Three-Narrator Ahadith 190
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet ﷺ said:
“The Dajjāl is blind in his left eye; over it is a thick film, and between his eyes is written: ‘Kāfir, Disbeliever,’ or he said: ‘Kafara, He has disbelieved.’”

Musnad Aḥmad 190

Chain: Aḥmad → Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd al-Qaṭṭān → Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl → Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: (1) Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd al-Qaṭṭān al-Baṣrī: thiqa mutqin, d. 198 AH. (2) Ḥumayd ibn Abī Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl al-Baṣrī: thiqa, d. 142 AH. (3) Anas ibn Mālik: Companion, d. ca. 93 AH. Takhrīj: Muslim (2933); al-Tirmidhī (2245); Aḥmad (12145). The description of the Dajjāl is reported from a large number of Companions and is mutawātir in its substance. Ẓafara is a thick membrane growing over the eye. Reports differ as to which eye is defective, and Ibn Ḥajar and others reconcile them by holding that both are afflicted though in different ways, the one effaced and the other filmed over. The scholars add that the inscription between his eyes will be legible to every believer whether or not he can read, which is presented as the decisive sign for those who encounter him.
