“The Messenger of Allah (saw) commanded us to sacrifice two sheep for a boy’s ‘Aqiqah and one sheep for a girl.”

“The Messenger of Allah (saw) would say, when milk was brought to him: ‘A blessing,’ or ‘Two blessings.’”

“The family of Muhammad (saw) never ate their fill of barley bread until he was taken (i.e. died).”

“I never saw the Messenger of Allah (saw) insulting anyone, and no garment was ever folded up for him.”*

“Staying in Abtah is not Sunnah; the Messenger of Allah (saw) only stayed there because it was more convenient for his departure.”

“The Messenger of Allah (saw) said: ‘Allah and His angels send blessings upon the right side of the rows.’”

“I never used to see the Prophet (saw) at the end of the night, except that he was sleeping near me.”

“By Allah! The Messenger of Allah (SAW) did not offer the funeral prayer for Suhail bin Baida’ anywhere but in the mosque.”

Aishah said: “I heard the Messenger of Allah(saw) say: 'There is not Zakat on wealth until Hawl (one year) has passed.' ”

that the Messenger of Allah said: 'Breast-feeding makes unlawful (for marriages) the same things that blood tie make unlawful.”

that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) set Safiyyah free, and made her ransom her dowry, and he married her.

she freed Barirah and the Messenger of Allah (SAW) gave her the choice, and she (Barirah) had a free husband.

“Surplus water should not be withheld, and neither should surplus water from a well.

“I never saw the Messenger of Allah (saw) fasting the (first) ten days (of Dhul- Hijjah).”

“We used to menstruate at the time of the Prophet (saw), and he would order us to make up for the (missed) fasts.’”

“We used to store trotters and the Messenger of Allah (saw) would eat them fifteen days after the sacrifice.”

“The Prophet (saw) enjoined killing Dhit-Tufytain* for it takes away the sight and causes miscarriage.” *That means a wicked snake.

“Whoever drinks from a silver vessel, it is as if he is swallowing Hell-fire into his belly.”

“It is as if I can see the races of perfume in the parting (of hair) of the Messenger of Allah (saw), while he is reciting the Talbiyah.”

It was narrated from ‘Aishah that the Prophet (saw) garlanded, and marked, and sent (the sacrificial animals), but he did not avoid anything that the one in Ihram avoids.

“The Prophet (saw) used to pray at night, and I was laying between him and the prayer direction, as a (body for a) funeral horizontally.’”

“When he performed ablution the Prophet (saw) would pray two (short) Rak’ah and then go out for the prayer.”

“The Prophet (saw) used to pray the Maghrib, then he would come back to my house and pray two Rak’ah.”

“The Messenger of Allah (saw) used to sleep during the first part of the night and stay awake during the latter part.”

“Breaking the bones of the deceased is like breaking his bones when he is alive.”

“When the believing women emigrated to the Messenger of Allah (saw), they would be tested in accordance with Allah’s saying: ‘O Prophet! When believing women come to you to give you the pledge...’”[60:12]
‘Aishah said: “Whoever among the believing women affirmed this, passed the test. When they affirmed that, the Messenger of Allah (saw) would say to them: ‘Go, for you have given your pledge.’ No, by Allah! The hand of the Messenger of Allah (saw) never touched the hand of any woman, rather he accepted their pledge in words only.” ‘Aishah said: “By Allah, the Messenger of Allah (saw) did not demand of women (in their pledge) anything other than that which Allah had commanded, and the hand of the Messenger of Allah (saw) never touched the hand of a woman. He would say to them, when he had accepted their pledge: ‘You have given your pledge,’ verbally.”

“I asked ‘Aishah: ‘O mother! Tell me about the sickness of the Messenger of Allah (SAW).’ She said: ‘He felt pain and started to spit (over his body), and we began to compare his spittle to the spittle of a person eating raisins. Like a person eating raisins and spitting out the seeds. He used to go around among his wives, but when he became ill, he asked them permission to stay in the house of ‘Aishah and that they should come to him in turns.’ She said: ‘The Messenger of Allah (SAW) entered upon me, (supported) between two men, with his feet making lines along the ground. One of them was ‘Abbas.’ I told Ibn ‘Abbas this Hadith and he said: ‘Do you know who the other man was whom ‘Aishah did not name? He was ‘Ali bin Abu Talib.’”

"The Messenger of Allah and I used to perform ablution from a single vessel, when the cat had drunk from it beforehand."

"When the two circumcised parts meet, then bath is obligatory. The Messenger of Allah and I did that, and we bathed."

The Prophet said: "Allah does not accept the prayer of a woman who menstruates (i.e., an adult woman) except with a head cover."

"The Messenger of Allah said: 'If the people knew what (reward) there is in the 'Isha' prayer and fajr prayer, they would come even if they had to crawl.'"

"The Messenger of Allah gave us the choice, and we chose him, and he did not consider it as something (i.e., an effective divorce)."

the Messenger of Allah (SAW) bought some food from a Jew with payment to be made later, and he pawned his armor for that.

“I used to part the hair of the Messenger of Allah (saw) behind his crown, and let his forelock hang down.”

“It is as if I can see the traces of perfume in the parting (of hair) of the Messenger of Allah (saw) after three days, and he was a Muhrim.”

“The Jews do not envy you for anything more than they envy you for the Salam and (saying) ‘Amin’.”

It was narrated from Hisham bin ‘Urwah, from his father, from ‘Aishah, that the Messenger of Allah (saW) used to say one Salam, to the front.

“When the Prophet (saw) prayed the two (Sunnah) Rak’ah of Fajr, he would lie down on his right side.”

“If I had known then what I know now, no one would have washed the Prophet (SAW) but his wives.”

“I heard the Messenger of Allah (saw) say: ‘Every prayer in which the Ummul-Kitab (the Mother of the Book) is not recited is deficient.’”

That the Prophet (saws) "Every intoxicant is unlawful."

He said: There are narrations on this topic from 'Umar, 'Ali, Ibn Mas'ud, Anas, Abu Sa'eed, Abu Musa, Al-Ashajj, Al-Asri', Dailam, Maimunah, 'Aishah, Ibn 'Abbas, Qais bin Sa'd, An-Nu'man bin Bashir, Mu'awiyah, 'Abdullah bin Mughaffal, Umm Salamah, Buraidah, Abu Hurairah, Wa'il bin Hujr, and Qurrah Al-Muzani.

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan. Similar was reported from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet (saws). Both of these are Sahih. More than one narrator reported similarly from Muhammad bin 'Amr, from Abu Salamah, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet (saws), and from Abu Salamah, from Ibn 'Umar, from the Prophet (saws).

"I asked Ibn 'Umar about what containers the Messenger of Allah (saws) prohibited. He informed us in your language, and he explained it to us in our language. He said: "The Messenger of Allah (saws) prohibited Al-Hantamah, and it is an earthenware container, and he prohibited Ad-Dubba', and it is gourd, and he prohibited An-Naqir, and it is the trunk of a date-palm that is hollowed out or carved, and he prohibited Al-Muzaffat, and it is coated with pitch. And he ordered that Nabidh be prepared in water-skins."

He said: There are narrations on this topic from 'Umar, 'Ali, Ibn 'Abbas, Abu Sa'eed, Abu Hurairah, 'Abdur-Rahman bin Ya'mur, Samurah, Anas, 'Aishah, 'Imran bin Husain, 'A'idh bin 'Amr, Al-Hakam Al-Ghifari, and Maimunah.

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih.

‘Urwa bin Al Zubair said I said to A’ishah, wife of the Prophet(saws) while I was a boy. What do you think about the pronouncement of Allaah, the Exalted “Lo! (The Mountains) Al Safa’ and Al Marwah are among the indications of Allaah. “I think there is no harm for anyone if he does not run between them. A’ishah(may Allah be pleased with her) said Nay, had it been so as you said, it would have been thus. It is no sin on him not to go around them. This verse was revealed about the Ansaar, they used to perform hajj for Manat. Manat was erected in front of Qudaid. Hence they used to avoid going around Al Safa and Al Marwah. When Islam came, they asked the Apostle of Allaah(saws) about it. Allaah, the Exalted therefore revealed the verse “Lo! (The Mountains) Al Safa’ and Al Marwah are among the indications of Allaah.

Yahya related to me from Malik from Yahya ibn Said al-Ansari that al-Qasim ibn Muhammad ibn Muhammad told him that A'isha, the wife of the prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, used to say in the tashahhud, "Greetings, good words, prayers, pure actions belong to Allah. I testify that there is no god except Allah, alone without partner, and I testify that Muhammad is the slave of Allah and His Messenger. Peace be upon you, Prophet, and the mercy of Allah and His blessings. Peace be upon us and on the slaves of Allah who are salihun . Peace be upon you . "

"At-tahiyatu, at-tayibatu, as- salawatu, az-zakiyatu lillah. Ash-hadu an la ilaha illa'llah, wahdahu la sharika llah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluhu. As- salamu alayka ayyuha-n-nabiyyu wa rahmatu-llahi wa barakatuhu. As- salamu alayna wa ala ibadi-llahi's-salihin. As-salamu alaykum."

Yahya related to me from Malik, from Abu'l-Aswad Muhammad ibn Abd ar-Rahman, fromUrwa ibn az-Zubayr, that A'isha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "We set out with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in the year of the farewell hajj, and some of us went into ihram to do umra, some of us went into ihram to do hajj and umra, and some of us went into ihram to do hajj on its own. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, went into ihram to do hajj on its own. Those who had gone into ihram to do umra came out of ihram (after doing umra). Those who had gone into ihram to do hajj (on its own), or to do both hajj and umra, did not come out of ihram until the day of the sacrifice."

Malik related to me from Nafi from al-Qasim ibn Muhammad from A'isha, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that she bought a cushion which had pictures on it. When the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saw it, he stopped at the door and did not enter. She recognised disapproval on his face and said, "Messenger of Allah, I turn in repentance to Allah and His Messenger. What have I done wrong?" The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "What is the meaning of this cushion?" She said, "I bought it for you to sit and recline on." The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Those who make such pictures will be punished on the Day of Rising. It will be said to them, 'Bring to life what you have created'. Then he said, 'The angels do not enter a house in which there are pictures.' "

clipping the moustache, letting the beard grow, using the tooth-stick, snuffing up water, cutting the nails, washing the finger joints, plucking the hair under the armpits, shaving the pubes, and intiqas, i.e. cleansing oneself with water.” The narrator said, “I have forgotten the tenth, but it may have been rinsing the mouth.” Muslim transmitted it. A version substitutes circumcision for letting the beard grow. I have not found this version in the two Sahihs or in al-Humaidi’s book [Al-jam’ bain as-sahihain], but the author of the Jami‘ [Ibn al-Athir, author of Jami' al-usul] mentioned it. as did al-Khattabi in Ma'alim as-sunan* from Abu Dawud by the transmission of ‘Ammar b. Yasir. *Brockelmann, Geschichte ae arabischen Litteratur, Supp., I, 267, 275, calls this work Ma'alim as-sunna, but the title given above is more likely to be correct, as it is a commentary on Abu Dawud’s Sunan.

What is the matter with people who make conditions which are not in God’s Book? Any condition which is not in God’s Book is worthless. Even if there are a hundred conditions, God’s decision is more valid and God's condition is more binding. The right of inheritance belongs only to the one who has set a person free.” (Bukhari and Muslim.)

The Messenger of Allah liked to start on the right when purifying himself, when combing his hair and when putting on his footwear.

"The Messenger of Allah would become sexually impure and then sleep without water until he got up later on and taken a bath."
