Sahih al-Bukhari
Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
The Prophet ﷺ said: "Whoever among you has offered a sacrifice, let nothing of its meat remain in his house after the third day." When the following year came, the people said: "O Messenger of Allah, shall we do as we did last year?" He said: "Eat of it, give of it [to others], and store [some] of it—for in that year the people were in hardship, and I wanted you to assist [the needy] through it." Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 5569
