Three-Narrator Ahadith 124
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
I was serving Abū ʿUbaydah ibn al-Jarrāḥ, Ubayy ibn Kaʿb, Suhayl ibn Bayḍāʾ, and a group of the Prophet’s Companions at the house of Abū Ṭalḥah. I was serving them drinks until the drink had nearly taken its effect upon them, when a man from the Muslims came and said: “Have you not heard? Intoxicating drinks have been prohibited!” They did not say: “Let us first investigate and ask.” Rather, they said: “Pour away what is left in your jug, Anas!” He [Anas] said: “By Allah, they never returned to it — and their drink was nothing but ripe and unripe dates; that was their wine at the time.”

Musnad Aḥmad 124

according to the conditions of al-Bukhārī and Muslim.
Chain: Aḥmad ibn Ḥanbal → Yaḥyā [ibn Saʿīd al-Qaṭṭān] → Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl → Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd al-Qaṭṭān: thiqa mutqin. Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl: thiqa. Anas ibn Mālik: Companion. Takhrīj: Aḥmad (3/182), no. 12869; al-Bukhārī (4620); Muslim (1980). This narration presents a second scene from the same night the prohibition of alcohol descended — a remarkable tableau of Companions who abandoned their cups without hesitation, having received nothing more than a verbal announcement from a passerby. Scholars cite these two accounts as among the greatest examples of instant compliance with divine command in Islamic history.
