"I set out from Medina towards al-Ghābah. When I reached the mountain pass of al-Ghābah, a slave of ʿAbd al-Raḥmān ibn ʿAwf met me. I said: 'What is the matter?' He said: 'The she-camels (laqūḥ) of the Prophet ﷺ have been taken.' I said: 'Who took them?' He said: 'Ghaṭafān and Fazārah.' So I let out three cries as loudly as I could, filling [the air] between the two mountain ranges of Medina: 'Yā ṣabāḥāh! Yā ṣabāḥāh!' [the distress cry of a dawn raid]. Then I charged forward until I reached them while they had already taken the camels. I began shooting arrows at them, saying: 'I am the son of al-Akwaʿ—and today the cowards shall perish!' I recovered the she-camels from them before they could water them, and drove them back. The Prophet ﷺ met me [on the way] and I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, the people are thirsty and I drove them away before they could water [their mounts]; send [men] in pursuit of them.' He said: 'O son of al-Akwaʿ, you have prevailed, so be magnanimous. The people are now [safe and] being hosted among their own folk.'" Reference: Sahih al-Bukhari 3041

"We set out with the Prophet ﷺ towards Khaybar. One of the men said: 'O ʿĀmir, let us hear some of your poetry!' So he sang [camel-driving verses] to lead them along. The Prophet ﷺ asked: 'Who is the driver [singing]?' They said: 'ʿĀmir.' He said: 'May Allah have mercy on him!' The people said: 'O Messenger of Allah, would that you had let us enjoy his company longer!' But ʿĀmir was killed the following morning. The people said: 'His deeds are nullified—he killed himself!' When I returned while they were saying this about ʿĀmir, I went to the Prophet ﷺ and said: 'O Prophet of Allah, may my father and mother be your ransom—they are claiming that ʿĀmir's deeds have been nullified.' The Prophet ﷺ said: 'Whoever says so has lied. He will have a double reward: he was truly a striving mujāhid—and what manner of death could add any more to his reward?'"
