The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Allah excuses and grants forgiveness to a person until he attains the age of sixty years".

[Al- Bukhari].

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Do not belittle any good deed, even meeting your brother (Muslim) with a cheerful face".

[Muslim].

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "Do not keep the fire burning in your homes when you go to bed."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The expiation for beating or slapping a slave on the face for something he has not done is to set him free."

[Muslim].

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "It is enough for a man to prove himself a liar when he goes on narrating whatever he hears."

[Muslim].

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "He who believes in Allah and the Last Day must either speak good or remain silent."

[Muslim].

I came to the Prophet (PBUH) when he was in the mosque, and he said to me, "Perform two Rak'ah prayer."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim].

The Prophet (PBUH) said, "The first matter concerning which people will be judged on the Day of Resurrection will be the matter of blood."

[Al-Bukhari and Muslim]

The Prophet (SAW), Abu Bakr, and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, would start their recitation with: "All the praise and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of all that exists.

"I prayed with the Prophet (SAW) and with Abu Bakr and Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, and they started with "All the praise and thanks be to Allah, the Lord of all that exists."

He asked the Prophet (SAW) about Al-Mua'awwidhatain. Uqbah said: "The Messenger of Allah (SAW) led us in praying Fajr and recited them."

"The Prophet (SAW) forbade me from wearing gold rings, from reciting the Qur'an when bowing, and from wearing Al-Qassi, and clothes dyed with safflower."

"When the Prophet (SAW) fell to the ground during prostration, he held his arms away from his sides and bent his toes."

The Prophet (SAW) said: "Whoever misses jumu'ah deliberately, he has to give a dinar, and if he cannot afford that, then half a dinar." At another place, it is not mentioned: "Deliberately."

"Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, enjoined the prayer on the tongue of your Prophet (SAW): While a resident four (rak'ahs), while traveling two, and at times of fear one."

The Prophet (SAW) went out and prayed for rain, then he prayed two rak'ahs in which he recited loudly.

the Prophet was asked what the Muhrim may kill. He said: "He may kill scorpions the evil creature (mice), Kites, crows and vicious dogs."

"Ride it." He said: "It "It is Badanah." He said: "Ride it even if it is a Badanah."

a woman asked the Prophet about her therwho had died and he did not perform Hajj. He said: "Perform Hajj on behalf of your father."

"Hajj Al-Mabrur brings no reward other than paradise," the report is the same except that he said, "expiates for what came in between."

"Do not count what you give, otherwise Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, will count what He gives to you."

"Whoever fasts a day in the cause of Allah, Allah will separate his face from the heat of Hell (a distance of) seventy autumns."

I heard Ibn Abbas say: I was one of those whom the Prophet sent ahead amongh the weak ones of his family.

"You will become keen for positions of authority, but that will become a regret and loss. What a good life they will live, but how hard it will be for them when they die."

a mouse fell into some cooking fat and died. The Prophet was asked (about that) and he said: "Throw it away, and whatever is around it, and eat (the rest)."

the Prophet was asked about a mouse that had fallen into some solid cooking fat. He said. "Take it, and whatever is around it, and throw it away."

the one who catches up with the game (he shot) after three days may eat from it, unless it has turned rotten.

"Any man who pollinates a date-palm tree then sells it, the fruits of the tree are for the one who pollinated it, unless the purchaser stipulated otherwise."

The Prophet [SAW] was asked: "Which deed is best?" He said: "Faith in which there is no doubt, Jihad in which there is no Ghulul, and Hajjatun Mabrur."

The Prophet [SAW] commanded him to call out on the days of At-Tashriq that no one would enter Paradise except a believer, and that these were the days of eating and drinking.

"The Prophet of Allah [SAW] took hold of some silk in his right hand, and some gold in his left, then he said: 'These two are forbidden for the males of my Ummah.'"

The Prophet [SAW] saw a gold ring on a man's hand and he struck his finger with a stick that he had with him, until he threw it away.

"The Prophet [SAW] forbade me from wearing gold rings, reciting Qur'an while I am bowing, and from Al-Qassi, and garments dyed with safflower."

The Messenger of Allah [SAW] said: "The makers of these images will be punished on the Day of Resurrection, and it will be said to them: 'Bring to life that which you have created.'"

"The Prophet [SAW] forbade to me to use gold rings, Al-Qassi, Al-Mitharah and Al-Ji'ah (a barley drink)."

A similar report was narrated from 'Abdul-Malik bin Nafi' from Ibn 'Umar, from the Prophet [SAW].

"My father died and left behind wealth, but he did not leave a will. Will it expiate for him if I give charity on his behalf?"

"If you swear an oath, then you see something better than it, then offer expiation for your oath, and do that which is better."

"The Prophet said to me: 'If you swear an oath, and you see something that is better, then do that which is better and offer expiation for your oath.'"

"Let him give a Dinar or half a Dinar in charity."

"The Prophet (PBUH) prayed Zuhr when the length of (a person's shadow) was between three and five feet in summer, and between five and seven feet in winter."

"I heard Az-Zuhri say: 'Salim told me that his father said: 'I saw the Prophet (PBUH), if he was in a hurry to travel, joining Maghrib and 'Isha'."

It was narrated from 'Amr bin Shu'aib, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet (PBUH) forbade sitting in circles on Friday before Jumu'ah prayer, and buying and selling in the Masjid.

"The dust in the cause of Allah and the smoke of Hell will never be combined in a man's face, and stinginess and faith can never be combined in a slave's heart."

It was narrated from Ibn 'Umar that the Prophet gave the datepalms of Khaibar and their land to the Jews of Khaibar on condition that they would take care of them at their expense, and the Messenger of Allah would have half of their fruits.

"The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) used to lick his fingers three times.”

“When the Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) ate a meal, he used to lick his three fingers [the thumb, the index finger and the middle finger].”

“The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) drank from [the water of] Zamzam while standing.”

“Anas ibn Malik did not reject perfume. Anas also said: ‘The Prophet (Allah bless him and give him peace) did not reject perfume'.”

The Prophet (saws) prohibited to urinate in a hole.

Qatadah (a narrator) was asked about the reason for the disapproval of urinating in a hole. He replied: It is said that these (holes) are the habitats of the jinn.

Fatimah daughter of AbuHubaysh came to the Prophet (saws) and narrated what happened with her. He said: Then take a bath and then perform ablution for every prayer and pray.

The Prophet (saws) said: Command a boy to pray when he reaches the age of seven years. When he becomes ten years old, then beat him for prayer.

The Prophet (saws) said: Give good tidings to those who walk to the mosques in darkness for having a perfect light on the Day of Judgment.

I saw the Prophet (peace be upon him placing his right hand on his right thigh and raising his forefinger curving it a little.

The Prophet (saws) said: He who leaves the Friday prayer (continuously) for three Friday on account of slackness, Allah will print a stamp on his heart.

The rain was falling on the day when the Battle of Hunayn took place. The Prophet (saws), therefore, commanded that the people should offer their prayer in their camps.

There was an eclipse of the sun in the time of the Prophet (saws). He began to pray a series of pairs of rak'ahs enquiring about the sun (at the end of them) till it became clear.

The Prophet (saws) said: A surah of the Qur'an containing thirty verses will intercede its reader till he will be forgiven. That is: "Blessed is He in Whose Hand is the sovereignty" (Surah 67).

The Prophet (saws) said: Supplication (du'a') is itself the worship.

(He then recited:) "And your Lord said: Call on Me, I will answer you" (xI.60).

The Prophet (saws) said: Your Lord is munificent and generous, and is ashamed to turn away empty the hands of His servant when he raises them to Him.

The Prophet (saws) used to seek refuge in Allah from five things; cowardliness, niggardliness, the evils of old age, evil thoughts, and punishment in the grave.

Al-Firasi asked the Messenger of Allah (saws): May I beg, Messenger of Allah? The Prophet (saws) said: No, but if there is no escape from it, beg from the upright.

The Prophet (saws) offered the noon prayer, and then rode on his mount. When he came to the hill of al-Bayda', he raised his voice in talbiyah.

The Prophet (saws) said: to Ali: Do not give a second look, Ali, (because) while you are not to blame for the first, you have no right to the second.

The Prophet (saws) said: There are three things which, whether undertaken seriously or in jest, are treated as serious: Marriage, divorce and taking back a wife (after a divorce which is not final)

A bedouin came to the Prophet (saws), and said: My wife has given birth to a black son, and I disown him. He then narrated the rest of the tradition to the same effect.

The Prophet (saws) said: if one has a sudden attack of vomiting while one is fasting, no atonement is required of him, but if he vomits intentionally he must make atonement.

The Prophet (saws) said: The warrior gets his reward, and the one who equips him gets his own reward and that of the warrior.

The Prophet (saws) said at the battle of Badr: When they come near you shoot arrows at them; and do not draw swords at them until they come near you.

The Prophet (saws) said: It is not on my own that I give you or withhold from you: I am just a treasure, putting it where I have been commanded.

The Prophet (saws) said: Do not swear by your fathers, or by your mothers, or by rivals to Allah; and swear by Allah only, and swear by Allah only when you are speaking the truth.

The Prophet (saws) said: I swear by Allah, I shall not accept gift from anyone after this day except from an immigrant Qarashi, an Ansari a Dawsi or a Thaqafi.

The Prophet (saws) said: You hear (from me), and others will hear from you; and people will hear from them who heard from you.

The Prophet (saws) said: Come near, my son, mention Allah's name, eat with your right hand and eat from what is next to you.

The Prophet (saws) read the verse: "We ordained therein for them: Life for life and eye for eye (an-nafsa bin-nafsi wal-'aynu bil-'ayn).

When I came to the Prophet (saws), he was sitting with his hands round his knees wearing the cloak the fringe of which was over his feet.

The Prophet (saws) said: Hanging down is in lower garment, shirt and turban. If anyone trails any of them conceitedly, Allah will not look at him on the Day of Resurrection.

I went with my father to the Prophet (saws). He had locks hanging down as far as the lobes of the ears stained with henna, and he was wearing two green garments.

The Prophet (saws) said: Let the Abyssinians alone as long as they let you alone, and let the Turks alone as long as they leave you alone.

The Prophet (saws) had a man's hand cut off who had stolen from the place reserved for women a shield whose price was three dirhams.

The Prophet (saws) said: None of my Companions must tell me anything about anyone, for I like to come out to you with no ill-feelings.

The Prophet (saws) said: Allah has revealed to me that you must be humble, so that no one oppresses another and boasts over another.

The Prophet (saws) said: It is not allowable for a Muslim to keep apart from his brother for more than three days, for one who does so and dies will enter Hell.

The Prophet (saws) said: To harbour good thoughts is a part of well-conducted worship. (This is according to Nasr's version).

Abu Dawud said: Mahna' is reliable and he is from Basrah.

The Prophet (saws) said: When you hear the barking of dogs and the braying of asses at night, seek refuge in Allah, for they see which you do not see.

A thief’s hand should be cut off for a quarter of a dinar and upwards.

Ahmed b. Salih said: The amputation (of a thief’s hand) is for a quarter of a dinar and upwards.

When the Messenger of Allah (saws) was alive, we used to say: The most excellent member of the community of the Prophet (saws) after himself is Abu Bakr, then ‘Umar, then 'Uthman.

The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Abu al-Darda through a different chain of narrators to the same effect from the Holy Prophet (may peace be upon him)

Gather your children when darkness spreads, or in the evening (according to Musaddad), for the jinn are abroad and seize them.

The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Al-Bara’ (b. ‘Azib) from the prophet (May peace be upon him) through a different chain of narrators is a similar way.

The Prophet (saws) sent Mu`adh for some of his work. He then transmitted the rest of the tradition mentioned above.

Abu Dawud said: This tradition is sounder of the two traditions.

the Apostle of Allah (saws) entered the mosque, and saw them (his companions) in separate groups. He said: How is it that I see you in separate groups?

Make intercession to me, you will be rewarded, for Allah decrees what he wishes by the tongue of his prophet.

A similar tradition has also been transmitted by Talhah b. Musarrif from a man from Sa’d from the prophet (May peace be upon him) through a different chain of narrators.

The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by Abu Dharr through a different chain of narrators. In this version the transmitter mentioned the Prophet(may peace be upon him) in the middle of the tradition.

If a man emancipates his share in a slave, the rest will be emancipated by his money if he has enough money to pay the full price for him.

The aforesaid tradition has also been transmitted by Aban bin ‘Uthman on the authority of ‘Uthman from the Apostle of Allaah(saws) in a similar manner. This version adds “And he should not make a betrothal”

Ibn ‘Umar said When the Apostle of Allaah(saws) observed the circumambulation at hajj and ‘Umrah on his arrival, he ran three circuits and walked four, then he made two prostrations.

The Prophet (saws) borrowed. He then transmitted the rest of the tradition to the same effect.

when one of you leads the people in prayer, he should be brief, for among them are the sick, the aged and the needy.
