مُسْنَدُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ خَادِمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ
Three-Narrator Ahadith 169
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
“Ukaydir of Dūma gifted the Prophet ﷺ a fine robe, and the people marveled at its beauty. He said: ‘The handkerchiefs of Saʿd in Paradise are better, or more beautiful, than this.’”

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُدْعَانَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ قَالَ: أَهْدَى أُكَيْدِرُ دُومَةَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَعْنِي حُلَّةً فَعَجِبَ النَّاسُ مِنْ حُسْنِهَا. فَقَالَ: «لَمَنَادِيلُ سَعْدٍ فِي الْجَنَّةِ خَيْرٌ أَوْ أَحْسَنُ مِنْهَا».

Chain: Aḥmad → Sufyān ibn ʿUyayna → ʿAlī ibn Zayd ibn Judʿān → Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: (1) Sufyān ibn ʿUyayna al-Hilālī al-Makkī: thiqa ḥāfiẓ faqīh, d. 198 AH. (2) ʿAlī ibn Zayd ibn Judʿān al-Taymī al-Baṣrī (d. 131 AH): ḍaʿīf owing to weakness of memory, particularly in his later years; his reports are admitted only as shawāhid. (3) Anas ibn Mālik: Companion, d. ca. 93 AH. Takhrīj: Al-Bukhārī (3251) records the report of the handkerchiefs of Saʿd through a ṣaḥīḥ chain from Anas, together with the account of the silk garment; Aḥmad (12093). Ukaydir ibn ʿAbd al-Malik was the Christian ruler of Dūmat al-Jandal, taken during the expedition of Tabūk and thereafter sending gifts. The Saʿd intended is Saʿd ibn Muʿādh (may Allah be pleased with him), at whose death the Throne of the Most Merciful is reported to have shaken.
