مُسْنَدُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ خَادِمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ
Three-Narrator Ahadith 167
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
“The Prophet ﷺ was on a journey and had a cameleer called Anjasha. Anas's mother was among the travelers. He said: ‘O Anjasha, go gently with the crystal vessels.’”

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنِ التَّيْمِيِّ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ: أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ فِي سَفَرٍ، وَكَانَ لَهُ حَادٍ يُقَالُ لَهُ: أَنْجَشَةُ، وَكَانَتْ أُمُّ أَنَسٍ مَعَهُمْ. فَقَالَ: «يَا أَنْجَشَةُ، رُوَيْدَكَ بِالْقَوَارِيرِ».

Chain: Aḥmad → Sufyān ibn ʿUyayna → Sulaymān ibn Ṭarkhān al-Taymī → Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: (1) Sufyān ibn ʿUyayna al-Hilālī al-Makkī: thiqa ḥāfiẓ faqīh, d. 198 AH. (2) Sulaymān ibn Ṭarkhān al-Taymī al-Baṣrī, Abū al-Muʿtamir (d. 143 AH): thiqa ʿābid; among the foremost transmitters of Baṣra and celebrated for his devotion. He was called al-Taymī because he lodged among Banū Taym, not by descent. (3) Anas ibn Mālik: Companion, d. ca. 93 AH. Takhrīj: Al-Bukhārī (6210); Muslim (2323); Aḥmad (12090). The expression al-qawārīr, glass or crystal vessels, is a metaphor for the women being carried, delicate in constitution and easily unsettled by a jolting pace. Anjasha was a freedman of the Prophet ﷺ with a fine voice, and the ḥudāʾ, the cameleer's chant, quickens the mounts, which is why the caution was needed.
