Chapter: The Prohibition Against Strutting With Pride, And Being Amazed With One's Clothes

باب تَحْرِيمِ التَّبَخْتُرِ فِي الْمَشْىِ مَعَ إِعْجَابِهِ بِثِيَابِهِ
Sahih Muslim 2088 d
This hadith has been transmitted on the authority of Abu Huraira but with a slight variation of wording:
While there was a man who strutted in his two mantles.
وَحَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَافِعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ، عَنْ هَمَّامِ بْنِ مُنَبِّهٍ، قَالَ
هَذَا مَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم فَذَكَرَ أَحَادِيثَ مِنْهَا وَقَالَ
رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم
" بَيْنَمَا رَجُلٌ يَتَبَخْتَرُ فِي بُرْدَيْنِ " . ثُمَّ ذَكَرَ بِمِثْلِهِ .
