مُسْنَدُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ خَادِمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ
Three-Narrator Ahadith 201
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“I reached the Sidrat al-Muntahā, and I saw that its berries were like clay pitchers [in size] and its leaves were like the ears of elephants. When that which Allah willed enveloped it, it transformed into rubies, or emeralds, or something of the like.”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ: «انْتَهَيْتُ إِلَى السِّدْرَةِ، فَإِذَا نَبْقُهَا مِثْلُ الْجِرَارِ، وَإِذَا وَرَقُهَا مِثْلُ آذَانِ الْفِيَلَةِ، فَلَمَّا غَشِيَهَا مِنْ أَمْرِ اللَّهِ مَا غَشِيَهَا، تَحَوَّلَتْ يَاقُوتًا أَوْ زُمُرُّدًا أَوْ نَحْوَ ذَلِكَ».

Chain: Aḥmad → Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿAdī → Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl → Anas → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: (1) Muḥammad ibn Ibrāhīm ibn Abī ʿAdī al-Baṣrī (d. 194 AH): Thiqa ḥujjah. (2) Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl: Ḥumayd ibn Abī Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl al-Baṣrī (d. 142 AH); thiqa. (3) Anas ibn Mālik: Companion (Ṣaḥābī); the Prophet's ﷺ servant for ten years; d. 93 AH. Takhrīj: Aḥmad (3/128); al-Bukhārī in Kitāb Bad’ al-Khalq (3207); Muslim in Kitāb al-Īmān (173). The Sidrat al-Muntahā is the Lote-tree of the Furthest Boundary, beyond the seventh heaven, which the Prophet ﷺ witnessed during the Miʿrāj. Its transformation into gems at the divine command is described in Sūrat al-Najm (53:16):
