'Alaqama went to Sham and came to the mosque and offered a two-rak`at prayer, and invoked Allah: "O Allah! Bless me with a (pious) good companion." So he sat beside Abu Ad-Darda' who asked, "From where are you?" He said, "From the people of Kufa." Abu Darda' said, "Wasn't there among you the person who keeps the secrets (of the Prophet ) which nobody knew except him (i.e., Hudhaifa (bin Al-Yaman)). And isn't there among you the person whom Allah gave refuge from Satan through the request (tongue) of Allah's Apostle? (i.e., `Ammar). Isn't there among you the one who used to carry the Siwak and the cushion (or pillows (of the Prophets)? (i.e., Ibn Mas`ud). How did Ibn Mas`ud use to recite 'By the night as it conceals (the light)?" (Sura 92). 'Alqama said, "Wadhdhakari Wal Untha' (And by male and female.") Abu Ad-Darda added. 'These people continued to argue with me regarding it till they were about to cause me to have doubts although I heard it from Allah's Apostle."

"The Messenger of Allah (saws) entered upon me and said: 'Do you have anything?' I said: 'No, except a piece of hard bread and vinegar.' so he said: 'Bring it, for a house that has vinegar is not impoverished of condiments."

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Gharib from this route. We do not know of it as a Hadith of Umm Hani' except through this route. Abu Hamzah Ath-Thumali's (a narrator in the chain) name is Thabit bin Abi Safiyyah. And Umm Hani' died some time after 'Ali bin Abi Talib. I asked Muhammad about this Hadith. He said: "I do not know Ash-Sha'bi hearing from Umm Hani'." So I said: "How is Abu Hamzah according to you?" He said: "Ahmad bin Hanbal criticized him, but he is Muqarib (average) in Hadith to me."

When we alighted at a station (for stay), we did not pray until we united the saddles of the camels.

When the Prophet (saws) returned to Medina, he would slaughter a camel or a cow.

This hadith has been narrated from the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) through another chain of transmitters.

Anas reported that the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) observed prayer on the grave.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Anas through another chain of transmitters.

The Prophet said, "Al-Kam'a is like the Mann (sweet resin or gum) (in that it grows naturally without human care) and its water is a cure for the eye diseases."

who was one of the companions of the tree (those who swore allegiance to the Prophet beneath the tree at Al-Hudaibiya):

I learnt, 'Glorify the Name of your Lord the Most High' (Surat al-A'la) No 87, before the Prophet came (to Medina) .

The Prophet forbade An-Nuhba and Al-Muthla.

Solar eclipse occurred on the day of Ibrahim's death (the Prophet's son).

The Prophet said, "Do not abuse the dead, for they have reached the result of what they have done."

The Prophet said, " If somebody dies (among the Muslims) leaving some property, the property will go to his heirs; and if he leaves a debt or dependants, we will take care of them."

I used to pray the `Isha prayer with the Prophet and then go to lead my people in the prayer.

The Prophet was on a journey and recited in one of the first two rak`at of the `Isha' prayer "Wa t-teeni wa z-zaitun." (95)

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Anas through another chain of transmitters.

A similar tradition has been narrated on the authority of al-A'mash.

This hadith has been reported on the authority of Abu Bishr with the same chain of transmitters.

The Prophet said, "I have been made victorious with the Saba (i.e. easterly wind) and the people of 'Ad were destroyed with the Dabur (i.e. westerly wind) ."

The Prophet said, "There is always goodness in horses."

The Prophet slaughtered two rams, black and white in color (as sacrifices), and I saw him putting his foot on their sides and mentioning Allah's Name and Takbir (Allahu Akbar). Then he slaughtered them with his own hands.

I heard the Prophet saying, "Do not revert to disbelief after me by striking (cutting) the necks of one another."

The same tradition has been narrated through another chain of transmitters on the same authority.

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Yahya with a slight change of wording.

Once the Prophet went to the dumps of some people and passed urine while standing. He then asked for water and so I brought it to him and he performed ablution.

Prior to the construction of the mosque, the Prophet offered the prayers at sheep-folds.

It is as if I am just looking at the glitter of scent in the parting of the Prophet's head hair while he was a Muhrim.

I helped the Prophet in performing ablution and he passed his wet hands over his Khuffs and prayed.

The Prophet prayed seven rak`at together and eight rak`at together.

The Prophet said, "Listen and obey (your chief) even if an Ethiopian whose head is like a raisin were made your chief."

The Prophet said, "The real patience is at the first stroke of a calamity."

This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Ya'la.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Shu'ba with the same chain of transmitters, but did not mention tht doubt (expressed in his statement) That is (the goat of less than a year) is better than a goat of more than one year.

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Shu'ba with the same chain of transmitters and they did not doubt about keeping the dates between his fingers (as is expressed in the previous hadith).

Whenever we went up a place we would say Takbir, and whenever we went down we would say, "Subhan Allah."

The Prophet said, "I give to Quraish people in order to let them adhere to Islam, for they are near to their life of Ignorance (i.e. they have newly embraced Islam and it is still not strong in their hearts."
