مُسْنَدُ عُمَيْرٍ مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ الْغِفَارِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Three-Narrator Ahadith 326
ʿUmayr, the freed slave of Ābī al-Laḥm al-Ghifārī (may Allah be pleased with him), reported:
I witnessed [the conquest of] Khaybar together with my masters, and they spoke to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ about me, so he gave me permission [to take part]. I was girded with a sword, and found myself dragging it along [behind me, being so young]. When he was informed that I was a slave, he ordered that I be given a small portion of the goods.

حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ الْمُفَضَّلِ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زَيْدٍ، حَدَّثَنِي عُمَيْرٌ، مَوْلَى آبِي اللَّحْمِ، قَالَ: شَهِدْتُ خَيْبَرَ مَعَ سَادَتِي، فَكَلَّمُوا فِيَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ «فَأَمَرَنِي فَقُلِّدْتُ سَيْفًا، فَإِذَا أَنَا أَجُرُّهُ، فَأُخْبِرَ أَنِّي مَمْلُوكٌ فَأَمَرَ لِي بِشَيْءٍ مِنْ خُرْثِيِّ الْمَتَاعِ

Rijāl: (1) Bishr ibn al-Mufaḍḍal ibn Lāḥiq al-Raqāshī: thiqah thabt. (2) Muḥammad ibn Zayd: ṣadūq. (3) ʿUmayr: a Companion, a slave who fought at Khaybar and was rewarded from the spoils despite slaves not receiving a full combatant's share. Takhrīj: Abū Dāwūd.
