Sunan Ibn Majah 200
It was narrated that Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri said:
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Allah smiles at three things: a row in the prayer, a man who prays in the depths of the night, and a man who fights' I think he said, 'behind the battalion.'"
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، عَنْ مُجَالِدٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَدَّاكِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ
" إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَيَضْحَكُ إِلَى ثَلاَثَةٍ لِلصَّفِّ فِي الصَّلاَةِ وَلِلرَّجُلِ يُصَلِّي فِي جَوْفِ اللَّيْلِ وَلِلرَّجُلِ يُقَاتِلُ - أُرَاهُ قَالَ - خَلْفَ الْكَتِيبَةِ " .

It was narrated that 'Uthman bin 'Affan said that:
The Messenger of Allah said: (According to one of the narrators) Shu'bah (he) said: 'The best of you' (and according to) Sufyan (he) said: "The most excellent of you is the one who learns the Qur'an and teaches it."

It was narrated that 'Ali said:
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'The screen between the Jinn and the nakedness of the sons of Adam is that when a person enters the Kanif, he should say: Bismillah (in the name of Allah).'"

It was narrated that Abu Hurairah said:
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'When anyone of you cleans himself, he should not clean himself with his right hand. Let him clean himself with his left hand.'"

It was narrated that Jabir bin 'Abdullah said:
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Beware of stopping to rest and praying in the middle of the road, for it is the refuge of snakes and carnivorous animals, and beware of relieving yourselves in the middle of the road, for this is an act that provokes curses.'"
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ زُهَيْرٍ، قَالَ قَالَ سَالِمٌ سَمِعْتُ الْحَسَنَ، يَقُولُ حَدَّثَنَا جَابِرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ
" إِيَّاكُمْ وَالتَّعْرِيسَ عَلَى جَوَادِّ الطَّرِيقِ وَالصَّلاَةَ عَلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهَا مَأْوَى الْحَيَّاتِ وَالسِّبَاعِ وَقَضَاءَ الْحَاجَةِ عَلَيْهَا فَإِنَّهَا مِنَ الْمَلاَعِنِ " .

'Abdullah bin 'Amr said:
"The Messenger of Allah saw some people performing ablution, and their heels were dry. He said: 'Woe to the heels because of Hell-fire, perform ablution properly!'"

Sunan Ibn Majah 502
'Urwah bin Az-Subair narrated from 'Aishah, that:
The Messenger of Allah kissed one of his women (i.e., wives), then he went to perform the prayer, and he did not perform ablution. I ('Urwah bin Zubair) said: "That was not anyone but you,' and she smiled."

It was narrated that Abu Umamah Al-Bahili said:
"The Messenger of Allah said: 'Water is not made impure by anything except that which changes its smell, taste and color.'"

It was narrated that Umm Qais bint Mihsan said:
"I came to the Messenger of Allah with a son of mine who was not yet eating solid food, and he (the baby) urinated on him. He called for water and sprinkled it over (the urine)."

It was narrated that Anas bin Malik said:
"I was with the Messenger of Allah on a journey, and he said: 'Is there any water?' He performed ablution and wiped over his leather socks, then he joined the army and led them (in prayer)."

" هَلْ مِنْ مَاءٍ " . فَتَوَضَّأَ وَمَسَحَ عَلَى خُفَّيْهِ ثُمَّ لَحِقَ بِالْجَيْشِ فَأَمَّهُمْ .

Sunan Ibn Majah 762
It was narrated from Anas that:
The Prophet saw some sputum in the prayer direction of the mosque and he became so angry that his face turned red. Then a woman from among the Ansar came and scraped it off, and put some Khaluq on that spot. The Messenger of Allah said: "How good this is."
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ طَرِيفٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَائِذُ بْنُ حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ رَأَى نُخَامَةً فِي قِبْلَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ فَغَضِبَ حَتَّى احْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ فَجَاءَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ فَحَكَّتْهَا وَجَعَلَتْ مَكَانَهَا خَلُوقًا فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ
" مَا أَحْسَنَ هَذَا " .

It was narrated that Abu Dharr said:
"The Messenger of Allah (saas) said to me: "Shall I not tell you of a treasure which is one of the treasures of Paradise?' I said: 'Yes, O Messenger of Allah.' He said: 'La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah (There is no power and no strength except with Allah).'" (sahih)

It was narrated that Hudhaifah said:
"I was harsh in the way I spoke to my family, but not to others. I mentioned that to the Prophet (saas) and he said: 'Why don't you ask for forgiveness? Ask Allah to forgive you, seventy times each day.'"
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُغِيرَةِ، عَنْ حُذَيْفَةَ، قَالَ كَانَ فِي لِسَانِي ذَرَبٌ عَلَى أَهْلِي وَكَانَ لاَ يَعْدُوهُمْ إِلَى غَيْرِهِمْ فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ فَقَالَ
" أَيْنَ أَنْتَ مِنَ الاِسْتِغْفَارِ تَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ فِي الْيَوْمِ سَبْعِينَ مَرَّةً " .

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that the Messenger of Allah(SAW) said:
"The truest of wods spoken by the poet are the words of Labid: Everything except Allah is false.' And Abu Umayyah bin Abu Salt nearly accepted Islam."

" أَصْدَقُ كَلِمَةٍ قَالَهَا الشَّاعِرُ كَلِمَةُ لَبِيدٍ أَلاَ كُلُّ شَىْءٍ مَا خَلاَ اللَّهَ بَاطِلُ وَكَادَ أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ أَبِي الصَّلْتِ أَنْ يُسْلِمَ " .

"I am riding to the Jews tomorrow. Do not initiate the greeting with them, and if they greet you, then say: Wa 'alaikum (and also upon you)".

Sunan Ibn Majah 2060
It was narrated from Aishah that:
the Messenger of Allah (SAW) swore to keep away from his wives, because Zainab had sent back her gift and 'Aishah said: "She has disgraced you." He became angry and swore to keep away from them.

Sunan Ibn Majah 2263
It was narrated from 'Alqamah bin 'Abdullah that his father said:
"The Messenger of Allah (SAW) forbade breaking the coins of the Muslims that are in circulation among them, without any necessary reason.”(1)

It was narrated from Abu Qatadah that the Messenger of Allah (SAW), said:
"Beware of swearing oaths when selling, for it may help you to make a sale but it destroys the blessing."'

It was narrated that Abu Umamah said:
"The Messenger of Allah, forbade selling or buying singing girls, and their wages, and consuming their price."

Sunan Ibn Majah 2297
It was narrated that 'Umair, the freed slave of Aabi Lahm, said:
"My master used to give me food and I would feed others from it, then he stopped me," or he said: "He beat me. So I asked the Prophet,” -or- "he asked him and I said: 'I will not stop.' He said: 'Both of you will be rewarded."'

Sunan Ibn Majah 2345
It was narrated from 'Imran bin Husain that :
a man had six slaves, and he did not have any other wealth apart from them, and he set them free when he died. The Messenger of Allah (SAW) divided them into groups, set two free and left four as slaves.
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، وَمُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى، حَدَّثَنَا خَالِدٌ الْحَذَّاءُ، عَنْ أَبِي قِلاَبَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي الْمُهَلَّبِ، عَنْ عِمْرَانَ بْنِ حُصَيْنٍ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، كَانَ لَهُ سِتَّةُ مَمْلُوكِينَ لَيْسَ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ فَأَعْتَقَهُمْ عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ فَجَزَّأَهُمْ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَعْتَقَ اثْنَيْنِ وَأَرَقَّ أَرْبَعَةً .

'Abdullah bin 'Abbas narrated that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said:
“The likeness of the one who gives charity then takes it back is that of a dog who vomits then goes back and eats its vomit.”

“Every division that was allocated according to (the rules of) the Ignorance days, stands as it is, and every division that was allocated according to (the rules of) Islam, stands according to the rules of Islam.”

It was narrated that 'Abdul-Malik bin `Umair said:
“I heard 'Atiyyah Al-Quradhi say: 'We were presented to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) on the Day of Quraidhah. Those whose pubic hair had grown were killed, and those whose pubic hair had not yet grown were let go. I was one of those whose pubic hair had not yet grown, so I was let go.”

It was narrated from Mu'awiyah bin Qurrah that his father said:
“The Messenger of Allah (SAW) sent me to a man who had married his father's wife after he died, to strike his neck (execute him) and confiscate his wealth.”

It was narrated from 'Imran bin Husain that a :
man bit another man on his forearm; he pulled away his arm away and the man’s tooth fell out. The matter was referred to Prophet (SAW) who invalidated it and said: 'Would one of you bite (another) like a stallion?'”

" يَقْضَمُ أَحَدُكُمْ كَمَا يَقْضَمُ الْفَحْلُ " .

Abu Darda said:
“I heard the Messenger of Allah (SAW) say: 'There is no man who suffers some (injury) on his body and forgives (the perpetrator), but Allah (SWT) will raise him one degree in status thereby, or erase from him one sin.'My own ears heard it and my heart memorized it.”
حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّفَرِ، قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ
" مَا مِنْ رَجُلٍ يُصَابُ بِشَىْءٍ مِنْ جَسَدِهِ فَيَتَصَدَّقُ بِهِ إِلاَّ رَفَعَهُ اللَّهُ بِهِ دَرَجَةً أَوْ حَطَّ عَنْهُ بِهِ خَطِيئَةً " . سَمِعَتْهُ أُذُنَاىَ وَوَعَاهُ قَلْبِي .

It was narrated from Abu Hurairah that a man asked the Messenger of Allah (SAW):
“My father died and left behind wealth, but he did not make a will. Will it expiate for him if I give charity on his behalf?” He said: “Yes.”
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مَرْوَانَ، مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ الْعُثْمَانِيُّ حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي حَازِمٍ، عَنِ الْعَلاَءِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَجُلاً، سَأَلَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ إِنَّ أَبِي مَاتَ وَتَرَكَ مَالاً وَلَمْ يُوصِ فَهَلْ يُكَفِّرُ عَنْهُ أَنْ تَصَدَّقْتُ عَنْهُ قَالَ
" نَعَمْ " .

‘When it is the middle of Sha’ban, do not fast until Ramadan
comes.”

It was
narrated from ‘Abdullah bin ‘Umar that the Messenger of Allah
(saw) said:
“Whatever division of inheritance was made during the
Ignorance period, stands according to the division of the Ignorance
period, and whatever division of inheritance was made during Islam,
it
stands according to the division of Islam.”
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رُمْحٍ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ لَهِيعَةَ، عَنْ عُقَيْلٍ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ نَافِعًا، يُخْبِرُ عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
" مَا كَانَ مِنْ مِيرَاثٍ قُسِمَ فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَهُوَ عَلَى قِسْمَةِ الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ وَمَا كَانَ مِنْ مِيرَاثٍ أَدْرَكَهُ الإِسْلاَمُ فَهُوَ عَلَى قِسْمَةِ الإِسْلاَمِ " .

of you goes to bed with a smell emanating from his hand, and he

not wash his hand, and something happens to him, he should not
blame
anyone but himself.”

" إِذَا نَامَ أَحَدُكُمْ وَفِي يَدِهِ رِيحُ غَمَرٍ فَلَمْ يَغْسِلْ يَدَهُ فَأَصَابَهُ شَىْءٌ فَلاَ يَلُومَنَّ إِلاَّ نَفْسَهُ " .

It was
narrated from ‘Aishah that the Messenger of Allah (saw) said:
“Eat
unripe dates with ripe one and eat old dates with new ones, for Satan gets angry and says: ‘The
son
of Adam will survive so long as he eats old dates with new ones.’”

" كُلُوا الْبَلَحَ بِالتَّمْرِ كُلُوا الْخَلَقَ بِالْجَدِيدِ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ يَغْضَبُ وَيَقُولُ بَقِيَ ابْنُ آدَمَ حَتَّى أَكَلَ الْخَلَقَ بِالْجَدِيدِ " .

‘Amr

that Allah sent down to the Children of Israel, and their water
is a
healing for eye (diseases).’”

narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Messenger of Allah (saw)
granted a concession to Zubair bin ‘Awwam and ‘Abdur-Rahman bin

allowing them to wear silk shirts, because of a rash they
were
suffering from.

Resurrection, then set it ablaze.’”

“A man came to the Prophet

any good to his record (at least) you will not add anything bad.’”

‘Go for Hajj and say: “I will exit Ihram from the point where I
am
prevented.’”

narrated from Anas bin Malik that the Prophet (saw) was brought a
sacrificial animal and he said (to the man driving the animal):
“Ride
it.” He said: “It is a sacrificial animal.” He said: “Ride
it.” He said: “I saw him riding it with the Prophet (saw), and there was a sandal (tied) around its neck.”

turned back towards the Qiblah and performed two
prostrations.”

narrated that ‘Abdullah bin Mas’ud said:
“The Messenger of
Allah (saw) said: ‘You may come across people who offer a prayer at
the wrong time. If you meet them, then perform prayer in your houses
at the time that you know, then pray with them and make that
voluntary.”
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الصَّبَّاحِ، أَنْبَأَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ، عَنْ زِرٍّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ
" لَعَلَّكُمْ سَتُدْرِكُونَ أَقْوَامًا يُصَلُّونَ الصَّلاَةَ لِغَيْرِ وَقْتِهَا. فَإِنْ أَدْرَكْتُمُوهُمْ فَصَلُّوا فِي بُيُوتِكُمْ لِلْوَقْتِ الَّذِي تَعْرِفُونَ. ثُمَّ صَلُّوا مَعَهُمْ وَاجْعَلُوهَا سُبْحَةً " .

Sunan Ibn Majah 1459
It was
narrated from Ayyub who said:
“Hafsah narrated to me, from Umm
‘Atiyyah” and it is similar to the Hadith of Muhammad. And in the
narration of Hafsah it says: “Wash her an odd number of times.”
And:
“Wash her face three or five times.” And “Start on her
right, with the
places washed in ablution.” And it says that Umm
‘Atiyyah said: “And
we combed her hair into three braids.”

narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:
“They (the martyrs) were

to the Messenger of Allah (SAW) on the Day of Uhud, and he

offer the funeral prayer for them, ten by ten. Hamzah lay
where he
lay, and they were taken away but he was left where he was.”

busy.”

“If anyone of you sees a dream that he dislikes, let him
spit
dryly to his left three times and seek refuge with Allah from
Satan
three times, and turn over onto his other side.”

“The believer should not humiliate himself.” They said:

cannot deal with.”

narrated from Abu Burdah that his father said:
“The Messenger
of
Allah (saw) said: ‘When Allah gathers all creatures on the Day of
Resurrection, permission will be given to the nation of Muhammad to
prostrate, so they will prostrate to Him for a long time. Then it
will
be said: “Raise your heads, for a certain number of you will
go to
Hell-fire and these will be your ransom from Hell.”*
حَدَّثَنَا جُبَارَةُ بْنُ الْمُغَلِّسِ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى بْنُ أَبِي الْمُسَاوِرِ، عَنْ أَبِي بُرْدَةَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ
" إِذَا جَمَعَ اللَّهُ الْخَلاَئِقَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ أُذِنَ لأُمَّةِ مُحَمَّدٍ بِالسُّجُودِ فَيَسْجُدُونَ لَهُ طَوِيلاً ثُمَّ يُقَالُ ارْفَعُوا رُءُوسَكُمْ قَدْ جَعَلْنَا عِدَّتَكُمْ فِدَاءَكُمْ مِنَ النَّارِ " .

Hell-Fire was kindled for one thousand years and turned white. Then

kindled for another thousand years and it turned black. So it is
black
like the darkest night.”

" أُوقِدَتِ النَّارُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ فَابْيَضَّتْ ثُمَّ أُوقِدَتْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ فَاحْمَرَّتْ ثُمَّ أُوقِدَتْ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ فَاسْوَدَّتْ فَهِيَ سَوْدَاءُ كَاللَّيْلِ الْمُظْلِمِ " .

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عُمَرَ الضَّرِيرُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ عُثْمَانَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ " إِنَّ فِي الْجَنَّةِ شَجَرَةً يَسِيرُ الرَّاكِبُ فِي ظِلِّهَا مِائَةَ سَنَةٍ لاَ يَقْطَعُهَا " . وَاقْرَءُوا إِنْ شِئْتُمْ {وَظِلٍّ مَمْدُودٍ * وَمَاءٍ مَسْكُوبٍ ) .

It was narrated that Abu Barzah al-Aslami said:
A man spoke harshly to Abu Bakr asSiddeeq. Abu Barzah said: Shall I strike his neck? He [Abu Bakr, rebuked him and said: That is not for any one after the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).

It was narrated from Ibn 'Abbas that 'Umar رضي الله عنه said:
I was with the Prophet (ﷺ) on a campaign, and I swore (an oath), No, by my father! A man called out from behind me: “Do not swear by your fathers.” And I saw that it was the Prophet (ﷺ).
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الزُّبَيْرِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ كُنْتُ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي غَزَاةٍ فَحَلَفْتُ لَا وَأَبِي فَهَتَفَ بِي رَجُلٌ مِنْ خَلْفِي فَقَالَ لَا تَحْلِفُوا بِآبَائِكُمْ فَإِذَا هُوَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ.

Musnad Ahmad 306
It was narrated from Ibn `Umar that `Umar bin al-Khattab (رضي الله عنه) said:
I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) : O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), if one of us wants to sleep before doing ghusl when he is junub, what should he do? He said: `Let him do wudoo’ as for prayer, then sleep.”
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَنْبَأَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ الْخَطَّابِ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ أَحَدُنَا إِذَا أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنَامَ وَهُوَ جُنُبٌ كَيْفَ يَصْنَعُ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَغْتَسِلَ قَالَ يَتَوَضَّأُ وُضُوءَهُ لِلصَّلَاةِ ثُمَّ يَنَامُ.

Musnad Ahmad 309
It was narrated from Ibn ʼUmar that ‘Umar (رضي الله عنه) - and I think he attributed it to the Prophet (ﷺ) said:
`Allah, may He be blessed and exalted - says: `Whoever humbles himself before Me like that” – and he turned his palm down towards the ground like that, very close to the ground - ` I will raise him in status like this` - and he turned his palm up towards the heaven and raised his hand like that.
حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، أَنْبَأَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، عَنْ عُمَرَ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ لَا أَعْلَمُهُ إِلَّا رَفَعَهُ قَالَ يَقُولُ اللَّهُ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى مَنْ تَوَاضَعَ لِي هَكَذَا وَجَعَلَ يَزِيدُ بَاطِنَ كَفِّهِ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ وَأَدْنَاهَا إِلَى الْأَرْضِ رَفَعْتُهُ هَكَذَا وَجَعَلَ بَاطِنَ كَفِّهِ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ وَرَفَعَهَا نَحْوَ السَّمَاءِ.

It was narrated that Simak bin Harb said:
I heard an-Nu`man - i.e., bin Basheer - say: `Umar (رضي الله عنه) mentioned what the people had acquired of worldly gains and said: I saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) remaining curled up [with hunger pangs] all day, unable to find even the worst type of dates with which to fill his stomach.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ، وَحَجَّاجٌ، قَالَا حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ النُّعْمَانَ يَعْنِي ابْنَ بَشِيرٍ، يَخْطُبُ قَالَ ذَكَرَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ مَا أَصَابَ النَّاسُ مِنْ الدُّنْيَا فَقَالَ لَقَدْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَظَلُّ الْيَوْمَ يَلْتَوِي مَا يَجِدُ دَقَلًا يَمْلَأُ بِهِ بَطْنَهُ.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ، حَدَّثَنِي عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا عِمْرَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَارِثِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ قَالَ أُتِيَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِلَحْمِ صَيْدٍ وَهُوَ مُحْرِمٌ فَلَمْ يَأْكُلْهُ.

It was narrated that ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) said:
I was a man who emitted a great deal of madhi. I asked the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) about that and he said: `For madhi, do wudoo` and for mani do ghusl.”

It was narrated that Sa`d bin Ibraheem said:
I heard ‘Abdullah bin Shaddad say: `Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: I never saw the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) mention both of his parents for anyone except Sa`d bin Malik (رضي الله عنه). On the day of Uhud he started saying: `Shoot, may my father and mother be sacrificed for you!”

It was narrated from ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) from the Prophet (ﷺ) that On the day of al-Ahzab, he was at one of the crossing points of the ditch and he said:
`They distracted us from the middle prayer until the sunset; may Allah fill their graves and their houses - or their bellies and their houses - with fire.”

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Umar ibn al-Khattab, Abdullah ibn Umar, Abdullah ibn Masud, Salim ibn Abdullah, al-Qasim ibn Muhammad, Ibn Shihab,and Sulayman ibn Yasar all said, "If a man has vowed to divorce his wife before marrying her and then he breaks his vow, divorce is obligatory for him when he marries her."
وَحَدَّثَنِي يَحْيَى، عَنْ مَالِكٍ، أَنَّهُ بَلَغَهُ أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ، وَعَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ، وَعَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ، وَسَالِمَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، وَالْقَاسِمَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَابْنَ، شِهَابٍ وَسُلَيْمَانَ بْنَ يَسَارٍ كَانُوا يَقُولُونَ إِذَا حَلَفَ الرَّجُلُ بِطَلاَقِ الْمَرْأَةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَنْكِحَهَا ثُمَّ أَثِمَ إِنَّ ذَلِكَ لاَزِمٌ لَهُ إِذَا نَكَحَهَا .

Abu Ubaidah bin Muttammad bin Ammar bin Yasir said:
"I asked Jabir bin Abdullah about wiping over the Khuff. He said, 'O my nephew! It is the Sunnah.'" [He said:] "And I asked him about wiping over the lmamah. He said, '[Wipe1 the hair [with water].'"

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
The Prophet said, "You will be gathered (on the Day of Resurrection) and some people will be driven (by the angels) to the left side (and taken to Hell) whereupon I will say as the pious slave (Jesus) said:- - "And I was a witness over them while I dwelt amongst them...the ALMIGHTY, the All Wise." (5.117-118)

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
When the Prophet arrived at Medina, the Jews were observing the fast on 'Ashura' (10th of Muharram) and they said, "This is the day when Moses became victorious over Pharaoh," On that, the Prophet said to his companions, "You (Muslims) have more right to celebrate Moses' victory than they have, so observe the fast on this day."
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا غُنْدَرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ قَدِمَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم الْمَدِينَةَ وَالْيَهُودُ تَصُومُ عَاشُورَاءَ فَقَالُوا هَذَا يَوْمٌ ظَهَرَ فِيهِ مُوسَى عَلَى فِرْعَوْنَ. فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم لأَصْحَابِهِ
" أَنْتُمْ أَحَقُّ بِمُوسَى مِنْهُمْ، فَصُومُوا ".

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:
The Prophet said, "I was in a seclusion in the cave of Hira........."(similar to the narration related by `Ali bin Al-Mubarak, 444 above).
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ، وَغَيْرُهُ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا حَرْبُ بْنُ شَدَّادٍ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، رضى الله عنهما عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
" جَاوَرْتُ بِحِرَاءٍ ". مِثْلَ حَدِيثِ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عُمَرَ عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ.

Narrated Jundub:
Once the Prophet fell ill and did not offer the night prayer (Tahajjud prayer) for a night or two. A woman (the wife of Abu Lahab) came to him and said, "O Muhammad ! I do not see but that your Satan has left you." Then Allah revealed (Surat-Ad-Duha): 'By the fore-noon, and by the night when it darkens (or is still); Your Lord has not forsaken you, nor hated you.' (93)
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو نُعَيْمٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ الأَسْوَدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جُنْدَبًا، يَقُولُ اشْتَكَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَلَمْ يَقُمْ لَيْلَةً أَوْ لَيْلَتَيْنِ فَأَتَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ فَقَالَتْ يَا مُحَمَّدُ مَا أُرَى شَيْطَانَكَ إِلاَّ قَدْ تَرَكَكَ، فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ {وَالضُّحَى * وَاللَّيْلِ إِذَا سَجَى * مَا وَدَّعَكَ رَبُّكَ وَمَا قَلَى}

" يَا أَبَا مُوسَى لَقَدْ أُوتِيتَ مِزْمَارًا مِنْ مَزَامِيرِ آلِ دَاوُدَ ".

Narrated Abu Sa`id Al-Khudri:
We got female captives in the war booty and we used to do coitus interruptus with them. So we asked Allah's Apostle about it and he said, "Do you really do that?" repeating the question thrice, "There is no soul that is destined to exist but will come into existence, till the Day of Resurrection."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ أَسْمَاءَ، حَدَّثَنَا جُوَيْرِيَةُ، عَنْ مَالِكِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنِ ابْنِ مُحَيْرِيزٍ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَصَبْنَا سَبْيًا فَكُنَّا نَعْزِلُ فَسَأَلْنَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَقَالَ
" أَوَإِنَّكُمْ لَتَفْعَلُونَ قَالَهَا ثَلاَثًا مَا مِنْ نَسَمَةٍ كَائِنَةٍ إِلَى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ إِلاَّ هِيَ كَائِنَةٌ ".

Narrated Abu Huraira:
Abul Qasim (the Prophet ) said, "There is an hour (or a moment) of particular significance on Friday. If it happens that a Muslim is offering a prayer and invoking Allah for some good at that very moment, Allah will grant him his request." (The sub-narrator placed the top of his finger on the palm of the other hand between the middle finger and the little one.)
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدٌ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، حَدَّثَنَا سَلَمَةُ بْنُ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سِيرِينَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ أَبُو الْقَاسِمِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" فِي الْجُمُعَةِ سَاعَةٌ لاَ يُوَافِقُهَا مُسْلِمٌ قَائِمٌ يُصَلِّي، فَسَأَلَ اللَّهَ خَيْرًا، إِلاَّ أَعْطَاهُ ". وَقَالَ بِيَدِهِ، وَوَضَعَ أَنْمَلَتَهُ عَلَى بَطْنِ الْوُسْطَى وَالْخِنْصَرِ. قُلْنَا يُزَهِّدُهَا.

Narrated Ibn `Abbas:
Hilal bin Umaiyya accused his wife of illegal sexual intercourse and came to the Prophet to bear witness (against her), (taking the oath of Lian). The Prophet was saying, "Allah knows that either of you is a liar. Will anyone of you repent (to Allah)?" Then the lady got up and gave her witness.
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ بَشَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ حَسَّانَ، حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ أَنَّ هِلاَلَ بْنَ أُمَيَّةَ، قَذَفَ امْرَأَتَهُ، فَجَاءَ فَشَهِدَ وَالنَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَقُولُ
" إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَعْلَمُ أَنَّ أَحَدَكُمَا كَاذِبٌ، فَهَلْ مِنْكُمَا تَائِبٌ ". ثُمَّ قَامَتْ فَشَهِدَتْ.

Narrated Yunus Ibn Jubair:
Ibn `Umar divorced his wife while she was having her menses. `Umar asked the Prophet who said, "Order him (your son) to take her back, and then divorced her before her period of the 'Iddah has elapsed." I asked Ibn `Umar, "Will that divorce (during the menses) be counted?" He replied, "If somebody behaves foolishly (will his foolishness be an excuse for his misbehavior)?"
حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سِيرِينَ، حَدَّثَنِي يُونُسُ بْنُ جُبَيْرٍ، سَأَلْتُ ابْنَ عُمَرَ فَقَالَ طَلَّقَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ امْرَأَتَهُ وَهْىَ حَائِضٌ، فَسَأَلَ عُمَرُ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَأَمَرَهُ أَنْ يُرَاجِعَهَا، ثُمَّ يُطَلِّقَ مِنْ قُبُلِ عِدَّتِهَا، قُلْتُ فَتَعْتَدُّ بِتِلْكَ التَّطْلِيقَةِ قَالَ أَرَأَيْتَ إِنْ عَجَزَ وَاسْتَحْمَقَ.

Sahih al-Bukhari 5795
Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:
The Prophet came to visit `Abdullah bin Ubai (bin Salul) after he had been put in his grave. The Prophet ordered that `Abdullah be taken out. He was taken out and was placed on the knees of the Prophet, who blew his (blessed) breath on him and dressed the body with his own shirt. And Allah knows better.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو، سَمِعَ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ أَتَى النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ أُبَىٍّ بَعْدَ مَا أُدْخِلَ قَبْرَهُ، فَأَمَرَ بِهِ فَأُخْرِجَ، وَوُضِعَ عَلَى رُكْبَتَيْهِ، وَنَفَثَ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ رِيقِهِ، وَأَلْبَسَهُ قَمِيصَهُ، وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ.

The Prophet forbade Ishtimal-as-Samma' and that a man should sit in an Ihtiba' posture in one garment, nothing of which covers his private parts.
حَدَّثَنِي مُحَمَّدٌ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي مَخْلَدٌ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَهَى عَنِ اشْتِمَالِ الصَّمَّاءِ، وَأَنْ يَحْتَبِيَ الرَّجُلُ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ، لَيْسَ عَلَى فَرْجِهِ مِنْهُ شَىْءٌ.

The Prophet gave me a silk suit. I went out wearing it, but seeing the signs of anger on his face, I tore it and distributed it among my wives.

Narrated ibn `Abbas:
The Prophet came out on the day of `Id and offered a two-rak`at prayer, and he did not pray any rak`a before it, nor after it. Then he went towards the women and ordered them to give alms. The women started donating their earring and necklaces.
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَرْعَرَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ـ رضى الله عنهما ـ قَالَ خَرَجَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يَوْمَ عِيدٍ فَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ، لَمْ يُصَلِّ قَبْلُ وَلاَ بَعْدُ، ثُمَّ أَتَى النِّسَاءَ فَأَمَرَهُنَّ بِالصَّدَقَةِ، فَجَعَلَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ تَصَدَّقُ بِخُرْصِهَا وَسِخَابِهَا.

Narrated `Abdullah:
Allah has cursed those women who practise tattooing and those who get it done for themselves, and those who remove hair from their faces, and those who artificially create spaces between their teeth to look beautiful, such women as alter the features created by Allah. Why should I not then curse those whom Allah's Apostle has cursed and that is in Allah's Book?
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ عَلْقَمَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ لَعَنَ اللَّهُ الْوَاشِمَاتِ وَالْمُسْتَوْشِمَاتِ، وَالْمُتَنَمِّصَاتِ وَالْمُتَفَلِّجَاتِ لِلْحُسْنِ، الْمُغَيِّرَاتِ خَلْقَ اللَّهِ. مَا لِي لاَ أَلْعَنُ مَنْ لَعَنَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم وَهْوَ فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ.

Narrated Jabir bin `Abdullah:
A man among us begot a boy whom he named Al-Qasim. The people said (to him), "We will not call you Abul-l-Qasim, nor will we please you by calling you so." The man came to the Prophet and mentioned that to him. The Prophet said to him, "Name your son `Abdur-Rahman."
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ ابْنَ الْمُنْكَدِرِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ جَابِرَ بْنَ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنهما وُلِدَ لِرَجُلٍ مِنَّا غُلاَمٌ فَسَمَّاهُ الْقَاسِمَ فَقَالُوا لاَ نَكْنِيكَ بِأَبِي الْقَاسِمِ، وَلاَ نُنْعِمُكَ عَيْنًا. فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ فَقَالَ
" أَسْمِ ابْنَكَ عَبْدَ الرَّحْمَنِ ".

Narrated Aisha:
The Prophet used to pray eleven rak`at in the late part of the night, and when dawn appeared, he would offer two rak`at and then lie on his right side till the Muadhdhin came to inform him (that the morning prayer was due).
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ يُوسُفَ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ـ رضى الله عنها كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صلى الله عليه وسلم يُصَلِّي مِنَ اللَّيْلِ إِحْدَى عَشْرَةَ رَكْعَةً، فَإِذَا طَلَعَ الْفَجْرُ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ خَفِيفَتَيْنِ، ثُمَّ اضْطَجَعَ عَلَى شِقِّهِ الأَيْمَنِ، حَتَّى يَجِيءَ الْمُؤَذِّنُ فَيُؤْذِنَهُ.
