Three-Narrator Ahadith 206
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ offered to grant us [the Anṣār] a portion of land in Bahrain, but we said, “We will not accept that unless you grant something similar to our brothers the Muhājirūn.” He said, “You will encounter people who prefer themselves over you after I am gone, so be patient until you meet me [on the Day of Judgement].” They said, “We will be patient.”

Musnad Aḥmad 206

Chain: Aḥmad → Abū Muʿāwiyah → Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd al-Anṣārī → Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: (1) Abū Muʿāwiyah: Muḥammad ibn Khāzim al-Ḍarīr al-Kūfī (d. 195 AH); thiqa ḥāfiẓ. (2) Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd al-Anṣārī al-Madanī (d. 143 AH): Thiqa thabt. (3) Anas ibn Mālik: Companion (Ṣaḥābī); the Prophet's ﷺ servant for ten years; d. 93 AH. Takhrīj: Aḥmad (3/167); al-Bukhārī in Kitāb al-Manāqib (3794) and Kitāb al-Farāʾiḍ (6742); Muslim in Kitāb al-Zakāh (1061). The Anṣār’s selfless refusal to accept a gift the Muhājirūn had not received illustrates the depth of brotherhood they embodied. The Prophet ﷺ foretold the political marginalization of the Anṣār after his death and instructed them to meet that test with patience until they rejoined him at the Ḥawḍ.
