Three-Narrator Ahadith 175
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
“Whoever lies about me, let him take his seat in the Hellfire, intentionally.” He said it twice. And on another occasion [the wording was]: “Whoever intentionally lies about me.”

Musnad Aḥmad 175

Chain: Aḥmad → Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd al-Qaṭṭān → Sulaymān ibn Ṭarkhān al-Taymī → Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) → the Prophet ﷺ. Rijāl: (1) Yaḥyā ibn Saʿīd al-Qaṭṭān al-Baṣrī: thiqa mutqin, d. 198 AH. (2) Sulaymān ibn Ṭarkhān al-Taymī al-Baṣrī: thiqa ʿābid, d. 143 AH. (3) Anas ibn Mālik: Companion, d. ca. 93 AH. Takhrīj: Al-Bukhārī (107) and (110); Muslim (3); Aḥmad (12154). This is a second and wholly independent three-link route by which the same mutawātir warning reached Aḥmad. Sulaymān al-Taymī's preservation of the placement of mutaʿammidan at the close of the sentence, rather than in its more familiar position, illustrates the exactness with which the transmitters guarded not only the sense but the very order of the words they had heard.
