مُسْنَدُ عَطِيَّةَ الْقُرَظِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Three-Narrator Ahadith 224
ʿAṭiyyah al-Quraẓī (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
On the day Saʿd [ibn Muʿādh] passed judgment concerning them [Banū Qurayẓah], I was a young boy; they did not find that I had grown pubic hair, so here I am now, living among you.

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عَطِيَّةَ يَقُولُ: «كُنْتُ يَوْمَ حَكَمَ سَعْدٌ فِيهِمْ غُلَامًا، فَلَمْ يَجِدُونِي أَنْبَتُّ، فَهَا أَنَا ذَا بَيْنَ أَظْهُرِكُمْ»

Chain: Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah → ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr → ʿAṭiyyah al-Quraẓī (may Allah be pleased with him). Rijāl: (1) Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah: Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah ibn Mīmūn al-Hilālī al-Kūfī (d. 198 AH); thiqah ḥāfiẓ faqīh imām. (2) ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr: ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr al-Lakhmī al-Kūfī (d. 136 AH); thiqah, though his memory changed in advanced age and he was occasionally noted for tadlīs. (3) ʿAṭiyyah al-Quraẓī: a young member of Banū Qurayẓah at the siege of 5 AH who embraced Islam; counted among the Tābiʿūn, spared execution as he had not reached puberty. Takhrīj: recorded by Abū Dāwūd, Kitāb al-Ḥudūd (4404); al-Tirmidhī (1584); al-Nasāʾī (3430); and Ibn Mājah (2541), all deriving from ʿAbd al-Malik ibn ʿUmayr’s report from ʿAṭiyyah. Commentary: This is a shorter restatement of the preceding report through a different senior narrator (Sufyān rather than Hushaym), confirming Saʿd ibn Muʿādh’s well-known ruling regarding the men of Banū Qurayẓah, and ʿAṭiyyah’s own survival as living proof of how that ruling was applied with a precise, verifiable criterion rather than mere estimation of age.
