Sahih al-Bukhari
Yazīd ibn Abī ʿUbayd reported:
Salamah ibn al-Akwaʿ (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "I gave the pledge of allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ and then withdrew to the shade of a tree. When the crowd around him had thinned, he said: 'O Ibn al-Akwaʿ, will you not give the pledge?' I said: 'O Messenger of Allah, I have already done so.' He said: 'Again.' So I pledged to him a second time." [Yazīd] said: "I asked him: 'O Abū Muslim, upon what were you pledging allegiance that day?' He said: 'Upon death.'"
