The Prophet said, "May Allah curse the Jews! When Allah forbade them to eat the fat of animals, they melted it and sold it, and utilized its price! "

The Suras of Bani Israel, Al-Kahf, Mariyam, Taha and Al-Anbiya are from the very old Suras which I learnt by heart, and they are my first property.

The Prophet said, "None of you should flog his wife as he flogs a slave and then have sexual intercourse with her in the last part of the day."

The Prophet said, "A woman should not look at or touch another woman to describe her to her husband in such a way as if he was actually looking at her."

The Prophet said, "Whoever has eaten garlic or onion should keep away from us (or should keep away from our mosque).'

During the lifetime of the Prophet we used to take with us the meat of the sacrifices (of Id al Adha) to Medina. (The narrator often said. The meat of the Hadi).

Allah's Apostle said, "Those who make these pictures will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them. 'Make alive what you have created.'"

The Prophet said, "The biggest sins are: To join others in worship with Allah; to be undutiful to one's parents; to kill somebody unlawfully; and to take an oath Al-Ghamus.

`Abdullah said, "The judgment I will give in this matter will be like the judgment of the Prophet, i.e. one-half is for the daughter and one-sixth for the son's daughter and the rest of the inheritance for the sister."

Allah's Apostle has never refused to admit me since I embraced Islam, and whenever he saw me, he would smile.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar ibn al-Khattab used to say, "If the ruku has passed you by, so has the sajda."

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Ali ibn Abi Talib and Abdullah ibn Abbas did not do wudu after eating cooked food.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar used to say, "Zakat does not have to be paid on property until a year has elapsed over it."

Yahya related to me from Malik from Nafi that Abdullah ibn Umar said, when nicking the hump of his sacrificial animal to brand it, "In the name of Allah, and Allah is greater."

I saw Jabir bin `Abdullah praying in a single garment and he said that he had seen the Prophet praying in a single garment.

My father said. "Allah's Apostle said, 'If the Iqama is pronounced then do not stand for the prayer till you see me (in front of you).' "

The Prophet (p.b.u.h) said, "Do not stand up (for prayer) unless you see me, and observe calmness and solemnity".

The Prophet went towards the Musalla and invoked Allah for rain. He faced the Qibla and wore his cloak inside out, and offered two rak`at.

Allah's Apostle said, "Both the buyer and the seller have the option of canceling or confirming a bargain unless they separate, or the sale is optional." (See Hadith No.320).

There is something about this from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr.

"The Messenger of Allah (saws) prohibited making Nabidh from unripend dates and fresh dates together.

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

Jabir b. Abdullah is reported to have said that the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) came to 'A'isha (Allah be pleased with her) and she was weeping. The rest of the hadith is the same.

Two more versions of the tradition narrated by 'Abdullah b. Badr and Abu Huraira, respectively, have been handed down through different chains of transmitters with negligible difference in the wording.

"The Messenger of Allah (saws) prohibited wearing Al-Qassi and what was dyed with 'Usfur."

[Abu 'Eisa said:] There are narrations on this topic from Anas and 'Abdullah bin 'Amr.

Allah's Apostle forbade the sale of date fruits till they were ripe. Abu `Abdullah (Al-Bukhari) said, "That means till they were red (can be eaten).

During the life-time of the Prophet we used to take the meat of sacrificed animals (as journey food) to Medina. (See Hadith No. 474 Vol. 7)

The Prophet said, "Who-ever slaps his face or tears the bosom of his dress, or calls the calls of the Period of Ignorance, is not from us."

Allah's Apostle led the funeral prayer for the Negus and made us stand in rows behind him and I was in the second or third row.

I was driving the she-camel of the Messenger of Allah (saws) during a journey. He said to me: Uqbah, should I not teach you two best surahs ever recited? He then taught me: "Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of the dawn," and "Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of men." He did not see me much pleased (by these two surahs).

When he alighted for prayer, he led the people in the morning prayer and recited them in prayer. When the Messenger of Allah (saws) finished his prayer, he turned to me and said: O Uqbah, how did you see.

I saw the Messenger of Allah (saws) counting the glorification of Allah on fingers.

Ibn Qudamah said (in his version: "With his right hands".

The Prophet (saws) said: The warrior gets his reward, and the one who equips him gets his own reward and that of the warrior.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: A vow is binding in those things by which the pleasure of Allah is sought, and an oath to break ties of relationship is not binding.

The Prophet (saws) said: You hear (from me), and others will hear from you; and people will hear from them who heard from you.

The food the Messenger of Allah (saws) liked best was tharid made from bread and tharid made from Hays.

Abu Dawud said: It is a weak (tradition).

The Messenger of Allah (saws) came to visit us and we offered him butter and dates, for he liked butter and dates.

When I came to the Prophet (saws), he was sitting with his hands round his knees wearing the cloak the fringe of which was over his feet.

The Prophet (saws) said: Hanging down is in lower garment, shirt and turban. If anyone trails any of them conceitedly, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.

The Prophet (saws) had a man's hand cut off who had stolen from the place reserved for women a shield whose price was three dirhams.

The Prophet (saws) said: None of my Companions must tell me anything about anyone, for I like to come out to you with no ill-feelings.

'Abdullah b. Shakhkhir narrated it on the authority of his father that he said prayer with the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him), and he spat and then rubbed it off with his left shoe.
