Sahih al-Bukhari
Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him) reported:
"The wall of the mosque by the minbar was [so close to the prayer spot that] a sheep could barely pass between them."

حَدَّثَنَا الْمَكِّيُّ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: «كَانَ جِدَارُ الْمَسْجِدِ عِنْدَ الْمِنْبَرِ مَا كَادَتِ الشَّاةُ تَجُوزُهَا».

Takhrīj: Al-Bukhārī in al-Ṣalāh (497), chapter: How much distance should be between the worshipper and the sutra; Muslim in al-Ṣalāh (508–509), chapter: The worshipper's proximity to the sutra; Aḥmad (4/54), with the note that Salamah used to seek the spot where the Muṣḥaf was kept and mentioned that the Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek that same spot, and that between the minbar and the qibla was the space of a passing sheep.
