Chain: Aḥmad → Sufyān ibn ʿUyayna → Ḥumayd ibn Abī Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl → Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: (1) Sufyān ibn ʿUyayna al-Hilālī al-Makkī: thiqa ḥāfiẓ faqīh, d. 198 AH. (2) Ḥumayd ibn Abī Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl al-Baṣrī (d. 142 AH): thiqa; a prominent transmitter of Baṣra who related extensively from Anas. Ibn Ḥajar notes that he practised tadlīs and that much of what he relates from Anas he in fact heard through Thābit al-Bunānī; his reports from Anas are accepted where corroborated in the two Ṣaḥīḥs, as here. (3) Anas ibn Mālik: Companion, d. ca. 93 AH. Takhrīj: Al-Bukhārī (1551); Muslim (1232); Aḥmad (12091). Al-Bayḍāʾ is an elevated open tract near Dhū al-Ḥulayfa, the mīqāt of the people of Madina, and it is where the Prophet ﷺ raised his voice in the talbiyah after mounting. The report supports the position that he performed qirān, joining ḥajj and ʿumrah in a single iḥrām.
