on the conditions of al-Bukhārī and Muslim.
Chain: Ḥammād ibn Masʿadah → Yazīd ibn Abī ʿUbayd → Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him). Rijāl: (1) Ḥammād ibn Masʿadah al-Tamīmī: thiqah. (2) Yazīd ibn Abī ʿUbayd: Yazīd ibn Abī ʿUbayd al-Aslamī, mawlā of Salamah; thiqah. (3) Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ: Salamah ibn ʿAmr ibn al-Akwaʿ; Companion (Ṣaḥābī); present at Bayʿat al-Riḍwān; d. 74 AH. Takhrīj: Muslim (1136); al-Bukhārī (2007). Commentary: This parallels the earlier report of al-Rubayyiʿ bint Muʿawwidh, instructing that even those who had already broken their fast that morning should abstain from further eating and observe the remainder of the day as a fast, reflecting the same transitional period before Ramaḍān's obligation was legislated.
