Three-Narrator Ahadith 210
ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Ṣuhayb reported:
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) was asked about garlic, and he said: The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, “Whoever has eaten anything from this plant must not come near us”—or he said, “must not pray with us [in the mosque].”

Musnad Aḥmad 210

Chain: Aḥmad → Ismāʿīl ibn Ibrāhīm [ibn ʿUlayyah] → ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Ṣuhayb → Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: (1) Ismāʿīl ibn Ibrāhīm ibn ʿUlayyah al-Baṣrī (d. 193 AH): Thiqa ḥāfiẓ. (2) ʿAbd al-ʿAzīz ibn Ṣuhayb al-Baṣrī al-Bunānī (d. c. 130 AH): Thiqa. (3) Anas ibn Mālik: Companion. Takhrīj: Aḥmad (3/179); al-Bukhārī (5452) and Kitāb al-Adhan (854); Muslim (564). The prohibition applies also to raw onions and leeks, as other narrations specify. The scholarly consensus is that this is a strong dislike (karāhah shaddīdah) approaching prohibition for the individual who intends to attend communal prayer, out of consideration for worshippers and angels alike.
