"Yahya bin Adam narrated to us, he said: "Malik narrated to us from Zubaid, from Dharr, from Ibn Abza.'"

Zaid b Khalid al-Juhani reported God’s Messenger as saying, “If anyone observes two prostrations without being negligent in them, God will forgive him his previous sins.” Ahmad transmitted it.

Wabisa b. Ma'bad said that God’s Messenger saw a man praying alone behind the row and ordered him to repeat the prayer. Ahmad Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud transmitted it, and Tirmidhi said this is a hasan tradition.

Abu Huraira reported God’s Messenger as saying, “If anyone perseveres in praying the two rak'as of the forenoon, his sins will be forgiven him, even if they are like the foam of the sea.” Ahmad, Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Ibn 'Abbas said he heard God’s messenger say, “Any Muslim who gives a Muslim a garment to wear will be in God’s safe keeping as long as a shred of it remains on him.” Ahmad and Tirmidhi transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Umar reported God’s messenger as saying, “He who wears grand clothes in this world will be made by God to wear humble clothes on the day of resurrection.” Ahmad, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

“He who has himself cauterized or uses a spell has exempted himself from trust in God.” Ahmad, Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Allah’s Messenger (saw) said, “There is no Wudu for one who does not mention Allah’s Name upon it. [Reported by Ahmad, Abu Da’ud and Ibn Majah with a weak chain of narrators].

'Amro bin Shu'aib narrated on the authority of his father, who reported on the authority of his grandfather (RAA) that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “The Zakah of the Muslims should be collected by their water trough.” Related by Ahmad.

'Aishah (RAA) narrated that Allah's Messenger (PBUH) said, "Forgive the people with high moral values when they slip but not what calls for the infliction of Hudud." Related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, An-Nasa'i and Al-Baihaqi.

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "Make marriage publicly known." [Reported by Ahmad and al-Hakim graded it Sahih (authentic)].

The Prophet (SAW) appointed Ibn Umm Maktum (RA) to lead the people in prayer in his absence and he [Ibn Umm Maktum (RA)] was blind. [Reported by Ahmad and Abu Dawud].

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "Gold and silk are lawful for the females among my followers, but prohibited to the males". [Reported by Ahmad, an-Nasa'i and at-Tirmidhi, who graded it Sahih (authentic)].

Abu Dharr reported God’s messenger as saying, “He who separates himself a handbreadth from the community has cast off the rope of Islam from his neck.” Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Abu Sa'id reported God’s messenger as saying, "Two people should not go together to relieve themselves and uncover their private parts and talk, for God is angry with that.” Ahmad, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Abul Malih b. Usama quoted his father as saying that the Prophet prohibited the use of the skins of beasts of prey. Ahmad, Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it; and Tirmidhi and Darimi added that they may be used as rugs.

Samura b. Jundub reported God’s messenger as saying, “If anyone performs ablution on Friday, well and good; but if anyone bathes, bathing is more excellent.” Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasa’i and Darimi transmitted it.

Buraida reported God's Messenger as saying to ‘Ali, “Do not give a second look, ‘Ali, for while you are not to blame for the first you have no right to the second.” Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Darimi transmitted it.

Abu Umama reported the Prophet as saying, “If any Muslim happens to look at a woman’s beauties and then lowers his eyes, God will produce for him an act of worship whose sweetness he will experience.” Ahmad transmitted it.

The Prophet (saws) said: (The standard) weight is the weight of the people of Mecca, and the (standard) measure is the measure of the people of Medina.

Abu Dawud said: Al-Firyabi and Abu Ahmad have also transmitted from Sufyan in a similar way, and he (Ibn Dukain) agreed with them on the text. The version of Abu Ahmad has: "from Ibn 'Abbas" instead of Ibn 'Umar. It has also been transmitted by al-Walid b. Muslim from Hanzalah. This version has: "the weight of Medina and the measure of Mecca."

Abu Dawud said: There is a variation in the text of the version of this tradition narrated by Malik b. Dinar from 'Ata' from the Prophet (saws).

‘A’isha said she heard God’s messenger say, “zakat is never mingled with any property without destroying it.” Shafi'i, Bukhari in his Ta’rikh, and al-Humaidi transmitted it, al-Humaidl adding He said, “Sadaqa will have been incumbent on you and you will not pay it, so what is forbidden will destroy what is lawful.” Those who hold that the zakat is connected with the property itself have used this as an argument. It is given thus in al-Muntaqa. Baihaqi transmitted in Shu’ab al-iman from Ahmad b. Hanbal with, his isnad to ‘A’isha, and Ahmad said “mingled” means that a man accepts zakat when he is opulent or rich, whereas it is only for the poor.

"The Messenger of Allah forbade us to urinate while standing." (Da'if) I heard Muhammed bin Yazid, Abu 'Abdullah, say: "I heard Ahmad bin 'Abdur-Rahman Al-Makhzumi say: 'Sufyan Ath-Thawri said concerning the Hadith of 'Aisha- 'I (always) saw him urinating whilst sitting down' - a man knows more about that (about such matters) than she.' Ahmad bin 'Abdur-Rahman said: 'It was the custom of the Arabs to urinate standing up. Do you not see that in the Hadith of 'Abdur-Rahman bin Hasanah it was said: 'He sits down to urinate as a woman does.'"

How many rak'ahs would the Messenger of Allah (saws) pray observing the witr ? She said: He used to observe the witr with four and three, six and three, eight and three, and ten and three rak'ahs never observing less than seven or more than thirteen.

The narrator Ahmad added in his version: He would not observe the witr with two rak'ahs before the dawn. I asked: With what would he observe the witr ? She said: He would never leave it. The version of Ahmad does not mention the words "six and three (rak'ahs)".

He reported God's messenger as saying, “The black stone descended from paradise whiter than milk, but the sins of the descendants of Adam made it black." Ahmad and Tirmidhi transmitted it, the latter saying that this is a hasan sahih tradition.

Ibn ‘Abbas said that when the Prophet recited, “Glorify the name of thy most high Lord,” (Al-Quran; 87) he said, “Glory be to my Lord most high.” Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Talq b. ‘Ali al-Hanafi reported God’s Messenger as saying, “God does not regard the prayer of a servant who does not straighten his spine between his bowing and his prostration.” Ahmad transmitted it.

Ruwaih' reported God’s Messenger as saying, “If anyone invokes a blessing on Muhammad saying, ‘O God, cause him to occupy the place near Thee on the day of resurrection’, he will be guaranteed my intercession.” Ahmad transmitted it.

Abu Huraira reported the Prophet as saying, “Were it not for the women and children who are in the houses I would make the evening prayer congregational and command my young men to burn what is in the houses with fire.” Ahmad transmitted it.

Allah’s Messenger (saw) sent out a military expedition and commanded them to wipe over the turbans and leather socks. [ Reported by Ahmad and Abu Da’ud. Al-Hakim graded it Sahih (sound)].

Mahmud bin Labid (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “The thing I fear most for you is the lesser shirk (polytheism), showing-off (of good deeds).” Related by Ahmad with a good chain of narrators,

Ibn ’Umar (RAA) narrated, ‘ Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) held a horse race and made the destination from the fully grown ones at a longer distance Related by Ahmad and Abu Dawud. Ibn Hibban graded it as Sahih.

Abu Hurairah (RAA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said ,”Prize money is allowed only for racing camels, shooting arrows or racing horses.” Related by Ahmad and the three lmams. Ibn Hibban graded it as Sahih.

He said, "Verily! Allah, the Most High, will not do anything with the affliction your sister imposes on herself. Command her to cover her head and to ride, and to fast three days."

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "Neither the prescribed punishment nor retaliations should be executed inside the mosque." [Reported by Ahmad and Abu Dawud through a weak Sanad (chain)].

I heard Allah's Messenger (SAW) saying, "There are no two Witr (prayers) during one night." [Reported by Ahmad and ath-Thalathah and Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (authentic)].

Subḥāna dhil-jabarūti, walmalakūti, walkibriyā'i, wal`aẓamati. Glory is to You, Master of power, of dominion, of majesty and greatness. Reference: Abu Dawud 1/230, An-Nasa'i and Ahmad. Its chain of narration is good (Hasan).

Umm Salama said that God's messenger used to fast on Saturdays and Sundays more than on other days, and he used to say, “They are days of festival for the polytheists, and I like to act contrary to them.” Ahmad transmitted it.

‘A’isha reported God’s messenger as saying, “When a man’s sins are numerous and he has no good deeds wherewith to atone for them, God afflicts him with sorrow to remove them from him.” Ahmad transmitted it.

Jabir reported God’s messenger as saying, "When one visits an invalid he continues to plunge into mercy till he sits down, and when he sits down he is immersed in it.” Malik and Ahmad transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Abbas reported God’s messenger as saying, “The niche in the side of the grave is for us and the excavation in the middle is for others.” Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Nasa’i and Ibn Majah transmitted it, and Ahmad transmitted it from Jarir b. ‘Abdallah.

Samura reported the Prophet as saying, “If anyone finds his actual property with someone he has most right to it, and the buyer must sue the one who made the sale.” Ahmad, Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it.

Umm Salama told that the Prophet was saying during his illness, “Maintain the prayer and care for your slaves.” Baihaqi transmitted it in Shu'ab al-iman, and Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted something similar on the authority of ‘Ali.

one who is addicted to wine, one who breaks ties of relationship, and one who believes in magic.” Ahmad transmitted it.

Abu Musa told that when the Prophet feared a people he said, "O God, we put Thee in front of them, and we seek refuge in Thee from their evils." Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

The aforesaid tradition has been transmitted by Al Zuhri through a different chain of narrators. This version adds “Each prayer with an iqamah”. Ahmad reported on the authority of Waki’ “he offered each prayer with a single iqamah.”

Jabir reported God’s messenger as saying, “Every act of kindness is sadaqa, and kindness includes meeting your brother with a cheerful face and pouring water from your bucket into your brother’s vessel." Ahmad and Tirmidhi transmitted it.

Thauban reported God's messenger as saying, "When you see the black standards have come from the direction of Khurasan go to them, for God's khalifa the Mahdi will be among them." Ahmad and Baihaqi, in Dala'il an-nubuwa, transmitted it.

Ibn 'Umar (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “When you place your deceased in the grave, say, ‘In the Name of Allah, and in accordance with the tradition of Allah’s Messenger (P.B.U.H.).” Related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud and An-Nasa’i.

’Umar bin al-Khattab (RAA) narrated, ‘I heard the Messenger of Allah say, “A father is not to be killed for his offspring.” Related by Ahmad, At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah. Ibn al-Garud and al-Baihaqi graded it as Sahih.

Ali (RAA) narrated that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “When a group of people passes by, it is sufficient if one of them gives a salutation, and it is sufficient for those who are sitting that one of them replies.” Related by Ahmad and Al-Baihaqi.

Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted a similar hadith on the authority of Abu Sa’id, and they added the extra statement, “Go back and ask for their permission. If they permit you to go, then go for Jihad otherwise, be good to them (look after them).

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "Do not buy the fish that is in the water, for it involves uncertainty (risk)." [Reported by Ahmad who indicated that the correct view is that it is Mawquf (saying of a Companion, i.e. Ibn Mas'ud].

Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "The hand (which takes) is responsible for what it has taken till it returns it." [Reported by Ahmad and al-Arba'a. al-Hakim graded it Sahih (authentic)].

Abu Umama reported God’s messenger as saying, “Gabriel never came to me without ordering me to use the tooth-stick, with the result that I have been afraid of chafing the front of my mouth.” Ahmad transmitted it.

Al-Bara’ reported God’s messenger as saying, “There is no harm in the urine of an animal whose flesh may be eaten.” In a version of Jabir’s he said, “If an animal’s flesh may be eaten, there is no harm in its urine.” Ahmad and Daraqutni transmitted it.

Jabir reported God’s messenger as saying, “He who runs away from plague like him who runs away from battle, but he who meets it with endurance will have a martyr’s reward." Ahmad transmitted it.

'Imran b. Husain reported God’s Messenger as saying, “When anyone has something due to him from another he will be credited with sadaqa for every day he allows the other to postpone payment.” Ahmad transmitted it.

Thauban reported God's Messenger as saying, “If any woman asks her husband for divorce without some strong reason the odour of paradise will be forbidden to her.” Ahmad, Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah and Darimi transmitted it.

You are Jamila (i. e. good and handsome). Ahmad (one of the narrators) narrated it with a slight variation of wording.

I am Muhammad, Ahmad. Muqaffi (the last in succession), Hashir, the Prophet of repentance, and the Prophet of Mercy.

God’s messenger married Maimuna when he was not in the sacred state and cohabited with her when he was not in the sacred state, and I was the messenger between them. Ahmad and Tirmidhi transmitted it, the latter saying that this is a hasan tradition.

Sulama daughter of al-Hurr reported God’s Messenger as saying, "One of the signs of the last hour will be that people in a mosque will refuse to act as imam and will not find an imam to lead them in prayer.” Ahmad, Abu Dawud, and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

‘Ali told that the Prophet, taking some silk and putting it in his right hand, and taking some gold and putting it in his left hand, said, “These are prohibited to the male members of my people.” Ahmad, Abu Dawud and Nasa’i transmitted it.

Harb b. ‘Ubaidallah told on the authority of his grandfather, his mother’s father, that he had it on the authority of his father that God’s Messenger said, “Tithes are to be levied on Jews and Christians, but are not to be levied on Muslims.” Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

The Prophet (saw) said: “Whoever washes a dead person should take a bath (thereafter); and whoever carries it should perform ablution”. Reported by Ahmad, An-Nasa’i and At-Tirmidhi who graded it Hasan (fair).

Rafi' bin Khudiaj (RAA) narrated, 'I heard the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) say, "There is no cutting off of a hand for taking fruit or the pith of a palm tree." Related by Ahmad and four Imams. At-Tirmidhi and Ibn Hibban graded it as Sahih.

"Allah's Messenger (SAW) said, "Whoever swears an oath, and then says: "If Allah Wills", he is not held accountable if he breaks it." [Ahmad and al-Arba'a reported it, and Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (authentic)].

I went on an expedition with the Prophet (SAW) and heard him say, "People are partners in three things: grazing, pasture, water and fire." [Reported by Ahmad and Abu Dawud, and its narrators are reliable (thiqah)].

Allah's Messenger (SAW) ordered that the mosques be built in residential districts and that it be cleaned and perfumed. [Reported by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, and at-Tirmidhi. The latter considered it Mursal [missing link in the chain after the Tabi'i (student of a Companion)].

Thauban reported God’s messenger as saying, “Keep to the straight path, which you will not be able to do, know that your best action is prayer and that only a believer observes ablution carefully." Malik, Ahmad, Ibn Majah and Darimi transmitted it.

Busra daughter of Safwan b. Naufal reported God’s messenger as saying, “If any of you touches his penis he must perform ablution.” Malik, Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi, Nasa’i, Ibn Majah and Darimi transmitted it.

He reported God's messenger as saying, "People who arise from an assembly in which they did not remember God will be just as if they had got up from an ass's corpse, and it will be a cause of grief to them." Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

The Messenger of Allah (saws) said: No one of you should make water in his bath and then wash himself there (after urination).

The version of Ahmad has: Then performs ablution there, for evil thoughts come from it.

‘Amr b. al-'As told that he heard God's Messenger say, “Fornication will not appear among any people without their being punished by famine, and bribery will not appear among any people without their being punished by terror.” Ahmad transmitted it.

Ibn ‘Umar reported God’s messenger as saying, “Let him who can die in Medina, for I shall intercede for those who die in it." Ahmad and Tirmidhi transmitted it, the latter saying this is a hasan sahih tradition whose isnad is gharib.

Abu Huraira reported God’s Messenger as saying, “Were it not for causing distress to my people, I would command them to postpone the night prayer till a third or a half of the night had passed.” Ahmad, Tirmidhi and Ibn Majah transmitted it.

Abu Huraira reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The imam is responsible and the mu'adhdhin is trusted. O God, guide the imams and forgive the mu'adhdhins.” Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Tirmidhi and Shafi’i transmitted it, and in another version by Shafi’i the wording of al-Masabih is used.

He told of a man who came to the Prophet and said, “So and so prays at night, and when morning comes he steals.” He replied, “What you say will restrain him.” Ahmad and Baihaqi, in Shu'ab al-iman, transmitted it.

He reported God’s messenger as saying, “The treasure of one of you on the day of resurrection will be a large bald snake from which he will flee, but it will keep following after him till he gives it his fingers to eat." Ahmad transmitted it.

Nu'aim b. Mas'ud reported God's Messenger as saying to two men who came from Musailima, "I swear by God that were it not that messengers are not killed, I would cut off your heads.” Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Amro bin Shu’aib narrated on the authority of his father, on the authority of his grandfather (RAA), that the Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “Eat, drink, wear clothes and give sadaqah but with neither extravagance nor pride.” Related by Abu Dawud and Ahmad.

Samurah bin Jundub (RAA) narrated that The Messenger of Allah (P.B.U.H.) said, “Whoever obtains possession of a relative, who is next of kin, that person becomes free.” Related by Ahmad and the four Imams. Some scholars are of the opinion that it is Mawquf (not connected to the Prophet.)

Safinah (RAA) narrated, ‘I was a slave of Umm Salamah and she said, ‘I shall emancipate you, but on the condition that you serve Allah’s Messenger (P.B.U.H.) as long as you live.’ Related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud, An-Nasa’i and Al-Hakim.

'Abdur Rahman bin 'Uthman al-Qurashi (RAA) narrated, 'A doctor consulted the Prophet (PBUH) about extracting medicine from a frog but he prohibited killing it.' Related by Ahmad, Abu Dawud and An-Nasai. Al-Hakim graded it as Sahih.

The Prophet (SAW) said, "If anyone swears a false oath on this Minbar of mine, he will have prepared his seat in the Hell-Fire." [Reported by Ahmad, Abu Dawud and an-Nasa'i. Ibn Hibban graded it Sahih (authentic)].

The Prophet (SAW) said, "If two guardians have given a woman in marriage, she marries the man she was first married to." [Reported by Ahmad and al-Arba'a. at-Tirmidhi graded it Hasan (good)].

Subḥāna Rabbiya ‘l-a`lā. Glory is to my Lord, the Most High. (This is said three times in Arabic.) Reference: Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, An-Nasa'i, At-Tirmidhi, and Ahmad. See also Al-Albani, Sahih At-Tirmidhi 1/83.

She also reported God’s messenger as saying, “When one of you goes to relieve himself he should take with him three stones with which to cleanse himself, for they will be enough for him.” Ahmad, Abu Dawud, Nasa’i and Darimi transmitted it.

God’s messenger wiped over the shoes and I said, “Messenger of God, you have forgotten.” He replied, “No, you have forgotten. My Lord commanded me to do this.” Ahmad and Abu Dawud transmitted it.

Abu Huraira reported God’s messenger as saying, “Anyone who has washed a dead body must bathe himself.” Ibn Majah transmitted it; and Ahmad, Tirmidhi and Abu Dawud added, “And he who carries it must perform ablution.”

He reported God’s Messenger as saying, “The most excellent jihad is when one speaks a true word in the presence of a tyrannical ruler.” Tirmidhi, Abu Dawud and Ibn Majah transmitted it, and Ahmad and Nasa‘i transmitted it on the authority of Tariq b. Shihab.

‘Indeed Farqad is not a companion of Ḥadīth’.

"It is as if I can see the glistening of the perfume on the head of the Messenger of Allah when he is in Ihram." Ahmad bin Nasr (one of the narrators) said in his narration: "The glistening of the perfume of musk in the parting (of the hair) of the Messenger of Allah"

I did not offer behind anyone after the Messenger of Allah (saws) a prayer like the prayer offered by the Messenger of Allah (saws) than this youth, i.e. Umar ibn AbdulAziz. We estimated reciting glorification ten times in his bowing, and in his prostration ten times.

Abu Dawud said: Ahmad b. Salih said: I asked him ('Abd Allah) whether the name Manus is correct of Mabus. He replied: 'Abd al-Razzaq used to say Mabus, but I remember Manus (i.e. the narrator Wahb b. Manus). These are the words of Ibn Rafi'. It has also been narrated by Ahmad from Sa'id b. Jubair on the authority of Anas b. Malik.

Umm Salama said that the Prophet used to say after the dawn prayer, “O God, I ask Thee for beneficial knowledge, acceptable action, and good provision.” Ahmad, Ibn Majah and Baihaqi, in [Kitab] ad- Da'awat al-kabir, transmitted it.

Abu Umama said the Prophet used to pray the two of them after the witr seated, and recited in the course of them, “When the earth is shaken’’, 1 and "Say, O infidels."2 Al-Qur’an; 99 Al-Qur’an; 109 Ahmad transmitted it.

‘Abdallah b. ‘Amr reported God's Messenger as saying, “Any Muslim who dies on Friday or on Thursday night will be protected by God from the testing in the grave." Ahmad and Tirmidhi transmitted it, the latter saying this is a gharib tradition whose isnad is not fully connected.
