Ibn 'Umar said,

"Allah's Apostle used to slaughter (camels and sheep, etc.,) as sacrifices at the Musalla."

I came to the Prophet (saws) with the intention of embracing Islam. He commanded me to take a bath with water (boiled with) the leaves of the lote-tree.

A hadith like this has been transmitted on the authority of Abu Huraira.

The Prophet (saws) said: the similitude of a man who emancipates a slave at the time of his death is like that of a man who gives a present after satisfying his appetite.

This hadith that the Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) sent Jabir on an errand has been reported by him through another chain of transmitters.

`Ammar said to `Umar "I rolled myself in the dust and came to the Prophet who said, 'Passing dusted hands over the face and the backs of the hands is sufficient for you.' "

The Prophet (saws) did not get up after sleeping by night or by day without using the tooth-stick before performing ablution.

The Prophet (saws) said: Kill the two black things during prayer, the snake and scorpion.

When the Messenger of Allah (saws) recited the verse "Nor of those who go astray" (Surah al-Fatihah, verse 7), he would say Amin; and raised his voice (while uttering this word).

I was among the captives of Banu Qurayzah. They (the Companions) examined us, and those who had begun to grow hair (pubes) were killed, and those who had not were not killed. I was among those who had not grown hair.

The Prophet said, "The young should greet the old, the passer by should greet the sitting one, and the small group of persons should greet the large group of persons. "

Allah's Apostle said, "The younger person should greet the older one, and the walking person should greet the sitting one, and the small number of persons should greet the large number of persons."

The Prophet (saws) used to wash himself with a sa' (of water) and perform ablution with a mudd (of water).

Abu Dawud said: This tradition has also been narrated by Aban on the authority of Qatadah. In this version he said: "I herd safiyyah."

A hadith like this has been narrated by Yabya b. Abu Kathir with the same chain of transmitters.

Jabir b. 'Abdullah reported a hadith like this through another chain of transmitters.

Sa'd asked: Messenger of Allah, Umm Sa'd has died; what form of sadaqah is best? He replied: Water (is best). He dug a well and said: It is for Umm Sa'd.

The Prophet (saws) said: If a large amount of anything causes intoxication, a small amount of it is prohibited.

A man emancipated his share in a slave. The Prophet (saws) allowed his (full) emancipation, and required him to pay the rest of his price.

A hadith like this has been narrated on the authority of Rafi' b. Khadij through another chain of transmitters.

A hadith like this is reported on the authority of Muhammad son of Fatima (Allah be pleased with her) daughter of Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him).

The tradition mentioned above has also been narrated by Anas bin Malik through a different chain of narrators. He mentioned similar words.

Abu Dawud said “the strongest of these traditions is the one of Sa’id bin Abu Al Hasan. The rest are weak.

The Arabs in the pre-Islamic period did not return from al-Muzdalifah till they saw sunlight at the mountain Thabir. The Prophet (saws) opposed them and returned before the sunrise.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) used to kiss me when he was fasting and when I was fasting.

Malik related to me that Yahya ibn Said said, ''Abd ar-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr died in his sleep, and A'isha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, set free many slaves for him." Malik said, "This is what I like best of what I have heard on the subject."

The Prophet said, "Give food to the hungry, pay a visit to the sick and release (set free) the one in captivity (by paying his ransom).

The Prophet forbade the mixing of ripe and unripe dates and also the mixing of dates and raisins (for preparing a syrup) but the syrup of each kind of fruit should be prepared separately. ( One may have such drinks as long as it is fresh )

Allah's Apostle used to pray (optional, non-obligatory prayer) while riding on his mount (Rahila) wherever it turned, and whenever he wanted to pray the compulsory prayer he dismounted and prayed facing the Qibla.
