مُسْنَدُ الْهِرْمَاسِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ الْبَاهِلِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Three-Narrator Ahadith 311
Al-Hirmās ibn Ziyād al-Bāhilī (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
My father had me ride behind him, and I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ addressing the people on the Day of Sacrifice at Minā, on his she-camel al-ʿAḍbāʾ.

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ، حَدَّثَنَا عِكْرِمَةُ بْنُ عَمَّارٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الْهِرْمَاسُ بْنُ زِيَادٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ، قَالَ: «كَانَ أَبِي مُرْدِفِي، فَرَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَخْطُبُ النَّاسَ يَوْمَ النَّحْرِ بِمِنًى عَلَى نَاقَتِهِ الْعَضْبَاءِ

Chain: ʿAbd al-Ṣamad ibn ʿAbd al-Wārith → ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār → al-Hirmās ibn Ziyād al-Bāhilī (may Allah be pleased with him) → witnessed directly. Rijāl: (1) ʿAbd al-Ṣamad ibn ʿAbd al-Wārith al-Baṣrī: thiqah. (2) ʿIkrimah ibn ʿAmmār, (3) al-Hirmās ibn Ziyād: as above. Takhrīj: Abū Dāwūd; al-Nasāʾī, specifying explicitly that the sermon was on the Day of Sacrifice (yawm al-naḥr, the 10th of Dhū al-Ḥijjah).
