مُسْنَدُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ خَادِمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ
Three-Narrator Ahadith 120
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ used to say: “Allāhumma innī aʿūdhu bika min al-kasali wa’l-bukhli wa ʿadhāb al-qabr (O Allah, I seek Your refuge from laziness, miserliness, and the torment of the grave).”

حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَقُولُ: «اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَلِ وَالْبُخْلِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ».

(2) Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl: thiqa; Anas ibn Mālik: Companion. Takhrīj: Aḥmad (3/179), no. 12833; al-Bukhārī (2823), where the longer form includes additional phrases; Muslim (2706). The ḥadīth is a concise but comprehensive refuge supplication connecting worldly impediments (laziness and miserliness) with punishment in the Hereafter.
