on the conditions of al-Bukhārī and Muslim.
Chain: Abū Muʿāwiyah al-Ḍarīr → Abū Isḥāq al-Shaybānī → ʿAbdullāh ibn Abī Awfā (may Allah be pleased with him). Rijāl: (1) Abū Muʿāwiyah, Muḥammad ibn Khāzim al-Ḍarīr al-Tamīmī: thiqah ḥāfiẓ, most precise of all narrators in transmitting from al-Aʿmash specifically, though critics noted he could occasionally err in narrations from others. Died 195 AH. (2) Al-Shaybānī: Abū Isḥāq Sulaymān ibn Abī Sulaymān al-Shaybānī (d. 140 AH); thiqah, a reliable narrator of Kūfah. (3) Ibn Abī Awfā: ʿAbdullāh ibn Abī Awfā; Companion (Ṣaḥābī); one of the Companions of the Tree (Bayʿat al-Riḍwān) and the last Companion to die in Kūfah, 86–87 AH. Takhrīj: al-Bukhārī, Kitāb al-Dhabāʾiḥ (5527); Muslim, Kitāb al-Ṣayd (1937). Commentary: A concise restatement of the same ruling, without the added explanatory remark from Saʿīd ibn Jubayr, confirming the categorical nature of the prohibition as originally transmitted by Ibn Abī Awfā.
