مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ الْمَازِنِيِّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ
Three-Narrator Ahadith 300
Ḥarīz [ibn ʿUthmān] reported:
I said to ʿAbdullāh ibn Busr, while we were young boys not yet grasping knowledge, “Was the Messenger of Allah ﷺ an old man?” He said, “He had, in his ʿanfaqah, a few white hairs.”

حَدَّثَنَا حَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى، حَدَّثَنَا حَرِيزٌ، قَالَ: قُلْتُ لِعَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ بُسْرٍ وَنَحْنُ غِلْمَانٌ لَا نَعْقِلُ الْعِلْمَ: أَشَيْخًا كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ؟ قَالَ: «كَانَ بِعَنْفَقَتِهِ شَعَرَاتٌ بِيضٌ

Chain: Aḥmad → Ḥasan ibn Mūsā al-Ashyab → Ḥarīz ibn ʿUthmān → ʿAbdullāh ibn Busr (may Allah be pleased with him) → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: (1) al-Ḥasan ibn Mūsā al-Ashyab al-Baghdādī: thiqah ḥāfiẓ. (2) Ḥarīz ibn ʿUthmān, (3) ʿAbdullāh ibn Busr: as above. Takhrīj: Muslim; al-Tirmidhī, al-Shamāʾil al-Muḥammadiyyah, a third independent chain for the same report, here explicitly noting the young age and inexperience of the questioners at the time.
