Sahih Muslim 1143 b

Muhammad b. 'Abbas b. Ja'far reported that he asked Jabir b. Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them), whether he had heard like this from the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him).

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ، بْنُ جُبَيْرِ بْنِ شَيْبَةَ أَنَّهُ أَخْبَرَهُ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبَّادِ بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، أَنَّهُ سَأَلَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ - رضى الله عنهما - بِمِثْلِهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم ‏.‏

Abu Huraira (Allah be pleased with him) reported the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) as saying:

None among you should observe fast on Friday, but only that he observes fast before it and after it.

If anyone dies in a state (that he had to complete) some fasts, his heir must fast on his behalf.

وَحَدَّثَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الأَيْلِيُّ، وَأَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ الْحَارِثِ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ أَبِي جَعْفَرٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، - رضى الله عنها - أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ ‏ "‏ مَنْ مَاتَ وَعَلَيْهِ صِيَامٌ صَامَ عَنْهُ وَلِيُّهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:

He who is anxious to seek it (Lailat-ul-Qadr) should seek it in the last ten (nights of Ramadan).

وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ جَبَلَةَ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ، - رضى الله عنهما - يُحَدِّثُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم أَنَّهُ قَالَ ‏ "‏ مَنْ كَانَ مُلْتَمِسَهَا فَلْيَلْتَمِسْهَا فِي الْعَشْرِ الأَوَاخِرِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “After I am gone there will be a dispute or something; if you can adopt a peaceful stance, then do so.”

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي بَكْرٍ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ يَعْنِي النُّمَيْرِيَّ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ إِيَاسِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو الْأَسْلَمِيِّ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِنَّهُ سَيَكُونُ بَعْدِي اخْتِلَافٌ أَوْ أَمْرٌ فَإِنْ اسْتَطَعْتَ أَنْ تَكُونَ السِّلْمَ فَافْعَلْ‏.‏

Suwaid b. Ghafala reported:

I saw Umar (Allah be pleased with him) kissing the Stone and clinging to it and saying: I saw Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) having great love for you.

Let dinar be exchanged for dinar, with no addition on either side and dirham be exchanged for dirham with no addition on either side.

Narrated 'Ali bin Abi Talib:

"I was with the Prophet (SAW) in Makkah. We departed to one of its suburbs, and no mountain or tree was before him, except that it said: 'Peace be upon you O Messenger of Allah.'"

حَدَّثَنَا عَبَّادُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ الْكُوفِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا الْوَلِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ، عَنْ عَبَّادِ بْنِ أَبِي يَزِيدَ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم بِمَكَّةَ فَخَرَجْنَا فِي بَعْضِ نَوَاحِيهَا فَمَا اسْتَقْبَلَهُ جَبَلٌ وَلاَ شَجَرٌ إِلاَّ وَهُوَ يَقُولُ السَّلاَمُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ‏.‏ قَالَ هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ ‏.‏ وَرَوَى غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَوْرٍ وَقَالُوا عَنْ عَبَّادٍ أَبِي يَزِيدَ مِنْهُمْ فَرْوَةُ بْنُ أَبِي الْمَغْرَاءِ ‏.‏

"Allah’s Messenger said (Allah bless him and give him peace): “You must apply antimony before going to sleep, for it clears the vision and makes the eyelashes grow.”

حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، عَنْ جَابِرٍ هُوَ ابْنُ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ‏:‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ عَلَيْكُمْ بِالإِثْمِدِ عِنْدَ النَّوْمِ، فَإِنَّهُ يَجْلُو الْبَصَرَ، وَيُنْبِتُ الشَّعْرَ‏.‏

حَدَّثَنَا هَنَّادٌ، وَمَحْمُودُ بْنُ غَيْلانَ، قَالا‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، عَنْ زَكَرِيَّا بْنِ أَبِي زَائِدَةَ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ، قَالَ‏:‏ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم‏:‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيَرْضَى عَنِ الْعَبْدِ أَنْ يَأْكُلَ الأَكْلَةَ، أَوْ يَشْرَبَ الشَّرْبَةَ فَيَحْمَدَهُ عَلَيْهَا‏.‏

'Abdu’llah said:

"Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to fast three days at the beginning of every month, and he would seldom break fast on Friday, the Day of the Congregation [jumuah].”

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ الْكُوفِيُّ، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللهِ بْنُ مُوسَى، وَطَلْقُ بْنُ غَنَّامٍ، عَنْ شَيْبَانَ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرِّ بْنُ حُبَيْشٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللهِ، قَالَ‏:‏ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم، يَصُومُ مِنْ غُرَّةِ كُلِّ شَهْرٍ ثَلاثَةَ أَيَامٍ، وَقَلَّمَا كَانَ يُفْطِرُ يَوْمَ الْجُمُعَةِ‏.‏

Abu Huraira said:

"The Prophet said (Allah bless him and give him peace): “Works are reviewed on Monday and Thursday, so I would like my work to be reviewed while I am fasting!”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ‏:‏ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ، عَنْ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم، قَالَ‏:‏ تُعْرَضُ الأَعْمَالُ يَوْمَ الاثْنَيْنِ وَالْخَمِيسِ، فَأُحِبُّ أَنْ يُعْرَضَ عَمَلِي وَأَنَا صَائِمٌ‏.‏

Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) pronounced Talbiya in Dhu'l-Hulaifa as he put his feet in the stirrup and his camel stood up and proceeded.

Ibn Abbas (Allah be pleased with them) reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) sent eighteen sacrificial camels with a person. The rest of the hadith is the same, and the first part (of the above-mentioned hadith) is not mentioned.

Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying:

A woman should not set out on three (days' journey) except when she has a Mahram with her.

Anas b. Malik reported a hadith like this from Allah's Apostle (may peace be upon him) except with this variation that he said:

" I declare sacred the area between its two lava mountains."

That which is between my house" and my pulpit is a garden from the gardens of Paradise.

Jabir b. Abdullah (Allah be pleased with them) is reported to have said that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) forbade the sale of a heap of dates the weight of which is unknown in accordance with the known weight of dates.

Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (Allah be pleased with him) reported Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) having forbidden Mazabana and Muhaqala. Muzibana means the buying of fruits on the trees and Muhaqala is the renting of land.

وَحَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ، عَنْ دَاوُدَ بْنِ الْحُصَيْنِ، أَنَّ أَبَا سُفْيَانَ، مَوْلَى ابْنِ أَبِي أَحْمَدَ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّهُ، سَمِعَ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ، يَقُولُ نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَنِ الْمُزَابَنَةِ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةِ ‏.‏ وَالْمُزَابَنَةُ اشْتِرَاءُ الثَّمَرِ فِي رُءُوسِ النَّخْلِ ‏.‏ وَالْمُحَاقَلَةُ كِرَاءُ الأَرْضِ ‏.‏
