Umm Khālid bint Khālid (may Allah be pleased with her) is reported by Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah, who said, “I never heard anyone else say ‘I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ’ except her”, that she heard the Prophet ﷺ seeking refuge from the punishment of the grave.

Chain: Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah → Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah → Umm Khālid bint Khālid (may Allah be pleased with her). Rijāl: (1) Sufyān: Sufyān ibn ʿUyaynah ibn Mīmūn al-Hilālī al-Kūfī (d. 198 AH); thiqah ḥāfiẓ faqīh imām. (2) Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah: Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah al-Asadī (d. 141 AH); thiqah faqīh, author of an early Maghāzī. (3) Umm Khālid: Umm Khālid bint Khālid ibn Saʿīd ibn al-ʿĀṣ; Companion woman who migrated to Abyssinia as a child and was gifted a garment by the Prophet ﷺ. Takhrīj: al-Bukhārī (6367, 6368); Muslim (588). Commentary: Mūsā ibn ʿUqbah's own remark, that among all his teachers, only Umm Khālid explicitly said "I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ", is a notable example of the isnād-scholars' close attention to a narrator's precise wording regarding the manner of transmission (samāʿ), distinguishing direct audition from secondhand report.
