مُسْنَدُ أَبِي حَمْزَةَ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الْأَنْصَارِيِّ خَادِمِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ ﷺ
Three-Narrator Ahadith 141
Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
“I never touched anything, neither silk nor velvet, that was softer than the palm of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.”

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي عَدِيٍّ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ قَالَ: قَالَ أَنَسُ بْنُ مَالِكٍ: «مَا مَسِسْتُ شَيْئًا قَطُّ خَزًّا وَلَا حَرِيرًا أَلْيَنَ مِنْ كَفِّ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ».

Chain: Aḥmad → Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿAdiyy → Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl → Anas ibn Mālik (may Allah be pleased with him). Rijāl: (1) Muḥammad ibn Abī ʿAdiyy al-Sulamī al-Baṣrī: thiqa thabt, d. 194 AH. (2) Ḥumayd al-Ṭawīl al-Baṣrī: thiqa, d. 142 AH. (3) Anas ibn Mālik: Companion, d. ca. 93 AH. Takhrīj: Al-Bukhārī (3561); Muslim (2330); Aḥmad (12048). Al-khazz denotes a fabric woven of silk together with wool, counted in classical usage among the softest of luxurious textiles. The report belongs to the shamāʾil material transmitted by Anas describing the person of the Prophet ﷺ, and its force lies in the testimony of one who served him closely for ten years. Other narrations of Anas add that he never smelled a fragrance finer than the Prophet's ﷺ scent.
