`Uqba bin Al-Harith said that a black woman came and claimed that she had suckled both of them (i.e. `Uqba and his wife). So, he mentioned that to the Prophet who turned his face from him and smiled and said, "How (can you keep your wife), and it was said (that both of you were suckled by the same woman)?" His wife was the daughter of Abu Ihab-al-Tamimi.

Allah's Apostle sent horsemen to Najd and they arrested and brought a man called Thumama bin Uthal, the chief of Yamama, and they fastened him to one of the pillars of the Mosque. When Allah's Apostle came up to him; he asked, "What have you to say, O Thumama?" He replied, "I have good news, O Muhammad!" Abu Huraira narrated the whole narration which ended with the order of the Prophet "Release him!"

A man displayed some goods in the market and took a false oath that he had been offered so much for them though he was not offered that amount Then the following Divine Verse was revealed:-- "Verily! Those who purchase a little gain at the cost of Allah's covenant and their oaths . . . Will get painful punishment." (3.77) Ibn Abu `Aufa added, "Such person as described above is a treacherous Riba eater (i.e. eater of usury).

that a man asked him. "O Abu '`Umara! Did you flee on the day (of the battle) of Hunain?" He replied, "No, by Allah, the Prophet did not flee but the hasty people fled and the people of the Tribe of Hawazin attacked them with arrows, while the Prophet was riding his white mule and Abu Sufyan bin Al-Harith was holding its reins, and the Prophet was saying, 'I am the Prophet in truth, I am the son of `Abdul Muttalib.' "

On the day (of the battle) of Uhad when (some) people retreated and left the Prophet, I saw `Aisha bint Abu Bakr and Um Sulaim, with their robes tucked up so that the bangles around their ankles were visible hurrying with their water skins (in another narration it is said, "carrying the water skins on their backs"). Then they would pour the water in the mouths of the people, and return to fill the water skins again and came back again to pour water in the mouths of the people.

This hadith has also been narrated by Abd b. Humaid Ya'qub, i. e. son of Ibrahim b. Sa'd, Abu Uwais, Zuhri, like the one narrated by Malik with the same chain of transmission and said: He recited this verse till he completed it.

"The Prophet (saws) was met by some affair that made him happy, so he prostrated to Allah."

[Abu 'Eisa said:] This Hadith is Hasan Gharib, we do not know of it except from this route, as a narration of Bakkar bin 'Abdul-'Aziz.

This is acted upon according to most of the people of knowledge, they held the view that one could perform the prostration of gratitude. And Bakkar bin 'Adbul-'Aziz bin Abi Bakrah is Muqarib (average) in Hadith.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) used to prolong the recitation of the Qur'an in the two rak'ahs after the sunset prayer until the people praying in the mosque dispersed.

Abu Dawud said: This has been reported by Nasr al-Mujaddir from Ya'qub al-Qummi with the same chain of narrators.

Abu Dawud said: Muhammad b. 'Isa b. al-tabba' transmitted from Nasr al-Mujaddir from Ya'qub in like manner.

A woman threw a stone at another woman and she aborted. The dispute was brought to the Messenger of Allah (saws). He gave judgment that five hundred sheep should be paid for her (unborn) child, and forbade throwing stones.

Abu Dawud said: The version of this tradition goes in this way, i.e. five hundred sheep. What is correct is one hundred sheep. Abu Dawud said: 'Abbas transmitted this tradition this way, but it is misunderstanding.

Abu Dawud said; Hammad b. Zaid on the authority of Ayyub has pointed out the name of the woman who had a prolonged flow of blood (referred to) in this tradition to be Fatimah daughter of Abu Hubaish.

Abu Dawud said “I heard Muhammad bin Isa narrating this tradition who said Mu’tamar narrated it to us. And he (Mu’tamar) said “ I heard Al Hakam bin Aban narrating this tradition. He did not mention the name of Ibn ‘Abbas.

Abu Dawud said “Al Hussain bin Huraith wrote to me saying “Al Fadl bin Musa narrated from Ibn ‘Abbas to the same effect from the Prophet(saws).

The Messenger of Allah (saws) came to a man at al-Baqi' while he was cupping on the 18th of Ramadan ; he (the Prophet) was holding my hand. Thereupon he said: A man who cups and a man who gets himself cupped break their fast.

Abu Dawud said: The narrator Khalid al-Hadhdha' transmitted a similar tradition from Abu Qilabah through a different chain of narrators mentioned by the narrator Ayyub.

Abu Dawud said; In this tradition the other narrators have differed from the narrator Wakl. This has been narrated by Wakl, and Shu’bah from Abu Ishaq, from Sa’ld b. Jubair, from Ibn ‘Abbas as his own statement (and not from the Prophet)

Musaddad said: Abu 'Awanah used the word firsah (i.e. a piece of cloth), but Abu Al-Ahwas used the word qasrah (i.e. a small piece of cloth).

Jabir mentioned that he had participated in a Ghazwa towards Najd in the company of Allah's Apostle .

The Prophet said, "Whoever says that I am better than Jonah bin Matta, is a liar."

(As above, No. 354, but added) Then Allah's Apostle said, "Recite if you wish: "Would you then." ..(47.22)

`Ali said, "We were sitting with the Prophet," (He then mentioned the Hadith above (469).

Allah's Apostle said, "I do not take my meals while leaning (against something).

This hadith has been narrated on the authority of Abu Hani with the same chain of transmitters, but there is no mention of" His Throne was upon water."

Abu Sufyan reported like that as as-Saduq al-Amin al-Walid b. Harb narrated with the same chain of transmitters.

Allah's Apostle said, "We (Muslims) are the last (people to come in the world) but (will be) the foremost (on the Day of Resurrection)."

The Prophet said, "None of you should offer prayer in a single garment that does not cover the shoulders."

Allah's Apostle said, "May Allah's curse be on the Jews for they built the places of worship at the graves of their Prophets."

(the same Hadith above, but he added); The Prophet asked, "Is there any of its meat left with you?"

The Prophet said, "Feed the hungry, visit the sick, and set free the captives."

I heard Allah's Apostle saying, "There is healing in black cumin for all diseases except death."

Allah's Apostle said, "They say Al-Karm (the generous), and in fact Al-Karm is the heart of a believer."

The Prophet said, "Wealth is not in having many possessions, but rather (true) wealth is feeling sufficiency in the soul."

The Prophet said, "The boy is for (the owner of) the bed and the stone is for the person who commits illegal sexual intercourse.'

Allah's Apostle said, "The (good) dream of a faithful believer is a part of the forty-six parts of prophetism."

One day the Prophet sat on the pulpit and we sat around him.

We used to give one Sa' of barley as Sadaqat-ul-Fitr (per head).

The Prophet said, "The two months of `Id i.e. Ramadan and Dhul-Hijja, do not decrease (in superiority).

The Prophet forbade two kinds of dresses and two kinds of sale, i.e., Mulamasa and Munabadha.

The Prophet forbade the meeting (of caravans) on the way and the selling of goods by an inhabitant of the town on behalf of a desert dweller.

Allah's Apostle said, "Do not withhold the superfluous water, for that will prevent people from grazing their cattle."

The Prophet judged that seven cubits should be left as a public way when there was a dispute about the land.

The Prophet said, "Umra is permissible." Ata said, "Jabir narrated the same to me from the Prophet."

The Prophet said: "Do not wish to meet the enemy, but when you meet face) the enemy, be patient."

The Prophet said, "But for the Israelis, meat would not decay and but for Eve, wives would never betray their husbands."

The Prophet said, "None should say that I am better than Yunus bin Matta."

The Prophet said, "May Allah save the tribe of Aslam, and may Allah forgive the tribe of Ghifar!"

Allah's Apostle said, "`Amr bin Luhai bin Qam'a bin Khindif was the father of Khuza`a.'

This hadith has been narrated by Ibn 'Urwa with the same chain of transmitters. The hadith narrated by Abu Usama is more complete.

Abu Huraira reported that the Apostle of Allah (may peace be upon him) forbade (his Companions) to observe Saum Wisal.
