Chain: Aḥmad → Wakīʿ ibn al-Jarrāḥ → Muṣʿab ibn Sulaym → Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: (1) Wakīʿ ibn al-Jarrāḥ ibn Malīḥ al-Ruʾāsī al-Kūfī: thiqa ḥāfiẓ ʿābid; one of the great imāms of Kūfah, a principal teacher of Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal. Born ca. 129 AH, died 197 AH. (2) Muṣʿab ibn Sulaym al-ʿAbsī al-Kūfī: thiqa; a direct student of Anas ibn Mālik. (3) Anas ibn Mālik ibn al-Naḍr al-Anṣārī al-Khazrajī: Companion; he served the Prophet ﷺ for ten years from the time of the hijrah, and died at Baṣrah ca. 93 AH, the last of the Companions to die there. Takhrīj: Al-Bukhārī (1559); Muslim (1251); Aḥmad (12899). The narration establishes the permissibility of qirān, one of the three valid modes of performing Ḥajj, in which the pilgrim enters the combined iḥrām of Ḥajj and ʿUmrah at once and performs a single ṭawāf and saʿy for both. The talbiyah pronounced by the Prophet ﷺ in this account named both rites together, which is the defining feature of qirān as against ifrād (Ḥajj alone) and tamattuʿ (ʿUmrah first, then Ḥajj with a fresh iḥrām).
