاجٌ سَمِعْتُ عَلِيًّا، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ يَقُولُ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لَوْ لَمْ يَبْقَ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا إِلَّا يَوْمٌ لَبَعَثَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ رَجُلًا مِنَّا يَمْلَؤُهَا عَدْلًا كَمَا مُلِئَتْ جَوْرًا قَالَ أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ رَجُلًا مِنَّا قَالَ وَسَمِعْتُهُ مَرَّةً يَذْكُرُهُ عَنْ حَبِيبٍ عَنْ أَبِي الطُّفَيْلِ عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ عَنْ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

It was narrated that Zirr bin Hubaish said:
’Abdullah bin Mas`ood said: We differed concerning a soorah of the Qur`an and said; (It is) thirty-five verses or thirty-six. We went to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) and found ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) conversing with him. We said: We have differed concerning the recitation. The face of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) turned red and ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) is telling you to recite it as you were taught.

It was narrated that IbnʼUmar (رضي الله عنه) said:
(The body of) `Umar bin al Khattab (رضي الله عنه) was placed between the minbar and the grave, and ‘Ali came and stood before the rows. He said: Here he is, three times. Then he said: May the mercy of Allah be upon you; there is no one among the creation of Allah with whose record of deeds I would more like to meet Allah, apart from the Prophet (ﷺ), than the one who lies here, covered with this garment.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ الْوَرَكَانِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَعْشَرٍ، نَجِيحٌ الْمَدَنِيُّ مَوْلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ وُضِعَ عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ بَيْنَ الْمِنْبَرِ وَالْقَبْرِ فَجَاءَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ حَتَّى قَامَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْ الصُّفُوفِ فَقَالَ هُوَ هَذَا ثَلَاثَ مَرَّاتٍ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ مَا مِنْ خَلْقِ اللَّهِ تَعَالَى أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَلْقَاهُ بِصَحِيفَتِهِ بَعْدَ صَحِيفَةِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مِنْ هَذَا الْمُسَجَّى عَلَيْهِ ثَوْبُهُ.

It was narrated from ‘Awn bin Abi Juhaifah that his father said:
I was with ʻUmar (رضي الله عنه) when he was lying covered with his garment after he had passed away. `Ali (رضي الله عنه) came and lifted the cloth from his face, then he said: May the mercy of Allah be upon you, Abu Hafs, for by Allah there is no one left, after the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), with whose record of deeds I would more like to meet Allah with than your record.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْهَرَوِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ أَبِي يَعْفُورٍ، عَنْ عَوْنِ بْنِ أَبِي جُحَيْفَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ كُنْتُ عِنْدَ عُمَرَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ وَهُوَ مُسَجًّى بِثَوْبِهِ قَدْ قَضَى نَحْبَهُ فَجَاءَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَكَشَفَ الثَّوْبَ عَنْ وَجْهِهِ ثُمَّ قَالَ رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ أَبَا حَفْصٍ فَوَاللَّهِ مَا بَقِيَ بَعْدَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَحَدٌ أَحَبُّ إِلَيَّ مِنْ أَنْ أَلْقَى اللَّهَ تَعَالَى بِصَحِيفَتِهِ مِنْكَ.

Ibn Abu Laila narrated from Ibn al-Asbahani from his grandmother, who was a concubine of ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه), that she said:
`Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: I was a man who fell asleep easily, and when I had prayed Maghrib and was covered with my garment, I would sleep then - Yahya bin Sa’eed said: I would sleep before `Isha`- I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about that and he granted me a concession.
حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْأُمَوِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ ابْنِ الْأَصْبَهَانِيِّ، عَنْ جَدَّةٍ، لَهُ وَكَانَتْ سُرِّيَّةً لِعَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَتْ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ كُنْتُ رَجُلًا نَئُومًا وَكُنْتُ إِذَا صَلَّيْتُ الْمَغْرِبَ وَعَلَيَّ ثِيَابِي نِمْتُ ثُمَّ قَالَ يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ فَأَنَامُ قَبْلَ الْعِشَاءِ فَسَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ ذَلِكَ فَرَخَّصَ لِي.

It was narrated that ‘Abdur-Rahman bin Abi Laila said:
When `Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) heard the mu`addhin giving the adhan, he used to repeat after him. When he said, I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), `Ali (رضي الله عنه) would say: I bear witness that there is no god but Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), and that those who deny Muhammad are the liars.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمِنْهَالِ، أَخُو حَجَّاجِ بْنِ مِنْهَالٍ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَاحِدِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَعِيدٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، قَالَ كَانَ عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ إِذَا سَمِعَ الْمُؤَذِّنَ، يُؤَذِّنُ قَالَ كَمَا يَقُولُ فَإِذَا قَالَ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا اللَّهُ وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَأَنَّ الَّذِينَ جَحَدُوا مُحَمَّدًا هُمْ الْكَاذِبُونَ.

It was narrated that ‘Abeedah said:
‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said to the people of an-Nahrawan: Among them is a man with a defective arm - or an incomplete arm, or a deformed arm. If you could exercise restraint I would have told you what Allah promised on the lips of His Prophet (ﷺ) to those who kill them. `Abeedah said: I said to ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه): Did you hear him? He said: Yes, by the Lord of the Ka`bah; and he swore this oath three times.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَنْبَأَنَا هِشَامٌ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَبِيدَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ عَلِيٌّ لِأَهْلِ النَّهْرَوَانِ مِنْهُمْ رَجُلٌ مَثْدُونُ الْيَدِ أَوْ مُودَنُ الْيَدِ أَوْ مُخْدَجُ الْيَدِ لَوْلَا أَنْ تَبْطَرُوا لَأَنْبَأْتُكُمْ مَا قَضَى اللَّهُ عَلَى لِسَانِ نَبِيِّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ لِمَنْ قَتَلَهُمْ قَالَ عَبِيدَةُ فَقُلْتُ لِعَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ آنْتَ سَمِعْتَهُ قَالَ نَعَمْ وَرَبِّ الْكَعْبَةِ يَحْلِفُ عَلَيْهَا ثَلَاثًا.

It was narrated from ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) that When the Prophet (ﷺ) sent him with Bara`ah (Soorat At-Tawbah), he said:
“O Prophet (ﷺ) of Allah, I am not eloquent or a good speaker.” He said: “I have no choice but to go myself or send you with it.” Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: “If that is the case, I have no choice but to go.” He said: `Go, and Allah will make your tongue steadfast and guide your heart.` Then he placed his hand over his mouth.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو بَكْرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ حَمَّادٍ، عَنْ أَسْبَاطِ بْنِ نَصْرٍ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ حَنَشٍ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ بَعَثَهُ بِبَرَاءَةٌ فَقَالَ يَا نَبِيَّ اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَسْتُ بِاللَّسِنِ وَلَا بِالْخَطِيبِ قَالَ مَا بُدٌّ أَنْ أَذْهَبَ بِهَا أَنَا أَوْ تَذْهَبَ بِهَا أَنْتَ قَالَ فَإِنْ كَانَ وَلَا بُدَّ فَسَأَذْهَبُ أَنَا قَالَ فَانْطَلِقْ فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ يُثَبِّتُ لِسَانَكَ وَيَهْدِي قَلْبَكَ قَالَ ثُمَّ وَضَعَ يَدَهُ عَلَى فَمِهِ.

that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) passed through the Masjid one day, and a group of women were sitting, so he motioned his hand with the Salam - 'Abdul-Hamid (one of the narrators) gestured with his hand.
حَدَّثَنَا سُوَيْدٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ بَهْرَامَ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ شَهْرَ بْنَ حَوْشَبٍ، يَقُولُ سَمِعْتُ أَسْمَاءَ بِنْتَ يَزِيدَ، تُحَدِّثُ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم مَرَّ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ يَوْمًا وَعُصْبَةٌ مِنَ النِّسَاءِ قُعُودٌ فَأَلْوَى بِيَدِهِ بِالتَّسْلِيمِ وَأَشَارَ عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بِيَدِهِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ . قَالَ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ حَنْبَلٍ لاَ بَأْسَ بِحَدِيثِ عَبْدِ الْحَمِيدِ بْنِ بَهْرَامَ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ . وَقَالَ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ شَهْرٌ حَسَنُ الْحَدِيثِ وَقَوَّى أَمْرَهُ وَقَالَ إِنَّمَا تَكَلَّمَ فِيهِ ابْنُ عَوْنٍ ثُمَّ رَوَى عَنْ هِلاَلِ بْنِ أَبِي زَيْنَبَ عَنْ شَهْرِ بْنِ حَوْشَبٍ . أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو دَاوُدَ الْمَصَاحِفِيُّ بَلْخِيٌّ أَخْبَرَنَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ قَالَ إِنَّ شَهْرًا نَزَكُوهُ . قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ قَالَ النَّضْرُ تَرَكُوهُ أَىْ طَعَنُوا فِيهِ وَإِنَّمَا طَعَنُوا فِيهِ لأَنَّهُ وَلِيَ أَمْرَ السُّلْطَانِ .

Mishkat al-Masabih 2255
As-Sa’ib b. Yazid, on his father’s authority, said that when the Prophet made supplication and raised his hands, he wiped his face with them.
Baihaqi transmitted the three traditions in [Kitab] ad-Da'awat al-kabir.

Sahih al-Bukhari 5565
Narrated Anas:
The Prophet offered as sacrifices, two horned rams, black and white in color. He slaughtered them with his own hands and mentioned Allah's Name over them and said Takbir and put his foot on their sides.
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ ضَحَّى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِكَبْشَيْنِ أَمْلَحَيْنِ أَقْرَنَيْنِ، ذَبَحَهُمَا بِيَدِهِ، وَسَمَّى وَكَبَّرَ وَوَضَعَ رِجْلَهُ عَلَى صِفَاحِهِمَا.

Hadith 4, 40 Hadith Qudsi
On the authority of Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said:
Allah said:
Sons of Adam inveigh against [the vicissitudes of] Time, and I am Time, in My hand is the night and the day (1).
(1) As the Almighty is the Ordainer of all things, to inveigh against misfortunes that are part of Time is tantamount to inveighing against Him.
It was related by al-Bukhari (also by Muslim).
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ، قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ:
" قَالَ اللَّهُ: يَسُبُّ بَنُو آدَمَ الدَّهْرَ، وَأَنَا الدَّهْرُ، بِيَدِي اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ"

Abu Huraira reported God’s messenger as saying, "By Him in whose hand my soul is, if you had not sinned God would have removed you and brought a people who sin, then ask God’s pardon and are forgiven."
Muslim transmitted it.

“When a man has intercourse with his wife through the vagina, but being on her back, the child will have a squint,” so the verse came down, “Your wives are a tilth to you, so come to your tilth however you will” (Al-Qur’an 2:223).

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:
"When the Prophet (SAW) began facing the Ka'bah they said: 'O Messenger of Allah! How about our brothers who died while they were praying toward Bait Al-Maqdis?' So Allah Most High revealed: Allah would not allow your faith to be wasted. (2:143)"
حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، وَأَبُو عَمَّارٍ قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ لَمَّا وُجِّهَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ قَالُوا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ بِإِخْوَانِنَا الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ: (وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَانَكُمْ ) الآيَةَ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ .

Zaid bin Arqam narrated:
"We used to talk behind Allah's Messenger (S) during the Salat, a man among us would talk to his companions next to him until (the following) was revealed: And stand before Allah with obedience. (2:238) So we were ordered to be silent and prohibited from talking."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هُشَيْمٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ أَبِي خَالِدٍ، عَنِ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ شُبَيْلٍ، عَنْ أَبِي عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيِّ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ، قَالَ كُنَّا نَتَكَلَّمُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فِي الصَّلاَةِ يُكَلِّمُ الرَّجُلُ مِنَّا صَاحِبَهُ إِلَى جَنْبِهِ حَتَّى نَزَلَتْ : (وَقُومُوا لِلَّهِ قَانِتِينَ ) فَأُمِرْنَا بِالسُّكُوتِ وَنُهِينَا عَنِ الْكَلاَمِ . قَالَ وَفِي الْبَابِ عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ وَمُعَاوِيَةَ بْنِ الْحَكَمِ . قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى حَدِيثُ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَرْقَمَ حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ . وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَيْهِ عِنْدَ أَكْثَرِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ . قَالُوا إِذَا تَكَلَّمَ الرَّجُلُ عَامِدًا فِي الصَّلاَةِ أَوْ نَاسِيًا أَعَادَ الصَّلاَةَ . وَهُوَ قَوْلُ سُفْيَانَ الثَّوْرِيِّ وَابْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ وَأَهْلِ الْكُوفَةِ . وَقَالَ بَعْضُهُمْ إِذَا تَكَلَّمَ عَامِدًا فِي الصَّلاَةِ أَعَادَ الصَّلاَةَ وَإِنْ كَانَ نَاسِيًا أَوْ جَاهِلاً أَجْزَأَهُ . وَبِهِ يَقُولُ الشَّافِعِيُّ .

It was narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Nafi’ said:
Abu Moosa al-Ash’ari visited al-Hasan bin `Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) when he was sick. `Ali (رضي الله عنه) said to him: Have you come to visit him because he is sick or is it a social visit? He said: No, rather I have come to visit him because he is sick, ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: There is no Muslim who visits a sick person, but seventy thousand angels go out with him, all of them praying for forgiveness for him. If he went out in the morning [they continued to do that] until evening comes, and he will have a garden in Paradise. If he goes out in the evening, seventy thousand angels go out with him, all of them praying for forgiveness for him until morning comes, and he will have a garden in Paradise.”
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنِ الْحَكَمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ عَادَ أَبُو مُوسَى الْأَشْعَرِيُّ الْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ فَقَالَ لَهُ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَعَائِدًا جِئْتَ أَمْ زَائِرًا قَالَ لَا بَلْ جِئْتُ عَائِدًا قَالَ عَلِيٌّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ أَمَا إِنَّهُ مَا مِنْ مُسْلِمٍ يَعُودُ مَرِيضًا إِلَّا خَرَجَ مَعَهُ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ كُلُّهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُ إِنْ كَانَ مُصْبِحًا حَتَّى يُمْسِيَ وَكَانَ لَهُ خَرِيفٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ وَإِنْ كَانَ مُمْسِيًا خَرَجَ مَعَهُ سَبْعُونَ أَلْفَ مَلَكٍ كُلُّهُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُ لَهُ حَتَّى يُصْبِحَ وَكَانَ لَهُ خَرِيفٌ فِي الْجَنَّةِ.
