The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) told me to take care of his sacrificial animals and to give their skins and blankets in charity.

The Prophet (ﷺ) used to pray eight rak`ahs of voluntary prayer and during the day twelve rak`ahs.

“I have exempted you with regard to horses and slaves; no zakah is due on them.”

‘Ali said God’s Messenger forbade a forced contract, one which involves some uncertainty, and the sale of fruit before it is ripe. Abu I Dawud transmitted it.

`Ali told that when `Ammar asked permission to come in to see the Prophet he said, "Let him come in. Welcome to the very good man!" Tirmidhi transmitted it.

That the Messenger of Allah (saws) said that Jibra'il had indeed descended upon him to say to him: "Tell them - meaning your Companions - to choose regarding the captives of Badr, between either killing them or ransoming the, so that the amount killed by them will correspond similarly to them." So they said: "Ranson, even though some of us may be killed."

There are narrations on this topic from Ibn Mas'ud, Anas, Abu Barzah, and Jubair bin Mut'im.

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Gharib as a narration of Ath-Thawri. We do not know of it except through the report of Za'idah.

Abu Usamah reported similar to this from Hisham, from Ibn Sirin, from 'Abidah, from 'Ali, from the Prophet (saws)

Ibn 'Awn reported it from Ibn Sirin, from 'Abidah, from 'Ali, from the Prophet (saws) in Mursal form.

Abu Dawud Al-Hafiri's ( a narrator in this chain) name is 'Umar bin Sa'd.

The Prophet (ﷺ) sent me to Yemen as a judge. I said: “Are you sending me to people when I am young and have no knowledge of judging?” He placed his hand on my chest and said: “May Allah make you steadfast and help you to get it right. If two disputants come to you, do not pass judgement in favour of the first one until you listen to what the other one has to say. That is more helpful and will enable you to reach the correct verdict.` Since then I have become a (good) judge. It was narrated that `Ali bin Abi Talib (رضي الله عنه) said: The Prophet (ﷺ) sent me as a judge to Yemen (and he narrated the above). He said: “Allah will make your heart steadfast and guide your mind and heart.” (and he mentioned the hadeeth.) A similar report was narrated from ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه).

Some of the companions of `Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: Why don`t you tell us about the voluntary prayers that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) offered during the day? `Ali (رضي الله عنه) said: By Allah, you cannot do it. They said to him; Tell us about it and we will take whatever we are able to do... then he quoted the hadeeth at length. It was narrated from ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) that He was asked about the (voluntary) prayers of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) during the day. He said: He used to pray sixteen rak`ahs, When the sun was as high there as it is at the time of ‘Asr there, he would pray two rak’ahs. When the sun was as high there as it is at the time of Zuhr there, he would pray two rak`ahs, He would pray four rak`ahs before Zuhr and two rak`ahs after Zuhr, and he would pray four rak`ahs before ʻAsr.

"One night, Quraish consulted together in Mecca. Some said they should tie him up (i.e., the Prophet) in the morning; others said they should rather kill him; and others said they should rather expel him. God informed His prophet about that, so `Ali spent that night on the Prophet's bed, and the Prophet went out till he came to the cave. The polytheists spent the night keeping guard on `Ali, thinking he was the Prophet, and in the morning, they rushed on him, but when they saw `Ali, God had turned away their guile. They asked, "Where is this companion of yours?" and he replied, "I do not know." They tracked him but when they reached the mountain his tracks became confused, so they went up the mountain and passed by the cave. They saw a spider's web at the entrance and said, "If he had entered here there would not have been a spider's web at the entrance." He stayed in it for three nights. Ahmad transmitted it.

“The Messenger of Allah (saw) entered upon us, and with him was ‘Ali bin Abu Talib, who had recently recovered from an illness. We had bunches of unripe dates hanging up, and the Prophet (saw) was eating from them. ‘Ali reached out to eat some, and the Prophet (saw) said to ‘Ali: ‘Stop, O ‘Ali! You have just recovered from an illness.’ I made some greens and barley for the Prophet (saw), and the Prophet (saw) said to ‘Ali: ‘O ‘Ali, eat some of this, for it is better for you.’”

the Prophet said: 'Is it other than a piece of his flesh?" Or: "part of him?"

“Indeed Allah has made unlawful through suckling whatever He made unlawful through lineage.”

“When a man calls his wife to fulfill his need, then let her come, even if she is at the oven.”

"The Messenger of Allah(S.A.W) judged that the children (sons and daughters) from the same mother and father inherit, not the sons from various mothers."

"The Messenger of Allah (saws) ordered that we check the eyes and ears, and not to slaughter the Muqabalah, nor the Mudabarah, nor the Sharqa', nor the Kharqa'"

“Fatimah went to the Prophet complaining of her hands blistering, so he ordered her to say At-Tasbīḥ, At-Takbīr, and At-Taḥmīd.”

that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Do not lie upon me, for indeed whoever lies upon me, he will be admitted into the Fire."

from his father (from the Prophet (SAW)) who said: "O 'Ali! Do not follow a look with a look, the first is for you, but the next is not for you."

that 'Ammar bin Yasir came seeking permission to enter upon the Prophet (SAW) so he said: 'Permit him, greetings to the pure one, the purified."

that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "If I was going to appoint anyone as a leader without any consultation, I would appoint Ibn Umm 'Abd."

that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "The best of its women is Khadijah bint Khuwailid, and the best of its women is Mariam bint 'Imran."

that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "Whatever is between my house and my Minbar is a garden from the gardens of Paradise."

“Whoever tells a lie about his dream will be commanded to tie a grain of barley on the Day of Resurrection.`

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray Witr at the beginning of the night and in the middle and at the end, then he persisted in praying it at the end of the night.

The Prophet (ﷺ) said: `The Hour will not begin until one of my Companions will be sought as a lost item is sought, but he will not be found.`

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) used to pray Witr at the time of the adhan and pray two rak`ahs of Fajr at the time of the iqamah.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade me to wear gold rings, to wear red, and to recite Qur`an whilst bowing and prostrating.

Some game meat was brought to the Prophet (ﷺ) when he was in ihram, and he did not eat it.

It was narrated from ‘Ali (رضي الله عنه) that The Prophet (ﷺ) sent his sacrificial animal with him and told him to give its meat, skin and blankets in charity.

This is the wudoo’ of the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ). Then he did wudoo’ washing each part three times.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade me to wear gold rings and red garments, and to recite Qur`an when bowing and prostrating.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) forbade me to wear a ring on this or this, `Abdur-Razzaq said: meaning his forefinger and middle finger.

“Whoever lies about his dream deliberately, let him take his place in Hell.”

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: `O Allah, bless my ummah in its early mornings.”

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said to me: “Do not follow one glance with another; you may be allowed the first but not the second.`

‘Ali told that a Jewess who was reviling the Prophet and speaking evil of him was strangled to death by a man and the Prophet allowed no payment to be made for her death. Abu Dawud transmitted it.

‘Ali said God's messenger forbade wearing Qassi material and anything dyed with saffron, using a gold ring, and reciting the Qur'an when making the bow. Muslim transmitted it.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: "Indeed the one who betrays will have a banner erected for him on the Day of Judgement."

[He said:] There are narrations on this topic from 'Ali, 'Abdullah bin Mas'ud, Abu Sa'eed Al-Khudri, and Anas.

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Sahih. I asked Muhammad about the Hadith of Suwaid, from Abu Ishaq, from 'Umarah bin 'Umair, from 'Ali, from the Prophet (saws) who said: "For every person who betrays there will be banner." He said: "I do not know of this Hadith being Marfu'"

that the Messenger of Allah (SAW) said: "May Allah have mercy upon Abu Bakr, he married me to his daughter, and he carried me to the land of Hijrah, and he freed Bilal with his wealth. May Allah have mercy upon 'Umar, he says the truth even if it is sour. The truth caused him to be left without a friend. May Allah have mercy upon 'Uthman, the angels are shy of him. May Allah have mercy upon 'Ali. O Allah! Place the truth with him wherever he turns."

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: `There will emerge some people among whom is a man with a defective arm, or an incomplete arm, or a small arm.` If you could exercise restraint, I would have told you what Allah promised on the lips of Muhammad (ﷺ) to those who kill them. ‘Abeedah said to `Ali (رضي الله عنه) Did you hear that from the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)? He said: Yes, by the Lord of the Ka`bah; yes, by the Lord of the Ka`bah, yes, by the Lord of the Ka`bah.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “I have been given that which was not given to any of the other Prophet (ﷺ).” We said: O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ), what is it? He said: “I have been supported (against the enemy) with fear, I have been given the keys of the Earth, I have been named Ahmad, the dust has been made a means of purification for me and my ummah has been made the best of nations.`

`Ali told that when God's messenger was asked whom they should appoint commander after he had gone, he replied, "If you appoint Abu Bakr as commander you will find him trustworthy, with little desire for worldly goods but eager for the next world; if you appoint `Umar as commander you will find him trustworthy and strong, fearing for God's sake no one's blame; and if you appoint `Ali as commander, but I cannot see you doing so, you will find him a guide who is rightly guided who will lead you in the straight way." Ahmad transmitted it.

`A'isha told that the Prophet went out one morning wearing a striped[1] cloak of black goat's hair. Al-Hasan b. `Ali came and he took him under it, then al-Husain came and went under it along with him, then Fatima came and he took her under it, then `Ali came and he took him under it. He then said, "God only desires to remove abomination from you, members of the family, and purify you[2]." It literally means one decorated with representations of camels' saddles. Quran, 33:33. Muslim transmitted it.

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Ali ibn Abi Talib and Abdullah ibn Abbas did not do wudu after eating cooked food.

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Umar ibn al-Khattab and Ali ibn Abi Talib and Uthman ibn Affan drank while standing.

Yahya related to me from Malik that he had heard that Ali ibn Abi Talib said, "Things that pass in front of a man praying do not break his prayer."

"The Messenger of Allah (saws) prohibited wearing Al-Qassi and what was dyed with 'Usfur."

[Abu 'Eisa said:] There are narrations on this topic from Anas and 'Abdullah bin 'Amr.

that the Prophet (SAW) said to 'Ali bin Abi Talib: "You are from me, and I am from you." And there is a story along with this Hadith.

"My ear heard from the mouth of the Messenger of Allah (SAW), while he was saying: 'Talhah and Az-Zubair are my neighbors in Paradise.'"

that concerning Al-'Abbas, the Prophet (SAW) said to 'Umar: "Indeed, the uncle of a man is the Sinw of his father." And 'Umar had spoken to him concerning his charity.
