Chapter: It is invalid to sell goods before taking possession of them

باب بُطْلاَنِ بَيْعِ الْمَبِيعِ قَبْلَ الْقَبْضِ
Sahih Muslim 1526 a
Ibn 'Umar (Allah be pleased with them) reported Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) as saying:
He who buys foodgrain should not sell it until he has taken full possession of it.
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مَسْلَمَةَ الْقَعْنَبِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا مَالِكٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ يَحْيَى، قَالَ قَرَأْتُ عَلَى مَالِكٍ عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صلى الله عليه وسلم قَالَ
" مَنِ ابْتَاعَ طَعَامًا فَلاَ يَبِعْهُ حَتَّى يَسْتَوْفِيَهُ " .
