Three-Narrator Ahadith 150
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
I was playing with the boys when the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and greeted us with salām. Yazīd added in his narration: “greeted us.” He took me by the hand and sent me on an errand, and sat in the shade of a wall until I returned to him and conveyed the message he had entrusted me with. When I went back to [my mother] Umm Sulaym she asked, “What kept you?” I said, “The Prophet ﷺ sent me on an errand.” She asked, “What was it?” I said, “It is a secret.” She said, “Keep the secret of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.” And I never told anyone about it after that.

Musnad Aḥmad 150

according to the conditions of al-Bukhārī and Muslim.
Chain: Aḥmad → [Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿAdiyy and Yazīd ibn Hārūn, both] from Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl → Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: (1) Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿAdiyy al-Sulamī al-Baṣrī: thiqa thabt, d. 194 AH. (2) Yazīd ibn Hārūn al-Wāsiṭī: thiqa mutqin, d. 206 AH. (3) Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl al-Baṣrī: thiqa, d. 142 AH. (4) Anas ibn Mālik: Companion, d. ca. 93 AH. Takhrīj: Al-Bukhārī (6289); Muslim (2482); Aḥmad (12060). The report yields several points at once: the Sunnah of greeting children with salām, the entrusting of a confidence to a child and the child's obligation to keep it, and a mother's instruction to her son to guard what he had been told even from her. Anas held to it for the rest of his life, and Thābit al-Bunānī relates that Anas told him only that the errand had been a secret, never its content. The clause noted from Yazīd is a variant in wording alone.
