Three-Narrator Ahadith 28
Jābir (رضي الله عنه) reported:
“I fell ill, and the Prophet (ﷺ) came to visit me, along with Abū Bakr, both walking on foot. I was unconscious and could not speak to him. He performed wuḍūʾ and poured [the remaining water] over me, and I came around. I said: ‘O Messenger of Allāh, how should I handle my wealth when I have only sisters [as heirs]?’ He did not reply until the verse of inheritance was revealed: ‘They ask you for a legal verdict. Say: Allāh directs you regarding al-kalāla [one who leaves neither child nor father]…If a man dies without leaving a child but has a sister…’ (al-Nisāʾ, 4:176).” Reference: Musnad Aḥmad 28
