"Allah's Messenger (S) would pray eleven Rak'ah at night, making them off with one. When he finished them he would lay down on his right side."

From his father, about 'Aishah that: "She would walk in one sandal."

This is more correct. [Abu 'Eisa said:] This is how it was reported by Sufyan Ath-Thawri and others, from 'Abdur-Rahman bin Al-Qasim, in Mawquf form, and this is more correct.

That the Prophet (saws) was asked about Bit' so he said: "All drinks that intoxicate are unlawful."

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

“I heard the Messenger of Allah (saws) saying at his death: ‘O Allah, forgive me and have mercy on me, and join me with the Highest Company (Allāhummaghfirlī warḥamnī wa alḥiqnī bir-rafīqil a`lā).’”

"It was said: 'O Messenger of Allah! Who is the most beloved of the people to you?' He said: ''Aishah.' It was said: 'From the men?' He said: 'Her father.'"

I asked the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) about pestilence and he said, "It is a punishment which Allah sends upon whomsoever He wills, but Allah has made it as a mercy to the believers. Anyone who remains in a town which is plagued with pestilence maintaining patience expecting the reward from Allah, and knowing that nothing will befall him other than what Allah has foreordained for him, he would receive a reward of Shaheed".

[Al-Bukhari].

The Prophet (PBUH) would stand (in prayer) so long that the skin of his feet would crack. I asked him, "Why do you do this while your past and future sins have been forgiven?" He said, "Should I not be a grateful slave of Allah?"

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

A begger asked 'Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) for charity and she gave him a piece of bread. Thereafter, one well-dressed person asked her for charity and she invited him to sit down and served him food. When she was asked about the reason for the difference in treatment, she said: "Messenger of Allah (PBUH) instructed us: 'Treat people according to their status".

[Abu Dawud].

Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "When Allah desires good for a ruler, He appoints for him a sincere adviser who will remind him if he forgets and helps him if he remembers. When Allah wishes for him the contrary, He appoints for him a bad adviser who will not remind him if he forgets, nor will he help him if he remembers."

[Abu-Dawud].

"The Messenger of Allah (SAW) said when bowing and prostrating: 'Subbuhun Quddusun Rabbul-mala'ikati war'ruh (Perfect, Most Holy, Lord of the Angels and the Spirit)."

"The black people came and played in front of the Prophet (SAW) on the day of 'Eid. He called me and I watched them from over his shoulder, and I continued to watch them until I was the one who moved away."

"The Messenger of Allah said: "There are five animals all of which are vermin and may be killed inside the sanctuary: Crow, kites, vicious dogs, mice and scorpions.'"

"There are five kinds of vermin which may be killed out and inside the Haram: Snakes, vicious dogs, speckled Crows, kites, and mice."

"I used to put perfume on the Messenger of Allah when he entered Ihram, using the best perfume I could find.

"I put perfume on the Messenger of Allah for his Ihram before he entered Ihram, and for his exiting Ihram when he exited Ihram.''

"The month which the Messenger of Allah most liked to fast was Shaban; indeed he used to join it to Ramadan."

"I heard 'Aishah say: The Messenger of Allah said: 'What becomes unlawful (for marriage) through breast-feeding is that which becomes unlawful through birth.'"

"When the Verses of Riba were revealed, the Messenger of Allah (saws) stood up on the Minbar and recited them to the people, then he forbade dealing in wine."

she heard the Messenger of Allah say: "The hand of the thief is not be cut off except for one-quarter of a Dinar or more."

"The hand of a thief is not to be cut off except for one-quarter of a Dinar or more."

"The Messenger of Allah [SAW] used to like to start in the right. He would accept with his right hand and give with his right hand, and he liked to start on the right in all his affairs."

"It is not permissible for a woman who believes in Allah and the Last Day to mourn for more than three days, except for her husband."

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him, and whoever vows to disobey Allah, let him not disobey Him.'"

"I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Whoever vows to obey Allah, let him obey Him, and whoever vows to disobey Allah, let him not disobey Him.'"

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'There is no vow to commit an act of disobedience, and its expiation is the expiation for an oath.'"

"The Messenger of Allah (S.A.W) said: 'Bilal calls the Adhan during the night, so eat and drink until Ibn Umm Maktum calls the Adhan." She said: "And there was no more between than the time it takes for one to come down and the other to go up."

"When any one of you goes to the Gha'it (toilet to defecate), let him take with him three stones and clean himself with them, for that will suffice him."

"I was a man who had a lot of prostatic discharge, so I told 'Ammar bin Yasir to ask the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) (about it) because his daughter was married to me. He said: 'Wudu' is sufficient for that.'"

"If the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) wanted to sleep while he was Junub, he would perform Wudu' as for prayer before sleeping."

"The Prophet (PBUH) would put his head out for me while he was performing I'tikaf [1] and I would wash it, when I was menstruating." [1] Mujawir ("next door") here means while performing I'tikaf.

"Umm Habibah bint Jahsh asked the Messenger of Allah (PBUH): 'O Messenger of Allah, I suffer from Istihadah.' He said: 'That is a vein, so perform Ghusl, then pray.' And she used to perform Ghusl for each prayer."

"The Prophet (PBUH) used to like to start with the right as much as he could when purifying himself, putting on sandals and combing his hair" - and he (the narrator) said in Wasit (a place in Iraq): "And in all his affairs."

"There are two prayers that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) never neglected to pray them in my house secretly nor publicly: Two Rak'ahs before Fajr and two Rak'ahs after 'Asr."

“Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to love tayammun [beginning with his right hand, his right side and his right foot] in his ritual purification when he purified himself, in his combing when he combed his hair, and putting on his shoes when he donned them.”

“The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to drink while standing.”

"Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) would not speak on and on the way you do. Rather, he would pause periodically, so that those who sat with him would remember what he said.”

"Was Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to imitating any form of poetry?" She said: "He used to imitate the poetry of Ibn Rawaha, and he would imitate his saying: “You will be brought the news by someone whom you have not furnished with travel provisions.”

"I did not see Allah’s Messenger (Allah bless him and give him peace) fast in any month more than his fasting for Allah’s sake in Sha'ban. He used to keep fast through all but a little of Sha'ban; no indeed, he used to keep fast through all of it!”

The Prophet (saws) used his right hand for getting water for ablution and taking food, and his left hand for his evacuation and for anything repugnant.

When I menstruated, I left the bed and lay on the reed-mat and did not approach or come near the Messenger of Allah (saws) until we were purified.

Dhakwan, the client of Aisha, reported on the authority of Aisha: The Messenger of Allah (saws) used to pray after the afternoon prayer but prohibited others from it; and he would fast continuously but forbid others to do so.

AbdulAziz ibn Jurayj said: I asked Aisha, mother of the believers: With which (surah) the Messenger of Allah (saws) used to observe witr? (She reported same as in the Hadith of Ubayy ibn Ka'b, No. 1418)

This version adds: In the third rak'ah he would recite: "Say, He is Allah, the One" (Surah 112), and "Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak" (Surah 113), and "Say, I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind" (Surah 114).

Aisha counted a number of indigents. AbuDawud said: The other version has: She counted a number of sadaqahs. The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: Give and do not calculate, so calculation will be made against you.

Riders would pass us when we accompanied the Messenger of Allah (saws) while we were in the sacred state (wearing ihram). When they came by us, one of us would let down her outer garment from her head over her face, and when they had passed on, we would uncover our faces.

Raisins were steeped for the Messenger of Allah (saws) and then dried dates were infused in them, or dried dates were steeped and then raisins were infused in them.

Khalid said: AbuZiyad Khiyar ibn Salamah asked Aisha about onions. She replied: The last food which the Messenger of Allah (saws) ate was some which contained onions.

Asma daughther of 'Umais gave birth to Muhammad bin Abi Bakr at Shajarah. The Messenger of Allah (saws) commanded Abu Bakr to ask her to take a bath and wear ihram.

I twisted the garlands of the sacrificial animals of the Messenger of Allah (SWAS) with my own hands, after which he made incision in their humps and garlanded them, and sent them as offerings to the house (Kabah), but he himself stayed back at Madinah and nothing which had been lawful for him had been forbidden.

the wife of Prophet (saws) said: When the Messenger of Allah (saws) suffered from some pain, he recited mu'awwadhat in his heart and blew (them over him). When the pain became severe, I recited (them) over him and wiped him with his hand in the hope of its blessing.

Gabriel gives you a greeting. Replying she said: Upon him be peace and grace of Allah.

The revelation came down to Messenger of Allah (saws) and he recited to is: "A surah which We have sent down and which We have ordained (faradnaha)"

Abu Dawud said: The letter ra (r) is the word faradnaha has short vowel a (with out doubling of consonant r), and then he reached the verses after this verse.

‘A’ishah reported the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) as saying the people will continue to keep themselves away from the front row until Allah will keep them away (from the front) in the Hell-fire.

That the Prophet (saws) used to accept a gift and make return for it.

When Zaid b. Harithah, Ja'far and 'Abd Allah b. Rawahah were killed, the Messenger of Allah (saws) sat down in the mosque and grief was visible in his face. Then he (the narrator) mentioned the rest of the tradition.

The Prophet (saws) as saying: If anyone dies when some fast due from him has been unfulfilled, his heir must fast on his behalf.

I used to sleep with my legs in front of the Messenger of Allah (saws) when he would offer his prayer at night (i.e. tahajjud prayer offered towards the end of the night.). When he prostrated himself he struck my legs, and I drew them up and he then prostrated.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) used to pray eleven rak'ahs (at night, observing the witr with one rak'ahs). When he finished it (the prayer), he would lie down on his right side.

I asked the Messenger of Allah(may peace be upon him) about looking to the sides during prayer. He said: It is something which the devil snatches from a servant’s prayers.

I used to rub off the semen from the clothe of the Messenger of Allah (saws). He would would pray in it.

Abu Dawud said: Mughirah, Abu Ma'shar, and Wasil also narrated it to the same effect.

When the Prophet (saws) uttered taslim, he used to say: "O Allah, You are As-Salam, and from you is As-Salam. You are blessed, O One of Magnificence and Generosity."

Umm Habibah had a prolonged flow of blood for seven years. The Messenger of Allah (saws) commanded her to take bath; so she used to take bath for every prayer.

When the Messenger of Allah (saws) observed I'tikaf, he would put his head near me, and I would comb it. and he entered the house only to fulfill human needs (i.e. to urinate or to relieve himself).

The Messenger of Allah (saws) used to observe I'tikaf in the mosque and put his head near me through the opening of the apartment, and I would wash his head. Musaddad said: "And I would comb it while I was menstruating."

The people used to attend the Friday prayer from their houses and from the suburbs of Medina.

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'O Allah! Strengthen Islam with 'Umar bin Khattab in particular.'"

''Aishah said to me: 'O 'Urwah, your two fathers were of those who answered (the Call of) Allah and the Messenger (Muhammed) after being wounded," (they were) Abu Bakr and Zubair.''

"I said to 'Aishah: 'Tell me, what was the first thing that the Messenger of Allah did when he entered upon you?' She said: 'The first thing he would do would be to use the tooth stick.'"

"The Messenger of Allah and I used to perform ablution from a single vessel, when the cat had drunk from it beforehand."

"I often scraped it (semen) from the garment of the Messenger of Allah with my hand."

"The Messenger of Allah would not perform ablution after the bath to cleanse himself from sexual impurity."

The Prophet said to her, when she was menstruating: "Undo your braids and bathe." (Sahih)(A narrator) 'Ali said in his narration: "Undo your head."

The Prophet said: "Allah does not accept the prayer of a woman who menstruates (i.e., an adult woman) except with a head cover."

"The believing women used to perform the Subh prayer with the Prophet, then they would go back to their families and no one would recognize them," meaning of the darkness.

The Messenger of Allah commanded that mosque to be built in (Ad-Dur) villages, and that they be purified and perfumed.

"Jibrail send (greetings of) Salam to you." She said: "Wa 'alahisalam wa rahmatullah (and upon him be peace and mercy of Allah)."

that the Prophet said: “Announce this marriage, and beat the sieve for it.”

“He used to fast all of Sha’ban, until he joined it to Ramadan.”

“One of the wives of the Messenger of Allah (saw) observed I’tikaf with him, and she used to see red and yellow discharge, and sometime she would put a basin beneath her.”

“The Messenger of Allah (saw) prayed in a Khamisah* that had markings on it. Then he said: ‘These markings distracted me. Take it to Abu Jahm and bring me an Anbijaniyyah.’”**

“I used to part the hair of the Messenger of Allah (saw) behind his crown, and let his forelock hang down.”

It was narrated from ‘Aishah the Mother of the Believers that the Messenger of Allah (saw) performed Hajj Ifrad.

It was narrated from ‘Aishah that Sawdah bint Zam’ah was a slow- moving woman, so she asked the Messenger of Allah (saw) for permission to depart from Jam’ ahead of the people, and he gave her permission.

“The Jews do not envy you for anything more than they envy you for the Salam and (saying) ‘Amin’.”

“If food is ready and the Iqamah is being given, then start with the food.”

“The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: ‘Allah and His angels send blessings upon those who complete the rows, and whoever fills a gap, Allah will raise him one degree in status thereby.’”

It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said the Takbir seven and five times in (the prayer for ‘Eid) Fitr and Adha, apart from the Takbir for Ruku’ (bowing).

“Allahumma aj’alhu sayyiban hani’an (O Allah, make it a wholesome rain cloud).”

Mu'adha al-‘Adawiya said she asked ‘A'isha whether God’s messenger used to fast three days every month, and she replied that he did. She asked which days in the month he fasted, and she replied that he did not care which days of the month he fasted. Muslim transmitted it.

She said that the sunna for one who is observing a period of private devotion in a mosque is not to visit an invalid, or attend a funeral, or touch or embrace one’s wife, or go out for anything but necessary purposes. There is no period of private devotion in a mosque without fasting, and it must be carried out in a congregational mosque. Abu Dawud transmitted it.

I saw the Prophet when he was dying. He had a drinking-cup containing water, and he would put his hand into the cup, then wipe his face, then say, “O God, help me to bear the evils of death,” or, “the pangs of death.” Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

I used to enter my house in which God’s messenger was and put off my garment, saying that only my husband and my father were there; but when ‘Umar was buried along with them, I swear by God that I did not enter it without having my clothes wrapped round me owing to modesty regarding ‘Umar. (The tradition refers to the time after the death of the Prophet and Abu Bakr who were buried in ‘A’isha’s house. When 'Umar died he was buried beside them. As ‘A’isha was not related to him she felt she must observe the usual conventions regarding men who were not near relatives, even although ‘Umar was dead, for it evidently seemed to her as if he were really in the house.) Ahmad transmitted it.

a sleeper till he awakes, a boy till he reaches puberty, and an idiot till he is restored to reason.” Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it. Darimi transmitted it on the authority of 'A’isha, and Ibn Majah on the authority of both (i.e. ‘Ali and ‘A’isha’)

I used to perfume God’s messenger with a perfume containing musk preparatory to his entering the sacred state before he put on the ihram, and when he put off the ihram, before he made the circuits round the House. I still seem to see the glistening of the perfume where the hair was parted on God’s messenger’s head while he was wearing the ihram. Bukhari and Muslim.

‘A'isha reported God’s messenger as saying, “An army will set out to attack the Ka'ba, but in an extensive desert the first and last of them will be swallowed up.” She asked how the first and last of them would be swallowed up when among them there would be markets and people who were not of their number, to which he replied, “The first and last of them will be swallowed up, then they will be resurrected in a state agreeing with their intentions.” Bukhari and Muslim.

‘A’isha said, “When God’s Messenger was praying voluntary prayers with his door bolted I came and asked to have the door opened, and he went and opened it for me, then returned to his place of prayer.” She mentioned that the door faced the qibla. Ahmad, Abu Dawud and Tirmidhi transmitted it, and Nasa’i transmitted something similar.

'A'isha reported that the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Kinship (rahim) is derived from Allah. If anyone maintains ties of kinship Allah maintains ties with him. If anyone cuts them off, Allah cuts him off."

It is related that 'Ikrima said, "I asked 'A'isha, 'Did you ever hear the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, quoting poetry?' She replied, 'Sometimes when he entered a house, he would say, "News will come to you from someone you do not furnish with travel provisions."*'"

'A'isha said, "Prophet of Allah, will you not give me a kunya?" He said, "Use the kunya of your son," i.e. 'Abdullah ibn az-Zubayr. She was given the kunya Umm 'Abdullah.

'Alqama ibn Abi 'Alqama reported from his mother that 'A'isha, may Allah be pleased with her, heard that some people living in a room in her house had a backgammon game. She sent to them, saying, "If you do not remove it, I will evict you from my house." He censured them for playing that.

A’ishah (RAA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “When a woman gives some of the foodstuff (which she has in her house) in charity without being extravagant (without being wasteful), she will receive the reward for what she has spent, and her husband will receive the reward because of his earning, and the keeper (if any) will be similarly rewarded. The reward of one will not decrease the reward of the others.” Agreed upon.
