Three-Narrator Ahadith 155
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
A man asked the Prophet ﷺ about the Hour. He said, “What have you prepared for it?” The man replied, “I have not prepared much for it, but I love Allah and His Messenger.” He said: “A person will be with those whom he loves.” Sufyān narrated it on another occasion with the wording: “You will be with those whom you love.”

Musnad Aḥmad 155

according to the conditions of al-Bukhārī and Muslim.
Chain: Aḥmad → Sufyān ibn ʿUyayna → Muḥammad ibn Shihāb al-Zuhrī → Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: (1) Sufyān ibn ʿUyayna al-Hilālī al-Makkī: thiqa ḥāfiẓ faqīh imām, d. 198 AH. (2) Muḥammad ibn Shihāb al-Zuhrī al-Madanī: thiqa ḥāfiẓ faqīh imām, d. 124 AH. (3) Anas ibn Mālik: Companion, d. ca. 93 AH. Takhrīj: Al-Bukhārī (6171); Muslim (2639); Aḥmad (12075). Anas said that the Muslims rejoiced at nothing after Islam as much as they rejoiced at this reply, for it held out the hope of the Prophet's ﷺ company in the hereafter by virtue of love for him, even where deeds fell short. Anas added in other routes: “I love the Prophet ﷺ, Abū Bakr and ʿUmar, and I hope to be with them on account of my love for them, though I have not done deeds like theirs.” The two wordings preserved from Sufyān differ only in address and not in meaning.
